Lovely couple of days at the hotel. Enjoyed afternoon tea on arrival, really well done. Visited spa for pedicures which were a real treat. Lovely room, beautifully decorated to suit the style of the building. Stuart loved the library. Took lots of walks around the grounds, the walled garden is our favourite. Spotted rabbits, hares and a hedgehog on our walks. Got lost in the maze. Cocktails in the bar, followed by lovely dinners. Great service throughout. We will go back again.

Thank you for the most perfect stay to celebrate my 30th birthday. Although covid has made everywhere reevaluate services and there was no spa, I was just delighted to be here. The most magical grounds, friendliest staff, food — just wow. Can’t wait to return for another special occasion.

We’ve just returned from here after booking the “Sunday Night Special” and I have to say every member of staff we came across were lovely. Very attentive, friendly and professional. It made the stay. The spa facilities were great too. We dined in the main restaurant and after giving up meat for lent, although it was tempting to order off the main menu, we were given the choice of a vegan or vegetarian menu. The breakfast was also lovely. Great value for money we’ll definitely be back.

Spa was very relaxing. Had back massage with hot stones was amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is just amazing too. The staff make you feel very welcome. Definitely will have more spa packages.

Came for a fitness weekend with Miss Fit Breaks, beautiful rooms, great food and reasonably priced drinks and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Gorgeous hotel. Would definitely recommend.

We had our wedding here on 5th January. What can I say… it was amazing. Fantastic venue. Very reasonably priced for high quality food and professionalism. Our wedding planner was Jon. He’s an asset to Doxford. Chris and all the other staff on the day were brilliant. Attention to detail is impeccable. Bonus points for having a great spa area aswell although I didn’t have time to use it, I’ve used it before and it’s lovely. The whole day went swimmingly. No hiccups at all. If I could do it all again I’d still choose here!

Gorgeous spa. Unfortunately let down by the breakfast. Sausages were uncooked inside. Brought us some more but just plonked them down on the table on a plate, rather than reserving and these were also uncooked.

Beautiful, relaxing place. Thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the Spa and treatments. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

Lovely day using the spa, had a relaxing massage, chilled in the jacuzzi and a refreshing swim in the pool. The staff were excellent couldn't help enough and were very polite. We had afternoon tea which was beautiful. Definitely a 5 star rating. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Spa Day facilities are poor with not enough seating around the pool, so not much chance of relaxing. The restaurant staff are very polite, but the food is disappointing and there needs to be more attention to detail, and to cleanliness.

Just love this place and the staff are friendly.

Came for a spa day for my mams 60th birthday present, staff were lovely on arrival and very helpful, every member of staff we passed on the way to the spa was friendly and spoke to us, the spa is beautiful and warm and clean. Lovely relaxation room with free tea and coffee, would recommend to family and friends.

Had an amazing spa day with my sister and Mam, there was a two course meal included which was beautiful, the staff were very polite and helpful, I would definitely go back again and I’d highly recommend going here to others :)

Stayed for one night dinner bed and breakfast for a spa break with a good friend. We stayed in the coach house. The room and bed were very comfortable. The evening meal was fabulous. Breakfast was also very good. The staff were very friendly at the hotel and the spa. We had two 25 minute treatments, a facial and a back massage. Both were excellent. The spa staff were also very nice and friendly. We will definitely return. A slight criticism would be the walk from the coach house to the hotel was very dark. Fortunately we had a small torch with us.

Had a beautiful relaxing afternoon here at Doxford Hall Hotel. Steam room, Sauna, Jacuzzi and lovely pool. Lovely afternoon tea too.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. The room, food and grounds are exceptional, with friendly staff and all the facilities required. We will return as the area has so much to offer and I'd love to spend a few rainy hours in the library pretending to read whilst dozing! We had a lovely break and felt the hotel offered excellent value for the executive room with its huge comfortable bed and enormous bathroom. The restaurant served some of the nicest food for dinner I have had for a long time. I need to go on a diet before I return.

We held our daughters wedding here on the 3rd of August and I can't praise the staff and service we had from the team a Doxford Hall enough from the check in on Thursday until we left on Saturday we had the most amazing time. Nothing was to much trouble and anything I or any of the wedding party requested was there In minutes.
It is a beautiful hall and is kept immaculate inside the hall and outside in the grounds we had guests at the wedding who had never stayed at Doxford and didn't know it was there but they were so impressed that they are going to book and go up again.
The food at Doxford is second to none from the breakfast we had to our daughters wedding breakfast and also the night time Buffett was first class. I can't reccomend This beautiful place enough. Thank you to all the team at Doxforx for making my daughters wedding such a magical day for all the family and guest's.

Faultless service from friendly and attentive staff. Excellent facilities, super rooms. Superb food; but do ask for your burger to be well done if needed. Dog friendly, bowl, towel and treats in room on arrival!

A nice hotel and a relaxing day marred by an Unfortunate Incident — arriving for our lunch we spotted two friends already seated in the dining room whom we hadn’t known were also accessing a spa day: we asked the waitress to sit with our friends but were abruptly told that this was not possible as we had to sit where the hotel had planned as they would not set a table elsewhere (ie, beside our friends, where the neighbouring table was actually set). I have never experienced such a poor response/service.

Lovely place to stay, room was clean and well equipped, staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the facilities were all very good. We dined at the restaurant and the food was very impressive. Would definitely visit again!

As a birthday treat for my daughter who was 13 today I booked a spa day for 2 including lunch. The ladies in the spa were fabulous, my daughter felt like a princess and was in awe of the whole place. She loved her meal, especially the gluten free brownie, nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely be back, she said it was her best birthday ever, thank you.

I stayed here back in June 2017 with my boyfriend after attending a wedding at Newton Hall. We quickly checked in and left for the wedding again after being all day guests. We arrived back at the hotel at 23.30 to be made very unwelcome by the nightshift worker who was male very tall and very little hair. After asking for directions to the room since we had only previously only checked in leaving the luggage in the car in the car park he said just get the lift (literally no help at all) after finally finding the room ourselfs it’s wasn’t the nicest of rooms and our bed for the night was two singles pushed together, we may have been more understanding of this if we’d booked on the day and not two months prior. We ordered some not very complicated snacks using room service of two soft drinks, a cheese sandwich and a ham what the man had took the order of tutting at the end saying ‘is that it? ’. I mean how rude of me to disturb this man who’s working the nightshift and for us paying money to the company he works for. Once it arrived instead of anyone in hospitality would say enjoy your food he said ‘it will be charged to your room mind’. My advice to anyone I’d avoid this rude man at any cost. Whoever gave him a job in hospitality wants to be ashamed and finally Newton Hall is fantastic and to try there instead!

Fantastic hotel/spa/restaurant. Charge point for electric cars. Excellent rooms, very helpful and friendly staff, great grounds to walk around in, great facilities in the hotel/spa including gym, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The maze can be a bit boggy but fun to do. Lots of local delights to discover, off the beaten track but surprisingly good. A visit to Craster and its private port is a must.

Breathtaking and spectacular Hotel with beautiful wood carvings above every door and splendid vintage decor. Spa was wonderful and food was first class. I couldn’t keep my eyes of the huge chandeliers in every room, we also found a crazy garden maze outside.

Excellent service and facilities, made our stay there really special. This is our second visit and it brought to a close a three month trip from USA. We started the trip first night at Doxford, and made use of the amazing facilities. The couple's massage was perfect, so second time round we did the same. Beautiful surroundings and really reasonable prices for both the hotel and the spa. We will definitely be going again. Can't wait to see the seeping drive and beautiful architecture again. Make sure you stay at the coach house!

Visited Doxford Hall with my girlfriend for afternoon tea after she received a gift experience for her birthday. We arrived at Doxford Hall and found that the signs did not clearly point out where to head in for the restaurant and leisure activities but were instead prioritised for the Hotel only. We went through a door at the front to what looked like a lounge area to find that we had indeed went through a fire exit and ended up walking through the entire building before reaching some members of staff to assist. When we finally got seated for our booking for afternoon tea we found the atmosphere rather tense, as there was no ambient music playing and felt that every word we said could be heard. A waiter arrived to greet us and admitted that he did not have any idea what he was doing in terms of waiting for afternoon teas, which we found very unprofessional and giving a negative first impression of the venue. He left us multiple times to ask his colleagues for help and finally we were able to make our order. When the afternoon tea arrived, we felt that it was quite bare in terms of quantity of items, for example there was a single plain scone and a single fruit scone to share between us. On a positive note, the sweet selection of the afternoon tea was the most appealing and found the chocolate orange brownie/gateau to be the best! Overall a below average experience and would not be eager to advise others to visit.

Visited for a spa day, it was really relaxing, had a lovely time and the food we had for lunch was gorgeous! Back massage was heavenly and very good value.

Spectacular hotel if you want to feel like the lord and lady of the manor for a few days. Everything is out the place is 'just right' with the decor fresh and clean. The rooms are well proportioned and furnished and the staff are welcoming and attentive.

What a lovely day myself and daughter had at this beautiful building. We had the full use of the spa followed by lunch and relaxation. Staff were lovely and friendly and the chef went out of his way to provide a vegetarian lunch for me. What a lovely relaxing day in beautiful surrounding countryside. We will certainly return to this little gem in Northumberland.

Doxford hall is set in a beautiful rural location in Northumberland surrounded by trees, greenery and wildlife. The hall it's self is a majestic grande building full of character. The food is delicious and the amenities are first class. Highly recommended.

Wonderful large rooms. TV was small for the size of the room. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely cooked breakfast. Not always someone ready to serve at the bar. Overall lovely place to stay.

Very nice room, although the jacuzzi bath was not functioning on arrival. My partner and I enjoyed two 60 minute spa treatments, both of which were wonderful. A wide range of treatments and massages available and the ability to mix and match 30 minute treatments was great. The real highlight has been the food. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals all fantastic and worth every penny. All of the staff we have encountered have been very friendly and professional.

Hotel environment was outstanding, staff friendly and helpful. Very disappointed that dispite a 2 night stay there were no appts for treatments in the spa. Another disappointment was there were no seats in the bar for a bar meal so ended up eating from a coffee table. Everything else was lovely and I would return and recommend to friends.

Everything! Rooms lovely and clean, very spacious… The jacuzzi bath was brilliant! The food was outstanding and the staff were excellent, polite, efficient and very helpful. A beautiful place to get away for a nice relaxing, chilled out getaway.

A beautiful setting but always under staffed. I booked this for a post exam treat for myself and my daughter. Getting through on the phone is the first major hurdle followed by no confirmation. Arrived to find over booked and not enough staff. Our treatment was 40 minutes late, not a problem in itself, but the manager then talked about problems of handover/ staffing during my massage (supposed to be relaxing! ) It was rushed and did not last last 30 minutes. I also had a different treatment to the one I'd booked, despite clarifying twice which one I had opted for. We enjoyed relaxation room and pool facilities, despite not having been given towels and having to find our own. The staff are always friendly and polite but seem harassed (as on other occasions). To top this off we ordered a drink and sandwich from the lounge bar before our return journey. After 45 minutes were still waiting and sought a response. It finally arrived after 55 minutes. I think they'd forgotten! A lovely setting but no sense of direction or customer service which is disappointing considering the pricey tariffs. Have been several times over the last 18 months with mixed experiences. Always under — staffed. Plea to management for better training and improved staff levels if repeat custom and reputation is of any importance Karen Deck.
