Got married there last week and the service was exceptional. Matt who looked after us on the day was brilliant and made sure thing ran smoothly. All of the staff were helpful and warm and made our stay very enjoyable.

Four of us had a really good Sunday lunch here. Really good food and excellent friendly service. Very nice place!

A lovely location and a very pleasant stay due to the surroundings however ive stayed here twice now and rooms are not very clean. Cobwebs on windows and dirty blinds. Staff are lovely.

This was an overnight stay before travelling on. The hotel was set in woodlands and was excellent. Our room was perfect, breakfast filling and the staff on reception were very efficient, friendly and helpful. A great hotel with lovely views to the front. Certainly would recommend it for staying in the area.

Spent the best part of 48 hours at a great location that hosted a family wedding. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were efficient, patient yet unobtrusive and everything went off without a hitch. Thanks Matt, Jamie and the team.

Two for one lunch Mon to Thurs is excellent value for money. Brilliant food and a wide choice. Well worth a visit bet you go back.

This place could be 5 star. Easily. It's a brilliant venue, largely in good condition, and the food is good. But the staff need more training and a system of work is needed. Too many serving staff duplicating work and / or not delivering what you asked for. And it needs a good tidy up outside. 1st impressions!

Visited for a wedding and thought the hotel and the event were fantastic. The decorations, staff and surroundings were beautiful and the fact that it's set in such lovely grounds really add to the experience. All staff were friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable though the bar is quite pricey.

Stayed here for a wedding a month ago. It's a lovely place in a lovely setting for such an occasion. Our room was ok (room 20) but doesn't have a view and it could have done with a lick of paint. Bed was really comfy. Bathroom sink wasn't particularly good at draining. Overall room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was good, with great choice and variety. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The staff here are absolutely wonderful and very accommodating! A big shout out to Kerris and Paris. Cosy and quaint hotel, tasty food with some lovely walks in the area. I stayed here for two days over Christmas with my parents. We stayed in bug rooms in The Lodge (26 & 30) which is 100m from the main building. In icy conditions the downward hill toward The Lodge is v. Risky however there is car parking directly opposite. All in all a very memorable stay. Thanks for making our Christmas special! Xmas meal at Higher Trapp Hotel was very enjoyable and excellent value for money. I together with friends have eaten at Fitzys on many previous occasions and recommended the restaurant to friends. Keep up the standard and I will return to eat there in the future. Mildred Pearson.

We've just spent the weekend at The Higher Trapped Hotel for our daughters wedding. I cannot praise them highly enough. The grounds are beautiful. The suite for the wedding and after party was of a very high standard, as good as I've seen anywhere. The food, service and staff were all excellent, with a special mention for Danny who oversaw the whole wedding and reception staff who were welcoming and friendly. Nice quiet area with stunning views. The hotel is very olde world regularly holds events like weddings or dinners. The food we've always enjoyed as for the rooms they vary in size. All in all a nice place to.

Very disappointed with the rooms 28 & 29, in what they term The Lodge, pouring with rain when we arrived, dark and a walk from the Lodge car park to our rooms, with no offer of help. Slippery walk in poor lighting to the door of the lodge. The cost of the room £79 single although in a double room and £89 in the double. The rooms are small, for example we needed to close the waredrobe door in order to get into the very old fashioned bathroom, The bed was uncomfortable with a mattress that had seen better days, on a base that poor quality. Quite where they establish the costs for rooms is beyond us and these where special rates as we where attending a wedding on Saturday 4th November. The one saving grace was that the Lodge is quiet, which is great news if any sort of party is going on in the main hotel Staff where superb, in reception, restaurant and the function room and they are to be complemented.

Booked ny daughters wedding there absolutely amazing staff very attentive and catered to all our needs and my daughter received complimentary flowers a few days later to congratulate the happy couple would highly recommend the higher trapp to everyone x.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. Although the food has got more expensive in the evenings this is a excellent place to stay. There is a annex which is of high quality but there is no cover for wind or rain when returning back to the main hotel.

Visited for a wedding. Rooms clean, good size and staff friendly. Breakfast had good options and filled me up. We stayed two nights and the quality of the service wasn't as good at breakfast on the last morning potentially due to them being much busier.

I love this Hotel! However, I hate the do-it-yourself toast maker. Thankfully, the Tea/Coffee urn has gone! Love the staff, see my review on Trip Advisor for more! 01/10/17 Since the above posting, I have had the pleasure of staying here again. And what a fabulous stay it was! They have a new chef and the food is worthy of any Gordon Ramsey restaurant. Even though they were catering for sit-down meals at the weddings, the meals were still of the highest standard. The duck is the best I have eaten in years! I have to take my hat off to the ALL the staff. I was going to name them, but have misplaced my list! They had weddings back to back, plus a full restaurant, however, they showed no sign of stress, just got on with the job with a smile and were truly professional. How they coped, is beyond me, the standards didn't drop one iota, though they were rushed off their feet. I could go on raving, but I am sure you all get the idea! Fabulous, fabulous place to stay. Still hate the do it yourself toaster though!

Attended a wedding. Great venue well decorated with good service.

Service not very good. Food delivered in an abrupt manner. We would have liked a dessert and maybe another drink but wasnt offered any. Staff vanished. Had to go and find a member of staff to get the bill. Overall not a good expereince.

Lovely gardens, nice clean rooms, good choice at breakfast and good service. Function rooms are adequate for medium sized wedding. A thouroughly enjoyable wedding and reception and a good time had by all.

How lovely is this hotel. Food excellent and all the staff we have come across so far cannot to enough for us. Happy to be spending a few nights here.

Had Son's wedding here on 11.6.16. Excellent service, brilliant day with friendly helpful staff. Beautiful setting. Our room was fine, clean and tidy. The girl on reception was brilliant, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was 100% spot on as was the wedding meal.

Got there quite late and they had stopped serving food. They did however knock a sandwich and salad up for me. Great service thank you.

As we have been here a few times already I already knew Ithat was going to be a good night. Customer service from the bar staff and other staff was brilliant, the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Overall wonderful night.

Lovely venue for a summer wedding, large room but odd shape.

Stayed here for works Christmas do… meal and casino night with disco. Atmosphere generally good, there were far too few casino games for the number of people there, meaning you were queued up waiting to play for the majority of the 2 hours the games were on for. Room was steady enough, nothing overly special. All in all, an average stay… will not be rushing back, but no cause to stay away.

I didn't stay in any of the rooms but the food and service are excellent.

We had an excellent large room with views at a budget price on a monday. Breakfast was top class. Evening meal was poor, can only be described as average pub grub. Service was quickly responsive to problems.

My wife and I got married recently at the hotel. The staff were fantastic, the food was excellent, the rooms were great and the venue itself stunning. We really couldnt have asked for a better day. The wedding planner did his best to accomodate everything we wanted and his assisstance made the day run smoothly. The florist who attended complimented the staff on being the most helpful she had worked with. The staff were also helpful when it came to sorting out rooms and travel arrangements for family. The day and evening meals were very tasty and served up promptly, to everyones delight. The resident dj was also great. The bridal suite was clean, had everything we needed, a lovely view and a complimentray bottle of champagne which was nice. From also visiting for informal meals out I would wholeheartedly reccommend anyone to visit the Higher Trapp whether it be for a special occassion or just lunch! Thank you to all the staff.
