We came for afternoon tea & it was an absolute delight. The first one we have been to where we were offered a choice of sandwich so we knew they were super fresh & exactly what we wanted. Then the cakes & scones came out after we had finished with the sandwiches & the scones were warm. Genius! Plenty of tea & jam & cream too, there was so much we took our left over cakes home. Thank you to the friendly & attentive staff too. We had a perfect afternoon.

Such a beautiful location and hotel with fantastic views! All staff have excellent customer service and are very friendly. Upon arrival the receptionist addressed our 5 year old daughter to check us in which she loved and made her feel special. It was particularly funny when she said you must make sure your mummy and daddy behave.
The family bedroom was ideal in size, clean, comfortable with incredible views! The restaurant food was absolutely amazing standard!
We will definitely will be back and for a longer stay next time.

Stayed this weekend on the all inclusive deal, wow what fantastic value it is! Cream tea on arrival was lovely even allowed me to have hot choc as I don’t like tea or coffee! Evening meal was delicious and Darren was very attentive even changing the 70s music to more up to date
Can’t fault anything really — only thing I can say is need a pen in the room to fill breakfast form but literally that’s the only thing!

We had takeaway hunters chicken and stir-fry Chicken with noodles my mouth watering by smell in car just driving back and tasted fantastic. Been to restaurant a few times for Sunday dinner and can highly recommend 5

We had a fantastic takeaway from here last night. Deepak's chicken tikka masala is the best you will find anywhere and very generous portions. Onion bhajis superb too. Thankyou for a fabulous meal. X.

Had Sunday lunch here, lovely food and great staff. Very nice atmosphere.

The decor is luxurious and a feast for my eyes. There are so many wonderful items to look at: furniture, ornaments, pictures etc. So interesting. I like also that they support local business by way of artwork for sale hanging on the walls. The restaurant was also delightfully cozy and comfortable and the food devine. I am very much looking forward to the murder mystery event tonight.

Great Sunday lunch. Quality food and quality service! Plenty of space for little people to run around outside (weather permitting) and a spacious restaurant. Not a bad view of our home County either!

Great food, great staff, great views, great rooms.

Just booked our New Year break as we stayed last year and had such a wonderful time. Food and service were fantastic, in fact we provisionally booked straight away as we had such a fab time. Music, fireworks, great company and the best scones I have ever eaten (and I’ve tried a few). Looking forward to staying in one of the new upgraded rooms this year.

We had a really lovely three night break here last week. The room was one of the newly refurbished ones, with wonderful valley views. The food was excellent (with chef always happy to adjust menu to suit my food intolerances). All staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which helps one to relax and enjoy the place.
The hotel is about equidistant from Hereford, with it’s gorgeous cathedral, and Ross on Wye, with its lovely river walk. We also visited a couple of NationalTrust properties in the area, and Tintern Abbey on our way home.
Really enjoyed our visit and hope to stay again another time. Thank you Steve and all.

Had a lovely stay at The Pilgrim on our way to Devon to visit our daughter and granddaughter. Pilgrim was the ideal choice for an overnight break. Staff wonderful and food sublime. Gin and tonics to die for. Will return.

Just had a lovely 2 night short break at the Pilgrim Hotel. The staff were really friendly, nothing was too much, breakfast and evening meal were lovely. Bedrooms clean and bed comfy. There is a lovely conservatory where you can have lunch then move out onto a large decked area with breathtaking views. Recommend this hotel.

Very warm welcome when we arrived and shown to our room. Bigger room than expected with great view of the hills, very quiet at night. Breakfast and evening meal was excellent with good service. All in all we had a very enjoyable weekend would hope to return but would be more than happy to recommend The Pilgrim to my family and friends.

Couldn't of been more accommodating for my wife and baby. Outstanding service, beautiful surroundings and close to points of interest. Always courteous and willing to go that bit extra to provide a service. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay. All the staff were very cheerful and helpful. We upgraded for a room with a view which was worth the extra. The location is wonderful and peaceful. We were able to sit out and enjoy the peace (there is some road noise). We had our dinner out on the terrace. The food was fabulous too. I would use this hotel in an instant again. I also have no reservations about recommending it.

Apart from being called Welsh dirt by one of the patrons as we were leaving we had a great time there. Really lovely place.

Lovely relaxing hotel, rooms were lovely with stunning views especially from our bathroom over the countryside, food was gorgeous and plenty of it. Staff really friendly, the owner was really friendly and most helpful and made you feel so welcome. A quiet location but with a little traffic noise in the morning. Would recommend if you like a relaxing quiet location. A few minutes walk to bus stop from hotel for bus to Hereford. A taxi back is around £17 (£20 with tip) such a nice taxi driver also.

Lovely evening meal great views superb food. Excellent value. Mango parfait with fruit coulis definitely worth a try!

Really nice oldy-worldy building in a beautiful setting. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Great value too, with breakfast included in the room price.

The staff and food are outstanding. However the rooms needs updating and a good revamp theyr cold dark n dated. The cleanliness however is spot on. The bed linen always clwan.

This weekend was our second visit. Our first was a last-minute night away, and this weekend was a special murder mystery evening, with a night of B&B before and after. Really enjoyed the whole stay. The hotel is a traditional country hotel. The sort where you can actually have a holiday, not some faceless corporate set of sleeping quarters. Ok, it's not the most modern, but that's the point. It's comfortable and welcoming, and we feel very at home there. The staff are EXCELLENT, the food is very nice, and the atmosphere very good. We look forward to another visit.

Can't vouch for the accommodation but being able to get a decent much, served without a qualms at 3:15 on a Saturday afternoon in England speaks volumes and no trouble with gluten free options for my wife.

Lovely location, room, food, and staff although the drinks bill at the bar was a little high £14. Odd for two drinks. Otherwise a lovely place to stay!

Wow! The views from an upstairs bedroom with several windows provided a real sense of escape and relaxation. Friendly staff. Good parking facilities.

Stayed here twice the service is very good the food is superb, we always stay in traditional type rooms which they have as well as executive rooms if that's your preference. It's relaxed and friendly.

Amazing views of Golden Valley. Nice food, relaxed atmosphere, board games, outside decking lovely in summer. Hotel prices.

We visited the bar and sat outside. The view is absolutely stunning. A beautiful backdrop while enjoying our delicious cream teas. The staff were polite and friendly. I'd highly recommend The Pilgrim.

A beautiful old period building that although is kept in its period fashion could do with a little modernising of the rooms and infrastructure. The food is OK but not first rate. The view is however stunning and in the spring or summer if the weather allows a drink on the rear veranda is well worth the time.

Excellent room, dinner in evening superb, staff very attentive, comfortable and spacious hotel, but breakfast a great shame, staff still excellent but if you do not want a bacon/egg cooked breakfast then the Premier Inn standard offering is far far superier, in selection and in product quality. But enjoyed our stay and though overall good value.

Good value. Super friendly and attentive staff. Great views across to the Black Mountains. Comfortable rooms. Rude awakening this morning when some idiot set off the fire alarm by smoking in their room. Good breakfast. Highly recommended.

Very traditional hotel and some of the building looks a bit tired but overall a lovely place to go even for afternoon tea. From the main road it doesn't look so inviting but give it a chance as it has lovely views across to Wales from the other side. Staff are very helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough to help. So overall a lovely place to visit and try.

Really nice place to stay, big spacious rooms. I love the 4poster bed. Great views overlooking the mountains. Very clean hotel so you can feel very comfortable. Breakfast is delicious.

My husband and I stayed for a two night break this week and found the food excellent. Our room was large, very clean and with stunning views over the countryside. Staff were friendly and helpful. The log fire burning in the bar made it really cosy in the evening while we had a drink before dinner. It was so nice to find a hotel that still does waiter service for meals. We went on the hotel's March deal and we couldn't fault the value. We will definitely go back if we are visiting the area again.
