One night stay,
On arrival the lady on reception was lovely! Couldn’t fault her attentiveness. Food was also great,
Was made aware that breakfast was £8 if booked before 10pm, so we booked for 6 people.
Come morning apparently we didn’t book, so it was £12.95 pp with awful food, I could have made it better myself with products from £1shop. The member of staff working the morning was an awful customer facing member of staff. She was blunt, rude, unaccomadating and just general a horrible person.
The rooms where ok for one night, although there was mould in the rooms, also the window didn’t open in one.
Outside one of the rooms was noise at 11.30pm and again at 5.00am considering we where shoved in a room at the end of the corridor and down stairs with 3 babies this was unacceptable.
I am awaiting a call back from the manager and hope for some kind of refund as this was an unacceptable stay.

Rooms smelt when we first came in. The shower was not working and when we realised this in the morning the staff were beyond useless. They did not apologise they offered nothing for the inconvenience.
The girl on reception said she spoke to her manager and could not offer a refund of any type however when we wanted to speak a manager she said there was none available.
Rude incompetent staff, cheap budget hotel which is overpriced for what you get.
They also have a stupid rule where you can’t eat and drink in the rooms however provide a kettle with teabags and biscuits. What kind of hotel doesn’t allow eating and drinking in a room?!
DO NOT STAY HERE!

Great place friendly bar staff on the disco inclusive nights.

Room was ok the bathroom wasn't to the best standard floor tiles were dirty and coming up in places, staff weren't the friendliest, breakfast was nice and dining area nice and clean.

Skirting boards was filthy, really runned down rooms, bar man tried to charge me £15 for 3 coca colas. Eventually he seen sense. Uncomfortable beds (think laying on concrete), asked receptionist for the Wi-Fi password, she couldn’t be bothered to look at me or stop typing on the computer as she told me. No lifts, travel cot looked uncomfortable with no mattress, my twin child spilt something and charged us £30 odd. Blinds were a thin piece of fabric which didn’t fit and could see sunlight out of at 6am, curtains seen better days. Flimsy shower head above a small bath. Avoid like the plague.

She was rude, impolite and could not explain me well why I was charged in advance 2 times. To do so I showed her my bank account movements sms which she completely ignored and told me “if I show you a sms saying a pig can fly, do you believe? ”
People like this do not deserve to have a job dealing with Customers, specially after a trip over more than 10 hours.
Luckily one of her colleagues was nearby and explained what mistake the hotel made by charging me twice and how would be sorted out.

Great place staff very friendly, dinner exceptional and so was breakfast, defo coming back and definitely reckoned to family n friends.

I would highly recommend AGAINST booking this absolute hell hole! Booking. Com should not be advertising this hotel, I am currently in the process of trying to get them removed from their recommendations. Terrible customer service: manager never on site and no member of staff there are authorised to deal with complaints! The hotel was dirty, dirty bedding and hair on the tiles in shower, rooms not sign posted correctly so took 4 attempts to find our room, lazy receptionist wouldn’t take the time out to show us just terrible directions! Loud music from the function room until 1.30 in the morning and overall the worst hotel I have stayed in … ever!

As soon as we entered, we noticed something was off about the smell of our room (room 415), and 2 friends who were staying in a different room noticed exactly the same about their room. Throughout our 4 night stay, I felt abnormally itchy during the day, only to discover a bed bug in my bed on the last morning. I checked the edges of my bed sheets to find more. The cleanliness of the room was really poor, the windows hadn't been cleaned in a long time and the shower temperature and pressure was also super inconsistent. If you get to the hotel late at night, be prepared to wait outside in the cold for 10-15 minutes till the people working the front desk get back from their smoke breaks, ignoring the bell several times. As we left, I let the front desk know about the bed bugs and they said the manager was currently away and I should e-mail to get in touch about potentially getting a partial refund, however, after several attempts to get in touch over the course of 2 weeks, I have yet to receive a single response. Will avoid this place like the plague in future trips to Birmingham since it caused way more hassle than was worth.

Stayed here last night, was only place who had a room suited for 3 people! Booked online, payments was declined which was a shock as had the money, when arrived was greeted by a young girl who wasn’t the slightest bothered, ask to pay as problem with my online payment & she charged us £99 deposit for the room then another £99 for the stay?! Which was a little shocking, we then asked if we could pay the £99 in cash so it didn’t take 10 working days to get refunded and she said no I’ve already said no, you have to pay like this! So with no option we had to pay, which I’ve never had to put the same amount deposit down and the room price? She was very rude and not helpful at all, the next morning we went to hand our keys back & was greeted by the same girl no hello or how was everything! Just the question of oh so you’ll want your deposit back then?! Ermmm yes? Of course, she then said I’ve requested it but take 10 days? Room was standard, the shower was terrible, leaking all night & wouldn’t work properly, windows hard to open. Very disappointed to be honest, just now the waiting game of the deposit back then!

Basic hotel. Bar didnt open till 3pm and closed before 11pm. They had no ice at all while we were there. Accomodation was reasonably priced for what we got.

A very basic hotel … wouldn't call it a palace. No air con… basic premier inn or travel lodge is much better. Moody staff. Avoid. If possible.

The breakfast is okay. The room was quite small, but clean. I am not so satisfied with the water pressure of the shower. One evening we had several fire alarms but no information from staff. Parking is very good. Either behind or in front of the hotel.

Decent hotel for a budget price. Excellent food, BT sport, nice bar open till late. Awful beds but overall decent for the price.

Beautiful heritage listed hotel. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in lovely wood panelled room overlooking the courtyard. Non-smoking rooms a plus, but this led to a collection of smokers in the courtyard outside our room window morning and night. Rooms comfy but very small. Helpful reception staff.

Great location, close to Birmingham centre and easy to find and reach via public transport. The family room in the west wing was spotless, almost brand new! The staff were welcoming and friendly enough but didn't trust us with food in our rooms and denied us cutlery and plates. Made us feel like boarding kids. The cooked breakfast was small, but the cereal/pastries and fruit were plentiful and fresh. A massive plus was the fresh coffee at breakfast! All in all, a good stay!

The appearance of the place was nice initially. The check in was ok. The breakfast is far from nice. It's being served buy some ladies that they're not even looking at you. They ask what do you want to eat like you've done them something wrong. Very unprofessional. Very cold. No one smiles. Maybe their being paid bad for a job they hate because definitely that's the feeling I am getting. Plate is brought on your table, no eye contact, no question asked. I ordered just the beans and mushrooms from the full English breakfast because I am eating vegan. It came in a very small portion, not even thinking to compensate for the bacon, sausages, eggs etc. That I do not eat.

Lovely hotel great breakfast and wonderful staff only let down needs a spruce up and better mattress.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Was perfect for an overnight stay at a cheap rate.

Issues with booking in. The man who booked us in was very blunt, rude and didn’t seem to want to check us in. Which made me personally feel un comfortable staying in the hotel. Some staff are nice and made us welcome but first impressions and arrival we’re awful. Room was clean, tidy, basic but had everything you needed. Close to main road and not far from most places. I wouldn’t consider booking again due to the un welcoming welcome I received when booking in. But thank you for allowing me to stay in your hotel. Sorry if had to start off the way it did.

Some of the staff are nice, some are not too polite, they open our room while we are still in the room. The room just okay, the bathroom clean, but dont expect that they have separate location of the room with the lobby. We have to walk out of the receptionist area to get into our room. The hotel did not provide the toiletteries in the room, just the liquid soap in a bottle for shower and shampoo. The location is OK, close from everywhere, in the main road.

The room was spacious and good value for money, no food unfortunately as it's Christmas, but lots available within the area of the hotel.

Supershocked hotel in a quaint atmosphere!

Nothing special, far from a palace, man at reception didn't seem to really understand what he was doing, room OK but a bit dark, otherwise alright. Edit: I have been here again since and not much has changed, not particularly professional or that interested in me when I arrived and otherwise very basic. I would probably stay here again if there weren't other better options for the same price.

Location of place is good, generally is ok! We booked months in advance and they didn’t even have a room for us sorted and wasn’t going to put us and two other friends next to eachother. They were finding a room for us as to what was left as available on their computer — the last ones despite we booked far in advance. The rooms we had were very small and dark nothing like the ones shown in the pictures — which look lovely, it was really cold ; the one room was full of cobwebs and looked like an attic especially with the main light not even having a shade on it made it even more so like an attic/shed. Bed wasn’t the best but can’t expect too much from a hotel short stay. Was woken up at 4.45 am from a fire alarm as I’m sure everyone else in the building was too, when checking out there was no apology for the disturbance. Personally would not recommend this hotel.

Well situated for Birmingham City. Beds narrow, but comfortable and clean. As was all areas even though reception, bar and dining are is in need of TLC. Good selection for breakfast, well presented and hot, requested more toast which was cooked as required another bonus.
Would recommend and use again.

I used this hotel for a night and it was okay. There was no fuss checking in or out. Rooms were basic and staff were okay. I decided to use the hotel again however this time we noticed the staff on shift giving us odd looks. Our faces weren't blue and our hair wasn't purple. I could only think it was because we are an interracial couple (white and asian). The room had already been paid for online (same as the previous time I stayed here) however this time they wanted the card to be present when they didn't on our previous stay. I felt this was done on purpose to make things difficult for us because they disapproved of us. I shall not be returning again.

Lovely clean and well equipped room, good shower and body and hair gel provided. Kettle, drinks, hairdryer, iron and board etc plus TV all provided. Lovely comfy double bed in our room looking out over the rear courtyard and adjacent to the function room being used this week for dinning due to some renovations being done. Good car parking front and rear and we'll priced for the accommodation. Restaurant and bar on site too Negatives. Our room was near the communal doors between stairs so you could hear every one at all times plus chatter from below in the courtyard. Not a problem to us but walls and floors are not sound proofed Toilet roll needs upgrading to 3ply as what was used was tacky and disintegrating so false economy as you need to use double plus but still problematic On arrival we were told breakfast was 7-10am on day 2 and checkout we came down at 9.30 to be told that we were too late as they only serve until 9am! We were allowed a basic continental breakfast begrudgingly.

The first room we checked into smelt of cigarette smoke so strongly we asked to change rooms where we were put into a bigger, non-smelly room. The breakfast however lets the whole place down. Poached eggs were rock hard and ‘continental’ breakfast very poor choice of items. They charge £12.95 for breakfast per person which for that price you should expect reasonably high quality food products.

Pleasant stay and good that the rooms are set back from the main road. Looking a bit tired and could do with a face lift in some areas. Great breakfast and price if booked in advance.

A generally unpleasant experience. The person on check in was disinterested and unhelpful regarding a complication with the booking. The room was facing a busy and noisy road which made sleep difficult for the first few hours. The breakfast was quite average — although in a nice room. The person on check out was far more congenial, but I would struggle to find much to recommend about this place.

Shower pressure in our room was appalling, room smelt musty, sink didn't drain and our friend had a noisy room, making it difficult to sleep. Whole hotel feels like it needs a renovation/redecoration, not just a part repaint. Staff at reception upon arrival was aloof, unfriendly. Hotel expensive for what it is. Breakfast average: cooked options not so good (eggs overcooked, quality of produce not great. ). Location could be better.

Lovely old building but then so is the deco. Most areas need painting and much of the furniture in the bar is worn and old. Furniture in the rooms are also old fashioned… and not in a good way.

Worst hotel stay ever! The GM Mr Singh had the record highest for WORST customer service personnel of any business and I felt so sorry and embarrassed for the owners. The profoundness of his rudeness was simply shocking, whilst a lowly clean employer displayed a prowess of customer service that should have been the lectured to the high and mighty GM, (General Manager). sure recorded it for his bosses. What a shame! Pride they say goes before a fall.

Great staff good size room comfy bed and a great bar.

The staff seem really overworked and are constantly on their feet. The place is quite small meaning things often spill over you or you get nudged by staff at tight corners. Staff often get told to do overtime without warning so are quite tired and this reflects in their work. Some staff are unhappy at going the extra mile for customers (or even pursuing their standard expectations at all) meaning other staff have to cover their work in order to satisfy customers, thus also reflecting their work at times.

Will do for one or two nights, but tired furniture and decor. Breakfast service was very slow. Same woman was manning reception and taking breakfast orders.

Convient position just outside city centre but close enough to get to busy Broad Street. Food is especially good — the chicken tikka and Masala fish are a firm favorites. The rooms and public areas have lots of character.

Very clean, good food, easy to find, plenty of parking. Staff are very accommodating for any specific needs. Rooms are compact, no air con or fridge but decent enough shower and televisions. Free Wi-Fi included with purchase.

Good value rooms clear and comfortable. I did have a problem with the first room I was given but this was resolved straight away with no fuss. We were attending a function there and the function room was hot and seemed not to have air-conditioning. Breakfast was nice although a little small for a full English. The staff were all very nice and attentive. The pictures I have added were for a £55 room this was the first room I was allocated, see if you can spot the problem lol.

The location was very convenient to get into the centre of Birmingham. The room was alittle small but very clean and tastefully decorated. In the room was a flat wall mounted Tv. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer and coffee making facilities with some biscuits. The bathroom was modern with floor to ceiling tiles and a double shower with all toiletries provided. The staff we friendly, efficient and welcoming. A full English breakfast was provided as part of our booking which was lovely. You could also help yourself to cereal, pastries and juice. The hotel also provides a bar and hot food at their restaurant. I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it.

Was very disappointed. Firstly staff just ignored me when I walked in to be seated. When seated, service was poor. Totally ruined the experience. Although, I rang up to check to see if the hotel is suitable for children; staff are not welcoming to children to either. Staff were very rude and did not appreciate that children like to wonder and touch things. Find the customer service bizzare! This is place is only good if you want to share pictures of your tea / cake / smoking cocktails on Facebook or Instagram otherwise it's just not worth it. Would not go again.

Good cocktails and they also do a really good meat board. Brilliant for a quick bite.

I recently went here for afternoon tea with my mother, after seeing some great reviews online. I work in the hospitality industry and get to experience a lot of afternoon teas (lucky me), so I always have quite a high bar. I must say, this is one of the most lovely afternoon tea experiences I have ever had. The setting was absolutely beautiful, the staff were attentive without being overbearing and the actual afternoon tea itself was delicious and beautifully presented. We opted for the Moseley Serve, which included a gin cocktail served in a dainty teacup/cocktail glass hybrid. It was little touches like this that really elevated the experience. It was just lovely from start to finish and we rolled out the door, full of tea, cake and cocktails.

Booked a table. 3 weeks in advance was called 4 to 5 times in those 3 weeks to see if we were still coming. When we arrived at 8pm the time we booked. Another party of 4 in front of us. Who we quite clearly heard say we haven't booked. Was given our table. The staff were rude and clearly lied to us. I would definitely not recommend any one to go there.

Looks nice inside and food was average… had fish and chips and both were a quite dry and batter was over cooked but it was all reasonably priced… breakfast was ok but had a lot better full english without having to pay extra for it. I was only there as a brief tourist and the staff were good but room was musty and bathroom cieling was hanging down out of its socket and personally would have liked more wall sockets as there was only a double which was near the door. Wouldnt stay there again.

Urgent warning* This hotel employs a shameful practice known as 'pre authorising' your card which means they request payment from your bank prior to your arrival THEN charge you the same amount when you check in. So if your room is £50 for example, it will cost you £100. The £50 pre authorisation amount will be returned to your account but not for 7 WORKING DAYS! So please be aware however much you spend on rooms at this hotel it will be doubled, half of it you will be refunded in 7 days. Ridiculous and disrespectful in my opinion, regardless of the hotel' appearance and facilities I will not be staying here again.

Service wasnt great. Room wasnt great. Stay did not reflect the price we paid. Single glazed windows facing the Hagley Road means we heard traffic all night and the room was cold.

Decent enough for what we paid (£64 for a twin room). Beds were comfy and room was a good size. All very basic but did the job. Wifi didn't work very well but I got 4g anyway so it didn't really matter. Location reasonable enough and the free parking is a definite perk.

The staff are miserable. Breakfast very average coffee is vile. Small rooms. If your staying in the block next to the hotel you have to give reception your name room number on the intercom before they let you in the main door if your lucky. 3 visits back to reception so far as I could not get through the door as she could not understand numbers strange one. Loads of other hotels on the road stay in them not this one you have bean warned!

The building was half done with paint and half complete floors. Our room had paint on some furniture and the bathroom door didnt shut because it didnt fit. The shower didnt work and was either scolding or freezing.

Stayed here for 2 days with my family (4 of us) in the family room which has got one double bed and 3 single beds. Must say that the room was very spacious and, comfortable beautiful, ideal for families.

Food great room not too bad nice staff. Could do with updating otherwise great place to stay for £43 per night for single room.

Always stay when I need to stop over in Birmingham, can't fault, good bar, breakfast, clean rooms, top class and good price.

AWesome day brilliant rooms nice and cosy. Delicious food and a great place really good place enjoyed alot. Free Car parking and Wi-Fi which was brill great sightseeing in birmingham loved it. Nice kind staff. Cofee and tee making machine brill. Bathroom nice and clean and hot or cold water no probelem. A perfect place to stay. Not loud in the coridors with children. Brill bar. Air con works perfectly, hairdryers tvs awesomeGreat resturants near I love 207 bengal delight and malabar delicious foods are served. Not much of a busy road great place to eat outside with tables and umbrellas. Brilliant view overhead. Super place. Definataly coming here again.

My husband and I stayed here and would highly recommend to anyone on a short stay visiting Birmingham. Our room was ideal for a couple, not too big not too small, it was comfortable and cosy. The decor was upto date and modern. The bed was very comfortable and we both had a delightful goodnight sleep. The staff members were friendly and polite. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed last week I was greated by friendly staff and the room were clean modern and comfortable. Will def be staying again.
