From the second we walked through the door, we loved this place! Such friendly accommodating staff and such a nice, clean and fresh looking hotel. We got married here on 11th January & the day was absolutely perfect from start to finish. From when we booked the wedding up to the big day itself, our wedding planner Jessica was always available to discuss anything and advise. On the day itself, Emily was exceptional at coordinating the day and the staff waiting on and serving behind the bar were just wonderful and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble! Excellent selection of gins is definitely worth a mention — this was a delight to a fair few of our guests! The day was just unforgettable! The Cristal Suite looked incredible, the food was delicious (which we knew it would be after our menu tasting), the DJ was great fun and played exactly what we had asked for. We stayed in character room no5 on our wedding night, which was simply stunning! A super big and comfy 4 poster bed, HUGE roll top bath in an amazing bathroom and beautiful views over the gardens. We then stayed in character room no4 the following night, which was also gorgeous — again with a great big comfy bed, beautiful decor & the coolest high tech shower we have ever seen! Loved the Espa toiletries & my new hubby was particularly impressed with the coffee machines! We thoroughly enjoyed spending the day after the wedding in the spa, the outdoor hot tubs are fabulous & the snow cave gave us great amusement. We followed the day with a yummy evening meal in the Brasserie where there is a good selection of wines. Breakfast in the lawns was excellent, good quality locally sourced food (my hubby fancies himself as a bit of a cooked breakfast connoisseur)! Thornton Hall is an absolute gem in the middle of the beautiful Wirral countryside. The staff go above and beyond and we would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone thinking of getting married, or to anyone that wants a romantic weekend away or a special spa break.
