Reviews of Central Backpackers 2*
Cleanliness and kindness, and low price.
Amazing hostel! Full kitchen is really useful and clean. They really make it feel like home.
The first clean hostel I've been to. Extraordinary staff, great location and excellent facilities.
Stayed here last night after an eve t. Facilities were lovely and clean and would recommend. Will certainly go back again.
Great space, lovely living areas including a wonderful terrace with a bar. Only downside is the hostel is near several nightclubs so some people may find it difficult to sleep but they do provide earplugs! :)
A really nice place. Cheap, cozy and quiet. Very strict policy of no food and loud noise in room, so not a perfect spot for party people, but suitable for people who need a quiet, comfortable and cozy time. Clean and tidy environment, I stay here for two nights and I walk on the floor for three days with my bare feet. Nothing slimy or gross on the floor, it's always clean. Staffs are really nice, polite and friendly. The only flaw is the smell in rooms, but I won't blame staffs, the smells usually come from smelly socks/feet or humid clothe/shoes from travellers. Meh.
Awesome hostel for a very cheap price and on a good location. The beds and room are comfortable and the kitchen is a great addition. This also results in a good atmosphere were people can easily connect in a relaxed way.
Rooms have beds packed into them (like one small person could fit between them), pretty sure some people are permanent residents. The kitchen storage is a joke, there is a fairly large hostels worth of people expected to share a bar fridge. There was three toilets and three showers in the ladies, I assume same for men. The toilets were almost always blocked (I wasn't surprised with the number of people using them). The hallway smelled funky and the space was gloomy. Was a place to put my head down to sleep but didn't spend more time than necessary inside.
I appreciate free access to computer and hair dryer that I missed at a different place.
It was just one night but we had a fantastic stay! People super friendly and made us feel like home!
If I had to go to Oxford again I'd choose this hostel!
Everything was very clean. Very nice staff. Lovely bar, cheap beer.
After staying in crappy/dirty hostels for the last month, it was so nice to stay at a place that was clean. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were thick and soft. The community areas were fun as well. Each bed has its own USB and plug. I’m a little older and they grouped me in a female dorm with similar aged women — which I appreciated. As a solo traveler — I felt safe and it was in a good location. I would stay here again.
Fun place, good staff, cheap, clean.
Worst place to stay. Not clean & staff are not friendly. They also cheated me. I booked a 4 bed mixed dorm while they gave me 8 bed mixed dorm without refund! Even they didn't try to resolve the issue. The staff was very reluctant to handle the customers properly. One of the worst places I have stayed ever.
Very Good price-quality ratio. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very well located.
I stayed 3 days in this hostel bathrooms a little dirty and hard beds do not recommend… However it would be good for a student or to stay a few days.
A very fun and cozy place!
I've visited this HOSTEL in April, 2017. I simply love this place. The staff is so good. Hygienic Rooms & washrooms, Best Breakfast etc etc. So if you going to oxford, You must explore this hostel. Love you Central Backpackers team. I'll come soon.
Stayed for a week while I was looking for a permanent accommodation in Oxford. Complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings, and spacious kitchen to cook yourself. They provide earbuds for light sleepers.
Decent central location. My stay was only over a one night duration. Hostel is fit for purpose, welcomed warmly by staff, key card access seemed to work sufficiently. The power in the shower I used was adequate. The general hygiene of the place was satisfactory in my opinion. The atmosphere was friendly but there didn't seem to be any organised events/tours/ pub crawls etc on the one night I stayed. There is a main club just outside the hostel, therefore the noise can be extremely loud in the middle of the night. This was a small price to pay in my opinion, but if noise pollution puts you off, you want want to reconsider this Hostel. Overall, decent experience.
Excellent backpackers with cool roof terrace, quite noisy at night with clubs next door but they supply you with free ear plugs so it's all fine.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal for relaxed travellers.
Oxford Backpackers has an art piece with the words, "Funky hostels" and this place fits the bill, unfortunately it's more of a "what's that funky smell? ", rather than a "funky beats, man" kind of place. Why replace the carpet when you can just put wierd fragranced white powdered down on it?
Positive + Direct at the station inexpensive negative — (recommendation) — Breakfast consists of toast and jam (no fruit, no vegetables, no cheese or similar) — at night an optachless or so was brought into our room, I think the view is good that they are allocated empty beds, ever But it would be nice for one night who they would be allowed to shower beforehand. The other guests were down to one no backpakers and looked more like they were using the accommodation as a cheap apartment and not enjoying steady work. In the morning we saw dan 2 more backpakers, these were probably in another room. Presumably it is also better not to stay in the 18 bed room but in the 7 bed, you probably can't get there.
Good location to downtown and the university. Nice rooms and pleasant open common area.
Comfortable beds in fun, movie-themed rooms. Three showers and at least two washroom facilities, with two toilets each, all in wonderfully clean condition. Well equipped recreational rooms for moviegoers, study/meals and partying. Near to useful amenities, such as carparking, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets and more.
Very good atmosphere, staff to Majísimo. As far as the facilities well in general, although there was always a wait to use the kitchen and the bathroom, and some people in the room were very noisy late at night.
I really enjoyed staying here. The rate is cheap for a hostel which includes a free breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful. It has clean shower-rooms and clean toilets as well. It is close to bus station, and it has a strategic location to many interesting spots in Oxford. Although the bed sheet was thin but it’s no biggie for me. I still had a nice stay here.
Very freindly staff, great facility's and room, good location. There was a slight sewage smell in one of the corridors. Overall a lovely stay and will be back.
The place is very nice, clean and there are common spaces.
Excellent place for a short stay. Very helpful and approaching staff. Clean and tidy place. Kitchen is a bit small and could be tight in the evening in there though all guests are friendly to each other and common atmosphere is great. You feel like being on the international space station. People are so diverse. Wi fi has fantastic reception and is very fast. Unfortunately there is no free parking nearby but that is a common issue for Oxford.
Good location — less than 10 mins walk to the centre and train station. Shared showers are pretty clean.
Lovely rooms lovely kitchen and social area.
Stayed here overnight for work this week. I loved the place. A fun atmosphere and great value. I'm 6'3" and the beds were suitable for me. The ONLY downside was the noise from the very close night club's. It wasn't too bad but definitely a consideration.
Stayed for 1 night with a friend to see a band play in Oxford. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall vibe was very relaxed and informal making it a great place to chill out and stay, especially for friends having a couple of days exploring around town. The location is fantastic and easy to reach from the bus stops, being a 10 minute walk from the megabus stops. We booked some beds in the 18 bed mixed gender room, but single sex dorms are available. Toilets and shower cubicles are really clean, the dorms are clean but the linen could do with a touch up as it feels worn (but still clean and comfy). The sleep was warm and comfortable and the free breakfast in the morning was great. I'd definitely come back.
One of the worst hostels I've ever stayed at. Loud, quite dirty and two out of three toilets on the girls bathroom didn't work. Bathrooms in general were the dirties I've ever seen in a hostel and I've travelled Australia and most of Asia. Worst thing: we booked a twelve bed dorm, but that was connected to another twelve bed dorm which actually made it a 24 bed dorm because there was no doors between those two. None of my friends including me could sleep at all because of the heavy traffic of people coming and going (makes sense in a cheap 24 bed dorm). Long story short, we paid for something that we didn't get. Unfortunately Oxford only has a small offer of hostels but I'd recommend the other one that there is because this definitely underperformed. Two stars because the staff that was trying to be helpful and it wasn't too expensive.
Hi to all my brothers and sisters at Oxford backpackers it's your favourite Bruce Wayne I have some bad news and some good news bad news is I'm homeless on the the street and lonely and suffering from depression the good news I'm getting the help I need to make me better and when I'm better I promise come visit u guys so Josh Alberto Xavier/Roberta xavi lecente Ivan fabricho Laurie dv Amanda navel Patricia and my favourite femme fatale blondina thanks for listening and see u guys soon mi familiar and my mez a mes.
It was a pretty nice place and comfortable. Besides being a quiet place unlike other establishments of the same franchise.
Nice place to stay as backpacker. Has a mixed dorm and female dorm. The toilets has a shower and separated the gender. You can meet another traveler in the common room. They provided the kitchen to cook your own meal. Breakfast like cereal, tea and coffee are provided. You can reach the tourist place by walking. The chinese restaurants located in front of the hostel. If you open the windows at night, you can smell the food from the restaurant.
Wicked place to stay staff were all quality only thing I noticed was had the form of ten peeps didn’t see1 of them lol like having a whole room for ten to myself bit odd but not complaining n Bar too was a bit like it but loads of fun in town with workmates n lost room card n then found it when I got home but luckily was working their till I chopped my finger off a bit but still handed it back in. So hope they hav me back soon might take my boy next time he loves a bunk bed.
Absolutely amazing hostel. Staff were welcoming, all facilities were clean and showers and bathrooms were well kept. Linen was provided and the beds were actually comfortable, with towels also free. Great location too, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Oxford and most colleges and attractions.
A friend and I spent 2 nights at the hostel on 21st and 22nd July. The first night's stay was an absolute dream, simply delightful. Unfortunately during the second night I awoke to find a naked man staggering around the room and upon further inspection realised that he had evacuated both his bowels and bladder on my bed and possessions. An unpleasant awakening, I'm sure you'll agree. Having woken two nearby sleepers to warn them of the faeces located near the foot of their beds, I relocated myself and my salvageable possessions to the reception area. Regrettably I here encountered a second naked man in the midst of a seemingly rather bumpy acid trip, whose antics made any further sleep rather difficult. He smashed a number of glasses on the floor and was dancing on the glass whilst attempting to engage me in both conversation and physical behaviour of an amorous nature, neither of which I was quite in the correct mood for. Having cleared up the broken glass and supervised the gentleman for an hour or two until he became somewhat subdued. I then explained to the receptionist, who had just arrived to prepare breakfast, that there was both blood on the floor of the reception and human faecal matter in and around bed 16 of room 11. I then left the hostel rather prematurely to go for a nice walk around the city, my appetite for breakfast being somewhat diminished. Despite having recounted the above to the hospital management I never received a reply to my email…
Great place, lovely place to spend a few days. Everything was perfect, a really nice place with really nice staff.
Positives — cheap Negatives — oomggggg. Stayed in the 12 person shared room. It was cold outside so no one would open a window. >_> The room was a thick cloud of fresh arse. I would have to leave to room to get real air. Felt like I was trying to sleep in a portable toilet on a hot summer day… air thick like an Indian curry buffet. When I got up and looked around @ 3am half the people were still awake because the stank way too nauseating. I honestly did not need a blanket it was so humid in the room, the stank was enough to keep me sweaty. Its a good story now but try to avoid lol.
Friendly staff. And a great location. The bedroom was a little dirty with empty packets and random papers left under the bed. The only other thing I have at fault was the lack of personal power supply beside each bunk.
Good facilities, pool table, kitchen, bar and lounge area. Beds are on the hard side and the pillows are very flat. Also not overly clean but great staff.
I was lucky got a room for my self. It is a nice hostel but it is getting a little bit old and tiered. Friendly and helpful staff and good location.
Best hostel of my trip so far. The staff is amazing. If you're a light sleeper, the clubs nearby are definitely very loud, but if you sleep heavy, stay here and get at home!
Awesome place, great location Back next week, gonna be niiiice.
Small rooms and unpleasant smell.
Now, I was only there with a friend for the night before a race. It was (hmmmm, how can I put it? ) terrible! The hostel is above a club and there is another one just across the street. It was loud until early morning. The best thing you can do is to join the party. Otherwise it is a clean hostel, well organised, well located with everything nearby (restaurants, the station, the canal, the clubs). The staff were cool, they stored our bags and even allowed us to use the showers after the race. There is breakfast — which is charged extra, good Wi-Fi, plenty of toilets and shower rooms, hair drier, etc.
The best place to stay in Oxford. Lovely staff, perfect location and it is pretty nice!
Thank you Mick for the cigarette, in Cologne Airport. See you soon in Oxford.
Quality place. If you want a night out then this is the place to stay — right by bars and clubs. If you want a good night's sleep, possibly not for you on a friday or saturday.
Best hostel ever! You won't find one with a better showering experience and the staff are amazing. Great value for money!
This hostel was absolutely disgusting. I am giving two stars because of how friendly and helpful the staff were at reception, the free breakfast and the location. They are the only redeeming qualities of the hostel. The hostel on arrival was dirty and did not smell pleasant. We checked in and were in the 18 bed dorm. We went into the room which is split into two sections with as many beds crammed in a tiny space, our bed placements were not even next to each other so we went back to reception and they quickly changed so our beds were next to each other. The room would be much better as a 10-12 dorm, they are obviously just keen to make as much money as possible. The room smelt vile, and there were only six plugs for everyone. We went straight out and explored the city, came back at 10pm to avoid being in the hostel as little time as possible. From 5:30am there were alarms going off every 10 mins with people completely ignoring them, obviously not the fault of the hostel but maybe plan it so all the workers are in one room and guests not wanting to be up at 5:30 in other rooms. The showers were ice cold in the morning, extremely unpleasant to wash your hair in. We had to stay in a different room our second night, it was a much better room as a 10 bed room that didn't smell as bad, but did only have two plugs which seems ridiculous. I would not stay in this hostel again, nor would I recommend.
Left our bags there for the day. They charged us 4 pounds per backpack, which seemed reasonable. Bags were returned to us at the end of the day safely. Would use for left luggage again.
Not recommended at all.
1. No sockets in the room
2. Bathroom and toilet feel not new
3. There are only 2 sinks and you need to line up in the morning.
4. Hair dryer only 1, each time less than 1 minutes of overheating on their own turn off, and time to the hair dryer will be collected away
5. Breakfast is full, toast, jam, cereal is very not excellent, milk, tea bag ordinary.
This is a great hostel. It can be pretty noisy at night with lots of nightclubs along the street, however it's much quieter than Oxford backpackers around the corner, and they give out free ear plugs. There is a vending machine with power converters and padlocks as well as snacks. The pillows are a little flat, but I slept well. There are plenty of individual showers, and they had a hair dryer. There is a kitchen open until 10pm and reception is open until 11pm. They have tea and coffee available.
My experience in the hostel was fantastic. The location coudnt be better and price was very affordable comparing to oxford prices, so with the free breakfast I consider this a good value hostel. The highlight of my stay was the pub tour the hostel organised for free. They took us to historical pubs around the city. A good opportunity to break ice and get to know other guests. I met people from everywhere and ended up carrying on my trip with people I met there. Definitely go back if I have the chance.
Nice hostel. Good price. Shaded rooms and bathrooms. Nice people in the staff. Nice common space. Perfect for visiting students or youngsters attending some conference.
It was a very social atmosphere. The staff was very friendly.
A good place to stay on the cheap in Oxford. We were in town as a large group and they put us up in a room for all 12 of us, rather than sharing with others, which was really nice of the staff. The facilities were basic, but more than enough for a decent night's sleep, and fine for the price. The free breakfast was also an added bonus! The location was great. It's a short walk from the station and about 5 minutes from the main drag with lots of restaurants, pubs and bars. There's no parking, so if you're in a car, the easiest we found was to use the park and ride, where it was only a few pounds for 24 hours. All in all, worth checking out if you're looking for somewhere at a good price!
Second time staying here, and again, best experience in a hostel ever! It feels so homely and cosy, and the staff is nice and really fun, great people to have a laugh with and very very helpfull.
Guests are also fun, and respectful. Everything in the hostel is 100% And well looked after. I am definitely coming back here, Oxford is my home.
It is what it is, typical backpacker's hostel. Nice vibe but nothing to right home about. Good central location.
This hostel is one of the best I've ever been at. The location is perfect and is walking distance to all of the main sights. They also serve free breakfast so the price is a bargain. The best part is the staff. They are all great, caring, easy going people who will go out of their way to help you. The vibe of the place is so fun. If you're looking for the ritz carlton this isn't the place to go, but if you're looking for an easy, fun, safe, and memorable experience this is the place to go. I would recommend to anyone!
Friendly staff, cheap and really sociable. They offer everything you need, including entertainment and it is quite clean for a hostel. Only thing you should know is that you might need earplugs to sleep (thanks to snoring roommates), but they sell those too.
The location was perfect and so was the staff — always willing to help with whatever we needed. Everything worked smoothly. The backpackers fulfills everything one would expect from a good hostel.
They said payment would be done on arrival, but they took the payment from my card without informing me 2 days before. Requested people to be quiet after 22:30, however, the staff kept talking and laughing loudly after 23:00 and didn't stop after I reported. Even more, played music after 24:00. Sleeping in room 1 was HELL. The door of the gents kept screaming, definitely needs repair. Imaging people walking in and out every 5 mins. About the facilities, shower was dirty and not enough for the size of the hostel; only two power sockets at a ridiculous location inside the room which would be impossible to reach if someone was sleeping on the bed; inside the building was ridiculously hot. Already complaint about the situation we encountered after checkout, of course, nothing was offered.
Yessica and the staff were fantastic. Nice rooms with a cool bar.
Cozy and welcoming! Beds were comfortable and the rooms/bathrooms are clean. Breakfast included is great!
(-) Breakfast is nothing of the ordinary as well as being poorly laid out. The common area despite being ample, you need a painting, even at the tables. Cleanliness can be much higher. The rooms should have a somewhat thicker pillows and above all watch the volume of the people coming in and out of the rooms. My classmates were drunken British teenagers who didn't have the slightest consideration for the break.
You should be informed when making the reservation that you need to bring some cash (pounds) because if you should not go to the cashier. To spend a night, it's fine. For nothing else.
The breakfast is nothing to average, besides being poorly laid out. The common area in spite of being wide, it needs a painting, although it is in the tables. Cleaning can be much greater. The rooms should have some rather thick pillows and above all watch the volume of people coming in and out of the rooms. My companions were drunken British teenagers who did not have the least regard for rest.
You should inform yourself when making the reservation that you need to bring some cash (pounds) because you should not go to the cashier. For an overnight stay, fine. Nothing more.
(+) Wi-Fi is good. The common area is wide. It's not cold in the rooms. The water in the showers is very good temperature. The staff is very nice and they provide you with everything you can.
The Wi-Fi is good. The common area is spacious. It is not cold in the rooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Very good hostel at a more than affordable price. Clean, well located (just two minutes from the train station) and very well catered for. Recommended!
Well… I like it, is for only a couple of days.
Amazing hostel where I was with some friends.
— Good ubicaion — super nice staff — clean — cool common areas — has several gambling nearby where you enjoy good vibes.
The hostel is located in an area very close to the centre and the bus and train station. The people who work there are very nice and friendly. The only problem you have is that you need to renovate the facilities as it shows the passage of time, and even if they clean it gives the feeling of dirty and left.
I've been there twice and I've been surprised. It is cheap and very well located. The quality is bad and the showers do not have ventilation grates. Although it includes free breakfast.
You get what you pay for… £20 for a night which it wasnt bad (in terms of the price). The check out time is 0800-1030 but the receptionist was late for 15mins which caused me to miss my train. I asked other staff for help yet they have no clue of the reception's operation system. I wish they could have cross-trained some of their staff just in case thier colleagues are in an emergency or they are late…
Very friendly and cozy feeling. Very clean overall and cheap beers in the bar.
A great hostel! I really enjoyed the warm vibe, which was in my opinion due to the small size of the hostel. The staff was friendly and a lot of free services are offered. The hostel is located on a 5 minute walk from the centre of Oxford, which was quite nice.
Cons… No AC and reception has limited hours. This can be really bad of a drunk roomie becomes intolerable and decides to terrorize the room at 4 am. Pros… Location and price. The bus and train station are less than a 100m away. Also the showers had ample hot water… Which you will need after sweating all night if visiting in the summer. The Wi-Fi is very fast and fairly consistent. Last but not least… The breakfast is free and basic.
One of the best hostels I've ever been. The staff is so friendly and kind. The environment is nice, you can share and have a good time. In addition, there is a kitchen with everything you need to cook and prepare your meals. For entertainment you have computers, a pool table, board games, books, television and a nice bar with the cheapest prices! The location is great and it's easy to get the city centre. Bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent, you have plugs everywhere in order to charge your mobile phone. Come and fall in with the Oxford Backpackers Hostel. Julian and Tania from Argentina ❤️
Overall this was a great hostel. The staff were excellent and the place was meticulously cleaned. I also loved the decor and style of the dorms. The bathrooms were a bit awkwardly laid out so that everyone was essentially sharing two sinks, and I could have used garbage cans and mirrors in the shower rooms. My only real complaint was that the smoke from the covered patio seeped into the hostel because of the adjoining windows. Otherwise fantastic.
Of all the hostels I've ever been to, is that I left with the worst feeling (and the most expensive I've found). It was not very clean, there were a few sinks for the people that we were, and smelled a bit bad (too many people or poor ventilation). I understand the price because oxford is an expensive city, but they could have worked a little more. Would not come back.
Very disappointing! Their website screwed up our booking and they didn't tell us when we checked in, so we came back to our stuff in trash bags with some of other people's things and missing some of ours. Then they refused to give us a refund for the later night despite their mess up. Plus the toilets don't flush and the rooms are so loud even the ear plugs can't block out the insane amount of noise.
Brutal atmosphere, karaoke, great staff and a super location near all. Recommended.
It is an OK hostel nothing really special for me. I have to say it is a party hostel with a lot of young travelers. If you are into party, music meeting young people this is not a bad place for you. The kitchen is pretty well furnished not much space for your things though. The fridge is small for the size of the hostel but it has all the necessary utensils even if they are old and warned out. A bit messy but understandable for the young crowed. The rooms are crowded and there is no space for anything. You better get a bottom bunk so you can store your luggage underneath. Tough luck if you get a top one. There aren't plugs in the rooms except on one side so unless you are the lucky one you won't charge. The worst thing is the internet. It hasn't worked the whole time. It might be different in the future but for now they said it is very temperamental it works for some and for other it doesn't. Come on, call someone and have it fix. In the end if you look for a one nighter it might not be a bad place, not that you have many other choices in town at this price anyway.
Furniture and things are a little old, but the staff are helpful and the location is good!
The place feels kind of sketchy coming in, it looks like some people live in the dorm rooms. The dorm rooms are also very very small for the amount of people they put in it, there is no place for your bags other than in the middle of the room. Most of the lockers are broken and there are not enough power outlets. Furthermore are there nightclubs right nextdoor, this means that you your very loud music till 3/4 am and a lot of people screaming in the street. The only plus is the location and the free breakfast you get.
Small and comfy hostel in a great location, 5 mins from plenty of restaurants, museums and shops. The staff are very friendly and the awesome garden deck makes for a great place to chat to other travellers and relax. Free towels, breakfast and ear plugs are also a nice bonus too.
Such a good Hostel! The one that we usually look for! — Great location, people all around the world, helpful staff, cleaning. What else do we need? Thanks for making our time in Oxford enjoyable! Peculiar :)
Very nice hostel, clean, staff very friendly! All the residents seem to stay up pretty late though, so it can be tricky to get to sleep sometimes as it's a small hostel so loud music gets everywhere. Would stay again, definitely!
Unfortunately I spent a few days there but after all for sure I won't go back anymore. Dirty, noise, and expensive. I know it's just a hostel but trust me. For the same price You can go in a B and B!
The hostel is very friendly and has a good atmosphere. There's a bar with cheap alcohol in the big common room. It's close to everything with a few nice restaurants on the street. Staff are friendly and bathrooms are clean. Wifi isn't the best, and the free continental breakfast is very basic (as would be expected). Overall a good hostel.
Best place for backpackers. Super friendly staffs.
Staff was overwhelmed by their tasks, sheets were old and smelled awful, breakfast was very basic. Generally an ok hostel, but had expected more from what is costed.
Never met the service Oxford Backpackers were offering. The price list on the web site was totally different what they gave as by email and the replying took so long that NOBODY has that time when they are planning their vacation. And the announced reasons why the prices differed from the price list were just lame… So Oxford Backpackers Below all the limits!
Central Backpackers is the best place to stay if you are visiting Oxford. Whether you're travelling alone or with a friend, you will feel right at home. The staff is amazingly friendly, always smiling and willing to help. They are very approachable and have helpful tips on good places to eat, the best coffee spots around and how to spend your time in Oxford. The hostel is very clean, in a prime location and has all the amenities you can think of including Wi-Fi, laundry service, free breakfast and comfy beds. It is walking distance to everything you would want to see in beautiful Oxford and the nightlife is a few doors away. You meet a lot of fun and exciting people from all over the world during your stay and the adventures are endless. Reserve online because they get booked pretty fast and have fun! I highly recommend it.
Everything was easy, the staff were welcoming and helped out with any questions I had. For the price it was more than I was expecting. The walls weren't all beige with the furniture to match, and the staff weren't all in ties and name badges but it had a lot more character and they all wore great smiles :) You can hear the hustle of nightclubs but as a heavy sleeper once I was out I wasn't woken. I would recommend and would definitely will stay at again if i'm in the area.
We put customers who pay $ 40 with nicks employees that the evening invites girls a sleep in their beds and you above you hear everything (and feel). The dorms in question are big brothels, employees build tents with sheets for to protect from light and do their small business. If you (the paying customer) have the misfortune to put something on the bed of another we're at the door. Asked £5 deposit that you bring your sheets (? ).
Really a crap hostel.
Had a great time in Oxford greatly because of the people I met at Oxford backpackers, very cool staff and budget friendly.
The staff were very friendly and extremly helpful, the free breakfast was very good, with biscuits and nutella etc. It is really close to the center, with in a 3 minute walk to everything. The place could use a touch up but besides that it is pretty clean, compared to all the other Hostels in England. All in All, I would come back and stay here again.
Who like to rip itself off can be, here is the right address.
Dirty and old furniture. One of the worse backpaker I have been. I will not repeat.
By far one of the most enjoyable hostels we stayed in while in the UK. Friendly staff, warm and comfortable environment with great hospitality. They have a linen closet where they keep clean towels and washcloths. No extra fees to get a towel! Communal tea and coffee available from the kitchen all day and ear plugs provided at night. The terrace is a wonderful place to hang out and meet people. Would recommend to a friend.
Everything's okay except the clubs downstairs are kinda annoying in the night, but ear plug could help with it.
Was here recently on the UK trip. Nice place for travelers to stay.
Came with several quidditch teams, and the service and staff were incredible. It was very similar to other hostels in terms of cleanliness and atmosphere. Beyond great experience overall.
I do not know abt the others, but I ve had a good time. Met a few interesting people last couple of days. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. Cheap, nice cozy beds, kitchen, TV room and free Wi-Fi. I couldn't ve asked for more really.

RespondGreatest hostel ive ever stayed in awesome parties awesome breakfast awesome staff awesome everything just perfect for a hostel stay.
We are talking about ~ £ 40 per night, in a room with 16 beds. It is moldy and smells like feet! The people there are very nice and kind. Sorry but, not recommended.

RespondExpensive for a hostel with dorm style beds and shabby community rooms. The staff are a bunch of snobs in love with themselves, most areas close down at 11 forcing you into your room. The rooms are too hot, too expensive and too filled to be worth 25 pounds a night. American club downstairs open til 4am so don't plan on sleeping. People running the show were unfriendly, lazy, incompetent and rude. They lost the keys to the luggage storage upon my checkout and had to break the door down. Great security! Stay in a hotel, you'll be much more comfortable and grateful.

RespondI think it is the best hostel where I have been. The kitchen is really nice, and the staff leaves some things there so everybody can use it. The breakfast is nice, just go to the kitchen and take what you want: toasts, coffee, tea, cereals, etc. The location of the hostel is also great: it is in the city center and very close to the bus and train stations. Finally: The staff is very nice and gentil. I spent a great time here, I surely recommend this hostel to everybody.
