Came for afternoon tea & it was fabulous. 6 of us arrived to a very warm welcome. My 7 year old daughter had her very own kids afternoon tea with a milkshake, she was over the moon. Quality & quantities were excellent & staff couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great day. We will be back that’s for sure. 😀

Exceptionally helpful staff, first class precautions for Covid 19 and incredibly comfy beds. The whole place was scrupulously clean and I’d definitely stay again.

Friendly front of house and bar staff. Things still quiet as coming out of lockdown. Everyone so helpful, will definitely be back.

Had hen party here last weekend booked small back room and everything was perfect staff very welcoming and buffet was lovely special thanks to Sharon for all her help made sure we had everything we needed she's an asset to this place.

Room was far too noisy with karaoke and outrageously hot. Dirty toilet brush, full pedal bin, mouldy shower stall and the hallway reeked of urine for most of the stay. Also had my seven year old pinned against a wall by a deranged muzzled collie who was "only saying hello". We're saying cheerio.

What a beautiful place to stay, the hotel was stunning and the staff realy could not do enough for us, for me and my son this was one of the best places we have ever visited. Sad to leave there today but we will be back very soon, thank you for making us feel so at home.

Cannot praise the staff enough! We had our wedding reception here on the 4th of May our guests raved about the food (chicken curry/steak pie). The layout and decor was beautifully done and the staff could not do enough for us, big thank you to them for making our night feel really special
We also had the honeymoon suite which is massive and has its own dressing area! Totally recommend!

I was there for a funeral the other week. Sandwiches, sausage rolls and cakes were lovely however the girls clearly need some training. Some family members asked for dry sherry and rather than let them know they didn't have any they tried to give them port instead.

Terrific. Lovely spacious room with great shower and service and views. Breakfast lovely. Great location and the staff are great. Wonderful value for money.

Period building that has been refurbished and updated internally. Staff helpful, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is a self help choice of cereals. Coffee was a disappointment as it was instant granules. The fried breakfast was enough to keep me going till mid afternoon. The rooms are tastefully decorated with the bed being firm and comfortable. Live music is put on during most evenings.

Badly needs a proper refurbishment would not recommend this place. Lucky to get 2 star.

Fantastic place. Had a lovely sit down meal and the staff were friendly. Have been to a few performance nights, will definitely go to more.

Had a great afternoon at the Jam on Saturday with great entertainment. The venue is 1st class and staff very friendly. Drink prices are good as well.

You get what you paid for, after travelling the whole day we were slightly disheartened when it became clear our room was above the function room with live band, after going downstairs to the bar to ask what time the band would stop playing as we were above it and may as well have been in the function itself — we were told by the young lady anytime between 9 and 11 is normal as she shrugged her shoulders, nothing she could do… the hotel clearly is undergoing some sort of upgrading, but appears that silly things are not being completed. (our new PVC window still had its plastic wrapper on, but did not fit the hole the window went in so bad it didn't close to the point it opened itself like a door… Add to that the function room skylight was right outside along with general outdoor traffic etc you'd expect, but if window closed wouldn't be a problem, we had minor issues with the bathroom, which was incredibly small a larger person would struggle to use, there was no plug in the sink so hubby was unable to shave, dust and grime on the towel rail was thick. That said take off the cost of an OK breakfast and your left with a £34 room for 2, we wouldn't go back, although for the same price we had 4star accommodation in Penrith the night before. The custom house could be so luxurious and be full every night, yes its down the docks, but its also right beside the beautiful custom house. Would have happily paid more if standards all round were higher.

Had a lovely coffee and biscuits this morning at The Custonhouse, served by Shirley and staff, as this was our first visit, we where shown round the beautifully appointed premise s, looking forward to having afternoon tea here soon, thanks Shirley and staff.

Not good noisy dirty but you pay for what you get would not return.

Havn't stayed here only visited several times. Ideal. Location for theatre (20 m) away. Staff are friendly and food I have had has been good and cheerfully served.

Wonderful place to stay, very very clean, staff are an excellent crew, including the cleaning staff. Will not hesitate to visit again.

Have dined here previously & food good with selective menu. Attended for a function this week and admired the recent refurbished function room and restaurant area. Well worth a look see.

My boss stayed at this hotel for several weeks & introduced me to it, I was there for 6 weeks & just have to say that the staff were great very friendly & very helpfull, the food was good the rooms clean, steven & kay who own the hotel are fantastic & I spent a few nights at the bar with steven who told me about his plans for the hotel & they have very high hopes to turn this little place into somthing special, Mikes company will be using this hotel again in the future, myself I will be back at the end of july, I was lucky enough to get to know the staff & became part of the furniture, so I would like to wish them all the best & I would urge anybody to try this hotel, so steven, kay & the new baby, sharon, stacy, wullie, roberta, the other chef who I cant remember his name & to the people I forgot all the best thanks for everything.
