Absolutely lovely stay at the green dragon, the room was perfect for us as a family of 4, food was excellent, the Landlady Elly and her partner were lovely ppl Elly In particular was absolutely amazing with my 5year old and 1year old all the staff were all very friendly and helpful, my 5year old absolutely loved it there and even draw a little picture for Elly to say thank you and so she won’t forget him 🙂 10/10 for this lovely inn I 100% recommend to anyone planning on taking a stay in Wellington to book with them.

We’ve eaten here a few times since lockdown has eased and the food is fab and the covid precautions are spot on. However tonight it was amazing. The steak was fabulous and the service is outstanding. I always worry taking my nearly 4 year old out for tea but he’s always welcomed by everyone here and we will definitely be making it a regular thing.

Was a lovely looking pub but as we sat outside you could see the staff making the food. The young lady doing the garnishes had long hair in a ponytail. Every time her hair came forward she pushed it back with her hands no gloves and then carried on with the food.
The young lady washing up was in and out the kitchen standing drinking and chatting to the young girl doing the garnish and to top the lot the chef then scratches his chin or stubble I should say and carried on with the. Meals without washing his hands.
So as nice as it is no I would not eat there.

Abrupt, rude and contradicting staff who talk to you like your the stiupid one.

Just would like to say a huge thank you for the lovely roast dinner that was delivered to us today. Slinky would like to say an even bigger thank you for the very thoughtful gesture of a roast dinner too, that was a lovely surprise and she really enjoyed it. Thank you all.

Absolutely fabulous afternoon tea for 4 today for my mum’s 92nd birthday thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Great value, fabulous selection of sandwiches and cakes all home made and scones were delicious. Highly recommend to everyone for value and speedy service. Xx.

Yes I would, The meal we had last night was lovely my husband had fish & chips mushy pease he really enjoyed it, I had a vegy burger & chips chips for my daughter & had fish & chips sent to my mother in law & she said it was better than the chip shop so Thankyou beccy & team x.

We have just had a fish and chip takeaway, followed by homemade trifle. It was piping hot and delicious. The only thing lacking was the atmosphere you get at The Green Dragon itself! Amazing, thank you Jamie and Becky. See you next week x.

Stayed here a couple of week ago, excellent little gem of a pub! staff are hard working, friendly and helpful. The food is lovely and a varied menu, the room was very clean. This is the first time we stayed here, although we have been going in the Green Dragon for quite a few months! In fact we had my partners 70th birthday in there at the end of May and the staff worked very hard! the buffett was very good and communication from Beccy the landlady in setting up the arrangements for the party were excellent! and as Arnie says… we will be back!

Really great local pub! The food is great and the staff are lovely. Has a fun local atmosphere. The food feels home cooked, not just zapped in a microwave, especially like the burgers and steak.

A great pub serving good food and ales. The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was good and staff very attentive.

Had Sunday roast dinner in there yesterday and it was bloody lovely, best dinner I had out for a long time. I was in there with my children and partner, the children were well welcomed by all the staff. And really made us all welcome. Would recommend to everyone. Very nice pub indeed.

Had meal there today for mothers day very disapointed with location of table and long wait 43 mins for meal to arrive and a a long wait to be served at the bar.

Had lunch here the other day. Had a lovely steak. Food is fantastic & reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good food. UPDATE… Came here for a valentines meal which we pre booked and pre ordered from the set menu. The garlic mushrooms we shared for starter was delicious. The main meals were just the right portion sized and the Gin and Tonic cheesecake was divine. Will definitely be back next Valentine’s Day.

Delicious burger served here. They do wonderful sweet potato chips. Also a very nice grilled chicken steak.

Straightforward, honest, no nonsense pub. Food good, what you'd expect basically. Friendly service. Clean toilets. Not going to set the world on fire, but everything is just fine.

Wonderful little gem in a great location as a stop over for us on the way to Boardmasters Festival in Newquay… Lovely quirky old building but rooms designed and decorated in a subtle yet trendy upmarket way… Amazing value for money with great hospitality… great staff and owners… and a superb to order fresh breakfast. Evening meal was equally as good… Massively recommend this place even without any parking… even though u can just over the road but need to get up ear…ly to buy ticket… Small sacrifice for such a great place. Highly recommended…

Great little place, good breakfast, fairly cheap considering it was a last minute dot com booking at the bank holiday weekend, and also has a secure courtyard to park the motorbike out the way, awesome.

Very noisy in every area. There's a cosy little cellar sort of area, but the football was on in there. Ended up having to sit outside in the smoking area, next to the kitchen. Food was good though.

Food and staff are excellent. Very helpful, and the food is the best in Wellington.

3 good meals and 3 bad ones. Steak over cooked, nothing like the mediums we requested and seabass very dry. In laws picked this restaurant as it had been so good in the past so think we just caught them in an off night. Would try again as staff were very good.

Amazing transformation of the old quirky pub. Which is a shame in some respects but this place has been 'done up' nicely. Reasonable selection of beers and menu looked enticing.

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne but have been coming to this pub for 30 years. I used to love the eccentricity of the old place. I was taken aback to find a new broom had swept the place completely clean. Gone is the delicious pints of natch, gone is the pickled eggs and crisps, gone is the skittle alley apparently. All is not lost. The new place is scrupulously clean and serves up very hygienic products. I mourn the passing of the natch.
