The owners Mel and Paul are incredibly welcoming and the food is amazing here. We have had a lovely few days away and would definitely book again.

Amazing break away with my parents loved it paul and mel are great people lots of help nothing ever a problem will definitely be back so relaxing great places to visit food amazing hotel clean and everything in place with the covid restrictions home from home hope to see you real soon. Went to porlock today sat outside the lorna doone hotel was moved on the landlady I thought they were friendly and welcoming but was wrong/very disppointed in our welcoming/ will not be going back/

Cracking burger for last night's tea. Service was good.

Lovely food staff very attentive and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere its our 6th visit and definitely won't be our last.

Lovely overnight in Porlock en route to cornwall. Hosts couldn’t do enough for their guests. Dinner fabulous and best coffee and full english breakfast i’ve had in ages.

Had a lovely night at the Lorna Doone hotel, the staff were amazingly welcome and the food was wonderful! Would happily travel the 2 hours back for the Camembert starter will deffo be coming back.

Had a wonderful meal here tonight, local lamb was delicious and the service excellent, attentive without being overbearing. We will be back!

Stayed for 2 nights wonderful hotel and owners, will definitely stay again, and very dog friendly. Perfect for fabulous walks and Exmoor.

Refurbished accommodation — we had a really nice room. And the food in the restaurant is so good we have been back twice since just to eat! The best curry in Porlock.

We stopped over night in the Lorna Doone Hotel. Named after the R. D Blackmore Novel. Unknown to us it was carnival day in Porlock which went up the high street directly passed the Hotel, the whole village turned out it seemed and money was collected for charity and a good time had by all, a great little addition to the day. The hotel is dog friendly, (most important), well run clean, tidy and we had very pleasant stay. The room we stayed in was in the cottage rooms £95 a night for two and our little dog. The room itself was of a very good standard, and en-suite. We had a meal in the evening in the bar-resturante, even though they where full, they managed to get us a table and the meals where of a high standard, we had to wait a short while for the meal but, was well worth it. After a comfortable, quiet nights sleep we had breakfast, again, superbly cooked. Cereals, fruit, toast. As well as the full English there where other choices of cooked breakfast. They even chopped up a sausage for our little dog, and wrapped it up for him. Car parking is as available, but restricted to first come first served. We parked in a street around the corner, with no problems. All in all a very good stay and would not hesitate as to staying here again.

Friendly atmosphere, great staff and hotel. Made to feel very welcome and accommodated our needs. Bed very comfortable. I have a disability which causes neck, shoulder and back pain but no problems for my entire stay. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Clean and fantastic location.

Lovely B&B to stay, Paul & Mel are great chefs & all rooms are nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Car parking spaces are limited to people who know how to park.

The hotel is clean, rooms very, very cute. Really friendly staff and the food super! We will come back for sure,!

Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Off road parking for motorcycle. A very much improved B&B from a couple of years back due to new management. Close to all facilities.

Just returned home from a third visit to the lorna doone hotel and have already booked again for Xmas Paul and Mel can't do enough to make your stay comfortable and relaxing and I must mention Mo a lovely member of staff thank you all.

The rooms are homely warm and have a amazingly comfortable bed
Food was stunning
Our dog glitch enjoyed his Carrot for tea and his sausage for breakfast
I highly recommend this hotel, impeccable and good value for money

Lovely Hotel. Hosts and staff helpful and friendly. Beautiful food in Restaurant. All food locally sourced. Cooked breakfast unbeatable. Lovely longe area’s. Dont dismiss this fantastic Hotel.
