Absolutely perfect, staff were so friendly, the room was so clean spacious and comfortable, food was lively. Highly recommended.

They are trying to look like a boutique hotel, never been so far. Rooms are an awful imitation of what they should look like… staff is not prepared or trained enough… So rude… they are polite with you just to compensate their lack of service. Food is cooked by anyone, there is no chef in the building… So many negative things about this place that I wouldn't suggest it to my worst enemy… Just good at entertain you with some regular conversational bull… it. Better when the manager or other member of staff is drunk… Food tastes mostly off.

Great rooms across from quaint bar. (where check-in is located) Room and bathroom were spacious with king bed. Location is close to Christ Church but at least 10 minute walk. (Making it a quiet location in a residential neighborhood albeit not exactly "downtown") About 20 minute walk from Oxford station. Staff was friendly and Marlow cask ale on tap. Would definitely stay again!

Dog friendly hotel. Very reasonable location. £4 to city center by taxi. Breakfast is very good with dog.

This hotel is OK, some positives and negatives the photos do not quite reflect the quality of the hotel. the hotel is located in a residential area. This means there is no shops around and requires a bit of walking distance for whatever you may need, however this can be quite nice. The room I was in was noisy as it was on the road which for a residential area is quite busy. The sound proofing was not great to the circulation area, you can hear every single sound next door or the hallway. the breakfast was not included which is a problem for me with claiming expenses. the staff were very pleasant and helpful there are some quirky things that I love such as the help yourself snacks, and a free glass of wine. In a nice way you may say it's a relaxed environment.

While the rooms are a little quirky, the staff couldn't be better. Extremely friendly, and some of the best customer service I have received and seen.

The premium rooms are very spacious, handy with a family.

This is a nice hotel, but the service is quite amateurish. You check in at the cafe, they give you a free welcome drink on arrival, but ours took 40 minutes which is s bit ridiculous. You don’t get a key, you get a keypad number (and I question if this is changed every day? ). They are friendly though. Parking is limited, and not for the nervous driver, and you need to book in advance at £10 per car. Lots of free snacks though, and a good price to be this central.

We had High Tea in the cafe & it was very nice, great service.

I arrived here by a late train around 10:30 pm, and I called the number you left 01865 813580 13 times and Whatever number I can found. It’s so sorry that I can’t get thru any. …
This is a hotel and I don’t understand why it can be closed! And what happened to the number supposed to provide a customer basic help. Here I ask for my full amount refund and a formal apologize letter. Waiting for your reply.

Very expensive! £200 for one night! The apartment was good but nothing special for this kind of money.

We had booked the biggest room and we're expecting a little extra to go with it but it was very basic, with simple things missing such as TV cables, batteries in the electric candles and washing liquid or tea towel for the kitchenette. The room was dirty with marks on the sheets and lots of hairs in the bathroom, had many things broken, no instructions on how to get in touch with reception to try and get this sorted — I'm not sure there was one other than the cafe. After complaining they offered a discount off our next stay, safe to say I would not be staying again.

Staff were a blunt and quite rude and made check in and breakfast uncomfortable and awkward, rooms were set too hot and the lights and shower didn't work properly. We were given an "upgrade" because the room we booked was unavailable but had to pay for the upgrade. On the brighter side they did provide complementary snacks and are only a 25 minute walk from the city centre.

We stayed in the Sky loft which was reported as their best room. We really enjoyed our time in Oxford and our time here. There were a few issues that less forgiving guests may not like such as the spongy bed, the sink plug that was broken along with the shower controls in the bath. The room was impeccably clean with lots of little touches to make your stay comfortable, such as heated floor in bathroom. The staff were all extremely helpful and very friendly. The barmen on duty when we checked in was very easy on the eyes and friendly offering us a free drink. Overall we honestly liked our stay here and would happily come back next time in Oxford. Some other reviewers have made comments about noise between rooms but we didn't hear a peep.

It was convenient, very convenient for exploring Oxford, along a jogging path, 5minutes walk to shops and restaurants, friendly staff, simple yet clean.

The room itself was serviceable with all the necessary amenities but I must say. What utterly abysmal customer service, having specifically requested a late check out over the phone multiple times for a work colleague who was staying in Oxford, she was not only woken up repeatedly from 10am to midday but also charged an extra 40 pounds for not vacating by 12 on the dot. This behaviour is atrocious and especially since their website advertises itself as having 'One rate, no add ons' you'd think they could remember to note down something like a late check out when they were called just the night before. Would not recommend to anyone and will suggest people actively avoid in future.

Really enjoyed our stay at Ethos hotel Oxford. Such a warm welcome from staff with complimentary drink and snacks on arrival, lovely room and great breakfast. Highly recommend.

Such a friendly welcome with complimentary glass of fizz each. Also have range of nibbles which was very welcomed as we had been shopping all day. Rooms were clean and modern. Put our rooms all next to eachother without us needing to ask. Bed was very large and extremely comfy. Very close to everything. Easy cab ordering system. Had a parking spot allocated for us. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Staff all very helpful and friendly. Will stay here again when next in Oxford.

Nice clean, modern room in a quiet location. Breakfast served at the cafe across the road was good, as was the pizza I had for dinner. Bed was too soft though and was two singles joined together, not a proper king.

Parking would be the biggest problem in high season. They do have some but not enough for all rooms. The room was a good size we had room 3. Bathroom is small but well appointed & has underfloor heating. Location is good for the city centre. Would stay again if I could guarantee a parking space which they can do at £10 on a first come first served basis.

Staff are friendly, but the room itself was disappointing. Bed was awful, super springy and uncomfortable, and the walls were paper thin, next door set their alarm ten minutes before mine and woke me up. I'm really loud and was watching YouTube videos until at least 11pm so I bet our neighbours were well annoyed with us. They're going for that boutique city hotel thing but not quite hit the nail on the head, and for the price I'd have expected better. ✌

We were there on business. The staff was friendly and their cafe across the street was perfect. It was a ten minute walk to the Oxford campus or five minutes by taxi. A quick walk across the River Thames and there's a grocery. It's nestled in a quiet neighborhood, but less than six minutes from other restaurants and pubs. The room was very clean including the bedding.

The manager was great and extremely helpful to make sure our stay was great. After seeing some low rating reviews online, she isn't a miracle worker but if she is able to help you I wouldn't doubt that she would try her best. I ended up staying there for work and stayed in two separate suites. Both were very nice with multiple flat screen tv, desk or kitchen type table, couch, fast internet, mini fridge and good food/coffee at the cafe. The both rooms looked like they were newly redone and finished nicely. One of the suites even had a heated floor… It was unnecessary but also glorious when you get out of the shower! I only had breakfast at the cafe and got the English breakfast both times. It wasn't anything amazing but it was good and I'll probably order it again if I go back. Overall, I had a great two nights there and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. My interactions with the staff and the manager, Sharon, made my stay exceptional. All were very helpful and definitely went beyond my expectation to make my stay worth 5 stars. If I go back to Oxford this will be the first place I try to book.

A strange experience at the Ethos hotel — never entirely sure what the place was trying to be? Me and my partner stayed one night in room 16 (in the new complex) which had bath, sitting room and kitchenette. There were lots of things broken and poorly installed despite the fact that a lot of money had ovioisly been spent on it. Our room didn't look anything like the photos on the website and the Wi-Fi didn't reach the room. A perfectly pleasant hotel, but disappointing when it didn't match the website or the price. Obviously a lucky dip on what room you get! Wouldn't stay again.

Fantastic boutique hotel! Me and my partner were put in the newly converted building across the road (room 15) and it was lovely, spacious and tastefully decorated and very very well equipped, massive TV, full sky, beautiful bathroom suite etc. Perfect hotel in a great location quite yet close to town and the thames, and extremely well priced. I'd thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely perfect! Had the sky loft which comfortably fitted four of us. Great facilities and really nice finish all round. Would definitely stay there again.
