Me and my husband stayed overnight whilst house hunting in the area. It is a beautiful old house with lovely grounds and plenty of free parking. We were lucky to have been given a room at the back overlooking the grounds and surrounding farms. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely, plenty of choice if you are vegetarian. Great menu, something for everyone and reasonable prices. Fantastic chef. There was a large conservatory which I would love to go back to in the summer and patio area. The staff are all lovely, very helpfull and friendly. Good choice of continental breakfast and cooked breakfast done to order. Some of the carpets are looking a bit tatty but that can be overlooked because of the overall experience and value for money X.

We stayed for a family wedding, and the hotel was fantastic. Very nice food, friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

We were here for a Christmas Do. The room was set up well and the service was excellent. The Hotel had catered for my gluten free requirements very well, which was very appreciated.
The room was festive and the DJ was good.
The food was great. The braised steak was just lovely! Nice cheese and gf biscuits too. Nice touch to have a Christmas quiz too, thanks!

The Oriel Country Hotel & Spa hosted our Wedding recently. Michelle and the team were amazing. The attention to detail was brilliant and they went over and above to ensure our special day ran smoothly. The food was great too. We got our outside wedding which I was thrilled with and everything looked great.

We stayed here on our first wedding anniversary on saturday and the place is great the spa was lovely and they even gave us a anniversary card the staff r really helpful and the room r lovely and clean the food is on a nother leave amazing is the word x.

Can't complain really, as I got the room cheap through a website. Room was large, but was facing the road — the weather was hot and open windows mean't what is a noisy road had a big effect on the atmosphere. Bathroom and room generally were a little 'tired. Bed was huge. Everywhere was clean. Reception was a bit frosty, but breakfast staff were much friendlier. Breakfast was very good.

Great hotel in a lovely area of North Wales. The hotel is quite outdated but the rooms are fairly large. Staff are excellent as is the food. The hotel grounds are fantastic and offer an lovely outside area for an evening beer. There are leisure facilities including a gym and pool.

Where to start!? I can't recommend the Oriel house enough! Me & my husband got married here on 17th June, everything was just perfect! All staff were very helpful, food was lovely, all our guests were saying how tasty the meal was! All decor and table layouts looked gorgeous & we were so made up with the bridal suite Our wedding day was perfect & we would both like to thank everyone at the Oriel house.

Ok let’s get the negatives out the way. If you plan on sending an e-mail you best bring your pen paper and pidgin But plus points the bedrooms are so big you may want to call Uber if you wake up needing a piss. The grounds look nice enough the hotel is a little warn around the edges. If they hide it well. Food was nice and smoked salmon is on the breakfast menu. Another plus point the gym is great but I couldn’t see any CV equipment just weights, so if your a mass gaining roid monster come on in the waters lovely.

A really lovely day. Yummy afternoon tea, outstandingly blissful full body massage, perfect chill room and spa, very helpful friendly and relaxed staff and even treated myself to some beautiful handmade great value jewellery. Would highly recommend and every intention to return. A lovely day, thank you.

Clean, lovely staff, the room had a truly massive bed and was nicely appointed. Stayed in a deluxe double and really have nothing bad to say other than that the temperature was a little in the high side. I even turned off the radiators in the corridor outside. Still in the harsh winter tower we were experiencing I suppose it was better to be too warm than too cold. Restaurant is nice and the food of a decent standard (although my French fries were undercooked and although I advised the server of this, no gesture on the night, nor consideration was made with regard to the bill. ) Staff welcoming, friendly, with personalities, so though formal, felt the personal touch. Would stay again, although room rate special offer was attractive, and full room rate feels a little on the high side.

This is our second visit and would highly recommend this Excellent hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fabulous breakfast with a varied choice. Clean spacious rooms, Comfy beds, soft towels and well worth a visit.

We booked room for 2 nights for a wedding. Very nice room large. Nice king size bed. Large bath and shower room. Lovely staff. Meal was nice not very large. If you have a large appetite you might need side order. But on the whole I would recommend. Nice lounge and conservatory comfy seats.

Very nice hotel. The room was neat and the bed was very comfortable. Shower and bathroom was also very clean. I would go back there again. Price was not bad either.

My self and my partner came to the hotel for lunch on Friday. We were only passing by and thought we could grab something quick and with the hotel being rather quiet we were not really expecting much of the food.
What can I say?!?
It was amazing! Each course presented beautifully and all of it tasting delicious. The ingredients were so fresh and we thoroughly enjoyed every last bite. Compliments to the chef and staff considering we were the only customers in there. 100% for effort and service. I would highly recommend their new menu and we will for certain be eating there again if passing through. 5 stars!

A really nice hotel with great facilities. My room was large with a great shower and was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a large, well equipped, gym with lots of free weights. I didn't use the pool but it looked nice enough as hotel pools go. Food from the restaurant was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous hotel. Lovely big clean room. Staff very welcoming and friendly. It was very busy and short staffed when we stayed but they did their best. Nice warm pool, but the view of a run down garden not so good!. Food excellent. Would recommend this hotel.

We got married on October 20th 2017 and chose The Oriel Hotel as our venue. Our first meeting with Michelle, we felt at ease straight away. All our meetings were always welcoming, friendly and a relaxed experience.
The ceremony room, wedding breakfast table and the evening tables, all had been decorated beautifully.
There was a warm and friendly welcome when I arrived and it continued throughout the day.
The Wedding breakfast, the food was delicious, everyone enjoyed. The buffet in the evening, everyone commented on how delicious all the food was.
All our guests enjoyed their experience at our wedding and commented on the welcoming and friendly atmosphere and how organized and professional all the Oriel team were. We can`t thank them enough for making our day a memorable one.

I used this venue to deliver a workshop, so can't comment on any of the hotel or spa aspects. The venue was good and the carpark was large. The food was of a really good quality for a corporate lunch. Downside was that it is quite hard to find, and the postcode does not quite take you to the right location.

Had a family get together evening meal etc. Party being around 16 people meal was a pre order Hotel had lots of time prior to sitting down to eat My meal a cheeseburger with bacon. Bacon was so dry and hard could not eat it burger was so dry only half was edible bun was really dry Had finished my meal (what could be eaten before my grandson received his meal) When the chocolate brownie (sweet) came out to the table was returned as it was cold and still frozen in parts. Usually when I have a relatively bad meal I usually say nothing and decide not to go there again. The restaurant was really quite busy with only one waiter on. As a fully qualified Chef myself of over 30 years in around London and the Midlands holding the position of Head Chef in some of the most top hotels I feel I must for once just to say how I feel regarding this disaster I did not say anything at the time as the family party reunion was more important. Needless to say I will not return to this venue again for food.

First of all, when entering the reception area, we were not greeted by anyone. It rather looked like the end of the sift for many of the hotel staff, as they were talking to each other right in front of the reception desk, no one payed attention to us, though. After 5 minutes of waiting we could finally check in and got our key card, asked the receptionist about the spa facilities (this is why we booked spa hotels for all the days of our 5-days Wales trip), but sadly the spa was only open from 9am till 1pm that day. Just wondering how were we supposed to get the spa experience for the price paid for it with a 5pm check-in time (clue: no way). Anyway, we then headed to our room which looked really pretty by the first look but then we noticed quite a few (way below 4 star) issues. First off, the floor had an annoying noise to it — as if we could land a floor beneath at any time. Then my partner switched one of the bedside lamps on which exploded. Then I went to take a shower and it took like 2-3 minutes (taps fully open) to get ANY water running. The remote controll of the TV was so disgusting, we actually washed our hands several times just because of this. Not to mention walls are paper thin. Breakfast was overall okay — although not very well oragnised. We had to ask for quite a few basic things that should've been out in the buffet (e. G. Sauces).

Only went to a wedding reception here but great atmosphere and a very reasonably priced bar. Everywhere very keen good hot buffet and the gym and spa including a pool looks very cosy. Definitely one to check out if looking for a wedding venue.

The stay for my wife and I was good. The room was clean and tidy but a little dated. The hot tap was really hot and no warning about it. The spa was fine. We had massages which were really good, but the swimming pool was a little dirty, the surrounding floor around the pool was a little uneven. The food was really good in the evening. Breakfast was good too, however one morning we got tea but the water tasted and smelt like coffee. All in all. We would stay again.

Had a fantastic spa day. We had the £35 deal which was full use of the facilities, lunch and a facial. Absolutely worth every penny! The lunch was delicious, the staff were really friendly and the facial was amazing! The only reason this place didn’t get 5* was because it’s very tired and worn in places. The pool had seen better days and needed a clean. The changing rooms seemed as though a refurb has been started but just not finished. The place has so much potential and witha refurb and the already existing great service this place would be five star all the way!

Very good value hotel. Needs decorating in some bedrooms but not terrible. We ate at the hotel one night and enjoyed the food, even my fussy 15 year old son enjoyed his meal. Nice swimming pool although children have to be out of the pool by 5.00 pm each day.

My mother booked afternoon tea for us, the menu on the website sounded delicious. However on arrival we were served our afternoon tea and it was nothing like what was on the menu, the presentation was awful, the sandwiches were not on fresh bread, they were not made up as menu was offering, the scones were stale, no butter, no pot of hot water, for the price it really was disappointing! We sat in the conservatory looking out onto rotten and mouldy windows, the reception area had a case of wilted flowers and stagnant water. We won’t be re visiting.

An awesome hotel. Great prices and a fantastic home from home. Their bedrooms are large and spacious and all the staff are friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much bother for them and the Next time I am in North Wales I will book in here. The food in the restaurant is also good quality and plentiful whilst the prices are very much in line with local pubs. We had a wonderful 6 days here. The one and only drawback is they only have 1 room with a walk in shower and in this day and age I find that unacceptable. Getting in a bath is not easy for the elderly or disabled and walk in showers are so much more practical.

Got married there over 5 years ago lovely place great people and staff was there for wedding fayre my wife helped organise 3 days ago still great place and hog roast is awesome.

Awesome Hotel to stay at. Nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble for every member of the team. A week here has been just fantastic. The food is superb, the rooms excellent but the service makes this place awesome. We will be back.

The hotel was well presented, and for my particular training course plenty of signage was in place. This allowed easy navigation of their many suites. The suite we were in was clean and tidy although the batteries were out in the clock above the door! The outside grounds were lovely and kept to a decent standard. All in all a good venue. Previously had a works Christmas party here too which we a great laugh.

First class food and comfortable bed. Meals very high quality, but priced to match. In need of a little tlc too.

Spacious, clean room, giant bed! Pool & gym great, all the equipment you could ever need spread over two dedicated rooms, air conditioning & great music. Garden area lovely, if your lucky enough to have the sunshine & sit basking on the terrace, overall a nice hotel with great facility's & pleasant staff.

Hotel is very nice and the food here is lovely. The only small complaint we had was that the walls seemed a bit thin and we could hear next doors TV all night as they must have fell asleep with it on. Beds are very comfy and we would stay here again.

Stayed here last night. Had a lovely time. We were given a beautiful suite with views across the gardens and terrace. The room was beautiful with four poster bed and jacuzzi bath. Bar was lovely sat out on the terrace on the sun. Pool, gym, sauna and treatments were amazing. We didn't eat at the hotel, but I can recommend the local pub "The plough" The food was stunning and service and live band was great as is the cocktail bar on 2nd floor. Worth a visit. Would love to stay here again. The staff all very friendly, can't do enough for you. Will go back again for sure. Lovely place to get married too.

Slightly dated decor but we found the room and communal areas clean and tidy. The room was more than adequate for us as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2yr old and 3mth). In fact we fit our travel cot in alongside the one provided. Food was lovely, would recommend the lamb shank. Although we found the menu was a bit limited. Thoroughly enjoyed the pool and grounds with little ones. Staff we had contact with were very accommodating and allowed us to decorate the table for our parents anniversary. Were very child friendly. Massage was brilliant. Only issue was when brother in law asked for a sandwich before 2pm on a Saturday to be told the chef was too busy.

Had a lovely stay the staff were excellent and looked after me very well. Spa treatment was very relaxing. The food was great and a good price. Will be visiting again.

Lovely place, has clearly been invested in, and you can see little ongoing refurbishments and improvements everywhere. Pleasant pool and sauna, polite staff, lovely food. The only thing that lets it down is the exterior. The sign is cheesy, old fashioned and dirty, and the car park makes it look a bit grim. Terrible first impression that completely changed once we got through the door! Would stay again.

A typical country retreat where one can have informal and formal meetings in pleasant surroundings. Some of the decor is dated in a classical sense. I have found no outstanding quality of the food but it is interesting to see that the staff are generally friendly to everyone.

Staying here at the moment and everything is lovely apart from the uncomfortable beds. Pool is warm and gym is impressive. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice and all staff are very friendly and helpful. The whole building is clean, lovely and warm. Rooms are comfortable and big enough for our needs. Would definitely return.

Although from the outside it looks like it's a little bit run down. Once inside it's a really nice hotel very clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent and there was a great choice.

Great sized rooms, friendly staff, location was good for my needs and to top it off a fantastic restaurant. I travel a lot on business and often find myself venturing out in the evenings due to the lacklustre offerings of a hotels restaurant. Not here though! Dined there on my first nights stay and came back for the next 3! Breakfast was great as well.

On Sunday 23rd March 2014 I attended a luncheon for my Aunts 90th Birthday. I found the whole experience excellent, I enjoyed the afternoon in every way from start to end. The premises are superb, my meal of roast beef was the best I have had away from my own home. Your staff are pleasant but unobtrusive. Thank you.
