Food awful and hygiene levels poor. Its only plus is that it has a good IPA on draught!

Had a great time here recently, great food and drinks. We didn't realize it was Trivia Night with Roger Kennedy, it was a lot of fun and you can play with a group. Highly recommend.

Not to expensive and decent enough but a bit run down (like leather on seats need replacing)

Decent sports bar — lots of screens and good food. Rooms a bit basic but comfortable.

Very good place to eat meat, I was not disappointed the 3 times I have gone, the meat prepare sits on you as you want, good value for money.

Compared to the previous year, this hotel has declined sharply.
The rooms were not very clean and the food was much better last year.
The English Breakfast was a children's portion.
Next year we will live somewhere else! :-/

We celebrated my partners 60th and the staff were fantastic. The food was perfect and served without delay. I can't say a big enough thank you for such a lovely evening.

Really friendly and helpful staff can't fault them in any way the rooms were clean food was good and the price for the rooms are great.

Vile. Not sure how this is allowed to be open and serve food. Thr worst food and hygiene Ive ever seen in a pub. The toilets were covered in rubbish and when the food eventually arrived… well the fish had been fried so long the fish had run away leaving an almost empty shell of batter. Unfortunately, the batter (and accompanying chips) were fried in oil that is long overdue changing so had that awful taste… you know the type that makes your toes curl?! As for the service… when we arrived there were notes on the tables saying they were reserved for the quiz. The quiz? So they'd rather turn away food-buying customers in exchange for groups of folks who might buy a couple of drinks? Its not exactly welcoming. This was the 2nd time we'd tried this place, to give it the second chance and we've no idea whats going on there, but its not good. We will NEVER eat here again.

If you like meat then you are in the right place. Don't go if you are a vegetarian because from what I remember the only option is a halloumi wrap. I like how big and spacious this pub is.

Great value pub grub with plenty of choice and unusual combos. Try the Chilli challenge or finish your 24 ounce steak and chips to get your photo on the Wall of Fame!

We visited for the first time, to meet friends. The pub we had arranged to meet in was rammed & with every table used, so we came here. We are glad we did! It was still busy but we found a table without a problem. We ordered cheesy garlic breads to share for a starter and various main courses. The girl behind the bar notived the starter was to share and provided extra plates & cutlery for this. The mains arrived in due course and all of the food was piping hot and freshly prepared, we will definitely be back!

The corner house is a good place to go and eat with your family or friends. It has great food and drinks and some colouring in activities for young children. I'd recommend the corner house to you because it's really good.

Great staff, always friendly and welcoming. Showing its age and in need of a refurb but comfortable in its shabbiness. Range of popular pub grub at a good price.

Chain pub serving cheap eats and beer. When I went in for a pre theatre meal (it's next door to the people's theatre) they didn't have enough staff on and there were long queues. But they did move quickly.

Went for lunch on Saturday. Overall food was decent, however the fish for the fish and chips was very bony and the nachos seemed to be dorritos. Bit of a strange smell in the place too. I'd been here several years ago and it seemed more vibrant.

A large busy pub. Food was average. Staff were helpful and friendly. Wouldnt make a special effort to go but nothing untoward about it either.

Clean pub, large. Also has seating outside. Food good and staff nice and friendly. Sometimes has live bands on. Two sets of toilets at different places in the bar.

Manager & wife and all staff within The Corner House Inn are genuinely friendly, helpful, respectful and polite. Food is really good and a great price, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and relaxing, home from home. It is very conveniently located with plenty of car parking space and a large beer garden for the warmer weather. There was one or two issues with one of our rooms, it was handled very politely by the manager and his wife, so important and so nice in this day and age to be listened to and handled with such understanding and care towards our visit. It is a place without question that we will visit again and again, there are few places around that have maintained such ambiance and great service, long may they do so.

0 stars not possible. Visited here on thursday 14th december with 2adults 2kids. We had booked in advance for christmas fayre menu and we were greeted unenthusiasticly by staff, and sat at a set table, when we noticed table cloth was upside down, glasses and cutlery were dirty. This aside we were offered drinks and our cocktails that wed booked, yet only my wife got one and it was horrible. We waited 15mins for food and it came and it looked ok. We soon found out that the food wasnt very nice, smash potato, turkey was like a cheap sandwich meat, veg was undercooked, yorkshire pudding was average. Bar staff were pulling wheelie bins past us when were were picking at our food and taking them outside (was there not a back door? ) We had tickets for theatre next door and didnt see any reason to hang around so we left. We paid £50incl deposit for this and wont be returning. 0 star.

Went for dinner here on a Saturday night as we've had food from here before and have always been generally happy with the food. When ordering we were told there would be a 30 minutes wait which we were happy with as we could see that the place was busy. After waiting 40 minutes our food was given to us cold. Our steak grill, which usually comes out on the grillplate still spitting and hot was dead, and all the sides were cold. We didn't return the meal as we'd waited so long by this point and we just wanted something to eat. Very disappointed.

Lovely traditional pub with good food and a nice atmosphere. Always great for a Sunday roast and friendly staff make it that much nicer.

Waited almost 40 mins for food and portions were rubbish when they did arrive! Ordered burger and chips and at most there was 8 chips on the plate! Was still hungry when I left! Nice place for drinks but avoid food if your really hungry!

Was disappointed in the meal had a cheese burger with criss cross chips had to send it back as the burger was cold they did however do a fresh one but I felt my meal had been spoilt, I normally go to the foxhunters on which I will continue to go so much better.

Been here three times now. I got the 8oz Gammon and the girlfriend got the pulled pork. Very happy with the food. The staff are great we will be going back again soon.

The corner house is always cheap and cheerful. Reasonably priced food although quality can be iffy. Reasonably riced drink and plenty of choices. Big beer garden at the front/side for when it's sunny.

Came to the bar for a few drinks with some friends. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Would recommend it for anyone =)

Food was lovely tried other sizzling pubs this is one of the best staff friendly make you feel very much welcomed.

The place is cozy and the people are nice. The food is pub quality but if you are into sports, it's a great place to go to.

Received a meal that wasn't ours at first before establishing it was another customers right next to us. Every meal around us had some issue with the food and complained to staff. Staff appeared disorganised and unable to meet the requests that they offered their customers. However we enjoyed our meal, even though the steak for my partner was not as asked, it just would have been nicer to have not have been surrounded by so much chaos. I would return though as I really enjoyed my meal and the staff were friendly.

Bar staff are superb, atmosphere is brilliant, tidy, well kept, traditional pub decor, nice beers, nice food, cracking big screen tv.

Generally go there to play pool. Relatively good tables and drinks prices are not too bad. Not the best in the Heaton area though.

Great fun trying their flaming burger challenge and a good bargin for the size of it! Football in TV was a bonus.

Drinks are always good and the menu has plenty to choose from. Decent value although drinks do feel a pint pricy.
