Very spacious, comfortable room.

An absolute sham of a business, my daughter and son in law have arrived today to celebrate their wedding anniversary to be refused entry for non payment despite showing all the evidence they have that shows payment taken and the manager refused to help them… I will be posting this everywhere.

Can only recommend to avoid this place. Was offered an “upgrade” on arrival to which I only dread to think how much worse the original booked room was. It was cold, central heating not working, a small electric heater was provided but not turned on upon arrival, whole place was damp, bathroom floor was damp, whole place very dated and filthy dirty, the plug sockets were full of thick black dust/grime. The tea tray was just a dirty. I had to completely wash the kettle before using it. All around the door frames was old broken tiles, pure grime. A family of spiders were living in the bathroom. Absolutely no view, outside window was obscured by a stone wall!
Door was difficult to open. Had to phone someone (using your own phone)! each time you needed to speak to any staff as no one on reception (not even upon my arrival)
Beds very uncomfortable.
Carpet on stairs filthy and stained.
When I complained I got a rude patronising reply, saying they found no evidence of my complaints (even after photographic proof. ) apparently the rooms had been cleaned thoroughly for Covid (again I dread to think what it would have been like if it hadn’t been cleaned! ) and the reason there was no heating was as they were trying to do their bit to reduce carbon footprint!
Ridiculous reply as having to use an electric heater at such a high rate to warm the room and keep it warm is more damaging.

What a horrible little place. No sense of decency. Never go there.

Doesn’t deserve a single star!
The pictures of the hotel are completely deceiving. When we arrived we thought we had came to the wrong place. No reception, gloomy and dirty throughout the place. Our room was so dark, Cold and Gloomy it was absolutely filthy top to bottom covered in dust, the room absolutely stunk to the point where we had to go to the shop to get air freshener&room spray just so the room was bearable to breath in! The place looked as if it had not been updated since the 1950s. Disgusting would not recommend a stay at wentworth hotel. It should either be refurbished and decorated or shut down! We didn’t even attempt to eat the food that was provided in the price of our stay instead we ate out every night as the food was automatically expected to be dirt.

Room was large but outdated. Room was cold as radiators weren’t working only heat was a small plug in heater that was in the room. No remote control for TV on the wall. Bathroom had cobwebs & needed a thorough deep clean & painting. Overflow leaked heavily outside our window for hours overnight. Shower also outdated but water was hot. Inadequately stocked bar with very little selection on mixers & soft drinks which they put down to a busy night before. Breakfast as an extra charge of £15pp on top of the room price (which was overpriced for the standard) so we left early in the morning & ate in the city.

The room was too uncomfortable and small. The shower room was unfit for purpose. The whole place was filthy.
There is no fire escape despite being on 2or 3 floors and as far as I could see no fire doors. The whole place is a health hazard.
We had a Diabolical night. Mayhem and murder up above us for hours. No reception. No security. Guests had to deal with the morons. No one got any sleep.
We left after 1night into a 3 night stay.
This is obviously why you cannot book a single night because so many people leave after one. So they no doubt re let the room.

The receptionist was accomodating to the guests; however, the room we occupied was utterly dirty. Furthermore, the towels were unclean and there were dusts flying all over the bed. The hotel information and utensils looked like they weren't used for a long time. We requested for our room to be cleaned when we left for a day but the carpets didn't looked like they were vacuumed. We were booked to stay for 4 days and 3 nights, but we had to leave immediately because of that reason. Nevertheless, the receptionist was very hospitable but we still not recommend since it did not give comfort to the guests.

Lovely stay! The manager Danny and his staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Spacious room, beds sooooo comfy, quiet, amazing breakfast, helpful local knowledge, good location. Thank you!

Hotel took £274 off my card on booking (6 weeks in advance) and would not give any leeway when I had to cancel giving them 2 weeks notice… and I’m sure they will re sell the room!

It's an amazing place to spend the weekend. Even managed to make a few local friends due to their highly rated happy our. Saved us a trip to the pub.

Would not recommend. The guest house is very dated. Our shower room was a health hazard, mould, paint peeling off ceiling and walls a hole in the shower tray and a heated towel rail held on with one screw coming away from the wall. Also the smell in the room was not pleasant. I presume the person we spoke to was the manager who was very rude to the point I felt uncomfortable … checked out and moved hotel couldn’t get out quick enough. Now seeking advise to get a refund.

Had a fantastic day in Bath
and a super stay at the hotel.
We had a family room for a girly night.
The beds were very comfy room very spacious and wonderful views.
Breakfast was delicious poached eggs were just perfect.

Nice house hotel, they have nice garden and outdoor pool. It's around 25 min walk from town center, it's on hill so walking back can be hard good value breakfast. Only thing I didn't like is dusty carpet in bedroom.

Excellent base for exploring Bath. Comfortable room with sun lounge & free parking.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. Our room was very clean and the bed very comfy, tea and coffee facilities in the room. It was perfect for our short break in Bath. Short walk in to the centre, uphill on way back, which we really enjoyed as we love walking. We didnt eat there, so cant comment on the food. Perfect for what we needed though. Somewhere comfy to sleep. The staff we met were very friendly. Thanks for a comfortable stay x.

Decent but had great issues with Wi-Fi. So watch out.

Great B&B! Free upgrade and delicious breakfast! Very friendly staff. They let us live our car on their car park for whole day after checkout. Highly recommend to everyone!

Stayed in a standard double. Lovely modern room with a nice view and big light windows. Customer service was excellent! We were offered the chance to park at the hotel even after we had checked out to visit bath and the chance to use the loo before going home! Been to quite a few four star hotels that don’t offer that service! Would definitely come again and very reasonable priced!

Second stay in the apartment at Wentworth house. The room was immaculate. Beds were comfy and warm. Upstairs there is a large TV with corner sofa and table to chill when not sleeping. Breakfast included is freshly made to your taste with choice of options. Coffee, juice and continental breakfast also available if that is your preference. 15 min walk into bath or a 4 min drive. Danny offers great customer service (including letting you back into your room if you accidentally lock yourself out… opps) too cold to use the pool (March) but I assume this is a nice addition to your stay in the summer months. We will be returning for a 3rd visit, and would recommend to anyone.

Not the best I say in this not a 4star as stated in should be a 2 or 3 star will not go back.

Don't stay at this hotel. It's dreadful — dated, dank — the bed creaked every time you moved and I was afraid it would collapse — there was exposed plug sockets and leads that I'm pretty sure are illegal to be left like that. It was cold — we had to ask for heating to go on : there was no bath tub. We left days early as my partner and I couldn't stand to sleep one more night in the room. We could hear every noise above us I. E. Guests going up and down stairs and chairs being moved for dining. The list could go on.

Stayed in Bath over a weekend with my boyfriend. Hotel is walking distance to Bath city centre — it's a nice walk (we didn't get any rain, so were lucky in that sense) and can get a bus back until 11pm (2 options: one for £250 and another for £1). There were instructions at the door. The room was cozy and had a nice 4 poster bed. It was a bit creaky, but was still enchanting. The shower water took some time to heat up and pressure was a bit low, but nothing that stopped us from having a shower. We woke up to the sound of birds singing and the breakfast is very nice with plenty of options: bread, fruit, coffee, juice and a full English (eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, etc…). Owner is nice and gave us advice on things to visit in Bath (e. G. Number 1Royal Crescent which I strongly advise to visit). His Star Trek themed ties added a nice charm to our host ☺

A fine option for a budget break in Bath. Clean, comfortable and friendly. Not posh but perfectly functional.

I wouldn't even give this place one star! Absolutely disgusting service from staff from the minute myself & friends entered, poor quality room along with everything in it. The single bed you could see the springs from beneath the sheets. Asked to swap rooms & had terrible attitude from staff. Freezing cold room too & put in a room in the basement with an outhouse as a view! If you're looking for a nice break away don't go here! Way too over priced for the old style rooms & old style service! Managed to get a refund after booking through a third party website and booked a room in Travelodge right in the centre!

Despite the bad reviews myself and my wife stayed here and location is great for city centre and the breakfast was substantial and staff were great, I would book again.

Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. The location is perfect with just a short walk into town or bus if you prefer. The decor is a little tired but that probably reflects in the price so not a problem.

This is the second time staying here! It's very quirky, the manager is such a lovely person, I do think there are some minor issues that could do with fixing but would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended a good all rounder!

This hotel has bigger toilets than one would expect in the UK. On the other hand, their Wi-Fi is only reachable in the toilet, and the shower jet is only either scorching hot, or ice cold. In terms of reservation policy, Wentworth house hotel is not at all flexible. Their policy turned out to be an unpleasant 100% penalty fee for any change in dates or cancellation, without any interest in offering any solutions for a 12 day reservation. If you think you have the slightest chance of experiencing an unexpected change in plans, this place may not be your best option, as they would charge your credit card for the whole trip before you even get there.

WARNING! they rob you of your consumer rights, my husband is in hospital I have given more then two weeks to let them know, they refuse full refund. Under section 5 they have to give refund. The manager and director didn't care they just want the money no customer care at all. Action is going to be taken place… btw their email address don't work for complains.

The location is great. It is about a 15 minute walk into Bath and is very close to restaurants and shops. The have a great breakfast, you can get a full English breakfast, and the food is good. There is a pool out back, but that can be a bit chilly as it is not heated.

Great value for money hotel, clean rooms and great breakfast.

The hotel is amazing with very nice rooms. The staff are very helpful and the hotel atmosphere is very nice. Parking can be hard but there is a road opposite the hotel when you can park if the hotel parking is full.

I stayed there a few years ago and the staff epically the manager catered all my need during my stay. I was working in bath city center for 8 weeks and stayed at Wentworth house the whole time. Each week I had a different room. Some were small but had everything you need for a short stay at a bnb. But some of the bigger rooms near the garden was nice and cosy. But always clean and if you ask for anything they will help. It's a beautiful stroll down to town but advise getting a 5 mins bus back as it's up hill. But my stay there was really as I felt a part of the bath town culture.

Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff, room nice and clean with good facilities throughout, good transport links to bath city center, all in all I would stay here again and recommend to a friend.

Good B&B with family room (2 single beds) with shower (second floor below roof). Rooms have been recently re-painted and are very clean. Wifi available in the bedroom. Friendly staff. Didn't use the facilities or the bar. Well located to visit Bath (25 min walk to the historical center)

Room was adequate. Had everything you needed. Was a little on the small size but ok. Breakfast was superb. Didn't use any of the facilities, but the grounds looked nice. Staff very friendly, however the bar was extortionate (£9 for a can of fosters and a vodka and coke — not good value at all, and probably explains why we never saw anyone else there! ) All in all, I would stay again.

Its ok for a 2 star hotel. Would I ever stay again? Definitely NO!

Despite reading some bad reviews on the hotel we enjoyed our stay here. Close to town nice little location. A little dated but a nice little room with conservatory over looking the pool and hot tub. Clean hot tub. Would recommend.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. My wife and I had a two night stay at this lovely B&B. Our room (s) was/were spacious with a separate sleeping area to the comfortable bedroom and very peaceful. The staff were really professional, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was of outstanding quality with so much variety, a really peaceful countryside-like location and yet a 10-15 min walk to city. We would certainly stay again. Just one thing to bear in mind though is that they do not provide soya milk if you are lactose intolerant at breakfast.

Absolutely awful! we were pre charged for 2 nights and now I know why. The room was nothing like we expected having seen their marketing, the bathroom was across the hall, the shower did not drain, the toilet did not flush, the room was not serviced and the staff were poor. We were even locked out and had to wait for another guest to let us into the building. Once in, we slept on the sofa. Apparently that was our fault for not reading the website stating that we should have kept the keys and not theirs for asking us to leave them behind reception. Any way basil fawlty has lost his place in the hotel industry to this outfit. Go elsewhere and be unhappy, because that would still surpass any dreadful experience here. We did point out their errors to them and were offered nothing but the door. 1 star is a compliment.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. An uncomfortable bed in a bleak room, no dresser, no a/c, no amenities at all. We tried speaking to the manager to get at least a partial refund for checking out early (the reservation was pre-paid). They were unaccommodating on every level and I imagine the only way they get business is to trick unsuspecting travelers looking online and then keep the money when the travelers arrive and realize what a dump it is. Terrible.

My partner and I checked into this Hotel on Friday 27th September 2013 — and were shown to Room 5 which stank of stagnant water. Not ones to complain — we wandered around the town and returned at 10pm sitting in the hotel lounge. Without warning at 10:25 the ceiling collapsed on top of both our heads — showering us with debris and plaster — we we lucky to escape death or serious injury. My partner Linda took most of the impact suffering cuts, bruising, concussion, and a nasty knee gash. We both suffered from the plumes of dust getting into eyes, nose, throat — and spent most of the weekend sneezing or coughing dust. I called 999 and the paramedics took us to Bath Royal United A&E where after being cleaned up and kept in for observation for 4 hours — we were discharged. We did not complete our stay and left Bath Saturday morning. The owners are ignoring our messages — so I am handing this incident over to Bath Council and Injury Lawyers. This hotel should be closed pending a structural review.

Lovely, friendly family welcoming hotel superb apartment. lovely staff would rate this 9/10 one of our best hotels we ever stayed would use this hotel again when next in bath thank you for a enjoyable stay.

A very nice hotel run by very friendly and helpful staff. The room was exceptionally clean, and most inviting — much appreciated. Our evening meal was delicious we can recommend the 'salmon'. We will definitely come back and recommend the hotel to our friends.

This hotel must be a cover up for something else. This was meant to be a birthday treat. At breakfast I asked for fresh coffee instead of instant, they said no problem, they gave me instant in a cafetiere! The place is not really very clean, and its run very badly. On top of that we noticed on our bank statement, they charged us twice. They will not refund us.
