An exceptional place to stay. The food is fantastic, all freshly prepared in house and it caters generously for Gluten free diets. The staff are first rate in all departments and the rooms are furnished to a really high quality.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. The two courses for £10 lunch option is great value. I had a big bowl of mussels followed by a huge Greek salad. My wife enjoyed nachos with dips and cod goujons with chunky chips and mushy peas. We'll be back.

Nice place, smart, spacious and comfortable rooms followed by a decent breakfast menu. We were here for a private functions so can't judge the restaurant other than to say our buffet was excellent.

We had a baby reveal at this lovery local chic / modern place. Even met the big owner himself… Sir Andrew he made us feel very welcome also the staff could not do enough. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely restaurant that's nice to go to for a fancy meal. Not overpriced but the menu is quite basic. Nothing overly tantalising but not bad either. It does have beautiful interior though.

Well sized and stylish rooms. Love the Scottish Soap toiletries and the large comfortable bed. Service from the staff is excellent. Excellent gin selection, all properly served and garnished. Breakfast in the morning was generous and very tasty.

Lovely hotel. Fantastic staff. Large room for me and my two kids (10 and 14). Excellent dinner and breakfast. Great and convenient location to stay over when up for an evening match at Anfield. We will definitely stay here again.

I wouldn't go here again, service is awful, git our food order wrong three times, dessert lemon posset, was sloppy and I'm still waiting for our drinks order which never came.

2nd Visit to Eccleston Arms. First experience fantastic within 3 months of opening, 2nd experience 14th Jan 2018 horrendous. Daughters birthday ruined. Incompetent staff more interested in socialising or hiding in the Kitchen than serving the very few customers in. Got drinks order wrong, got food order wrong. 2nd round of drinks, waited 15 minutes only to discover the waitress hadn't given the order in at the bar. Waited a further 10 minutes to change the barrel. 25 minutes without drinks? Waited an hour and 10 minutes for food, which had been warmed up and steaks were ruined. Had to wait again and food went cold while they corrected food order. Bill came, which I never usually check, but because of the lousy service and food I did, only to find I had been charged for 4 drinks that we didn't have. No one asked was the food okay during the meal, no one asked if we were satisfied at the end. They seemed indifferent to any concern that we may have had. There were 2 other tables in at the time one of those were also complaining. Completely dis-satisfied never going there again.

A lovely hotel with fabulous rooms and luxurious beds. The food was amazing and staff very attentive. Thoroughly recommend.

Came for a birthday meal on 26th November. Service was slow. Food was wrong and cold. Extra drinks where brought by various staff when not asked for but would of been charged if we didn't query it. Child's chicken meal was pink inside! But apparently that was how it was ment to be. So youngest child had no food and had to share my cold spagettie bolagnaise. Another meal came with the wrong side and it seemed a hassle for this to be corrected. The best one was my husband found a 'bristle in the middle of his pizza. A lady took it to find out what it was and it was out of the cleaning brush used to clean the oven! No idea what chemicals could of been on it. We went as the website said they served real ale but we where told that had stopped about 2-3 months previous! We asked for a jug of water as soon as we arrived and this took 1.5 hours to arrive after asking around another 5 times to different staff. On our way out 2 female staff members where rolling their eyes, muttering and laughing towards a member of our party. The whole experience spoiled the birthday. We will never be returning here as my husband spent the day after throwing up.

Had a few drinks with a friend. Atmosphere was great. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Love this pub.

Just nipped in to get a drink before going for a meal else where, my wife had a cock tail, a porn star martini and although they are pricey, worth every penny, the place was busy and food smelt amazing, we both agreed that we should have booked here and will do next time, lovely place and a nice atmosphere.

Lovely decor, great beer garden, friendly staff. We had a sandwich lunch which was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Really nice little find in St Helens. Not an identikit chain you'd find anywhere. Friendly people, well-designed rooms, good, freshly cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again if overnighting in the area.

Party of 9 for a meal on a Saturday evening. Arrived at the Eccleston Arms at 7pm with a table booked for 7:15pm. Asked to have a drink and wait to be seated, not a problem. Once we were seated, and everyone had ordered we then waited around 45 minutes for the starters. No too impressed when they bring out a dish here and a dish there. Anyway, food was ok not a lot to rave about. Everyone finished the starters and plates were taken, It is now 8:30pm. Main courses arrive at 9:10pm a 40 minute wait. Out of 4 different steaks that were ordered 1 was sent back due to it being cold, the other 3 were like warm. The 'plain and simple' burger was only just warm and the bun burnt. The sizzling steak and fajitas weren't sizzling, but were at least hot on the plate. 2 people had the Rib eye steak, it was cooked how we'd asked (medium — rare) but again not warm. We both agreed we have had better steaks from Weather Spoons. Which isn't a high end restaurant. All finished the meals and let the staff know of our thoughts. Didn't bother with deserts, who knows how long they would of taken. It gives the impression it's trying to be in the same league as a Miller and Carter, but it isn't. Probably a nice place to go when it's a but quite and there's only 2 of you. Overall Wouldn't go again.

Excellent food in gorgeous surroundings. Great service, pleasant staff. This is a must for locals and visitors. Just had a fab meal. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

We were visiting family in nearby Liverpool, and fancied staying somewhere nearby, and managed to find this lovely pub has clearly had a bit of money spent on it. We were very impressed with the decor in our room — and particularly on the landing. Although we'd only booked one night, we picked my partner's Mum up and brought her back here for dinner later that day. Super friendly staff, excellent food.

Room was clean and modern, on the small side, but that's not intended as a criticism. Rooms are secure and access restricted from regular restaurant guests. Food was very good, well presented and very reasonable. Staff were also very friendly and approachable. Will stay again.

Have passed her several times and thought it looked nice, so decided to give it ago yesterday with my Mum and Daughter. We entered the building we then got asked if we had already booked a table, we hadn't so the guy said we could have a table but we had to leave it by 7pm! We arrived at 4.30pm. We ordered drinks and meals, we had to wait awhile (service very slow). Meals where nice, but wouldn't describe the salad as salad. Lamb/Chicken Kebab consisted of several pieces of skewered Lamb/Chicken with couple of slices roasted pepper and onion and a salad of 1 small piece of rocket, slither of cucumber and half of a cherry tomato. The Chicken Supreme Burger was edible but the slice of tomato was thicker than the actual burger, meals came with additional chips in a small wire bucket. Although the Food was edible and hot, it didnt reflect the prices charged. Whilst we had our meal, several guests where turned away as they hadn't booked, although there where three tables with four place settings empty the whole time. Won't be returning here in future, nice place but need to improve on Service, Quantity and Quality for prices charged.

Food was really good but not so impressed with the service. Two hours for starters and main course, we waited along time for drinks order to be taken and then another long wait for someone to take the food order. When the main meals arrived 5 out of our party of 7 got them straight away, 2 of us were sat waiting for several minutes the 6th dish came out but no sign of the 7th after another delay a waitress came and apologised to say it had been missed of the order in the kitchen and would be about 10 minutes if that was ok, a few minutes later a second member of staff came and gave the same information and offered me some olives whilst I waited! I then ate my meal after most members of our party had finished. We had lost the will to even look at the dessert menu or order a coffee. We did receive a 50% discount on the late meal. This was on a quiet Monday evening, wouldn't have much confidence in returning or recommending for a Friday or Saturday.

Stayed here on a friday leaving Saturday and it was perfect, our room was fantastic, huge comfy bed and a wonderful shower I didn't want to get out from under!. Had an evening meal which was both filling and very reasonably priced. Breakfast the next morning was a huge choice of breakfasts from cereal to full English to salmon, all wonderful and again very reasonable in price. I cannot fault this place I just wish it was closer to us so we could use the restaurant again!. Well done to owners and staff for a lovely stay. I would say though if you plan on staying or eating book in advance as it fills up quick!

Really classy inside and lovely food — might have been a bad day but don't go for lunch if you're in a hurry and for all the staff serving nobody spotted we had no drinks or took empty glasses from the table — will try again though.
