After a slight mix up with our booking we couldn't have wanted anything more. Our Christmas Dinner was fantastic and the staff were amazing. I would definitely recommend to any friends or family.

Absolutely love this place! All staff are amazing! Especially the main man Khalifa! He goes above and beyond to make sure your welcomed and your experience is top notch! Food is absolutely beautiful as is afternoon tea! We are back here all the time and love it its like a second home to us xxxx.

We came for breakfast quite late but with the kind service of staff, they managed to make us our breakfast! It was stunning! Great staff very polite! Overall great service! Definitely would recommend!

Ordered from the Francos menu last week and was super impressed so ordered again this week. Cheaper than a 12 inch normal takeaway pizza and 100x better. Best place in the area for takeaway Italians.

Just picked up 2 19" pizzas with skins. Absolutely beautiful, great prompt service and friendly staff.

Today we had the medium carvery, fantastic value for money (£10 each). Food was probably the best I've had The kids had the childrens carvery and would 100% recommend to anyone. Fantastic decor inside and out and the staff were attentive and welcoming. Will definitely be returning ❤️

On of the best hotels iv been in amazing staff and food is great we would stay hear again in a heartbeat if your travelling to this area it’s a no brainier you must say hear 5 star.

Excellent last minute stay at The Portland Hotel, rooms were beautifully decorated & very clean. Breakfast was lovely with a large selection including a vegetarian option for one of our party. Would highly recommend & thank you again for accommodating us at very short notice.

Best place for Sunday breakfast. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The buffet style cooked breakfast is absolutely gorgeous! even better, it's dog friendly and our Springer spaniel Barney can personally recommend the sausages!

Came with the family on the 21st October 5 adults and 4 kids, the Sunday dinner was great carrots were a little on hard side but I am not bothered about that.
The meat Pork and Beef cooked really well.
I have heard complaints of the guy who stands at the front being arrogant, but he entertained my two 3 year olds when they decided they didn't want to eat any more.
This is my 4th time and I will be back again, thanks once again.

Excellent food great staff. Customer service top class. Do lovely sunday lunches which is a carvery. Dont worry if you cant finish all your lunch as the staff will put it in a container for you to take home. Childrens play area outside and a patio to sit out. Or eat out if you wish. Love this place.

The food here is perhaps the best carvery I've ever had. Excellent! The medium size is huge and big enough I couldn't finish. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Excellent service large dinners plenty veg to help yourself to generous portion of meats.

Breakfast was at a basic quality, 4 of us went this morning. On cooking the toast we noticed there were no plates to use, when asked for one we were told to use serviettes, asked if we could have a plate the reply was they had court people using plates to get free breakfast for children, after explaining and showing we had no children numerous times with us staff was still reluctant to allow us to have one. Also on return for 2nds and asking for a clean plate was told not allowed. Staff were not very friendly or accommoding.

Very friendly staff and the food is very good. I did notice their dishes could be a bit cleaner and the hotel could definitely do with some renovations.

This was our second visit, and it was as comfortable and as hospitable as our first. Tip: book direct for a better rate.

Nice place for lunch. Good portions from the menu selection and fantastic cakes in the cabinet for afterwards. Friendly team working there too.

Decided to try the breakfast here today with the family 5 adults and 7mth old baby. Alarm bells should of rang from the start. 1st the price £2.50 for unlimited tea/coffee 4 times my husband went for coffee there wasnt any. Asked if I could have a plate to put an egg on for our 7mth old and was told id have to pay as she was technically eating. Food was ok if you like it hard or brick hard. Then our table to be cleared when 1 of the group was still eating as they had to sort out for the new brunch menu starting. Very disappointed as we've ate here a few times on an evening and the food and service was spot on. We definitely wont be back anytime soon.

The rooms are spotless and are great value for money. Tracey will go out of her way to make sure your stay is perfect! Amazing hospitality from the morning staff that are there.

The Sunday carvery was very good and reasonably priced. It does get very busy so book a table. The car park fills up fast, but there is on street parking available if it's full.

Chairs a little low for the table we were seated at. But the food (carvery) was gorgeous. Staff very welcoming.

Guinness is bad, food is bad. Prices are inflated. There used to be room in the car park until they expanded into motel business and took up most of the car park round back. The cakes look great though but I'd recommend Willow Farm which is Cramlington/Dudley for better pub food (and cake). Can't remember if the Guinness is any better over there (probably not).

Fabulous place! Will definitely be returning. The staff treat you more like old friends than customers. We had to travel a long way to get to The Portland as I was having surgery locally. Nothing was too much trouble for the team. They were available for me to have an earlier than normal breakfast, without making me feel like an inconvenience. The evening meal (prior to the early breakfast) was delicious. And the staff very friendly.
I had to stay in hospital slightly longer than expected, but the team were able to accommodate my parents staying extra nights and they were more than happy to stay there.
The rooms were spacious and clean, and very comfortable.
As previously mentioned we will be returning, and look forward to it.

Went for Sunday Carvery there was a short wait to get seated but we were kept updated by a very friendly guy. Once seated we chose the medium size plate what a mistake that was both me my female friend and 2 guys we were with couldn't finish our plates. The food was lovely very we'll priced and we enjoyed all of the food. Will most defiantly go back.

It's good for a night out if you're looking for pub grub. Food is generally good and plenty of it. Pleasant surrounding and good beer. Not too expensive so worth a look.

The portions you get are very good, I was there with my friends on Thursday night and I noticed they had their new menu out, me being a non meat eater I look straight away at the veggie options and I nearly choked on my drink when I saw the veggie burger was £12, I think that is shocking it must be massive that's all I can say as I refused to pay that price, the pizzas and everything else has gone up as well, good job the food is good, the place is done out really well but the ladies toilets were freezing must invest in some heating!

Dropped some balloons off for a christening and decided to stay for breakfast. Will definetly be back. £6 for unlimited breakfast included unlimited tea and toast. You couldn't make it for that! Excellent choice of food!

Christmas party was very poor… 3 types of hot buffet foods sliced pork. Chilli dish and a tikka. Not enough variety of buffet food. Dj playing old christmas depressing music he had to be told to put some decent music on. Bar staff were lovely but ran out of spirits. Paid £25 for this party was looking forward to it very disappointed ended up leaving early to go elsewhere.
