Found a Motorhome stopover fantastic food to die for, fab walks, friendly staff and service.

I work here but don't really eat out as I am a bit OCD with certain things. HOWEVER I had my sunday roast here today (I had lamb, the other half had beef) and I have to say we both cleared our plates. Everything was cooked to perfection and the gravy was amazing. If you don't try it you're missing out big time. Nice one Rene and thanks. Xx.

Just had Sunday lunch at the newly refurbished, newly opened restaurant at the George. It was absolutely delicious and exceptional quality for the price. The beef was melt-in-the-mouth succulent, top marks to the Chef! Lovely surroundings, great food and service. Wholeheartedly recommended.

This is an amazing little pub! The staff make the place always so inviting. Dog friendly and happy to chat the afternoon away with some great food! Sven definitely recommends.

Was passing by the pub & decided to pop in also had a meal! The staff where very friendly & the food was lush! Also a big bonus they are dog friendly so we had a little Bella with us too highly recommend this place.

Had the fish n chips fish was like a whale end chips were like as fat a sausages will definitelycome back for the food alone great staff.

Very friendly staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere and most importantly the quality of food keeps you coming back for more. The beer is pretty fine too.

We used The George as an overnight Brit Stop with our Motorhome. Lovely place, lovely food, lovely welcome, lovely atmosphere, lovely people… Just lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly folks, good food, comfortable rooms. This isn't a five-star resort, but I wasn't anticipating a spa. Absolutely exceeded my expectations, and I'd happily recommend if you are looking for a room in the area.

Karin and Richard and their staff always make you feel welcome. The food is good and the beer is moderatly priced. The customers are also friendly-a nice venue with plenty of attached history.

Good service, facilities, plenty of seating and in a lovely location. Didn't have food but looked good so will try it next time.

Welcoming hosts, excellent beers, 700 whiskeys, fabulous steaks, free overnight parking for camper-vans, it doesn't get better! Yes, the place has character marks and isn't contemporary, get past that, relax and enjoy the service and good food, you can stay in a characterless travel lodge another time.

Comedy night upstairs in the stables. Great night. Some randomness. Toilets, gold foil backdrop, pink dalek. All adds to the character. Cosy bar and loads of outside seating for the summer.

Great whisky selection. The interior could keep you amazed for hours with the different bottles of whiskey. The food is lovely and great portion size. Definitely worth a visit.

Not great service or food. My wife & I ordered one of their Famous Steaks this Saturday, my wife ordered medium rare Fillet and I ordered RARE Dallas Rib Eye, both came MEDIUM to WELL DONE. We told the waitress when the steaks arrived and she said she would tell the kitchen. I don't leave much, but I left three quarters of my steak and it went back to the kitchen. No response from the kitchen or the management, the bill came for the full amount, so we paid and left, we will not be returning and will tell everyone about our experience — Good service costs nothing. We also asked for vinegar for the chips, but it never came, good job they only had four tables to serve, I wouldn't like to eat there when the place was full.

Great place, great food, great staff would definitely go back.
