Overall, stay was disappointing. Based on other reviews and pictures, we booked under the assumption it was a good value. However, that was not the case. The front desk and lobby area appear to be recently remodeled and look nice. However, make your way past the fireplace and the hallway leading to the rooms is hot and muggy. Our room left much to be desired. It had a weird smell and was pretty out dated. The carpets also need a cleaning because my feet got dark from walking barefoot for a few minutes.

Unbeatable value. Highly recommended this new, clean, comfortable, safe hotel. As nice as any higher priced accommodation plus free parking and shuttle. Very pleasant staff. I booked online and was very pleased with the whole experience. I'll be back!

So I thought this was a standard pretty fancy hotel room and was going to rate it for stars. I open the closet to hang up my jacket and I found a sweet Hot Wheels racing car in it it's kind of a fancy racing car with a big spoiler in a futuristic looking body. The emblem kind of makes it seem like a Mazda. This is why I am giving this hotel 5 stars. It probably sucks for whatever kids stayed here before me and left his sweet Hot Wheels car in the closet but it's awesome for me because now that car is mine and I'm going to take him back to the office with me tomorrow and brag to everyone how it sounded sweet Hot Wheels car in my hotel room.

Scam! When we first stayed in the hotel we thought it was horrible on the outside, we checked in and were impressed by how modern it was! When we checked out we were pleased with the stay. When we came back home we got a charge from them for $250! We call and ask why and they say that’s a smoking fee! We try and explain to them that no one in my family smokes and they go to the next level of lying and say that a “house keeping manager” went inside and smelled smoke! Ridiculous and a complete lie! There are other reviews on here where they’ve done the same thing! Complete bull, you can easily spend that money somewhere nicer and that isn’t a complete scam!

Great stay.! Lovely decor, clean and modern. Staff was terrific and it was close to amenities. Definitely would stay again.

Wonderful service! Employees were extremely kind and helpful. Attended a 3 day event downstairs and it was well taken care of, refreshments, cleanliness and I would love to go back to stay! Will definitely return!

Lived here for 2 months for work. Rooms are nice and comfortable, usually quiet. Housekeeping was good and friendly. Downsides: Breakfast is not free and is kind of pricey. Food service there, whether breakfast or dinner, was always a bit awkward. Had some small ants in the bathroom regularly.

Nice hotel & rooms, staff from desk, shuttle & restaurant were very pleasant. Parked our car for 3 weeks, had late night snacks & drinks then took shuttle to airport & back. Stayed overnight. With reasonable rates, especially with paid parking. Very clean updated rooms.

We had a bridal shower event two weeks ago, it is our second event there. The room is spacious and light. The food and staff are so gracious and helpful, ready to help with any requests. The event coordinator Cassey was outstanding and so friendly. It was a pleasure working with her. Would recommend The Kenilworth for your event. Maria.

Check in was a NIGHTMARE, however front desk was polite and I believe the manager end up assisting then all went well. They gave me complimentary drinks for the inconvenience, which definitely made up for after such a long trip I had. The rooms I had were adjoining rooms so my guests who traveled with me can all interact without the hassle of going out in the hallway which I LOVED. Rooms were clean and updated. The bathrooms need to be updated but other than that beautiful ambiance within the rooms, colors were lovely. I was told breakfast was an additional cost, so not sure if some recieved free breakfast or not. I didn't. The popcorn in the lobby was free, however the machine does need to be clean badly, alot OF buildup. Overall, staff was professional and personable, the bartender even took pictures for my group of ladies which was great. Housekeeping needs a MAJOR tuneup! Calling for towels or wash cloths was an all day process, staff said they informed housekeeping but hours later still nothing. Check our was a breeze. I would definitely recommend and when in area stay again. The Kenilworth Hotel made my stay comfortable, on top of having an elegant ambiance.

We hosted my sister's bridal shower here and service was amazing as usual (my family hosted my baby shower here 8 months ago). The food is great, the place is always clean and it was easy planning and decorating it to our expectations.

Check in was easy and the rooms are clean and well equipped. Got a drink at the bar, which was decent, but the bartender in staff wasn't very personable and was more focused on leaving at 11 (closing time) than making drinks with garnish. (Simple things like cherries/limes not being available because she didn't want to go in the refrigerator. ) Otherwise good experience.

Nice stay. This hotel has been remodeled and updated for the business type. Rooms were very clean, amenities were nice even comped me a Drink for the night. Great service, priced well, It is right next to the highway and there is ample food choices and things to do great stay.

Nice room, wonderful bedding. NO vending machines, ice machine hard to find. Put in some vending machines and will get one more star!

I booked a room here for my mother to stay and I must say, for the price I paid, it has been a very pleasurable experience for me and her. Front desk was very friendly, rooms spacious and clean. I had very specific requests upon booking the room, and arrived to find that all were met. Will definitely be staying here myself and coming back again.

My initial room had a horrible stench (Room 23). Went to front desk and they switched me to new room which was fine. Overall, I enjoyed my short one night stay and would consider staying again. The free drink coupon was a nice touch. The rooms were nice as well.

Extremely COMFORTABLE beds. Very clean and relaxing. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Good location Supermarket in front. Breakfast with little variety. The room cost is a little high for the type of hotel. Comfortable rooms.

Very nice and modern. Friendly staff. Their normal conference room area is NOT wheelchair accessible but they were able to change a room that was. I didn't stay overnight but would highly consider it.

Clean with a great location. Rooms nice fresh and very clean. Elevator being installed that was the one downfall. We had a party of 10 with kids. Great place friendly service and very modern.

I used to come here before the renovation and I loved it. I was there last night I got room number 31 that smelt like mildew. They're obviously with water damage that they couldn't clean well I couldn't even sleep at night the smell was so disgusting. Also breakfast used to be free now you have to pay for it? Hell no. For the price of this Motel breakfast should be free and I shouldn't have to be smelling mildew. There also were not washcloths in the room. I had to call to have them delivered to the room. Again for the price of this please I shouldn't have to worry about any of these issues. The only reason I even gave it to stars is because the girl at the front desk Keyonna was very nice.

No elevators — _-. Ladies in the front desk was rude only 1 was being sweet and nice and willing to help. I asked for extra pillows and shampoo and they just looked at me bothered. I did have a do not disturb sign and the cleaning staff was loudly talking not letting me sleep and she still tried to open the door. Parking is very limited. Shuttle only takes you to train station and airport. Towel hanger wad broken and kept having to fix it. Other than that rooms were nicely decorated.

We did park and fly for a 15 day trip from Newark and this was perfect! Check in for dropping off our car was a breeze and since it was so early in the morning we were able to take free shuttle by ourselves and without the delay. When we returned we called and found out we would need to hump all of our bags on a tram to a parking lot and that pickup was only once an hour. Seeing as we had traveled over 24+ hrs we just called an Uber ($20) but what was really nice is when we got to the hotel they took the amount we payed for an Uber off our bill which was completely not necessary but very nice customer service! Right now they're under renovations but the foyer is nice and has drinks and snacks to purchase, the room is quite large, clean and comfortable and quiet! It also came with a large refrigerator which is nice. The only issue was they don't have an elevator (it's under construction right now) and we had lots of luggage but they let us stow it in a downstairs locked closet which was greatly appreciated! Overall I should highly recommend for anyone traveling in the area.

This is a decent hotel for a good price. It is in a easily accessible location and we never had a problem with parking. It would have been a four star, but: *One night the room next to me was very loud till after 1:30am. I called reception twice to have it handled and they did nothing effective. This was very bad for me as I had to get up at 6am for work. I got almost 4 hours of sleep that night. Not good. Minus one star. *The towel rack in the bathroom was coming off on one side, so any time I grabbed a towel I had to put it back into the wall. *There are signs on the basement level stating that there is a laundry room. You can search as long as you want, but it doesn’t exist. I called reception and they informed me the closest laundry facilities is down the street. The sign should t be there, in other words. *I had two packages delivered here. Both had mine and my wife’s names, C/O Kenilworth and the right address. The day it was delivered I went to reception and it couldn’t be found. After calling Amazon and USPS I was told it had been delivered. USPS called me back the next day and told me where it was delivered. I then went to reception again and the receptionist checked the log and found my package had been received. After further searching it was found under a phone at the desk and someone had written RTS on it. Minus one star.

I enjoy this hotel so much. I can't wait to come back. The front desk is very nice and they never disappoint.

Very nice boutique hotel in a very clean and safe town. Helpful and courteous staff. A real surprise and I will stay there vs the high priced New York City n less accommodating hotels.

Good quality plus free 21 day parking for staying one night. You get a better rate w/o parking so its not totally free.

The hotel very nice and very quiet. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and plesant! Simone from the front desk even called me about an hour after I checked in to see if the room was adequate. Sure was! I would stay here again in a heart beat.

Very nice and friendly staff. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and enjoyed the coffee. I would have given 5 stars however before I was about to leave I noticed what looked like pee stains on the sheets. Please fix that. I understand that stains happen but instead of still using the sheet, just use a different one for the room. For the amount we paid, we should have also been offered free breakfast or something.

Kids loved this place. Kept runing from place to place. Just the right size so kids don't get lost. Plenty of sitting for the adults. Not expansive. Nice stuff. And staff. Highly recommended.

We stayed here the night before an early EWR flight. The rooms were great, clean comfortable and modern. The restaurant had good food, but was small. The friendly bartender was also the sole waiter. The airport shuttle was exactly as advertised, no surprises and no disappointments. We will return for our next trip.

Hotel looks boring from the outside, but is all modern and beautiful on the inside. My room was very nice, all modern design with a beautiful bathroom. The hotel shuttled me to and from the train station whenever I needed for FREE, and everyone I spoke to was very nice. I enjoyed my stay apart from one major issue (and a couple small ones) : There was something wrong with the plumbing. From the moment we walked into the hallway (on the bottom floor) you could smell a moldy smell as if the carpet was wet. There was a large machine in the hallway that seemed to be attempting to dry the carpet. Once in the hotel room (which immediately reeked of cigarettes although I'm pretty sure this was a non-smoking hotel), everything was great UNTIL I took a shower in the morning. The sink overflowed with warm water while I showered and wet my towel and pants I had lying on the counter. It seems that the shower water backed up into the sink. They gave us more towels and we used the dryers down the hall to dry the pants, but still a major inconvenience when we had a schedule to follow. Throughout the next two days, I noticed the sink did not drain properly, and water seemed to be pooling around the toilet and under the sink in the cabinet.

I spent 2 days at the Kenilworth on business, the location was ideal to go to our meetings, the rooms were clean and cozy and the staff was super friendly. I worked all day in lobby and they were always very polite and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, you won't find a better value. I will be back for future meetings in the area!

I was fearful things were going to start out badly as the front desk wanted to switch up our reservation from a dbl queen to a king suite. This was just not doable! Nicole at the front desk was able to get us into our reserved accommodations. Thank You!

Suites are nice, But pricey for area. Good foor ehen dining atea is open, but no room service for breakfast & no complementary breakfast.

The breakfast is not free like the brochure says and you pay as you go and the people at the front desk are rude but other than that the rooms are very relaxing, the bar is very nice. The outside looks like a cheap motel but then you walk inside and it is beautiful it is quite expensive for a non complementary breakfast.

The room was very nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and was a perfect place to stay for the wedding across the street.

Outside doesn't catch the eye much, the inside lobby area is nice. It has a modern look and feel. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. It was the first time i've had a microwave in my hotel room. Overall, I would stay there again.

The suites are modern and clean. The only thing I would say is lacking would be the front desk. They were generally slow to react and issued me a key to someone else's occupied room. Thank goodness I knew this person, otherwise this could have caused a major issue. All in all a great experience and I would not hesitate to go back in the future.

The room was very nice, I would definitely stay there again based on the amenities provided. The hotel has a great location for those wanting to travel in and out of New York City.

I stayed at the Kenilworth hotel with my husband and 4 year old son. We live in Massachusetts and came down to a family event at the Costa del Sol which was convenient and close. The front desk was very welcoming and helpful. Very clean, comfortable, and quite. The maid was so sweet and willing to help. I will definitely come back and stay.

Very nice, clean hotel. Well appointed although the actual room sizes are a bit below average. Nice AV hookups/tv equipment, quiet, and very nice staff. I would certainly book again if I'm in the area!

I give this Hotel one star because of its comfortable bed. But be warned you have to pay close attention to your private belongings or they will be stolen right from under you. Can not blame anyone in specific for it is a well designed operation. My wife left her coat at the bar and I left my license and credit card in the room. Management specified lost and found had never seen anything of the such. Be advised.

Stayed here for my first trip to NYC with my wife in October… If your a tourist this is a hidden gem! Our room was very nice on the second floor, it was way better than what I expected when you don't stay at a known Hotel. Staff was great and more than helpful to some out of town folks. They picked us up from the airport (big plus in my book) also drove us and picked us up from Roselle train staion. (we returned from New York after midnight several times and the Hotel bus service was there to pick us up! ) Overall I had a great experience in New York and this Hotel was a big part of it… I will definitely be returning to NYC and making my stay here.

Nice stay at this hotel but noises carry. Friendly staff. Breakfast was continental, coffee was meh. It's near the hwy which is driving convenient, definitely not walking convenient.

The hotel is quite unique as it is not the typical chain. The rooms were clean and modern. Each room had a Keurig and they had a bridal gift waiting for us in our suite. The staff worked with our large wedding group even to the point of including some of our latecomers. The site is conveniently located close to Newark and offers a shuttle to the airport and nearby rail stations. We enjoyed getting together at the bar downstairs and the bartender was fun to get a drink from. Sadly the pool was closed but the gazebo served for some great pre-wedding pictures. The breakfast was quite well and all our guests enjoyed their stay.

This place is nice. Newly renovated everything. Rooms are comfy and quiet. It's a 4 min drive to the Roselle Park metro (40 min $14.5) that takes you to Manhattan. Overall a great experience. Will recommend. Some people have complained about hot water, it didn't bother me but the water was warm and not hot.

My family has stayed here 2 prior times, and we couldn't be more pleased with this Hotel. The staff are top-notch; especially Rob, who helped me with my stay this coming weekend. Rooms are very nice and I highly recommend The Kenilworth.

WARNING WARNING WARNING! My cell phone was STOLEN out of the room I was staying on Saturday, June 6 within 20 minutes of leaving the room. I feel that it was an inside job due to many factors that I will not go into at this moment. I felt the management was somewhat complacent in trying to recover my phone thinking that I must have misplaced it. Instead of immediately going down to the room, messages were relayed by walkie talkies. Couldn't see the security tape and I was the one who insisted that the police be called. When the police were called, the manager took the supervisor of housekeeping away to talk with her, I was not privy to that conversation. To be fair, I will say that a report was filled out by them, and they let me use there phones and computer to call Verizon and Apple and do damage control. Another tidbit that I found strange that while I was waiting to be connected to Apple, I woman came up to the desk right next to me and complained that while she was getting dressed, housekeeping just walked in the door, without knocking. Hmmm.

Zero hot water. Tried to call the front desk to report the lack of hot water — phone didn't work, neither of the two. Half-assed renovations, damaged ceiling tiles walls and fixtures and furniture. These people do not know how to run a hotel. Plus, leaving the parking lot there is a cop that stakes out the driveway because for some reason you can't make a left turn. So, that is a police trap. Just don't stay here.

This hotel has just undergone an extensive renovation. The rooms are amazing, beds are brand new and comfortable. Nice decor, very modern yet comfortable also. The staff is very accommodating and professional. Friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was great also and even had waffles. Located right off the GSP with easy on/easy off. What a great hotel and great find. Disregard older reviews, as this hotel is completely renovated and under new ownership. Glad I stayed.

This is a beautiful new renovated hotel. The design is trendy and sleek.

Very clean. People are very friendly. Me and my husband come a lot to NJ and we have been here 2 times. And we enjoyed a lot. And now they remodeled the place and it looks espetacular. Of course we will come back more times.
