Absolute shambles! Ruined our day. Booked afternoon tea for a small quiet birthday for my husband. Got told no booking for us was made because reception failed to pass it to restaurant. If your staff are that much incapable, get some computers since we are in 2022. Also he told us to sit; and then told me sorry we cant make afternoon tea on the spot?! Why are we sitting then?

Visited the hotel with my girlfiend, had one of the employees named adam Simpson offering me cocain, very unprofessional if you ask me. Will NOT be coming again. Disgusted!

Me and my mrs have been here twice and will be coming back for a 3rd time it’s our best hotel. Staff go out there way for you in every way. Food is fantastic and the spa don't think you can get a better cleaner one See you soon Stanley house❤️ PS Forgot to mention the grounds perfect just perfect 😁

Really disappointed drove from Leicester the restaurant totally lacks quality of service food and courtesy My steak was not well done But the restaurant manager and staff demanded justification which was beyond my belief if something is not cooked it’s just not cooked They will not acknowledge any faults in there own service and accuse you of being wrong when you raise a complaint Highly recommend do not use this restaurant Money well wasted There are plenty of fine dining restaurants in this locality.

We booked Stanley house for our wedding back in 2018 and we instantly loved the whole feel of the venue and we knew from that moment on it was a special place and would hold a lot of memories for us. I honestly couldn’t speak any more highly of Stanley house as a wedding venue, but more importantly the staff, they are a special kind of people and go above and beyond to help you out and make your experience there that little bit more special. We were supposed to get married in May 2020, but lockdown had other ideas and so we eventually got our day on the 16th April 2022, and it was well and truly worth the wait. Natalie, well Natalie our wedding coordinator has become my new best friend, and is the nicest person you’ll ever meet. Honestly this lady has been incredible from the moment we met. She went above and beyond for us in all the situations we were faced with and made the whole experience an unforgettable one. A moment I will never forget was on our wedding day she was the first person to greet us as we got out of the car, to later on be told that she was actually supposed to be off on annual leave as her Dad was over to visit from abroad, this shows how much of a lovely person she is, and how committed and dedicated she is to her job, and this will always mean a lot to us Natalie. There are too many instances I could mention where Natalie went above and beyond, but please know we will always be thankful.

Had an Amazing & relaxed time in the spa " With my lovely sisinlaw! & the staff were lovely & very helpful from start to finish! And had a lovely afternoon tea & prosecco!

Very picturesque setting, tranquil surroundings. Visited the spa a couple of times now for massages, staff always very professional, welcoming and warm. You will leave feeling very chilled and flollopy 😊

Visited the spa this week and had a fabulous time. The full body massage, facial and manicure was amazing. My skin smelt and felt divine. The facilities were wonderful. The outlook from the pool was beautiful. The food was delicious. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and did everything they could to make your day relaxing and stress free. I definitely recommend and look forward to a visit in the future.

Had a lovely spa day with my Sis yesterday. I've been to quite a few and this is the best I've ever been to. Sauna overlooking the water with ducks swimming past. Brilliant pool and steam rooms. We also had lunch in great restaurant.
Would definitely visit again when I come back to the area 😃

Absolutely stunning place. My first time here and definitely won’t be my last. Went for a wedding. The staff can’t do enough for you. The food was amazing. The bed was very comfortable, room spacious and lovely and clean. We even made use of the room service to have a couple of nightcaps delivered. Thank you to the team at Stanley House Hotel and Spa! We had our wedding at the venue and it was absolutely brilliant. Communication from the Wedding Team was excellent from our initial booking, through Covid restrictions and to the day of the wedding. The team on the day went above and beyond to make sure our day was not impacted by other events. Everything went to plan and a great time was had by all. Food was excellent and people repeatedly commented on how beautiful the venue was. Can't wait to come back! Amy Timlin.

Stayed over 2 night for my best friends Wedding and I couldn't have asked for a better venue for her and her husband, we had a greatest day and the staff were all so friendly and helpful, food was also amazing definitely will be coming back again :)

I would like to thank all of the stanley house spa for all you did today for my mums 60th birthday treat the staff where very helpful and kind we both loved our massage afternoon tea and the hydrotherapy pool I would highly recommend people to pay them a visit il be coming again for sure but will book a room next time as well xx.

Everything it’s a fabulous venue, my daughter got married here in 2018, it was an amazing day, nothing has changed, the staff, the food and the surroundings are 100% excellent.

We ordered some lovely food lastnight and got it delivered! The pizzas are amazing! Would highly recommend! We're going to try the Sunday roast next time as it looks delicious.

Would highly recommend Stanley House at home. We ordered our meal to celebrate our anniversary at home, absolutely lovely food portion sizes were brill and we cant believe what we got for the price. All delivered with a nice young man dressed smart in a shirt and tie. Thank you for making it special for us.

I’d avoid until the attitude of Greg the “head waiter” improves. Not impressed with the way he talks about others at all. Makes your business look bad.

Excellent stay here as a little night away. So clean and pretty. Staff are helpful and breakfast tasty. Spa super relaxing. Will be back again ❤️❤️

Came up for what would have been our wedding day and they treated us amazingly well. Credit to the staff!

We have just spent a wonderful night away here. From the moment we arrived till the time we left it has been amazing, every single member of staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble.
The room — it was spotless and everything you could need was available, the bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in, best nights sleep in a long time.
The bar/restaurant — again spotless and such great service. We had a few drinks in the bar first and it was table service, the moment our glasses were empty they were taken away and asked if we would like another. We were made to feel like we had our own personal member of staff.
Evening meal was superb one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten, again the staff were so helpful and attentive.
We have stopped at a lot of hotels and love a little luxury and we were not disappointed with Stanley house.
In a time where we are having to live with COVID-19 this hotel has got the balance just right. Every measure to keep guests safe was in place, but without taking away that personal touch. 5* hotel 5* staff will definitely be returning.

We have just returned from celebrating my best friends mums 70th at Stanley House Hotel and Spa.
Bedrooms were beautifully decorated, very stylish and they very spacious. They included both large bath and walk in shower. Beds were really comfy and views from our room were stunning.
Staff were very friendly and couldn’t have done anymore for us all.

Had a lovely overnight stay with my mum and sisters celebrating her 70th birthday. Relaxed in the spa and afterwards a treatment. Enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal and breakfast in the morning. Such a lovely place to visit and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back for our next mum and daughters relaxing spa and stay experience. 5 star all round.

Amazing food, staff, rooms, grounds and spa!

We got married at Stanley House a few weeks ago. The day went amazingly and the staff were fantastic throughout.
They dealt brilliantly with our complex dietary requirements and even changed my meal on the day when I was feeling overwhelmed so wanted something lighter.
Paul and Joe were amazing, kept us up to date throughout the day and were there when we had any questions.
The venue was stunning and was perfect for our special day! Would highly recommend as a wedding venue!

Stunning food at the grill on the hill service was friendly and professional nothing too much trouble. Lovely views to enjoy too.

Attended my sons wedding here sat 6 April 2019. Booked an overnight stay too.
Hotels d staff absolutely lovely. We phoned and asked for an early check in as we had quite a drive and wanted to change in the room to save getting creased etc. This was arranged for us with a smile. Everything was perfect from the check in to check out

Still in love with this place… 11 years ago my husband and I were lucky enough to of got married here! It was the most amazing day ever. We return every year on our anniversary sometimes for food and sometimes overnight with use of the spa. Never have we been disappointed with our visits. Yesterday was my birthday and was surprised to find that my parents and husband had chosen Stanley House for birthday lunch… we all enjoyed every bit of food and drink and they even gave my a glass of Prosecco on the house as my birthday treat! It’s these special touches that add to an already amazing place. Recommend over and over again!

Very good accommodation and food. The hotel was a little remote with few local facilities available There was a lack of information in the rooms but overall a lovely stay ideal for relaxing.

Had our wedding at Stanley house. Joe was so so amazing he ran the day perfectly. But I wanted a band and Stanley house was not over keen with that so they said to provide a Stanley house supplied DJ with music and he would play it which I did. The DJ started off playing music with a real screech through the sound he then was asked to play a few other which he turned it to hour of two of playing the exact music I would of hated played at my wedding the type of music played at every holiday camp why entertaining 5 year olds. Not the sound track I wanted for my wedding but what I did notice is that as soon as he had played his own playlist the quality of the sound improved 10 fold. But the evening manager was not to be found. Also. There was a accident on the night by a member of staff but over a week on we are still waiting for a call back from Stanley house.

Our home from home… and our favourite, special place! Stanley House has become a truly special place in our hearts and we cannot recommend it enough to anyone who has not yet visited. Whether it is for a stay in the hotel, a trip to the spa, or dining in the amazing Grill on the Hill our experience has been nothing but 5 star each and every time we have visited. After a surprise proposal here at Stanley House last year, my husband and I were lucky enough to get married here in February this year and what a truly amazing experience it was from start to finish. The day itself was out of this world and perfect in every single way. All the staff that were involved in the day were incredible and all deserve recognition for their hard work and professionalism! We must give special thanks to Emma for her help and support in planning our day and to Megan for making sure everything went to plan on the day! Also thanks to Joe for his help and night and to the chefs… WOW! Thanks for really making us feel like part of the family and for all the special memories!

Beautiful and luxurious building and decor. The staff are fantastic and really make you feel welcome.

Been a few times for Sunday lunch in Griil on the Hill, truly great food and always excellent service. I particularly like the restaurant decor & airy room with lots of natural light. The mezzanine seating area is also relaxing for pre-drinks or post coffee. Quality.

Stayed overnight as part of a spa package. The spa experience was fantastic. I had a back massage which was excellent. The food in the grill on the hill was amazing. The room was spotless and really nice. All the Staff very nice. Not the first time I've stayed here and most certainly won't be the last.

I attended a wedding here. The staff were not very helpful, I asked if I can get a coffee and I was directed to the bar and the same lady at the bar told me sorry we dont do coffee at the bar. Very unprofessional.

Amazing massage today as part of the wedding bells package. Absolutely incredible. I'm doo relaxed and revitalized. My skin feels like silk and my muscles feel warm and supple. I'd recommend this amazing place to everyone.

We got married here in September last year and every second of the day was better than we could have ever imagined. Bethany was excellent in answering our many questions in the months before going through everything with us and helping us plan our day. We visited the day before and met Megan for the first time. Megan was superb on the day, nothing was ever too much trouble for her and her organisation is second to none.
Every one of our guests complimented the food, from the canapés to the wedding breakfast, through to the evening buffet. The service provided during the wedding breakfast was faultless. The rooms were immaculate. We had 20 odd guests stay over with us and everyone said how amazing their room was.
We visited the spa a couple of weeks after the wedding, receiving the full body massage. It was another excllent experience and we will be returning again in the near future.

Just got married on new years eve here. There aren't enough stars in the sky to give this place and the lovely staff the sparkling review it deserves.
So perfect in every way, the Staff are so well mannered, efficient and helpful in so many ways. Always polite, and courteous, really professional and completely in control and so organised, the communication between the staff is really good, everyone is always where they are meant to be they are always one step ahead. I would really like to Thank everyone at Stanley house for making our Wedding and stay truly magical, and a special thank you to Megan and Greg for always going the extra mile, They couldn't do enough for us and the advice they gave us throughout the day was spot on. the Spa Facility is absolutely breath taking and we will be coming back very soon as a married couple. If your getting married, this is the only place worth looking at. Attention to detail is astonishing. Lovely place and Lovely people.

A bit disappointed with our recent stay as it wasn’t half as good as our last one. The spa wasn’t open (apart from the treatment room which we weren’t interested in) and we only discovered this when I rang down from our room to book a time slot. It wasn’t mentioned when we checked in that it was closed for a few days for maintenance and if we had been advised prior to our visit then we would have rearranged the date. This time we stayed in the original house, which was beautiful but could have been cleaner as the lovely stone mullion windows were covered in cobwebs. However we particularly loved the reception room downstairs, our slipper bath and the views. The food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent the waiting on staff were attentive and friendly.

Both the venue and staff were amazing! Only downside to the stay was the lack of television channels available in room! Spa was very relaxing.

Went to a Wedding open day there. Staff were very friendly, attentive and encouraging. The grounds were lovely, the spa tour felt like a treatment in itself! Well worth a look around.

Pretty fancy hotel. We were here for an afternoon meal. All the food was excellent. The service was excellent and the facilities were very plush. Decent size car park as well.

I have visited the spa here multiple times. This place is literally luxury. There service is second to none. They provide robes and slippers. They allow you to go out on the terrace to relax before treatments. We had afternoon tea booked aswell as treatments and they catered to all our needs – they provided us with a vegan option and also allowed us to have the afternoon tea on the terrace rather than having to go to the restaurant to eat. The thermal suite consists of a hydro-pool which has the most amazing views. You feel as though you are in the countryside. It also has a sauna, steam room and a tropical rainforest shower. It is super clean and the staff ensure you feel calm and relaxed! I would definitely recommend this to anyone and will be going again soon!

The Stanley house team are first class and the venue is just amazing. We celebrated our wedding at the hotel on 17th June 2017 which was fabulous. The day was perfect, we could not have been looked after any better, the food was amazing, the accommodation beautiful, the event ran perfectly & the extra special touches meant both ours and our guests experience was faultless thank you to a great team for the amazing memories you helped us create. I went here as a wedding guest. The view and place was very nice and scenic for a wedding. The food was tasty and service was great. Despite this I felt there were limitations on selections of food, drink, and limited space for dancing and tables.

The location is very picturesque and quiet. The room was spacious and comfortable. Although there was no milk to make a drink but reception provided some. The doublet bed appeared to be two single mattresses put together. The television was a good size but the absence of all freeview channels seems odd in this day and age. The bathroom and shower were excellent. The restaurant food was excellent and service was very good. Breakfast was also very good.

Ive attended lots of events here from weddings to business events. Wonderful hotel & Spa, luxurious rooms with lovely views over Lancashire. The food and service is always exceptionsl. Highly recommend.

We went to grill on the hill for valentines day, the set menu was great, the standard of food and service was very high, it may sound odd but the only thing to let it down was the atmosphere or lack of atmosphere.

Went for Sunday lunch with my wife and her family, we were welcomed with a warm and friendly greeting, the waiters and waitresses were polite and attentive. The food and drink was excellent as always and after the meal we went upstairs to have our Tea/coffee to relax and enjoy the amazing views out of the window.

Good location, very nice rooms, good spa and gym and excellent restaurants. Have stayed before and will stay again.

Ate at Mr Freds with a large group — really good food, good service and price a bit less than expected! A big range of food all with something a bit special. Will visit again.

The restaurant and accommodation are exceptional, as are the service, we return as often as we can and are never disappointed.
