We had a family meal here yesterday to celebrate confirmation of our kids and have to say from start to finish was an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely divine and service from staff was excellent. Kids and rest of family really enjoyed themselves and complimented the food also. Very pleasant experience and we definitely be back again. And just a special thanks to the manage Nicole who we booked through and was very helpful and greeted us on the day.

I could write a long review but it’s just nice. Great setting, affordable rooms, good menu. All in all I will stay again.

Very nice hotel to stay in, very clean and staff are so helpful and mannerly, the food was amazing and super choices on the menu, all with excellent prices and superb value, rooms were spotless and so quiet even with a festival on outside, the bar served lovely fresh pints and good prices too, well done to all the staff there, look forward to seeing you all again, thank you.

Absolutely Amazing hotel would recommend it to anyone, the COVID rules are well set out down there and had a great time the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly, would defiantly stay here again, Happy Christmas and Happy New Year.

Very friendly staff who accomadated us for lunch, staff chatted away while serving and could not do enough. Just the place for a bite after a trip to spike island and the Titanic experience.

The three greats, great choice of food, great food and great service.

Our room was so nice and large and comfortable. We had a very relaxing time in the bar with friendly staff. At breakfast and dinner the meals were delicious with very generous serves all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Had my daughters christening there last week and I have to say all the staff were so helpful and the food was 100%perfect well done and thanks.

Went last minute for dinner to the Commodore during a really busy period. We were seated immededietly and the kids orders taken straight away. The staff were so nice and helpful. The food was amazing. The deserts were just divine. The hotel is just beautiful. We'll definitely be back.

I stayed in the Commodore Hotel with my wife and a group of 16 friends for the weekend. The accommodation, food and of course pints were first class. Most important of all was the great staff. Reception, bar staff. Kitchen, back room / house staff were top class. Nothing was a problem and my guests were highly impressed. Take a bow all of you and we will be back. 5 out of 5. Just for the record the last night I stayed in the hotel before this weekend was my wedding night a good few years ago (Ha ha) and glad to say it’s as good as ever.

Had a great stay in Cobh in the end of May, which turned sour due to the rude and hostile staff in this hotel.
My brother and I, both young people, asked if we could leave our luggage in the lobby while we pottered about cobh the morning after a family event.
We later went back to collect our bags, when one of their receptionists slammed an invoice down in front of us, and told us to speak to her manager for further info. After this the manager told us the cleaners smelled smoke in the bathroom, and admitted there was so ash or buds to be seen, or any smell of smoke in the actual bedroom. After explaining that we hadn’t been smoking in the room she eventually agreed to refund us.
I genuinely think they only made this refund because we went in to them in person, as most people would have been miles away when they realized they were down €100.
I think the hotel did this to make quick money from a couple of you of people who they thought they could take advantage of. The offered no eta on when the refund would be in my account and said the delays were due to my bank. They never acknowledged their mistake or offered an apology.
Sharing this Incase something similar happens to anyone else.

We held our Family celebration for our Son Isaac’s 1st Holy communion here and we all enjoyed the meal and service immensely. Thank you to Mr John Gately, and his wonderful team.

We spent 2 nights in this unique hotel and the location is just fantastic. Freshly cooked breakfast & extra large rooms with sea views — will definitely be back. Highly recommend a trip to Spike Island too. Lots to do in Cobh itself with escape rooms, Titanic heritage tours, the Cathedral, galleries and cafes.

Absolutely love the Commodore hotel I have stayed here twice in past few years beautiful staff nothing is a problem to them they are so friendly and accommodating the food is fabulous as is the view from the hotel always ask for a front room just love it cant wait to get back there again.

Have to say. A group of ten of us stayed last night and some of the group will be staying on longer. The rooms were fantastic. The food we had was top class. Add on top of that the staff were all helpful and friendly. Staff alone get the stay five stars. Little bit of an issue in the room was the water pressure in the shower which took its time to heat up. But doesn't lose a star for it. Will defo be back.

Booked in for 1 night for a family event taking place in the hotel. When packing up to check out on the Sunday morning I discovered that jewellery worth over €500 was taken from the room. There was only 2 keys available to my room, one was between myself and the person sharing and the second was for the hotel staff. Manager on duty on the Saturday night was very rude when myself and a number of other residents wanted to go into the nightclub. He seemed very annoyed that he had to get us plastic cups for our drinks as well as taking our room numbers and walking us into the nightclub. Made a number of smart comments while dealing with us. I've stayed in this hotel a number of times before and never had an issue but after this weekend I will not be back or recommending it to anyone else.

Enjoyed the stay beautiful sea view but very disappointing about the Shower actually couldnt have one water was cold and barely trickling out so receptionist gave me a key for another room just to have a shower and was exact same thing first time ever going to a hotel and not been able to shower… 80 PERCENT of the reviews are complaints about the shower or bathroom and still it's exact same… VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Myself and my family had a wonderful experience at the Coomodore this evening the 14 of August. Holly was our lovely waitress. She is excellent. The surroundings are perfect with a nice anbience and decor. The menu has a lovely balance of choice. All our food was delicious and well presented. Great value and highly recommended.

If you get a room on the harbour side the views are great. Take your camera. And don't be even thirty seconds late for breakfast. Because the answer from the kitchen will be 'tuff'.

Hotel was dated but staff and food great. They have a nightclub downstairs so if u want to sleep early take a room on 4th floor haha. But besides that great stay in hotel 3 nights. Greetings from Eindhoven The Netherlands.

Food was good. However, the fish and chips are not the best. The fish was not crunchy, but soggy. The fries were ok, but not as good as courtny's in lucerne ireland outside of dublin.

Very affordable price for a room of 4! Very well maintained frame, view of the breathtaking rooms: cruise ship, Moon Lift… Very friendly staff.

Old world charm, right on the seafront, you pay 100 euros deposit, which you get back on departure. If driving, free car park across from cathedral or kids play park.

(room 130) Filthy in the bathroom, pubic hairs around the floor, even on the bathmat. Bathtub had some yellowish stain in place where glaze was broken, disgusting. Very outdated, almost each floor tile broken, taps on the sink loose, tap in the shower almost falling off the wall. At the end of the day I sat on the cake or chocolate in the restaurant/pub and had to threw away trousers becasue of greasy spot.
On the other hand, bed was super comfortable, nice view from the window, very nice hotel stuff, good location, breakfast was nice.

Very happy stay at the commodore. Jill arranged our daily trips above and beyond the norm arranging everything down to the minutest details. Food and service both excellent. Restaurant staff when, even under pressure were calm and always wore a smile. Thank you Commodore.

Hotel has gotten a bit rundown since my last stay. Room was ok but noisy. Breakfast was very poor. Location is the only plus for this hotel I'm afraid.

We had booked this online two months ago for two nights which said no prepayment needed just need your cars to guarantee your booking ten we changed our mind and cancelled our room and changed to one night that was fine got my conformation email and it was all good it was costing 68£ for the night got up there the 18th of march and walked in told the girl my name and she said oh no we had to cancel that room there was something wrong with the credit card now there was money on the credit card and anyway it said no prepayment needed which means u pay at the property. We got no email to tell us that something went wrong no phone call nothing which is a disgrace we then asked here how much would a room be for the night which she replied 120£ that is a joke and then she wanted 100£ deposit?! So from 68 to 220 in one day no way very disappointed me and my fiance were. Wasn't our fault that something went wrong with your communications team very rude.

I was in this hotel during the heavy snow and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A very nice place to go for either a formal or informal drink with friends family or a friend, have not eaten in the restaurant for a long time so can't really comment on it.

Very nice hotel near the water. Interior decor takes you back to what it must have been like more than a century ago when it was new. Excellent service and good food. A short walk away from the Titanic Exhibit.

We stopped at Cobh after a day trip to Fota wildlife park and we were looking for a place to get some dinner. After a short walk at the port and a search online we couldn't find much so we decided to have dinner at the Commodore hotel. I think it was the best decision we made for all the choices we believed we had. The food was amazing, we had the catch of the day which was fresh salmon. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was really nice. We also had a great pint of Guinness! I can't say much about the rooms or the hotel. In general as we didn't spend the night there but I would definitely recommend the hotel restaurant!

I'm giving hotel 5 star for the wonderful friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are fresh and clean. Great view of harbour. It's an old hotel but it's got a nice feeling around it. Great value.

Had civil ceremony and reception here recently, would def recommend for anyone's special day. Both Rob and Sabrina were fantastic.

What can I say stay there for 2 nights 13 September to 15 2017 staff were excellent the receptionist was a lady couldn't do enough for us I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a break away I'd definitely go back again.

A must visit if you are in Cobh. Friendly staff good atmosphere great views good food and bar. Ask to staff to allow you on the rooftop beergarden, excellent.

Historic Hotel well placed on the quays but very "saellot" with floors still in wood and cleanliness limit. The site offers little interest except the Titanic experience.

Brutle toasted ham and cheese sandwich! Fantastic ingredients criminally prepared …! Pint of Guinness was great. U NEVER CUT A TOASTY IN 4! Really people it's simple don't faf up what is not broken! A good toasty does not need a salad and if U want to serve chips make sure they are shoe string fries cooked in fresh oil and served on the side … for referance Afternoon tea sandwiches are cut in 4 …

We had a fab lunch there on Sunday, absolutely top class food and we had 2 very fussy critic's with us that cleared they're plates and asked to go back again for lunch, the staff were lovely couldn't do enough for us, well worth a visit. My only criticism would be being charged for extra gravy, thought it was a bit mean.

Lovely place to visit and relax, scenery is fantastic, plenty of things to do and have a great time, plenty of food an entertainment there also x.

Really great hotel next to the waterfront, a few good resturants, and some activities (such as a Titanic museum). Helpful receptionists, great breakfast, and rooms that allow smoking. Definitely a hotel worthy of such a high rating. 5/5

Welcoming, cordial staff. Large, bright, clean room and bath. Comfie bed with crisp linens. Great sea view. Plenty of outlets for charging devices. A historic hotel that is also up to date.

Overall not going very basic taps running in toilet shower leaky handle on toilet come away in your hand doors don't lock from inside adjoining rooms shared bathroom lucky nobody was in it would have been freaked out about not being able to lock door at night. Staff in bar nice food just ok. Very disappointed needs a big revamp played same money in a hotel previous night no comparison that hotel was a palace compared just not good enough anymore avoid this place if you want nice the only thing that was nice was the view.

Room was a bit cold and the water from the shower was hot for a few seconds and then it got a little warmer and so the step all the time! It well, good food and very well located:)

I'm only rating the restaurant as we did not stay here. Went for dinner with the family. The restaurant hss high chairs available which helps with the little ones. Great food and drink menu. A good selection of local Irish beer and really fresh sea food. Great service and really enjoyed the place. Good price too. Worth it to eat and drink here.

When we arrived our greeting wasn't exactly hospitable and we were send up to our room which actually wasn't ready and we were sent back, the second room smelt so badly of smoke and was dark and looked out onto a horrible roof. We asked to change rooms and had to pay 16euro more. This room was so much better with a sea view. Beds were really comfy and bathroom clean. The TV though! It was so tiny it couldn't be seen when lying in bed! &We went for bar food and it was surprisingly good even though we got Guinness instead of Heineken and lemon cheesecake instead of Bailey's cheesecake.! the staff were really lovely. Breakfast was nothing special, with a little bit more effort it could be so much better! we also had no hot water for showers in the morning and when we called reception we were told the plumber was coming soon! We had a funny time at the Commodore and would visit again but somebody needs to inject some love into this historical hotel!

Nice location and view but don't expect a modern hotel. Old style charm.

Our room had a double bed and three singles, plenty of space, clean and a beautiful view overlooking the bay. We had no time for dinner but had a very good buffet breakfast on the next day. The staff were efficient and friendly, will certainly come back again.

A great hotel for the price retaining its Victorian charm, centrally located in Cobh and full of characters. When I stayed here there was a retirement party going on in the downstairs bar with a lot of singing and atmosphere in the afternoon. Rooms were good, large and clean; nothing like a modern hotel but that's what makes staying at places like the Commodore all the more interesting — individuality and character.

Lovely old hotel but the years have taken their toll on the fabric of the building. I last stayed in The Commodore in 1992. Apart from new bathrooms not a lot has changed. Treat it as a step back in time and you will love it.

We spent a week at the Commodore Hotel and enjoyed it very much all the staff that we encountered were very helpful couldn't do enough for us they were all very polite and very pleasant. Thank all at the Commodore for having us.

Nice place with a good view and Wi-Fi is always nice good breakfast in the morning.

Walking through the corridors of this once majestic hotel conjured visions of Victorian ladies taking afternoon tea and sea Captains with bushy sideburns sipping black rum as they prepared to set sail to exotic destinations within the mighty British Empire. Bell boys would be running up and down the regal staircase with the valises of weary travellers. I could envisage waitresses dressed in the black and white frilly uniform of the day, curtsying to the landed gentry as they gargled Mr Hennesseys finest and barked at their servants to check the horse and carriage outside the main entrance overlooling the harbour view. Filthy rich Americans would be reminiscing about how their ancestors left this battered island without a penny to their magnificent Irish names. What wonderful times. Well maybe! I'm not sure they were so great for the bell boys servants and waitresses — but staying at this hotel does make you think of what was. Many years have passed through Cobh since then and have been swept out to sea. These years have also taken a little of the splendour of this hotel with them. The expression faded glory comes to mind but that would be a disservice to the diligent and helpful staff working here — friendly and welcoming. But you know — a little splendour still remains and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.
