A very nice and pleasant pub with delicious food and good drinks.

Awesome atmosphere good time.

Alright pub for sports and cheap food but hotel is not fit for purpose. Nice shower and bed but way too noisy.

Would never go back to this place. Don't know what other rooms are like but room 27 is awful. The ceiling had obviously had a leak at some point stains had been patched. Dust and dirty… even old cigarette ash in window cill entwined with cob webs… shower tray skirting kicked in… had to leave after one night… would have left that night but to late to find other accommodation. Wish there was an additional app for adding photos…

Staff are nice, the rooms are lovely, the windows provide really good quiet from the busy roads. Very close to town, I'd say 5-15 minute walk depending on where you're going in town. Very old fashioned taste, tea and coffee, more than 1 pillow each! Tv, toilet with a shower, desk, mirrors, good value room all in all.

Would not stay here again £77.50 for a single room in bank holiday I thought was a good price, until I saw the room! Tiny room, I had to move the bed to be able to get from one side to the other.
It was so noisy as it’s on the main road. No offer of adding on breakfast even though it’s above a pub and no staff there when checking out.
No one told me to just leave the key in the room when I was leaving so had to ring the pub to find out how to check out.
Very unhappy.

If I would put zero stars I would. Don't take your children. On the 11th of April at 13:50pm Myself and my 2 friends and our children recently visited this restaurant/bar. We had all been swimming at the local baths and decided we wanted to get some lunch with our 7 hungry children (Children of ages 4, 5, 7, 8 & aged 9… plus 2 one year old little boys in prams) So I had a look online and saw that the George and Dragon was just 3 minutes away and was a family pub that does food and has a kids menu. So we all drove there and entered the pub to be met with an extremely RUDE woman at the bar. I smiled at her as we walked in and she looked at us all with a very unwelcoming manor. Myself and my 2 friends who are sisters all just looked at each other in complete shock as we had literally walked into the worst welcome ever. Toni went over to her and she asked if she had a problem with us being there and the woman behind the bar said the kids can't run about you know, Toni said we have just walked in and they have just gone to sit down. Our children are very well behaved children but it felt like she judged us as soon as we walked in (We literally hadn't been there for a minute) she clearly shown that we were absolutely not welcome and started talking to one of the other customers about us. I said I'm not eating here where we are not welcome. We are disgusted by the way we were treated. How dare she treat any of us like that after being there for 60 seconds.

Was not impressed firstly gave us keys to the wrong room and no real apology, room was small and pokey and not much room to put things, bathroom was average, no lid on the toilet and had to open and close shower using abit if string. Couldn’t pay in cash had to be card payment which found odd. Didn’t think much of the customer service either felt like once taken your money they didn’t really care if they saw you again. Would not recommend.

Stayed here for one night on Sunday for my birthday I can't say how disappointed I was right from booking in and unhelpful bar staff. The hallway leading up to our room had dirty cloth's and towels at the foot of the stairwell, the smell of cigarettes engulfed the staircase we had to climb to our room. When we open the door to our room It was not at all what we were expecting and we are very disappointed as photos on the website and on all the booking sites did not reflect the room that we had booked. It was dark and dingy it should've been a single room not double. Ceiling was stained from what looks like water leaks. The panel or should I say piece of Wood along the bottom and in front of the shower cubicle was not attached Leaving a gaping hole to the drain. The ceramic floor tiles were broken which was a serious concern for health and safety. It was such a shame as the building outside is lovely.

Had a lovely meal there sunday 21st aug served by friendly staff stayed over night with full breakfast absolutely well worth the money and will be staying again in the future. 1st class service.
