Belfast International Youth Hostel Hostel

Basic place to sleep and little else. We took the 4 mixed room as I was going with my partner.
It offers you what you need to spend the night and already. Locker with your own key in the room and Wi-Fi nothing else in the lobby, I guess to push to get people to relate. There is a sink in the room (I found it a bit shocking at first) and the bathroom in the hallway is a spacious single room with the toilet and shower head, without any separation between them but with enough distance.
What I said… Basic and austere but enough.

Room 303 twin ensuite has a lovely view. Comfortable bed. Everywhere was very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. 10 min walk to town centre and botanical gardens. Very convenient for buses.

A completely decent and extremely well located hostel. Value for money good.

If you put aside the prison sized room we had and the fact that Wi-Fi was not reaching our room, it was a nice experience. Ps: I have no idea why we got the room with bunk beds as I have booked for a double bed (for Hubby and I) but wasn’t hustled to fight for a better one. I don’t think I would choose the same place again.

A nice place to stay for a visit to Belfast. I stayed in a room for 2. It's quite small but perfectly fine for what you need. Shares bathroom but sink in the room. The location is great as the bus station is about 6 minutes walking distance, there is a Tesco close by and a KFC right on the corner for a bite to eat. There is a taxi company right across the road if you need to sort a taxi which is very handy. The staff are really friendly and helpful. One thing which is good to know is that they will take and keep a photo id off you for the duration of your stay as a deposit for the key card. When you check out you get it back. There is a nice kitchen in this hostel and food can also be purchased here. Stayed here twice and will definitely stay again.

The city does not offer much choice but the Titanic museum is well worth it. It is very well prepared very interactive and interesting, with things I had never seen in other museums 100% recommended.

Nice place with good quality-price rate for backpacker and travellers, well located. Good service, specially loved the breakfast. Although I would like better showers.

Good location easy walk to town. Clean, nothing flash. Has a semi decent restaurant down stairs. Good meeting point for tours/bus trips.

Clean and cozy. Guys at the front desk very helpful 24 hours. A very convenient and easy to use is that they leave beautiful tours directly from the hostel.

Rooms are small with only two sockets, bunk beds are narrow and heating only comes on at certain hours of the day. No en suite bathroom and share showers and toilets with the floor. Good location near shops and city centre. Showers are hot but turn off every 10 seconds or so, so have to keep pressing button to start it again. Reception workers are friendly and helpful. Cafe is very good lots of options of good food.

Staff is very very nice! Price is fair, the shower is great and it is very quiet and clean in the hostel. If you look for a place to rest without any stress, I surely recomend it!

The beds were comfortable but the showers are not in the rooms and then the window is useless it is cold in the room as if you were on the street.

A lovely friendly place. Very basic of course but clean and quite. Central for everything (areas a bit wild on a Saturday night so wouldn't wonder around on your own at night). Cafe also offers the option of a cracking (responsible priced) breakfast! Only grumble was the fact they keep your photo ID for the duration of your stay… not a fan of this procedure as the staff wouldn't confirm that it would be locked in a safe!

Fantastic! By far the best hostel I've been to! Staff are caring and helpful. This past July, we arrived an hour and a half before check-in and were exhausted after traveling 45 hours with only 5 hours of sleep. Shout out to Paul who, after seeing me sleeping in the waiting room, got us settled into a room quickly. Further, due to some health troubles, we had to extend our stay 2 days, which meant leaving on a very popular local holiday. Paul went out of his way to ensure our comfort and to help arrange transport to the airport. The hostel is in a wonderful location. The walls are not thin, the room was comfy with a bedroom and bathroom that were not cramped (unlike other hostels). There was a fantastic cafe downstairs with amazing food at good prices. Further, there is a coin laundry room, television room, library, and kitchen for guest use. Across the street is a lively bar that gets a little loud sometimes — but we personally felt it was charming. The hostel is about a 10 minute walk from the Europa bus station and was within walking distance to many of the sites. I'm so glad we chose this hostel and got to meet the amazing Paul! Thank you for an extraordinary stay — I cannot adequately convey my appreciation during what was a painful and stressful time for my husband and myself.

The location is very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty good. The showers are fairly annoying. You have to keep pressing on a button to keep the showers on.

I had a really good experience here. Nice and quiet at night. If Wi-Fi extended to the rooms it would get 5 stars from me.

Very friendly staff, convenient location, and adequate sleeping arrangements. Good value for money if you're in a pinch. Simple and clean. There's also a restaurant attached if you're feeling hungry.

The private room was very nice and clean. Although one of the windows didn´t close completely so there was a little breeze coming in. Good price. You have to pay to leave your luggage if you get there early.

Very bright hotel. The room was very noisy. Uninsulated and maximum sound. To flee if need to rest.

This is a good hostel : clean, well maintained and helpful staff. Good facilities too, a laundry, and a cafe which does breakfast. Each bed in the 4 man dorm has a power point, and a locker. The pillows are rubbish, and there's no secure charging for electronics, but other than that, no real downsides.

Staff were helpful and professional. Rooms seems clean. Facilties were good. Bunk beds were metal so did creak a bit but overall a good stay. Breakfast in adjoining cafe was good size and value.

7 days a year stay, that's their policy which means no unemployed people hibernating for months and months which is the case with most of the hostels. Clean, organised and very secure. I rented a twin ensuite and the ambience was great, it was nothing less than a hotel room. Would definitely stay here again, but gotta wait another year for that :D.

Basic but clean and good service. Great location near pubs and restaurants and a brief walk into town. Cafe next door is excellent value.

Stayed for a few nights and it was nice. We had an attached bathroom which was nice, if a bit wet. The beds were alright for a hostel. The free Wi-Fi and attached cafe was nice too. One complaint, there was only 2 outlets for 4 people. Hard to charge everything and it was across the room from my bed.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful, and there is a nice cafe next door with lots of options for food. The hostel itself is a bit quiet and dull. The room I was in was not very nice and in desperate need of renovation. The beds were old and the bathroom was horrible, with grimy concrete floors. It literally looked like a prison shower from a movie. Thankfully the shower worked and there was hot water. Also there was no soundproofing, which meant noise. Ok if you only need a night.

Really Excellent in such low fare. Good Kitchen facility, luggage storage everything is fantastic. Washroom is not up to the mark. There was no soap, shampoo or paste provided. To spend one or two night while traveling all day long, this is a perfect place for students.

I think a prison cell offers more comfort. Broken beds (screws and co are only half on, mold and that in the tightest of spaces. The panels on the ceiling almost fly down.
On top of that, the, free Wi-Fi "only goes in the lobby. Elevator broken.
The only good point is the location one has it not far to bars and co.

Poor bedrooms due too deep brown mould growing on the window seals, bedroom sink is pretty much relying on a pedestal… where are the screws at? Most hostel I have attended has a latch on windows to avoid people climbing out, this place doesn't. You needed a pogo stick to get onto the tops of bunk beds due to the ladders being place in the worst position. Never have I ever met such an unprofessional team of poor, unsociable, unkind staff in my life. Don't try and complain nicely to their faces about the rooms because you won't even last an hour there. This happened to two of my friends. We were so lucky to have a friend who lived in Ireland. However, location is ideal but unless I want to get bites all over me… I'm not returning to that hostel.

Location: seaside very well, the city center is reachable
The room is ok, for the price you can not complain about, except that the Wi-Fi is canceled receive at what you can annoy for the Skype.

This is a good hostel, it is 15 minutes walking from city center, they have a free parking space in case you get there by car, common areas, kitchen and laundry room, Rooms are clean and tidy, but there are not towels (I don't know if you can rent one) The common areas are full of people using WIFi (Wi-Fi signal is not good in the rooms) Some of these people put their naked feet on the tables which is a bit unpleasant. Staff are very nice, we needed to print our boarding passes and they pronted for us. (thanks)

My finaceè and I stayed there for a day, but it was great. Polite receptionists, nice private room with a sweet view to the city. Plus, a good price! Would recommend. :)

It is not clean. The rooms and hallways smell bad. The facilities are bad. The shower is with push button with no curtain.

"Like a prison" We were here with a group of 33 students. As soon as we arrived everyone was really disappointed with the rooms and the staff. Of course, we didn't expect a hotel, but this was the most horrible hostel you could ever imagine Here just a small list of things: — Rooms, especially beds and windows not really clean (our shutter had some gross brownish drops on it) — the showers are very small, with no place to put your clothes — very strict rules about loudness, although the most noises came from the pub right next to the hostel — only two nearly broken sockets in a room for four.

Room too tight, and rules the limit is too strong. The Breakfast, unfortunately, is always the same — it tastes and is fresh. Is right Central.

As in the prison. Does not deserve the name "Hostel". Talk prohibited. Bed is falling apart (but if it then falls apart, it is the rules of a criminal Offense and they bring the police). The sink in the bathroom. Rubbish bins are also overrated. A lift goes, if you are lucky. And the button is just broken. But Yes, feel good!

Got in late and left early, but the seventeen bed dorm was one of the better smelling ones I've stayed in. A bit of an outlet shortage, so you might have to charge your phone before you get to sleep, if you're using it for an alarm and don't want to leave it sitting across the room. Good company, too.

Have stayed at this hostel many times, although it is basic, it cannot be beaten on value. It's a true hostel with good kitchen facilities and a cafe if you're feeling lazy. Location is a stones throw from central Belfast and this hostel is a great place to base your stay from.

Good experience here — very helpful and welcoming staff on arrival, room and showers/toilets were basic but acceptable for price. Really good cafe attached which had great range/value of food/drinks. Really good location and car park which was a huge bonus! Good value for money, would stay again.

Very clean hostel with reasonable rates. The staff is very professional and they have plenty of ammentities including a laundry facility, Wi-Fi, and a cafe. Strongly recommend to others.

One of the most vibrant and buzzing hostels I stayed at. The staff is really friendly and you can also take tours to giants causeway departing from the hotel. Overall great neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and pubs. Only problem is that you can't take food to your room. But overall it was great!

I had a good experience at this hostel overall. I stayed in a suite for 2 nights on the 2nd floor and found that the price was fair. The location was good, only about a 10 minute walk to the city center of Belfast. The neighborhood seemed a bit rough, but the building security of the hostel made up for any insecurities I had at night. The bed itself was comfortable and clean. There was some dust in the corners of the room but I did not find this to be deceiving in regards to pricing and services. There was a Wi-Fi signal in my room, it wasn't a strong signal but it did work. For me, one big plus was the free and secure parking in the back of the building. I did a road trip and I only booked at places that I know offered free parking :) There was some noise in the hallways from time to time but I didn't think it was at inappropriate times of the day or night. I would stay here again!

The hostel is well located, close to the city centre. However, there's no wi fi in the rooms, just on the ground floor. The rooms are unclean, I found a spider behind my bed. The staff is not very helpful.

Well although not had curtains I the Wi-Fi not going very well.

I loved the Place. Only in winter it is best to arrive early I recommend over the bus sightseeing. Since the others don't really give what offers n. You can also do everything by walking. If you are going to change money I recommend either before you arrive or at the post office.

The worst hostel I have ever been to, more expensive but bad room condition. The heater is on but since there's gap in the window, the entire room stays freezing cold. And they turn off the heater at midnight and won't turn it on until 4, so it makes no difference from sleeping with the window open in the middle of winter. The staff is nice enough, but it doesn't make up for the condition of the room, for which I pay.

I would say it's such a bargain. Clean rooms. Nice and friendly staff. Offers free walking tour with a knowledgeable guide. I'd only complain about no Wi-Fi in rooms and lack of sockets. But overall it's quite good and I'll stay there again if I visit Belfast once more.

Quite simply 'the best' youth hostel I have stayed in (and I have stayed in quite a few) … the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and professional and as for the causeway cafe… a dream come true! … the belfast (ulster fry) is a must! you can also book a giant's causeway and/or game of thrones tour from the hostel and staff will organize a black taxi tour of belfast… I will be back! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in belfast!

There is no Wi-Fi in rooms. There is only two sockets in a 6 bed room and one is broken. There is no cabinets and chairs in the room. Not convenient.

23 person female I thought will be noisy and crown before. But in fact it is big room like 5 rooms. Roommates are very nice. We have 3 toilets and 3 shower rooms in the room. Everything are good. Unless we can use Wi-Fi beside 0 floor only. Great surprise.

You pay for what you get. It is a youth hostel, so don't expect a 4 star hotel. There was a friendly welcome, the showers hot and the rooms are clean. The only downside was breakfast was from 8am which was when I needed to leave the hostel. If I was to ever stay in Belfast again, this would be a good choice.

Clean, safe, warm, good Mix people and ages. Very helpful staff. Comfortable beds, hot water. Great and comprehensive cafe and self-catering kitchen. Wifi use downstairs. We'll established. Central area, things in walking distance but means roads and nearby noisy at night. Slept well though from long days. Train and bus stations within 5 min walk. Lots of leaflets and maps.

For one night ok! The hostel is very loud and our private room was facing the street and at night because of the Pub opposite, according to. Otherwise, the room was clean and in order. The staff was friendly! Big Plus: own Parking Centre and tourist attractions are easily reachable on foot. Price performance ratio fits.

Extremely rude staff! Can I give a zero star on this hostel? Strongly warn you not go to this hostel unless you would like to experience such.

Very friendly staff. Nice and cozy rooms as I stayed in double rooms. Clean toilets and showers. Good location near food outlets. Nearest train network is Botanic station 3 mins walk. Tried the McComb's Giant's Causeway Tour. Amazing experience.

Most unhelpful, unfriendly hostel ever. We had just arrived late that night, freezing from walking around outside looking for a hostel. When we got here the dude came to the door, said they were booked up and he didn't really know where other hostels were. Wow.

Location is good and value for money is fine but overall this is a bit of a tired hostel. Stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of a family cycling holiday. Functional and fine but a couple of real negatives: — the shared kitchen was really not very nice (sure, that is the fault of the guests but the hostel could put some more effort into keeping things tidy). — the "on suite" shower rooms and bathrooms were a bit manky — a feature of their design rather than lack of cleaning. On the plus side the staff were great and location good.

Pro: The staff is very friendly and there are a number of nice restaurants + bars just around the corner. Con: — We (m+f, late 20ies) were put in a room for disabled which meant the mirror in the bathroom was at hip level. When you needed the mirror you had to kneel down — not very comfortable. — Also, the linen which were actually sealed had hair all over them — I spent 10 minutes pulling all the hair from the sheets — quite disgusting as you can probably imagine. — The beds are in a very poor condition — ridiculously loud when turning around. Moreover, both of us had extreme back pain (lower back) the next morning which didn't go away for the whole day. Overall: Not recommendable.

Nice and cosy place. Ideal for backpackers. Lovely cafe and a funny and grumpy old receptionist (who is actually very good) :).
