The food was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were fantastic! Very welcoming and a lovely atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and highly recommended.

A lovely pub with very friendly, attentive staff. The food was really great and it felt like they took good measures for covid safety. They had a good variety of vegetarian/vegan food and the Gyros which I had was delicious. Will certainly be visiting again!

Just stopped for a snack, had a cheese and pickle sandwich, amazing value. Really fresh bread thick cut and wedges of cheese.

Really rate this place. Awesome Food, great service and very accommodating. Great all round pub and it's a shame I don't live closer!

Food was unpleasant, I ordered a sausage sandwich which came with chips (apparently the best chips in the area! ) Chips were nothing special, Like McDonalds fries and the sausage in the sandwich was cold, as in fridge cold. Apparently this was so you could taste the sausage? It was nasty.

Lovely little pub we stopped off on the way home from our holiday here for lunch. The food is all gone made and fresh. I had the fish and chips and it was probably one of the best I've ever had! Pretty standard price for a pub lunch and right next to an old train station which is worth a little pop in too.

Very friendly and engaging landlord/lady, and excellent gourmet food at very modest prices. The pub decor is pretty standard. Lots of parking.

A very inviting family run hotel with wonderful food. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Very nice pub, made to feel very welcome. Food was freshly cooked, very tasty and plenty of it. Will defiantly come again. Update 27/8/17 — went for Sunday lunch, luckily we were early as there were alot of reserved tables. Managed to fit us in. Had the roast beef with the biggest Yorkshire pudding ever. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted absolutely delicious.

What a nice place to drop in on. Meeting friends here after a walk along the Mineral Line walk from Watchet (right at Washford train station) and had a great lunch. Very friendly staff and a meal that was cooked by an expert (proscuito wrapped chicken — great flavour combinations and a generous serving)

Amazing food, great service and helpful Staff. Dog friendly and water given for the dogs even when not asked for. We had the house pie (lamb) and it was brilliant. Would highly recommend.

Washford Inn restaurant is the best around Minehead. Food very delicious and u can see was cooking with heart and passion. Staff very friendly.

Modern, accessible, friendly, comfortable. Lovely tasty Big food. I stayed here, with a work colleague, over a period of about 3 months, working on a project for a major utilities company. We tried several local pubs, looking for accessibility, modernity, charm, parking, food, value, and amenities. The Washford Inn scored highly on all these fronts. The room was better than some 3 star hotels I’ve stayed in, maybe 4 stars even. Modern, always clean and linen fresh and bright. We had work vehicles and they were easily parked in the large carpark. The staff are very friendly and will literally go out of their way to help you. Their team are like a well oiled machine. And then there is the food. Their chef was too good, I put on weight. Traditional pub food with a modern freshness. And if you stay over the weekend, as we did occasionally as well, their Sunday roasts are so good that I use them as a benchmark for all others since (none come close). The local and international clientele mixed like old friends, a real mix of people, all ages. There are plenty of regulars, for the restaurant and pub, who treated us like old friends, it’s a very friendly part of the world. There are live music nights, market days and other attractions arranged by the landlord and his wife and family. The Washford Inn was home from home for us for several weeks and we grew to feel like it was home.

Went for Easter Sunday lunch. Was an extremely welcoming pub, extremely child friendly (which is a rarity these days and helps put us parents at ease! ) The roasts were beyond amazing. Perfectly cooked, perfect size portions. Nice selection of drinks. Will be coming here for Sunday lunch every weekend we are at our holiday home in Minehead!

Called in for the Sunday roast a year ago and on the strength of that went back the other day fir a mid week lunch. Good range of food on offer at very reasonable prices. Friendly and efficient service, food was ample, hot and very tasty. Thoroughly recommend.

Just had a fantastic lunch. Great homemade tomato soup. The pork tenderloin was perfect. The dessert of chocolate mousse fantastic. The staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. If you are passing stop you will not be disappointed.

Excellent quality food and large portions — very friendly staff and atmosphere — lots of effort to welcome and cater for families with highchairs, baby change and toys.

Great little place located right next to the railway station. You can sit, eat & drink while watching the trains go by. The staff are so friendly & the food is AMAZING. Don't stop for food here if your in a hurry as everything is cooked from fresh so it's quite a long wait but well worth it xx.

Went there for lunch today 25/5/16 There was a group of 5 of us, all very Pleased with the meals an service which we couldn't fault. We had a range meals between us of fish and chips. Homemade pie an chips, an ham egg & chips an there was other as well all very good meal an great value for money, Iam about 40 mile away but it is worth a day out an to have a decent pub meal.

From when we first entered the door we felt welcome. The wine list offered a good variety of both red and white wines. The staff were very friendly and ready to help. The menu on offer was good food, all home-made and locally sourced. It was served piping hot and very tasty. We would highly recommend The Washford Inn and will stay in the hotel on our next visit.

Stopped in on a whim hungry and an hour before serving time started, the owner greeted us. Happy and welcome instantly. Sat In front of an open fire and ordered the fish and chips. And a good sized mocha (proper coffee) the fire was kept stacked and the food arrived less than 30 minutes after ordering (and still before serving time! ) The fish and chips was brilliant. You could taste the freshness, the coffee was almost as if made by an Italian barista. Staff could not have been friendlier, and will definitely be making the +30 mile trip to experience their live music night in the future. Not many pubs I feel deserve a review. Let alone a good one. Washford Inn exceptional food, staff and open fire!

Went there for Sunday lunch as we had been watching and waiting for it to re-open after its renovations. Lunch was awful. Slow service – Weak and expensive coffee, served in tiny cups — half-sized meal portions — My serving was particularly small and lacked anything in the way of vegetables apart from one tiny “wild” mushroom and some obviously once-frozen peas. There was very little in it but pasta and a fried egg. Gum-chewing (open-mouthed style) waitress (a practice she continued throughout the duration of our visit). Wrong coffees to wrong people. Bland food of poor quality but top prices. We told them of our experience whilst we paid, thinking that they would address the complaint in a proactive manner but all the woman did was to admit that the food was better during the week, as a lady cooked but that she didn't like to work on Sunday! One must inference then that both the standard and quantity of food declines over the weekend. She said that she was sorry and agreed that we should have had a lot more vegetables in the dish but made no offer to compensate us for the high-priced and under-sized fare. Wrote them a letter, which they ignored. Private messaged them on their FaceBook page, which they also ignored. Posted a comment on their FaceBook page, which they deleted. When they finally responded, they simply thanked me for my comments, saying that they would "take them on board. " There was nothing forthcoming to even attempt to keep the customer satisfied.

Free Wi-Fi which compensated for very average pub food.

My friend and I were on holiday travelling around the west country in August when we came across the Washford Inn. Liking what we seen and the friendly manager and his wife we decided to book in for a night. We ended up staying 3 nights travelling around and using the pub as a base. We were greatly impressed with the menu available. The portions sizes were big and gave good value for money. The selection of draught beers and real ale were extremely good and priced well. The rooms were big with onsuite. Plasma TV and tea and coffee available. This pub is situated at the end of the Watchet to Washford walking trail and makes a nice stopping off point after a brisk walk. Also its proximity to the station makes it a good watering hole between trains. I always take my dog whenever I go on a driving holiday. He is well used to sleeping in the car, but when the manager see how well he was behaved he made arrangements for him to sleep in his own bedding in an out building adjoining the pub. He did say that he was seriously thinking about making some dog kennels in the near future. Great place to stay. I will be is back.

We were in the area and had stopped by at 9am — 3 hours before the pub opened — as the car park was empty and my 2 year old wanted to see a train go by. The foul-mouthed landlord abused my pregnant wife, my mother and me for parking in the car park. Needless to say, we didn't go here for lunch and never will.

Great pub, nice people, food great, Keith, sue and Dave made us very welcome, will be back. They have done a very good job. Would not take the review on the 03/07/2011 in to account as they took over from the last people, after that date,

Used to be very nice with good ales and good food. Last time I visited it had changed hands and gone very rapidly downhill — beers ony average, food appeared to be very basic 'chips with everything'. Sad. I won't be back.
