We stayed at lodges and they are really lovely. Nice and peaceful and really well equipped. The staff cannot do enough to help. Ben on reception was amazing. Would definitely recommend for golfers and non golfers.

One of the most interesting courses around — 36 holes plus a 9 hole par 3. Friendly club with all the facilities.

Without a shadow of doubt the best most friendly golf course in the area, it has everything you need and want from a golf course ️‍♀️, ⛳️

First time playing the valley coarse greens and fare ways were very good condition very enjoyable round.

They support the Cottesmore hunt thugs who commit illegal acts. Not a good place.

Greetham Valley is advertised as a golf, hotel, leisure and conference venue in Rutland. Unfortunately this venue also recently hosted the Cottesmore Hunt. On the 29/02/2020 they allowed the Cottesmore to hold a fundraiser for their nefarious activities.
Perhaps the Hinch family, who own Greetham Valley, are not aware of the undesirable characters they allowed to use their resort. The Cottesmore have been filmed chasing foxes several times in recent months. As well as this there is documented evidence showing the violence this hunts gang of stewards, who are usually masked, regularly dish out to members of the public who stand up to their illegal and thuggish behaviours. In 2015 a member of the Cottesmore was found guilty of interfering with a badger sett when he blocked it up in advance of a meet. Sett blocking is obviously a necessary practice for illegal fox hunting as it prevents a pursued fox from seeking sanctuary underground. In January this year hunt member Natalie Birney earned herself a criminal record when she received a police caution after attacking an activist on a public road. In 2017 a member of the Cottesmore was caught on camera swinging a chain at the heads of animal rights activists. This person is still a member of the hunt. Another practice of this hunt is to vandalise vehicles used by members of the public who oppose them. They have smashed windscreens, stabbed tyres and smashed out lights.

Had our wedding at Greetham valley, and from start to finish they have been brilliant. Mitch was amazing helping us plan our day, and on the day all the staff couldn’t do enough for everyone. Food was excellent, lodges are amazing and a brilliant breakfast too. Such a beautiful setting. Thank you for making our wedding run smoothly, we couldn’t of wished for a better day. 100% recommend.

We had our wedding here on Friday and from the beginning of booking the venue right until checking out it was perfect. Mitch’s communication was amazing and accommodated any requests I had. On the day Meg was excellent, so friendly, made sure all the timings were correct and did all the swapping items from rooms etc I asked for! Doris was brilliant the night before setting up and taking everything in that I was saying. Nathan was very reassuring, friendly and you could have a laugh with him! All staff were so accommodating.
Guests said how good the food was and how smoothly the whole day went.

Stopped at the cafe with my Goldie 6 miles into our morning 8 mile walk. Signs around the course saying walkers welcome (which is why we stopped). Having the dog with me meant I was unable to have my break inside but no facilities for people to eat outside apart from one rather grubby bench seat. Had to leave Alfie fastened to this while I went in to order. Now the young lady serving was great and the filter coffee and Sausage Bun was very good and reasonably priced (as cafe prices go). My only complaint was a lack of outside seating. Plenty of room for it and a couple or three picnic tables would have turned 3 stars into at least 4. If you are serious about walkers being welcome then is this too much to ask?

Best Sunday carvery around. The staff were fantastic as we were there with our 1 year old and let us have an extra plate for him (no charge). Special thank you to Frank Hinch (owner) who helped with our high chair and to Robert Hinch (owner) who showed us his alpacas and let my son stroke one. That sums up Greetham Valley, friendliest place to play golf and dine I have ever been.

Had a nice time here for a friend's birthday. It's a good spot in a very picturesque location. There was a slight problem when one of the kids beds turned out to be broken and he had to sleep on a mattress on the floor, but the girl on reception wrote him a lovely apology letter and wished him a "happy night camping". He loved it!

Just had a long weekend golf break with 15 mates and it was fantastic, the two courses were in tip top condition and the food afterwards was superb. Very friendly staff, couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend it.

Fabulous location to enjoy leisure time, golf course well maintained, and a real challenge. Excellent food and great atmosphere, with views over the golf course.

Played golf on a society do. Great course (valley), but weather made it very wet with patches of standing water on fairways and some greens. The weather is not the courses fault and it will be beautiful in the summer. Nice steak pie in the bar afterwards too.

Attending a friend's wedding. This venue has a great back drop for photos, the hotel was decorated to a high standard and staff were efficient and polite.

A nice well organised venue. Went for a golf weekend, two courses, good layout. Driving range. Food is decent. Breakfast is not the best the food is fine, but pots are left empty for too long and you have to wait 10-15 minutes for eggs. Being a multi activity venue the place is quite busy with many groups. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Very good value. Nice course with good greens. Lovely pie and chips. Good venue for a one day gathering.

Very pleasant location. Good views. Very good food. Good value for money. Helpful and cheerful staff. Advisable to book ahead for a table. Excellent stop off for lunch if you are walking the area, though do bring a change of footwear. A lovely log fire if you can get close to it! Well worth a visit.

Two courses to play. Both have their own challenges, with the Valley course being the shorter of the Two, but probably the more interesting. There is also a 9 hole par 3 course. The restaurant provides a reasonable priced menu.

Brilliant place. Ideal for walkers as well as golfers. Reasonable prices, great views, a relaxing place to visit. Has all of the traditional hotel food as well as quick snacks. Tea and coffee are very reasonably priced.

Fantastic setting, helpful and well stocked Pro shop, driving range, two great golf courses that are a real challenge, superb club house and great food. What more do you need? I would recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped over here en route elsewhere and was pleasantly surprised considering the low cost of the stay. The receptionist was very welcoming and did warn us that there was a Xmas function that night and they had a large amount of guests. We decided to eat in the room and the restaurant was very accommodating considering that they don't offer a room service facility except for drinks. The minute steak sandwich served with fries and onion rings were fantastic! The hotel was clean and the shower was fantastic, I love a powerful shower The only letdown was the noise the Xmas function guests made, running late into the night and early morning. This was unfortunate but I have learnt that in future I should ask if there are any functions on and ask for a room as far away as possible. Overall a great stay though.

This place is excellent really good stuff and very good food or highly recommended for any work function for party.

Course well presented given the time of year and a pleasure to play. Service received booking the day (Gilly) was truly first class. Food fantastic. Will struggle to find better value for money anywhere in the country. Will be returning very soon!

I stayed here for the night when attending a function so that I didn't need to drive home and could enjoy a few beverages with the meal. Clean comfortable room, buffet style English breakfast available for a small fee. Views over the golf course, sat watching deer on the course whilst I drank my complimentary tea/coffee in the morning before breakfast. Friendly helpful staff and a pleasant stay.

Spent the day here with our golf society on a package and what a great day it was, really well organised and effortless. The carvery after golf was also lovely too, all very nicely cooked and not dried up like some carverys you might visit. The Academy course was nicely laid out and kept well, we also played the Valley course which was superb. Only one gripe, the tees are badly in need of repair or rest to make it even better than 4 stars. We will definitely go back soon!

Great golf courses. Pro shop is well stocked and staff here are well trained and efficient. Bar and food are also very good, I can relax with ease at the club house.

Great courses, fabtastic facilities, however the prices for food and drinks are quite ludicrous. Apart from that, it's a fantastic golf course.

Stopped by here for lunch and a drink yesterday and must say lunch was amazing I had the club sandwich with fries and it was beautiful very filling, was also nice that it was dog friendly we were made very welcome nice staff excellent food and excellent surroundings.

Lovely venue with two great golf courses and good food in the restaurant. Rooms are good with comfortable beds. Bar prices are reasonable. Friendly staff.

Great comference room however food was terrible. If its a ploughmans lunch then at least cook the part baked bread properly and give more than half a slice of ham. Ive had better in a greasy spoon.

Played the par 3 9 hole course which was a joy as it was in really good condition and a great little course to hone your short game. Then played the valleys course, wish I took advantage of the buggies on offer as is a lil steep in places (if I was fitter wouldn't be a problem) couldn't fault the course impeccable condition and suits all levels of handicap.

Beautiful golf course with great views from the club house. I attended a work meeting here and the meeting room and facilities were good. However the sandwiches provided were a little uninspiring and there was occasional clattering sounds coming from the kitchen next door.

We came here for work purposes on a weekday, so it was quiet. The room was clean and larger than normal with very good Wi-Fi. Our dinner at the restaurant was really good and value for money with the 3 course deal at £13.50. The hot breakfast was cooked to order which was great as well except the wait as we had to go to work. A special thank you to Doris at the restaurant as she remembers what I drank the night before and was very pleasant.

Very friendly staff and a free mini bus service from the local campsite where we staying in a lodge. Food was very good. Great views from the clubhouse restaurant over the hilly golf course. Didn't play any golf but if we go back to Rutland I'll definitely consider taking my clubs.

Room was great with a lovely view of the golf course. Bed and pillows were really comfortable making a great nights sleep. We would highly recommend using the restaurant and having the Black Rock steak which are served cooking on a hot lava rock so you can cook to you own taste, we really enjoyed it.

I'm a member there and it's the best 2 courses around the area.

Had a great stay at Mill Cottage for a week excellent pet friendly facilities a proper home from home. All and more were provided for. Plenty to see and do nearby. Need to go back though spent too much time enjoying the free onsite fishing 10 out of 10 see you again soon. Chris and Maggie from Irvine.

Great hotel, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Good location, comfortable stay and I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Would stay here again.

I stayed here before the Vitruvian Triathlon in 2011. The did not bat an eyelid when I wheeled my (admittedly quite pretty) bike in. I left LONG before breakfast (you have to be at the start about 5am). It was a dark road with no lights so do bring some (good ones) if you're cycling to the race from here. There aren't even any white lines on the road so it's v scary in the dark. It was so dark I missed my left hand turn off, cycled into town and had to make my way back from there — thankfully along lit roads — to the start. My overall impression of the hotel was immaculate. A great all-round destination. A lovely hotel in extensive grounds, a great venue and with golf, fishing, a gym, bar and dining area.
