I booked afternoon tea for 4 adults and 1 child today. Was looking forward to it very much. However totally disappointed. When I phoned to book I asked what the option would be for a child (11yrs old), they said they would get half of what the original afternoon tea would be. Oh how wrong could we be. Our afternoon tea arrived, which was fresh, it was ok, but I've had better, then our son's arrived which consisted of, 3 finger sandwiches and 2 scones (no cream or jam) he also did not get a drink included which I had to order and was charged on top of the afternoon teas. The service was awful, it was ok when you arrived however once you had received the tea/coffee and food you didn't see anyone again, I wanted to order a hot chocolate and and to go looking for someone to order it. Nobody came back to us, or any of the other diners to see if everything was ok and to see if we needed a top up of tea and coffee. When it came to the bill, they charged my son individual for the sandwiches and scones (£5.50 for 3 finger sandwiches and £2.50 for 2 scones) I said that my son didn't get anything to go with his scones but the young chap said that I had cream and jam with my food which I should have used, but I explained that they were for mine and my husband scones, he then asked if we'd ordered jam and cream?!? I replied with, surely if you order afternoon tea then this would come as standard esp with scones and not serve then dry. He then shrugged his shoulder then said that there wasn't anything he could do about it, he deducted £2.50 off the bill. We have had afternoon tea at other places and I have to say this was the worst I've ever had. Poor quality, poor service, we will not be back nor recommend this place.
