I have attended one interview here, so I could tell mostly about the banquet hall. It was old hotel slightly modernized. People are friendly and easy to go from city centre. It is opposite to the lane of National art museum Glasgow.

I booked a table on Friday night at 5pm for 4 people, 2 of my party got there at different time's before me and was told they had no booking under my name. Then they looked again and disrespectful said that's the taste card sit over there and pointed. The customer service was so terrible that my Brothers left as they felt uncomfortable then phoned me, so we decide to go somewhere else that used the tastecard and gave great customer service I would not recommend to my friends or family.

The only good thing is a good size bed and central location the rest is well below standard. No air con if you open window is to load from people and traffic at the traffic light. Duty manager with a stupid smile offers you fan it don't ask for a room number so I dexided to give it to her. Never turn up with the fan. Avoid if you can.

Be gutted if you paid a lot to stay here! Noisy, not that clean. Dated and tired. Most of the staff are friendly enough. Restaurant very over-priced. Food, at best, 2 out of 5.

From the outside the hotel looks pretty ok, but the rooms are really bad. They are small, noisy and hot (no airco). The rooms are old with broken doors. This is more a 1-2 star hotel. The breakfast is limited and not up to European standards.

Hotel was good, and service was too, in most respects. First night, though, we had our neighbor play music at the most extreme volume for quite some time. Not the hotel's fault, they did come and talk to the person and quiet them down. But they had to do it again a few minutes later, and again the following night. We were never apologized to or offered a different room. I would have been okay if it was at least acknowledged. Our second night, the fire alarm went off at 2am. Somehow louder than our neighbor's music. Not sure how long it went on for but it was way too long until we were told it was a false alarm. Accidents happen, and not all guests are great, but I felt that the incidents were mishandled here twice in a row.

Staff were excellent and breakfast very nice, only issue was the room was small and could have been cleaner.

Stayed here for a night away with the wife. I've stayed in mercure's before so knew what to expect but I would say this one was a little more tired than usual, old bathroom suite, carpets etc but clean enough. I would recommend paying a little extra to get a privelige room if you can get it for say £20, you'll get better bed lining, robes, slippers, coffee machine and amenites. We paid even more for a superior suite, you do get a larger room with a sort of 4 poster bed but I wouldn't say the extra £50 was worth it especially with no mini bar, paid for or otherwise. Food was good, steak cooked perfectly. The best thing though is the location. It's right in Glasgow City centre, perfect for shopping, bars and restaurants. Would stay again.

Disappointed in everything except the food and the shower if I'm honest. Had to complain on three separate occasions and be moved room once. We were only staying two nights. Noisy rooms, noisy pipes and uncomfortable beds. I could go on… The hotel itself looks unclean and could really be doing with a lot of maintenance.

There for a meeting. Great location. Good venue.

It seems modern but the room is small and outdated, the window of my room was sealed so the stale air made a little heavy the stay, the bathroom not only outdated and dirty (there was mold on the wall behind the door) if not that also deteriorated, the sink was broken and its drain had no grate or anything, it seemed that had broken and decided to leave the hole in the drain as it was very grim. The staff of the hotel… We find everything, but the most remarkable was a very border girl who did not bother to talk a little slower when I asked, and of course little willing to give you a hand, apparently it cost too much to make a phone call to the car that should pick us up To take us to the airport. Oh and don't be fooled with free Wi-Fi, none of that! To access you must allow them to see your data and where you access, Osea that if you want to use your Wi-Fi network you have to give access to them. Honestly, of the 3 stars you have I think you have left 5, aesthetically beautiful reception but it is only that, facade.

I called here only for food as the hotel is full tonight & its next to where I need to be. Breakfast was at the higher priced end for a hotel breakfast but worth it as the food was hot and the buffet was kept freshly replenished with eggs cooked, any style, freshly to your order if the pre-cooked fried eggs arent to your taste. I had mine lightly poached and they were delicious.

Our room was on 6th floor and could hear the noise from the lift all the time. The room was tiny. Travelodge is better.

Terrible just terrible. I mean where do I start?!? When sleeping the night (2am) I could hear the locals drunk and screaming their lungs out. I could also hear the bin men taking away the beer bottles from the recycle bins. Lastly the rooms are so small that you can even move around. It's like sleeping in a shoe box even though it's a double bed room. I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel unless it's your last option.

The room was poorly finished there was parts of the skirting boards and facings not finished The radiator had been painted at least 10 times and was in a terrible state and made a tingling noise all of the night. Bathroom was not very well finished in desperate need of sorting out. Carpet was disgusting have seen better in an old pub. On the up breakfast was good We stayed in room 110 on Saturday night.

Perfect for a short stay or business, central location, good care.

Firstly the good points, the staff are fantastic, helpful and friendly. The food is excellent, I can't fault breakfast and was really impressed when the server offered to make scrambled egg for my wife without being asked. Now the bad, the "double" rooms are tiny, they are more suited for single occupancy. The drinks are overpriced too. Worse still we were there for a Hogmanay party, the only beers on offer were Stella and Boddingtons, as a Guinness drinker I was surely disappointed. The DJ was rubbish, fortunately we were out for a party so our night wasn't totally ruined. Parking is a bit expensive too at a tenner a night but an easy option. All in all its not the Marriott but the rooms are not exactly worth the money.

Handy location but very small rooms. If you can get a deal it's worth booking but I definitely wouldn't pay the full price on the door. The bar is nice and the staff are helpful but the rooms could do with a bit of updating.

Room was small but adeqate for one night. We were at the front of the hotel facing on to a very busy road and it was very noisy. The room decor needs freshened up and the bathroom fittings need to be looked at. The side panel on the sink was bowed and loose. Breakfast was not a very good experience. One member of staff in the restaurant who seemed to be trying to deal with everything. Hot food buffet was poorly stocked and few items available at the same time so couldn't have a complete breakfast. I was on the whole disappointed with my first experience of the Mercure brand. Certainly would not rush back or be inclined to recommend the hotel to others.

Unfortunately, many British hotels also have this very run down, worn out, with partially damaged and contaminated equipment. The rooms are very small and inexpedient furnished. Despite the fact that it was cool outside, the heater did not work reliably, and when, then only very vocal. But, after all, the bed was pleasantly tight and tight and you could sleep well. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location, in the middle of Merchant City, is of course a dream, and to recommend to any Glasgow visitor. The price per night of over £120 I feel for such a rundown and well-behaved house and room, however, as far too high.

By not having Baden at the door we were fined during the 5 minutes that the check in lasted. The parking would be better if you had access from the same hotel. Full breakfast but a very small place. If you would like to stay in the center and around places of interest. Good restaurants around.

My wife and I are living in Washington, DC in US. We stayed in your hotel for seven nights from August 28 – September 4. During our stay, we felt the warmth and hospitality from some of your staff. Especially we would like to say something for Mr. Chris Armstrong. During our stay, Houston, Texas was in flood because of the hurricane. Our daughter lives in Houston. We worried about her and her family very much. Since we could not get touch with our daughter, Chris used the hotel email to help us in touch with her. Also for our departure, we need our plane boarding passes. But on that day, we joined a tour. When we were back to hotel in the late afternoon, Chris helped us to get the boarding passes printed. He was full of enthusiasm and always ready to help the customers. We are very grateful to him for his help. N. Zhang.

Excellent value for money. Wonderful staff. One need to go there just to know the power of smiles. They are also a reservoir of all things across Glasgow. Very conveniently located to reach out…

The room was clean but stiflingly hot. No air con to cool and down quite noisy with the window open. Big comfy bed but not much space in the room apart from a small desk. No sockets by the bed to charge a phone. No extractor fan in the bathroom so it got steamed up when showers were being had in the. Morning. Cheap price made the stay worth while though. Staff helpful and friendly.

Piccolisime rooms you don't know where to put or open your suitcases.

I booked a double room but was disheartened to be given a twin room (a single bed is too small for me). Reception promptly changed me to one with a super king bed. Very comfortable but had to remove the plastic backed mattress protector first. Room small but its a city centre location so space a premium. Powerful shower, good flow. The secondary window glazing in front of the external window kept noise to a minimum. Slept well. Room clean. Disappointed no complimentary biscuits with room tea/coffee. Hotel has no vending machines and no convenience stores nearby (just nightclubs).

Had a lovely 2 nights stay at Mercure Glasgow. Breakfast was brilliant and plenty of choice. The room was small but very comfortable, cleaner's in daily and towels etc changed and bed made. Was perfect for us and thanks to a very helpful gentleman member of staff who shared the lift with us on Saturday morning on our way out told us about the trains from Argyle St station to the exhibition centre where we were heading for for the Ignition Festival. Overall very happy with service we received and would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

Located in a strategic place in the center of the city. The rooms are a bit small compared to the average but they are clean and the staff is kind.

It's in a very good location, but as other reviewers noted it feels outdated and requires refurbishment. The rooms are tiny too and the staff not as friendly as other hotels I've stayed at.

Brilliant location within the city, you can easily walk around to many of the main attractions. George square is one street up and the botanical gardens are about 25 min walks away and the light house is a 10min stroll plus the modern art museum is on your doorstep. It is also sandwiched between the main shopping streets. The rooms are nice and include a large safe however if your staying for a while there isn't anywhere to put a larger suitcase. It seems to cater to a business croud but it is perfectly place for a city break. Free Wi-Fi through and a 24 hour bar.

Location and staff cannot be faulted, but the rooms are a tad small and could do with renovation. That being said, it was perfectly comfortable and I'd go back in the future.

Great stay. I stayed in much better 4 star hotels over the years but can't rally fault it. Rooms were small but had everything.

The hotel is in an ideal location for Glasgow city centre. Based at the border of shopping, food and culture there is not a better place to be. However the rooms are small and basic but given the location you won't be in the room for long. Friendly staff and getting the basics right help you forgive any compromises in room quality.

Function room was well laid out and private. Dinner was prompt, and bar staff were excellent. A good time had by all.

I stayed at your hotel for 4 days. It was very good, the room was nice and clean even though it might have had a fridge and been a little bit larger! Breakfast was good — I missed the cheese, though — everyone at the hotel was so helpful, the whole staff is wonderful. To top it all it is in the heart of Glasgow and restaurants and shops all around. No cabs needed — all within arm´s length. I look forward to being there again! Thanks!

I stayed here after our Christmas party night, also here. What a fab night. The hotel pulled out all the stops. Our night was great. The staff were friendly and up for a laugh. Really helpful too. The room was lovely. Beds comfy. The dance floor was a bit wee when everyone got on it but we squeezed in and had a great night. Well done Mercure. The party was great. I'll be back. Now for breakfast!
