Went to the George for the first time yesterday. The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing, very generous sizes and yummy. Will definitely be going back.

What a great find. Lovely superior double bedroom and fabulous meal. Staff were attentive friendly and very welcoming. Would recommend if you are within an hour’s drive! Cannot wait to return.

Atmosphere created by the owners and all staff is amazing make us feel very welcome, food delicious, very good life music. Can't wait to come again!

Great 3 course Sunday lunch with family,, food was amazing, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere, highly recommend.

Really lovely meal tonight, beef Wellington for me and fish and chips for Hubby. Took advantage of the early dining offer too, so 20% off! We consider ourselves really lucky to have this superb place on our doorstep nearly. The refurbishment is really great too! Well done all concerned.

Away for a girlie lodge weekend and this was recommended so myself and 3 lovely friends come for Sunday lunch, Amazing food, great staff would defently recommend and not for getting the fab flavour gins.

Went today for sunday lunch with the family, we are normally very hard to please but the food was absolutely outstanding and staff were lovely we will 100% be back.

Absolutely a little gem of a restaurant/ pub staff absolutely wonderful food bloody excellent I would recommend this place to anyone cant wait to revisit.

Me and husband always go to the George for the food the staff are always friendly and welcoming! I will always recommend the George to anybody who wants somewhere different to go Try the gins especially the strawberry and cucumber one 😍

First visit to The George, we went as we are staying there in a couple of weeks for a wedding. We definitely plan on using the restaurant as a favourite for a meal out because of the xcellent service, amazing food and really pleasant atmosphere, it was also spotlessly clean. Really looking forward to spending a couple of nights there next week.

Booked for a meal at the George on Saturday for a friends graduation meal. Food was faultless, staff were super friendly and chatty, great décor. Will be going back again and will highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely meal or just drinks xx.

Anyone who is after an amazing stay and outstanding food I would certainly recommend The George I stayed there on the 7th of May with my girlfriend and the service is exceptional the rooms are outstanding and the staff are so polite and friendly glen the landlord and his partner are very polite and welcome you to there hotel 👌

We have just been for the early bird offer for or tea, 2 adults and 2 kids. I had the sea bass, so fresh and tasty, the husband had sweet chilli chicken as a main. It’s his absolute fave! Delicious food and great service as always! Thank you 😊

I visited tonight with my family to take advantage of the 20% off and we were all extremely pleased with our meals. The range of dishes on the menu is fantastic and the food itself was delicious. The service we received was friendly and very welcoming, we couldn’t of been more impressed and will definitely be returning.

Omg amazing food, why have I not been before! the chilli chicken starter was so lush and huge, they definitely could lessen the portion 🤣 save their profits. The fish n chips were beautiful and the best dessert ever was the Eton mess. Absolutely delicious and service with a smile. Definitely much more than pub grub 👌

Someone in the kitchen really knows their stuff. The food is excellent. Presentation and taste is amazing. The staff are really good also — very much on the ball and very professional. I'd suggest if you're thinking of calling in to eat, go early like we did — it got very busy very quickly and given the quality of the food this was not surprising. Thank you so much x.

Just home from a perfect weekend away at the George. What can I say? This was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed at, the food was exceptional, the staff friendly, helpful and accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. We definitely won't bother to look for anywhere else when staying in the area, The George will be our only choice ☺️ Thanks for a great weekend.

Was nice. 1st time here as heard great reviews. Monday the menu was reduced. Really should have been told this and not find out when was there. But all in all food was great service was great. Would we be going back. Sure.

Went to the George last might for a meal and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The bar staff were extremely friendly, relaxed, but efficient. The food was all delicious, and well presented. The Steak and Ale pie was to die for. The steak and pepper sauce was cooked well and as requested. All the desserts were lovely and good portion sizes. We will certainly be back.

We attended the George last night as the parents of our sons football club had a get together to celebrate their season and to celebrate Christmas. The food was brilliant, very well presented and tasted delicious. Although the George was busy, the service was great. There was live music, which again was brilliant, and all in all we had an amazing evening. So thank you to Glenn and all the team.

Lovely family atmosphere. 5 star food and service! We love it here. Cosy next to the fire, with a beautiful brunch. Some of us had English breakfasts, high quality ingredients, and the kids had the beautiful pancakes.

It has a great vegetarian menu. The best tofu I’ve had when eating out, absolutely delicious.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here this evening. Although we were outside, the heaters were very warm so we didn't need to keep our coats on, plus they offer blankets if you do feel chilly. The food and service were excellent — we'll be back! — with Michelle Bulless.

Ordered a takeaway last night and as usual The George didn't disappoint. The service from staff when ordering through facebook and collecting was brilliant, and the food even better! Great quality, well cooked food that stayed piping hot and was beautifully presented even in the takeaway dishes — good portions too! Thank you Glen and team for making your takeaway the highlight of our week!

Had the turkey Sunday roast to take away, big portions and the best quality roast I’ve had in a long time. Absolutely delicious, full of flavour, cannot compliment you enough. Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful takeaway 2 course meal for my birthday from here. Food is always good when we eat in anyway and we weren't disappointed with the takeaway option. Food was freshly cooked and piping hot. Tasted amazing. It has the added benefit of ordering before they open so you can plan ahead. We had it delivered but you can also collect. It's so important to support our local businesses in the current times. We definitely recommend and will be using this takeaway service again. Thank you.

Had a takeaway tonight & treated our daughter as well — staff so accommodating to deliver to 2 addresses! The delivery lady took our daughters & went back to pick ours up so it wasn’t in the car too long!
Food was fantastic — don’t think it would have been any better if we’d actually been in the pub. Had a few takeaways last lockdown but this was the first this lockdown! Portions were so generous too — can’t wait to order again.

Just had a lockdown take out sunday lunch. It was absolutley beautiful, lots of flavour, nice and hot and the veg was cooked perfectly — hate soggy veg and this had a lovely slight crunch still! Great to see you doing well in these difficult times!

I have had 2 meals at the George since the new chef was appointed and on both occasions the food has been outstanding!
I would highly recommend going for a meal, you will not be disappointed.

Visited The George for Brunch this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was fantastic! All safety precautions had been taken in line with the COVID guidance too. Highly recommend and can’t wait to be back again soon.

Had a family meal here to celebrate my partners birthday and all staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and fairly priced and would definitely recommend to others :-)
