My husband and I visited to celebrate a 10 year anniversary. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we checked in. Our room was very kindly upgraded — which was amazing! We particularly loved the vinyl player. The room was clean and well presented and the breakfast in the morning was beautiful! Thank you so much for a lovely stay and will recommend to our friends and family 😍

Fabulous Sunday Lunch, cooked to perfection, delicious flavours and fresh ingredients, fab service the staff are so friendly too, with the most stunning views to enjoy through lunch and the most perfect trendy bar lounge to enjoy a rest and a cocktail afterwards! We are already booked to come back… and stay this time!

Always come here for special get-always. So good to be able to escape to the tranquility of the Cottage in the Wood for my birthday. Staff are lovely, cosy room and views you’ll never forget!

I haven’t even dined at Cottage in the Woods and already I’ve been given a bad impression of the venue! My husband & I wanted to make a group booking for Christmas 2019. Any question I asked seemed too much effort for them to answer, however, I saw past that and was about to confirm the reservation when I was told I would have to pay the full amount for each guest upfront! How absurd! Not only would that be incredibly difficult to do but why on earth would anyone pay IN FULL for a service they hadn’t yet received?!?! I was more than happy to pay a deposit per guest but certainly not a substantial amount! Won’t ever set foot in there…

We had a great three night stay. 3 of us across two lovely rooms in the Coach House. Lovely food (only criticism was that the menu didn’t change at all across our 3 nights, and only one vegetarian main). A great location and a very warm welcome. Thank you.

Beautiful views, helpful and polite staff, good food and drink. We had the afternoon tea, on an outside table, very peaceful and pretty setting. The pastries and sandwiches were great, service with the smile on a lovely summer day, what more can you want?

This is my all-time favourite getaway from the hustle and bustle of life in London. The views and amenities are spectacular, but what really makes this place special is the attention to detail in the finishings, the menu and the attentive service — a testament to the commitment to quality and providing an all-around wonderful experience offered by the new owners. They really care about their guests' and diners' enjoyment, and it really shows. Would recommend to anyone needing a refreshing and nourishing country break, a lovely lunch or a special occasion meal out!

Have stayed here previously and had a wonderful experience. The breakfast especially is delicious with the best view from the dining room. We recently came for a Sunday roast and it did not disappoint; exceptionally tasty! Will definitely be back!

Stunninng location with gorgeous views, easy access into Malvern town centre. Staff were absolutely brilliant — relaxed, friendly and always on hand to make your stay comfortable and special. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely night away for anniversary celebration. The room was perfectly positioned with wonderful views. Staff were very welcoming and the food was very good. Good menu selection and attentive staff. We'll definitely return.

Superb every time. Others may disagree, but I think this to be the best combination of venue, views, food and drink in the Midlands. The terrace overlooking the Worcestershire valley to the Cotswolds is lovely at sunset, the selection of gins at the bar is strong, but the food is sensational. Go on, treat yourself.

The food was excellent — clearly a competent chef. The menu was lovely, although a few dishes do need to evolve a bit as aspects are obviously missing. Sadly the service was appalling — friendly, but upwards of 20-40 min wait between every course and every drinks order. When you're paying this much for a meal it is unacceptable, no matter how good the food. Sad really, and hopefully it will improve… but there are far better mid and top end restaurants in Malvern at present.

I suspect the lack of reviews reflects visitors opinions. It’s not so bad that you need to slate it but at the same time it’s not good enough to shout about. We had lunch there yesterday, Fathers Day. Restaurant staff are well below standard for a restaurant of this quality (and were when we went on Mother’s Day 2017). We had to chase up extra bread for the starters, and were not offered any to go with the soup. We had to chase up our vegetables whilst our meat sat going cold (the waitress went off and delivered desserts to another table having bought our mains? ) The dessert menu was ok but the portion of chocolate brownie was laughable. This restaurant needs to decide if it’s up market or not and then staff it with the correct quality of staff.
The three best assets are the quality of food, the chef (s) and Jake. Excellent welcome and service from this young man throughout… but he can’t do it all!

Lovely location, comfortable, great breakfast, but first bedroom suffered some kitchen fridge noise for the light sleeper. Moved to another room, very pleasant. Would visit again.

What a lovely experience. The staff are friendly, relaxed and helpful while being very efficient. The hotel is beautiful and the views and surrounding area are fantastic. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

It's a beautiful hotel in a great location. Eight of us enjoyed a lovely traditional afternoon tea as part of a 30th Birthday celebration, and the view was magnificent. We needed doggy bags as we couldn't finish the food, which was too good to leave behind!

A boutique hotel with a fantastic heritage. A very modern ground floor with restaurant and bar. Upstairs the bedrooms are dated but understand are due for refurbishment in the near future. Food is fabulous although towards high end. Bar is well stocked.

In process of being updated. Lovely setting with nearby paths to walk the Malvern hills. Restaurant and bar provide a relaxing setting for an evening.

This is more formal than a lot of restaurants but not so stuffy as to put you off. The service is top notch and the standard of food is good. The prices are quite expensive for the area but probably reflected by the quality. I had cuttlefish and chorizo to start which was delicious and then the pork wellington, and actually I thought the pork was a little dry. For 3 of us having 2 courses and only 1 alcoholic drink the bill was 110 pound so I thought a little expensive. During the day the views would be amazing but at night obviously you cant see much.

Beautiful views from atop the Malverns, very friendly staff, innovative evening menu and generous breakfasts. No traffic noise and a very comfy bed in warm room… if you are looking for a rest and a good night's sleep, this is the place for you. The only things that could've been improved were the slightly chintzy decor in the Beech Cottage room we stayed in and the hilarious lack of water pressure in the shower over the bath, which may have been from being so high up the hill.

It was valentine's Day and I had been informed via phone that there was an alacarte menu available. On the night it was not… They only offered a 25 percent discount for less than half of the menu. I am very disappointed and will never go there again.

Very friendly staff. Lovely accommodation. Good restaurant based on English cuisine and quite adventurous.

Mixed feelings — 3.5 for me! Firstly, what a fab location! Lovely mains and starters on the Sunday lunch menu BUT the dessert options were really very poor. Shame as it was a big let down at the end of the meal. Beef and chicken very good indeed.
The service was unfortunately, a tad poor. Literally had to chase up everything with a 3 course meal taking well over 2 hours. Kids meal was tiny… my 4 yr old wanted bread after he’d finished his pasta… But… what he did have was actually very good! The bar was closed which was a shame as we’d specifically asked to use it and weren’t told it would be closed… there were 12 of us waiting to use it and I feel we should have been informed on booking.
Potentially could be fab though — would try again but will check menu first next time!

Lovely location and can imagine on a clearer day there would be spectacular views. Very nice room, polite friendly staff and amazing food. The only criticism was the service in the restaurant was poor due to it being understaffed. Would highly recommend staying here, we will be returning.

Stayed here 9th December. Found it utterly charming! Food was fantastic and my wife enjoyed the local white wine. It snowed heavily overnight and the staff went way beyond the call of duty clearing snow to ensure we could leave safely.

This is the perfect place for an afternoon tea at the Malverns. The view is amazing and the decor is true class. Staff was very polite and ensured we had everything we needed. It was easy to drive up as there were plenty of spaces available. Will definitely come back.

An amazing location. Super yummy clotted cream. And for the first time we got crunchy scones, which was a super experience. Loved that. Fabulous views. Great service. Very nice salmon sandwich. Tad disappointed to find packaged tea being served there. Would have expected their own loose leaf blends. But overall… Superb.

I enjoyed my stay even though I was given a room in the coach house that was facing the back where the entrance slope was against my window and I looked out onto the driveway and rock wall. Also it was beside the front door which meant you heard everyone coming in. It is room 27 so be warned. I just hope I paid less than anyone else. I also lost my key and went to reception at 10 30pm to report it, I was then given another key without showing any ID or being asked my name… that is bad security.
The room was clean and tidy but I didn't like the bath / shower arrangement as I am 73 and slightly wobbly on my legs. A walk in shower would have been nicer.
Breakfast was good and tasty and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful.
Parking a large car is not easy as there is limited space and the disabled spaces were all taken.
I will certainly stay there again and ask for one of the rooms overlooking the fabulous view.

The views are outstanding and it's a delightful hotel for anyone who wants to visit the Malvern Hills. The location is a couple of miles out of town and so you can expect peace and quiet. The restaurant and hotel have recently changed hands, which has bought new life to the hotel which was lacking in lustre in recent years. The new owners have announced upgrades and we're very excited about this news.

We stayed overnight on August 29/30 and having stayed before, found it as ever a truly enjoyable time. Our room (in the Pinnacles) was very roomy and had fabulous views. Dinner on Saturday evening was up to your customary delicious best — your chef is brilliant. And our waitress (Vivienne) was not only extremely efficient, but really friendly too — she added to our relaxed and enjoyable evening. Yours is a truly unique hotel in its location and also in the "unstuffy" and relaxed atmosphere that you encourage. As new owners, we hope you only make any changes for the better, though how that can be achieved we cannot begin to imagine.
