Fantastic main building but behind this facade things are less impressive. We stayed for 2 nights in one of the Courtyard rooms which was fairly small but clean and tidy. Had twin beds which we had not requested, no other rooms available due to a very large conference which took over large parts of the main building. This hotel could be so much better but needs a large injection of cash to achieve this. Breakfast was good although the coffee was awful! Didn't eat there in the evening so cannot comment on the food in the restaurant.

A beautiful venue, stunning views but terrible management of this hotel! I stayed at this venue last week… the staff were very friendly professional but absolutely ran off their feet… no manager ever on site. They had a film crew on site which we had no notification of before and then despite one of our friends being on crutches we couldn't use the car park and had to park far away. Then we weren't allowed in to the hall due to the filming for a full day… no management on site until the next day. When I raised this with a manager on reception the next day no apology. We experienced very bad nights sleep due to doors banging very loudly all the time (we were in the stables area). Breakfast can only be described as the worst hotel breakfast I've experienced, not due to the quality of the food but it simply wasn't there… it ran out of everything… all the time… all the guest were complaining. Our room was nice, it looked like it was recently decorated. I wouldn't reccomend staying here… worth a walk around the grounds for the day though.

Didn't actually stay as we never got that far… We received a weekend get away gift in which this hotel was included. As a last minute plan we decided that this would be a lovely stay and contacted the hotel… I spoke to a lovely chap that was more than polite and professional however he needed to pass this onto reservations that at the time were absent but said we would receive a call back straight away. And we are still waiting! Is this because it's a gift weekend? We have now snuggled down for the night in the trusted and welcoming Marriott still with our gift weekend ready to use… feeling slightly judged!

Well I cannot thank the amazing staff at stoke rochford enough! You were all absolutely amazing and made my daughter and son-in-laws wedding day perfect! All staff were very professional, friendly and so helpful! The rooms we stayed in were beautiful, very clean and the bed was so comfy! The venue itself was amazing and such an incredible place to hold a wedding! I cannot emphasise enough on the quality of the food and served with such dignity! So thank you everyone for making our stay and wedding perfect in every way!

Dire need of refurbishment. Grand hall, original features are impressive. Grounds offer some amusement. Modern decor elsewhere is tired and dated. Not quite worth its hefty rates and premier status. Could be a wonderful place.

Our Visit here was a gift from my daughter. Stunning view from the drive. Grounds lovely… stunning house. Was little disappointed. When given room in stable areas. Very small rooms. Lots noises. Through people banging doors. Closer on doors would be good idea. Or signs asked not to bang doors… visited the pool. Which is in desperate need of updating. Had bad experience in the ladies sauna was in on my own and when tried to get out couldn't. Looked for panic button. It's on outside!. After many attempts to open and getting in bit. Of panic… finally. Got it opened. Wen leaving the complex. Told guy about it his reply… yes we been told before!. Come on. Should be dealt with straight away that!. Wasn't impressed at breakfast as no tongs for bread to use at toaster area. Did request. But none arrived. And all bread. An pasteries. Cereals. Are left uncovered through out. Service.

Beautiful old house with a lovely feel to it. Staff were friendly and good facilties but! We had a newly decorated room in the stable complex. The room was great but seemed to have been put back together in a hurry. The heating didn't work properly, the curtains on one window wouldn't draw and the toilet cistern was mounted on what looked like three bits of firewood. Ideally located for touring and once the rooms are sorted a good place to go.

Beautiful place to visit and an ideal setting for a wedding. The weather can make all the difference as you can then explore the breath taking gardens. Don't expect cut prices but do expect to get what you pay for. Highly recommended for a romantic weekend away.

Very smart surroundings. We stopped off for coffee which was delightful and served in the very traditional hotel bar lounge. I would say though that then could make more of it, didn't seem to be any snacks or cake on offer. Toilets were smart and downstairs, disabled accessible ones on ground floor but didn't visit them access to hotel btw via stairs at front but do have a chair lift at side.

Me and my husband asked for a double bed and received room with twins… We changed 3 rooms! And in the 3 rd room shower cabin was broken… So we mooved in the 4rd one. All good till now. Next day we wanted to go to sauna and swimming pool, guess what! Surprise! Swimming pool is closed and they can't find the key from sauna! We had a perfect 3 day holiday there… We will never go back!

We were originally supposed to be staying in the old stable courtyard rooms, which although small were reasonably priced and nicely decorated. Due to a noisy neighbour we decided to upgrade to one of the mansion rooms. These are astounding, spacious and very well presented. The staff have all been very well mannered and incredibly helpful. The breakfast was a fairly standard buffet but was very appetising, with a lot of different things to choose from. The swimming pool has been out of order but this hasn't affected us negatively at all. Overall our stay has been incredibly nice, its a lovely area and we would definitely stay again.

As everyone says, the venue is stunning as is the interior for the most part. Staying overnight in the main building the room was spacious, comfortable and modern. The experience could quite easily go from good to amazing, I think a little rough round the edges at the moment. In the room there were some spilt crisps under the bedside table and a pen in between the sofa cushions. Maybe this was a one off or it could be that no one is spot checking the cleaners work and they have become complacent? The bar / waiting staff were pleasant but it was very functional rather than adding to the experience, it was a bit like service you get at a busy pub. When you're paying a premium for drinks or food part of that premium is the staff having a good knowledge of what's on offer, something which the staff didn't seem to have. I enjoyed it all the same but think a few small changes would go a long way to making for a much improved experience.

The manor house is impressive! It looks equally good by day and when it's lit up at night. The long driveway is heavily pot-holed so approach with caution. The staff are all professional, pleasant and courteous. The Old Courtyard room that I stayed in was very small and it wasn't possible to get an acceptable water temperature from the shower. The receptionist was going to report this to the maintenance team. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and I do feel that I got value for money for my stay. The gardens and grounds were well-maintained and were nice to walk around.

Stayed for 2 nights in one of the mansion rooms. We were extremely impressed by the whole stay. Would definitely book again. Would give 5 stars but we did not use the restaurant in the evenings for dinner so cannot rate that. Breakfast was very good however too.

Thank you Stoke Rochford for ruining my family Xmas. Nine of us spent over £600 For a Christmas day dinner. If I went through everything that was wrong my review would probably take me the rest of the day to complete. I am appalled at the poor standard of food and service. Anybody fancy a Hendricks Gin and Fever tree tonic in a half pint water glass with no fruit, cucumber or ice! If you do then you know where to go. Luckily we knew the owner and after a quick e mail we were given our money back. Pity you can't take memories back. Should have gone to Iceland. Poor.

Absolutely staggering — the grade 1 listed hotel is beautiful, steeped in history (architecture, the Lancaster crash, the 2005 fire etc). The staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was spot on. Our room was quite basic, but that's because we went using a bargain 2-night voucher stay with an online company. It's certainly made us want to go back and choose a room upgrade. Love it.

Was a lovely venue, the whole family enjoyed the Christmas fair. The venue itself is lovely with some amazing views. We went through most of the venue and all the rooms were great. I would definitely go again for another event.

Beautiful hotel, staff are very friendly/helpful but unfortunately during our stay there just didn't seem to be enough of them. Wait at the bar to be served/to receive bar food was often prolonged & food was not always piping hot on arrival. When brought to staffs attention this improved on our second night with piping hot food being served within 15 min of ordering.

Pleasant hotel made much better by the friendly helpful staff. This hotel looks amazing from the outside but is very dated and not quite so fancy on the inside. However the staff could not have been more helpful and really made the stay far more special. Initially we we're in room that really wasn't of a standard fitting the price in my opinion but they were more than happy too move us when asked. All in all a pleasant stay but I would say the place could do with a bit of money being spent to make the inside as love as the outside.

This is a venue we've used on an annual basis for years. It meets our needs well — lovely location, friendly and well equipped. The Wi-Fi is not suited to heavy loads, nor is there much mobile signal. The food was minimal at evening meals this time and there were some coordination issues which to be fair were dealt with promptly and professionally.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Check your sat navigation, mine took me next door, horribly lost. Access is a nightmare if you have to turn right on the A1 traffic at 70mph + and somehow you have to cross sometimes both carriageways. Take your life in your hands any time of day. Not well signposted. BUT once our find it, wow. Downton Abbey is small in comparison. The great Hall is massive. The rooms aren't grand though of good proportion. The stable block rooms smaller but still good size. Best to be in the main building. All rather tied but would cost 50 million to perk it up it is huge. Good food in the bar. I wo be back.

Great place. Surrounding area was beautiful. Very nice to go for a walk and stunning to look at. Room was very clean and tidy.

Unfortunately my booking for afternoon tea was cancelled by the hotel with 48 hours notice, we were due to go tomorrow — message left on my phone. Apparently they had double booked. I requested a call back from the Manager Peter Rogers, this has not happened. Very poor customer service, 4 very disappointed ladies. Not impressed! Does not deserve a star but unable to post otherwise… it was my birthday treat to add insult to injury. Very poor service Peter Rogers. Very embarrasing for member of staff who phoned me.

This is a very nice place. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, the food was very good, and the grounds were well kept. BUT the rooms in the courtyard were not up to the standard of the rooms in the main mansion / main building. The owners or owning group need to take good hard look at the rooms in the courtyard and spend some ££’s to get all the rooms up to standard. Also, the driveway up to the main building is FULL of potholes. In the nicest way possible, if the rooms were taken care and the driveway repaired, this place would EASILY be 5 stars in my opinion.

Charming period stately hotel in need of a bit of TLC here and there but comfortable and impressive features like the fireplace and staircase.

Beautiful setting but so disappointed with the food and service. My family have been coming here for many years but have recently found the whole lunch service go down hill. The menu is short and special diets not catered for even though they said they did and we phoned in advance to ask. The service was extremely slow and we had a different waiter/waitress at every stage of our lunch. We were there for 4 hours waiting for the lunch to be fully served. Telephoned twice afterwards to complain but manager was totally unhelpful. It seems they don't care if anyone books again!

Stoke Rochford Hall is an amazing country house with lovely gardens that you are free to roam around in, to your hearts content. The house it's self is quite stunning to look at and the house still retains some wonderful period features. I personally liked the ambience of the lounge bar. I enjoyed my two night stay, it was very relaxing and they allowed pets which is a bonus. However if you prefer your modern hotels and guest rooms, then I think you could be a little disappointed.

Amazing building externally, but our room was in much need of updating, we left without staying as fortunately we only lived an hour away. I expect a lot more for the price. A premier in, for a third of the price would have been a welcome upgrade.

Helpful staff very welcoming wouldn't recommend the cheaper rooms we had a junior suite at the top and it was amazing. Lovely breakfast great selection.

Enjoyed afternoon tea at Stoke Rochford Hall on Saturday. Very reasonably priced, nice selection of finger sandwiches and cakes, followed by warm scones. There was a nice selection of teas and coffees and prosecco which went down nicely. Before we knew it we'd been there 3 hours. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful setting for a less than Harvester quality meal. Having been here several times in the past, the quality has drastically reduced. Limited menu with poor quality food and not all in house made! Website advertising large varied menu that's no longer the case. All courses are now smaller portions, mains are 2 slices of over cooked roast meat that's not exactly tender served with over cooked veg. Yorkshire pud was very good though. Desserts are definitely bought in, brake bros or cash and carry standard so disappointing compared to what this place was. Staff are no longer as attentive or professional, yet the prices remain premium. We asked for horseradish but it never came and we had to chase the coffee which is now without mints. Certainly won't be rushing back.

What a stunning place. Stayed over and saw my friend get married. Staff were excellent, courtyard room was very small but to a high standard all the same :)

Not impressed. Answering system is rubbish, waiting time gets longer instead of shorter. No body answers the phone and when you do finally get through there's NEVER any rooms available. Waste of time!

Beautiful building. Very comfortable and clean. Food good. Strongly recommend the history tour. Leisure centre is in grounds (which are lovely) but quite a way away from the hotel. Recommended you ask for Mansion room (in main house rather than stable block)

Do Not Go Here! When you check out the reviews, it is quite mixed, some say great, some say terrible. The reason for this is that you may or may not be in the hotel that you see in the pictures. I have attached a picture of where we were put, keep in mind we had no idea we would not be in the hotel in the picture. A total disaster. It is true that the main hotel is run down, the spa facilities are very old and not nice to use and the cleanliness is poor, but it is 1000 times worse if you are placed in a falling apart building as we were along with many other couples. I did complain and they said I could cancel my booking and go to a different hotel. How very helpful. I never leave feedback but this was such a con, I don't want these people tricking anyone else and spoiling someone’s vacation time.

Lovely building absolutely stunning. The leisure facilities were pretty good and not fair from our room that had a great big bed and good shower and bath. Wish the corridor hadn't have been so noisy, as every time someone walked by our room it sounded as though they were bursting through the door. Lovely food and lovely atmosphere. Would come again.

Beautiful old building and I appreciate they are refurbishing the rooms but the website is very misleading to the standard of most of the rooms they assign to guests. The whole leisure was outdated and felt like a boarding school very old and tired. Food in the Terrace bar was overcooked in places and raw in others. I was moved to a refurbished room and this was a huge improvement. Breakfast was good and lunch was good but limited choice on the buffet.

Lovely venue, staff are so helpful, nothing is too much problem for them. Rooms are fabulous and have everything that you need for a weekend stay. Highly recommend a visit!

Fantastic hotel! Stayed in the mansion room for a night, the room was lovely, big room, great views, very clean. We had a walk around the grounds which are beautiful. We used the swimming pool and hot tub, both very nice and clean. We had the dinner included which was a three course meal, the food was very good, we enjoyed all of it. We also had the breakfast which was very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A really beautiful place to stay, we loved it!

Horrible place … nothing to do … gym and spa stuck in 1970. Room like a prison cell/old stables … just waste of money and time. Never been so bored like this before.

Just attended one of your party nights with live band and stayed overnight. Had a fabulous time, great value for money and the best christmas party dinner in ages. Well done to all the staff.

Beautiful grand hotel rooms adequate shame they could be outstanding with a few tweeks. Good service and friendly staff ask for mansion room or you won't be impressed with bedrooms.

We stayed for a romantic couple of days; when you turn down the drive and actually see the house it is so impressive and we were shocked that it only rated as a 3 star. The hall itself is breath taking, the staff are so kind and helpful and the food in the restaurant was melt in your mouth delicious. We would have loved to have actually stayed in the house but we assumed these were family rooms rather than doubles and were placed in the stables next to the house, the room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom ample in size. The hall was totally accessible by wheelchair users and nothing was too much trouble, even the leisure suite gym and pool was a lovely bonus; although it is a short walk from the hall it is nice to take in the views and the air. We enjoyed our time in the leisure suites and although reviews have stated they were a little outdated or the building was old the equipment is exceptionally up to date and it was kept clean. For a 3 star it was an amazing break and we hope to return again one day soon and tell all our friends to go there. Beautiful place, food and people.

6 months ago was fantastic, now, I'd choose a travelodge (or similar) every time. Room was half decorated, unserviced both days, paper-thin walls, unapologetic reception.

Our weekend / wedding at Stoke Rochford Hall was a story of two halves. We asked for early check in (1pm) on the Friday and upon our arrival were told our room was not ready. After a couple of hours my now wife was put into another room until hers was ready. She did inform reception that we would not be back until after 8 as we were going out for a meal. We then got a phone call at about 6.30 telling us we need to move our stuff out of this room. At the same time all the wedding guest were trying to check in with just one clueless person on reception! One relative got checked into a room that hadn't been touched since the last occupants. I wouldn't be lying if I said at this point we were a bit worried about our wedding reception the following day. We needn't be though. The day was fantastic. The man in charge Mick (toast master) did an excellent job and deserves a special thank you. The food for the wedding breakfast was to die for, the silver service was excellent and the bar wasn't too pricey. The architecture and garden made for fantastic scenery for the photo as well. The wedding and function side of things deserves 5 stars but was let down by the hotel and reception side.

We had an amazing wedding (afternoon tea and evening function) at Stoke Rochford Hall! The staff couldn't do enough to make sure that our wedding was special! Stuart made sure everything ran smoothly and was fantastic! Thank you very much.

We got ourselves a fantastic deal at Stoke Rochford Hall through KGB deals. Everything about this place is class. The Grounds are beautiful. People are so friendly, We had the misfortune, after our first day when the shower would not turn off but to the credit of the hotel staff they sent round their engineer to have a look right away. The shower could not be fixed there and then so they upgraded us to the mansion suite at no extra cost as an appology for the inconvenience caused. You really cant say fairer than that. The mansion suite was superb. I cannot speak highly enough of this place and would recommend to anyone that is looking for somewhere that bit special. Go on. Treat yourself.

We just had an excellent stay here. We liked the outstanding, friendly service, huge log fire in the lounge, the well-stocked library, the grounds and the hearty breakfast. Very good value: £50 for two of us in a double room in the Coach House, B&B.

Good service. Restaurant has a really poor atmosphere for a formal dinner.
