Nice staff, clean rooms, very chill atmosphere. What more could you want from a hostel? The beds were alright, but the shower was the best one I've ever had in a hostel.

Lovely place. Best of all is the staff Ash and Mauro. Totally trying to do everything to make you happy. I have great memories of my stay there. The hostel, the staff, but also the great conversations I had with one of the other guests.

Great quiet and simple little friendly place to stay also right next to a Wetherspoons pub.

The patron was the nicest guy I've ever had as a patron. We felt very at home and the room was nice and had it's own bathroom which was nice and clean. It's worth every penny and more.

Good place, good value for money. Bit far from city center but there's a bus that basically drops you outside the door.

I absolutely loved the hospitality at alba hostel the minute I walked in the door I got a warm welcome it's an ideal location for the train and shops and it's an absolute bargain to stay here I will definitely be coming back at some point.

My son and I spent 2 nights at the Alba Hostel and our stay was lovely. We were treated extremely well, the private room was clean and spacious, and the price was very reasonable. I will stay here again next time I return to Glasgow.

Alba hostel was a great place to stay. The staff were all courteous and down to earth especially Mauro were trying their best to make my stay a pleasant one. The Wi-Fi connection was free and quite fast. They have a shared kitchen as well for you to cook Your Own meals. There is a huge TV room where you can just relax or meet new people who hang out there. The hostel is easily accessible by train from Anniesland station and even close to the bus stop which takes you to city centre. All in all I found it a nice alternative to hotels who charge you really ridiculous amounts per night. Like other hostels, you will share your room with 6 people. Also do check with the management for a discount if you intend to stay long term. Regards Xavier.

Quiet place away from the city, but right next to a train station. I was just looking for a good night's sleep so I did not mind. The beds were pretty squeaky which got annoying, but still least they were comfortable. 3 stars because it was a bit expensive compared to other offerings.

Absolutely brilliant, my host at Reception Mauro made me feel very welcome, I had a great two days stay in Glasgow, I’m going to miss this Hostel, Mauro is a great person, he even left me to the bus station on my way home, I didn’t want to leave Alba hostel, I just loved my stay there, excellent customer service and great people.

I give you 1 star because I can't give you 0. Terrible rooms, worst mattresses, walls and paper ceilings. All dirty and old. Not recommended.

This place is great. Warm welcome, easy access to everything, clean bathrooms, large lockers, quiet and peaceful. They have a parking lot too if you have a car. Very reasonable price and good quality hostel.

After a week traveling from hostel to hostel, I believe this was one of the best ones I went to. The owner amd receptionists were extremely kind and polite with us. I almost felt like home.

Just remember that it is an hostel and that your night is one of the cheapest in Glasgow and everything should be fine! I stayed there for a little more than a week and my experience has been mostly positive. The place is clean for an hostel (don't expect the tidiness of a Hilton, but still! ) and the staff is friendly. It's a quiet place, no big parties is the living room and the closest bar closes at 12 am, but you can make some friends there for sure if you are open to smoother ways to make some. I personnally met people there with who I want to stay in touch as long as I can! It is a bit far from the major attractions in Glasgow, but it is pretty easy to get there during the day either by train or on foot (Byres road and the Botanic Gardens are only a 30 minutes walk away). Definitely go there if you are in a mood for a cheap and good night sleep, to meet very interesting and nice new people from around the world and to enjoy the proximity of both City Centre and other destinations like Loch Lomond!

Best place for group stays nd very comfortable beds.

One of the lowest prices I found but still a good hostel, comfortable dorms and toilets with big lockers and kitchen and parking is available. It's location is in a quiet neighborhood so it is good for relaxing but still is very close to train and bus stops from which is easy to get to the city center in less than 15 minutes. On the down side the bunk beds are very noisy.

Very good place to stay. Very friendly people, it is very tranquil and Wi-Fi has good speed. I also learned about Roman culture. "De philosophia Latina: Et didici Marcus Aurelius"

Will highly recommend this Hostel almost based solely on the customer servive. The staff were very supportive and met all of my questions. I even had a job interview via Skype during my stay and they provide a quiet room to talk in.

Excellent hostel near Glasgow, friendly staff and clean bedrooms defenetly worth the stay.

Great hotel for your money. It's a good idea to have the beech, so it's cheaper, plus the large number of days gives you a nice discount.

Think I'll have to go to the physiotherapist after sleeping on that awful broken springed bed. Asked for something to be done and nothing was. Wifi not too bad, don't bother with the £2 breakfast, just some cereal and toast.

Alba Hostel has a very friendly staff and is very reasonably priced. It is well located, at roughly three miles from the city center. It is a long walk, but there is a bus stop and a train station with five minute walking distance, which more than makes up for the distance. My only complaint regarding Alba Hostel would be about the rooms. The needs ms are very basic, with bunk beds and lockers. If you are tall, I suggest this top bunk. The bottom bunk does not offer much head room sitting on the bed. The beds also creak with almost any movement and can be quite noisy.

Very accomodating staff, great location that is close to all kinds of little shops including a laundry service and a train station! The rooms are clean and the showers are hot. This place is perfect for backpackers or those who have a budget. This is an awesome hostel!

Coming from a party hostel, Alba was a nice change. It's owned by an Indian man who converted the house his kids grew up in to a traveler's haven. The layout and rooms are simple… not a lot of flash… but the you can't beat the accommodations for the price. The staff are friendly and helpful… had 0 problems during my 4 night stay. The hostel is located about a 45min walk from city centre… but there is also a bus. I enjoyed the walk myself (it's along a major road and easy to find).

Better off sleeping in the streets.

Very good location. Good atmosphere with staff but also and especially with other residents. The host is really comfortable and clean (except the kitchen. ).

Not happy. On late rooms I saw a photo of a single bed in a room, I clicked on a link that said "standard single room", as I thought it was a single room, I didn't realise it was a mixed dorm. If I had clicked on the more information it would have said, but the title "standard single room" should not have said "single" if it didn't have just one bed. I would not have booked here if I knew it was only dorms, and I'm stuck here for another four nights. :, (

Staying here from 28/1/15 to 2/1/15 found the staff to be very helpful and the other guests were warm and very welcoming. Cheap accommodation and a nice atmosphere in all parts of the hostel. Definitely coming back later in the year.

Lovely accomodation! Transport links are great with a train station just across the road and bus stops within 100 yds. The owner and staff is very welcoming and helpful. I noticed receiption open for almost all the day till late night. Rooms been clean everyday. Great victorian Building, although a bit away from city centre.

Overall, a very good place to stay — we stayed before starting the West Highland Way and found it to be good, comfortable, very well priced accomodation with a great location (10mins train from Milngavie (Start of the way) /Glasgow Queen St. ). Breakfast at £2 was basic, but helpful and the local morrisons offers good meals for £4 each, which is unbeatable.
