Great location with a fab view. Rooms are spacious and comfy. Exactly what was needed. Pub / Restaurant were great, even during a pandemic. Staff friendly and best of all, dog friendly. Had a great stay, would recommend!

Have just returned from our break. Rooms were spotless, food and drink were excellent and the staff were lovely. I would say maybe an extra member of staff would help as one person doing, bar, restaurant and reception seems crazy. I would definitely return.

Of service we received today. Waited 1.5hrs for our food to be told 1/2 way through our waiting time that they didn’t have half of what we had ordered. Quite rude staff and no explanation of why the food took so long and no real apology. Lovely bar but wouldn’t go back.

We have driven past here a few times and decided to stop for a meal, We were disappointed with this place, the decor was a little dated the service was very slow. Once I had ordered my my food I over heard the waiter telling the table next to me about the specials board which was never mentioned to me. I would have scored it lower but the waiter comparing black pudding to sausages made us laugh also while I was paying for the meal I complained I did not get a finger bowl with my mussels, the member of staff said you should have got one, I know but I did not. He then said but at least you had wet wipes, again I said no I did not get any, he just shrugged his shoulders, so I gave it an extra star for comical value.

Good restaurant and bar, the food is great and what you'd expect from the name (surf and turf). Great views in the evening. Worth the visit.

Watched England get knocked out of the World Cup on the big HD TV in the crowded bar. Superb food and service. Wanted dinner at half time and warned to order 20 mins before, but the nice young barman came to our table 20 mins before to remind us and take the order. My first ever seafood burger (served at half time) was a bit like a large Thai fish cake with that slight rubbery texture, and was moist, fishy & delicious, served with tasty sweet potato chips and salsa. My wife enjoyed the Rob Roy chicken on a mash & haggis tower in a creamy sauce. Room overlooking the car park was spacious with big bed & in bath shower. Great sea views at breakfast. Also a little lounge upstairs for residents to enjoy the sea view. You can see the Falls of Lora (the turbulent water as tidal sea and Loch Etive fight each other) just across from the Hotel. Can't fault to room, food or great service. On telling them my wife had to leave early before breakfast, they provided a packed lunch (breakfast) in a bag for her to take away. Brilliant!

Our B&B host in Taynuilt recommended the Oyster Inn for dinner. We turned up without a reservation and we're lucky to get a table by the window to enjoy the amazing sunset. The staff were all really friendly which makes a difference. The mushroom soup was up there with the best I've tasted, the fish and chip we're delicious too. Will definitely be on my list of places to eat at again when near Oban.

Was disappointed with oyster inn… rooms dated and required proper cleaning. Bathroom shower needing re grouted as damp evident. Our room was next to the hotels laundry room which was noisy from tumble dryer and smells from cooking in restaurant entered room when window open. Towels handed into room after we had checked in so room obviously not ready. Not full menu available for dinner, In morning the breakfast was not great… no milk available for cereals and after half an hours wait we got a poor excuse for a full cooked breakfast. Had asked for smoked haddock for breakfast but none available Toast come after the breakfast had been served and had beautiful setting but rooms need upgrading. I feel that better value for money could be found in other local hotels Disappointed.

Very clean and tidy with a very nice pub next door stayed in the highland room which was big airy comfy bed with a bath shower combo has good car park and the food was great especially if you like seafood with amazing views out the front too would definatly stay again didn't eat brekky so can't comment on that but I'm sure it would be brill too!

I want to start by saying that the location is lovely, and I certainly couldn't fault my starter, however I have had better experiences in a restaurant. I understand that arriving at a restaurant late on a Sunday you can expect to fand a dish or two they have run out of however for a seafood restaurant to run out of all but 3 seafood dishes I believe is somewhat poor planning, I was also rather disappointed that after visiting the toilet after my main course when I returned my table had been completely cleared of all dishes including my wine glass and my seat had been pushed back in under the table, while this may seem petty it very much felt as a subtle way to say that was my meal over and desert was not forthcoming. The reason I have given 3 star here and not 2 is that I believe that this restaurant when on form could easily be a 5 star experience and if I was spending time in the area in future I would certainly like to return and see if I have the same experience a second time as I doubt I would.

Had muscles which were fine, but accompanied bread was cold and had a strange texture (was listed as being freshly baked). Partners veggie burger was inedible, and accompanied sun blushed tomatoes were char grilled almost. Staff never came over to check on our meal even though my partner hadn't touched her meal for the vast majority of the time it took me to eat mine (and the place wasn't busy). Only got a half hearted sorry when we eventually complained. They did take the item off the bill, but only one of us had an edible meal.

Stayed here a number of times with work always the first place I try and book. Good rooms really comfortable and very clean. Food very good indeed the sea food always a winner. Staff are suburb can't do enough for you. I'll be back again.

I went here for my mum's birthday, it's a good atmosphere and the food is great (I'd suggest the sirloin steak it's £20.95 but worth every penny)

Nice place to stay, overnight stop for work in the area. Rooms comfy enough and have what you need. Restaurant (within the bar — main restaurant closed during the week as off season) serves good food too.

We booked the Oyster Inn after arriving at another hotel in Oban, which was not suitable. The receptionist was very helpful and polite. There are lovely views out over Oban Bay, and the Oyster Inn is just a cross the road from the shore line. The atmosphere in the Glue Pot restaurant was good; the bar staff were friendly, and the food was very pleasant. We ordered a vegetarian burger and steak pie which were delicious. We stayed in room Lorn which was a basic twin, but was clean and tidy. The walk in shower was very well received. Being a disabled traveller, it's surprising how many hotels still only have inaccessible bath tubs. Overall we were happy with our stay at the Oyster Inn, and would definitely recommend it for a short stay.

If you love seafood this is the place! I have had numerous events held here, my 40th birthday party, my Munro Compleation and it was with good reason I did so. The food is fantastic, the service great and the setting sublime. On my visit for lunch most recent visit I was taking my gran for a treat, considering it was a 3 hour drive each way just shows how keen I am on the place. I had the seafood chowder for starter and was a bit disappointed that the Cullen Skink was no longer on the menu. I needn't have worried. The chowder was superb, full of fish and deliriously creamy. My gran and mum sampled a bit and thought the same. Next up was Ocean Pie for me and Salmon fillet for the others. All mains were fantastic, my pie being almost overflowing with fish and freshly piped mash on top. I wish I could post pictures on here! A couple of sticky toffee puddings finished things off! And all this plus drinks for only £65! I had to check the bill to ensure everything was on it. I've been going here for a long time, sometimes years apart, I'll be going back again. I just found out they do weddings as well! 10/10 in my book… never disappoints.

Our entrees & mains were all fantastic, but if the staff aren't good you forget the food. Our servers were very very good, & we had a great night. Thank you very much, our 2nd to last night in Scotland & we will leave here with great memories.

Rustic Scottish vibe with excellent modern service and many delicious menu choices.

How the mighty have fallen. The Oyster Inn used to be a bastion of quality, revered and renowned in equal measure. It's now best avoided at all costs. Pre-packed food, frozen burgers being sold as "hand made", stale bread and a 45 minute wait for starters create an ambience of desperation and a complete and utter lack of interest. Couple this with staff who are either rude and surly or condescending liars, depending on your luck, and you start to get a feel for the kind of experience you can expect. Just don't. You'll have more joy in Nories fish and chip shop in Oban, and the food will be infinitely better.

We've stayed here three times, based entirely on the amazing experience our first time. Further visits have not disappointed. The rooms are comfortable, warm, and cozy, especially against a chilly breeze off the water. We've been very happy and slept well. The pub is a great spot to enjoy a glass of whisky before turning in at night. In the morning, the multi-course breakfast was a standout experience, and was the best I've ever had, besides the other breakfasts I've eaten here.

Appeared at 730 on a Friday night to see the restaurant in complete darkness. A little disheartened we went to the bar to eat. Left after a few minutes as it's poorly set out and the menu wasn't great. Typical pub food, but at restaurant prices. Will try again when I'm in the area IF they are open past 5…

Looks great. Nice layout but… Food well below expectations. Catch of the day was ordinary and small. Scallops cold and crouton dripping in oil — sent back. Disappointed.

Price is expensive for the food that you get, quality varied would I go again no.

We stopped in here after ending up in Oban after a drive. The prices are reasonable, the food was lovely and the staff were really nice!
