First time visit for us won’t be the last. Great food and service thanks to everyone for a superb evening booked at the last min.

Been here twice now first on Monday for our 40th anniversary and then again tonight Great food Great staff Great atmosphere What can I say? Just absolutely great thank you so much Definitely recommend.

Great place to stay, friendly staff. Food and service is excellent with a good GF selection. Nice beer and an excellent choice of almost 40 gins.

Had dinner and lunch here and both were fantastic, great service, delicious food, nice atmosphere and excellent value. The Orchard Pig Cider was so so nice. can't wait to return.

The food was absolutely delicious — birthday lunch for my husband. Chargrilled chicken breast with a good tasty selection of perfectly cooked vegetables — with a creamy tarragon and mushroom sauce. I highly recommend this dish to you.
The desserts so beautifully presented and really delicious too. We had our dog with us and she was made most welcome too. We sat outdoors in the sunshine it was perfect. Definitely our new local — having only moved here recently this is just what we were looking for. Thank you to all the staff — our compliments to the chef who really cooked to a very high standard.

This is a real hidden gem. We visited for a friends 60th birthday lunch.
We had 3 delicious roast dinners, and lovely desserts.
I especially liked the white chocolate blondie with hazelnut crunch topping.
Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful.
We would highly recommended it. 😋☺🤗

Just back from a nights stay. An excellent place to stay, very relaxed and laid back, the food was superb, including breakfast. Could not fault it. Just what we needed. Will be back again and will recommend to anyone to visit. Very homely and very comfortable.

Just packing up after a 2 night stay already looking when we can come back, as one of the very best short breaks we have had, the food is delicious the staff attentive and friendly the setting and hotel/ pub comfortable and very COVID safe a perfect getaway

Had a wonderful, relaxing time away at The Allanton Inn for a special birthday celebration. Lovely rooms, excellent food and convivial hosts. Felt very clean and safe. First time there but won’t be the last.

Fantastic take away on Thursday, service prompt and safe … and wow the food was amazing.

Stunning setting, had the lobster platter which was ok, both very poorly following the meal, which was the only thing we ate that day, so wouldn't recommend.

One of my absolute favourite places. The food is always delicious, fresh and local. The staff are friendly and efficient and the owners are genuinely lovely people.

Just had the most amazing meal with my two sons and husband x children’s menu suits all ages and expect an amazing choice for adults x lovely atmosphere can’t wait for our return x would highly recommend x.

Brilliant stay at Allanton Inn. Excellent family suite with 2 bedrooms and lovely bathroom. Peaceful location with wonderful views out over the fields. Food was just stunning, and they happily dealt with dietary needs. Thank you for a brilliant visit, we shall look forward to our next one.

Possibly the best bar-restaurant in the east coast area of the Scottish Borders. Great selection of gin, wine and beers; excellent local fare cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming for locals and visitors alike. We always take our overseas visitors for dinner at the Allanton to showcase borders eating, knowing full well they will be delighted with both food and surroundings. The Allanton has a large beer garden to the rear that is perfect for a casual drink or an event during the summer — great for children — and blazing open fires that make for a homely venue during winter — better for adults. Always busy, be sure to book a table in advance for Sunday lunch. Highly recommend for.

The Allanton Inn is one of the finest establishments in the Borders. From the food to the warmth to the mammoth gin selection to the hospitality of the publicans, it really is a must visit!

A lovely Pub in the Borders. Our contemporary stylish room was delightful with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was small but with a very good shower and nice shower gel and shampoo. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of local produce. We didn't done in the evening though the menu looked really scrummy. We will return for a longer stay.

Fine dining. Excellent atmosphere. Good service. A place to go when you want a treat.

Delicious food, prompt friendly service and a great atmosphere in a lovely old coaching inn — highly recommended. My mother, mother-in-law, son and I all have different dietary requirements, and the staff at the Allanton Inn are always happy to accommodate our needs.

My husband and I got married here on Saturday (2nd June 2018) and we want to thank Katrina, William and all the staff that made our day so amazing and special. The atmosphere was so relaxed, the canapes and drinks went down a treat, the 3 course meal was perfect! So much so the chef got a round of applause.
Everyone at the Allanton inn went the extra mile for us all and we cannot recommend them enough for any event or special occasion. You will not be disappointed.
The bedroom was lovely and homely and so comfortable.

Went here last night for a meal with family and was not dissapointed, staff were friendly and welcoming, the establishment was immaculate with a pleasing to the eye decor and presentation, drinks order was promptly taken and arrived imminently, next our food came, everything was well presented and tasted delicious, top marks for the chef, overall I would highly recommend the menu as for the Allanton Inn it's self, it's what I would describe as a hidden gem of the countryside, 5☆'s and well done to all the staff.

Wonderful hostelry in The village of Allanton itself which comes under the postal town of Duns. The address can be a little misleading. The food is second to none, the prices are higher than pub grub, but well worth it, and I am no wealthy person! The staff are a delight, with just the perfect balance of friendliness and excellent service. Definitely a place worth stopping off at, but make sure you phone and book as it's very popular all year round!

We are locals and can't count the amount of times we've been in for drinks and food! William and Katrina are exceptional with their service and the staff are always wonderful. It is usually the place we take friends who are visiting or for family meals. It's also great for a quiet weekday pint or for a more lively Saturday evening gin! Fantastic drinks selection, wonderful staff, incredible food. Could not recommend more! Plus they do gift vouchers which we have bought several times which make fantastic presents. You may have to book at the busy times for food as it is a popular place. Most recently we were at their charity fireworks display and they were able to cater for hundreds of people with their outdoor Bbq and marquee. Was a lovely night and raised a huge amount for charity.

Have just stayed here for 3 nights with my husband, 3 year old and 14 month old. William and Katrina were absolutely lovely, really helpful and so accommodating. The room was lovely and clean, bright and airy, and had ample space for our cot bed and airbed (room 1). There was ample storage if you are staying for a few nights, and the room was well equipped with tea and coffee, towels and other toiletries. The room was attended to daily with fresh towels and bedding. The breakfast every morning was fantastic, with a selection of local produce available, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast and hot options. We had a meal one evening and the staff were brilliant and the food was enjoyed by all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and loved how welcome we were made to feel. Little things like allowing me to store my 14month olds milk in their fridge without it being a drama, and sharing some toys with my 3 year all made for a perfect stay. Thank you all! :)

Such a friendly welcome … Katie behind the bar merits a shout out … the food was lovely and the wine is we sat out in the beer garden. There's not many top notch eating places with such a lovely disposition on a sunny day. Worth a revisit. Definitely.

Food was lovely but no welcome! No — are you enjoying your meal! No — water on table although other tables were brought some! No — thanks for coming or hope to see you again! in fact it was a one way conversation! VERY dissappointed in customer service. This was our first visit to the Allanton Inn & expected a higher standard of hospitality especially after receiving an award.

Amazing stay couldn't fault anything. The food was great and rooms large and comfortable.

A small but welcoming restaurant. It is not particularly cheap but all four of us thought the meals were excellent, including an interesting choice of mainly local cheeses for dessert. I overheard an American couple saying that their stay at the inn was the highlight of their Scottish trip, so I imagine the entire menu is pretty good (and available on their web site). We live nearby and will be back again soon.
