The best hotel in the New Forest. We have stayed many times and it just keeps improving. The team are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Rooms spotless and the food is exceptional. Very dog friendly to the point that beds are provided for all the seating areas :-) straight onto the forest for lovey evening and early morning walks.

We had a very comfy night staying here, great service, nice clean rooms and the food in the restaurant was good too. This was a relief after a hectic day in peppa pig world having driven from Devon for a stop over as a final night of our holiday. We had 2 double rooms, one which had a beautiful roll top bath which the kids enjoyed. Stunning gardens to walk in, adjoining the new forest. I would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had room 15 which was delightful. We also had a very nice dinner and were especially impressed by our waitress who was excellent. I think her name was Gina, We enjoyed a walk in the Forest and hope to return.

We had a lovely stay here with our dog. The deluxe suite was ideal with the conservatory and private garden. Our dog loved running around the wider garden area too.
We were very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the room. We were also very
pleased to be able to eat our evening meal and breakfast in the room and the food was lovely. Extra Covid measures made us feel very safe. Would definitely stay again!

I had a lovely Afternoon tea with some friends. The food was amazing and we ended up taking some of it home as we couldn't eat it all. Beautiful garden and very polite and friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. We have booked to have an evening meal here in a couple of weeks.

Sooo dog friendly and wonderful accommodating staff who work their socks off and stay happy.

Only downside, is being an old building you can hear everything from the other bedrooms, not so good if you are a light sleeper.
Overall though a great experience and I would stay again.

Really nice hotel and dog friendly. The staff are great, friendly and very helpful. Despite there being a major power outage in the whole area they couldn't do enough. The restaurant food was excellent too… and we could eat with our pooch. Perfect!

Dogs made very welcome, including dog beds in the bar. Perfect for a dog walking weekend with the New Forest just through a gate in the garden. Excellent food. Staff friendly & helpful. Will definitely go back.

This has been our regular stay in the New Forest for the last few years… we like the atmosphere and like the fact you are a few yards from walks in the forest. The staff are very friendly and helpful… for us, parking is important, as we drive a Classic Mustang, which needs space to park, no problems… looking forward to our next visit.

Good service. No lift. Steep stairs. Room adequate but paint work tired, nowhere to hang towels. Comfy bed. Don't feel is worth £120 pr night. £5 for a bottle of beer is rather much! Went for a wedding and the grounds proved to be a lovely setting.

This is a pet friendly hotel. I'm hard to please but I liked this place, it's a nice chilled out place where the staff are kind, friendly and really will go out of their way to accommodate you so if you dont ask you wont get. The rooms are adequate, keep in mind we had a dog room so I did not expect it to be overly clean. Good size, you get what you pay for. If you need a large room you have to pay the extra. The room was ok, keep in mind it's a very old building so no spare plug sockets. If you got lots of gadgets bring an extension lead. The hotel has very individual rooms to rent, balcony, family and some with a conservatory on the ground floor. I did not feel penalized being a smoker. There are plenty of places for you to have a puff. The grounds are adequate for dogs to walk and kids to play. They even supplied a towel, blanket & treat for your dog on arrival. I'm not a food person but they seemed to have a good menue & room service if you want to chill out with your meal. Dog friendly bar as well. The location is central to most touristy places if thats what you need. We just went for walks in the forest which were right on the doorstep of the hotel. There was a great pub not far from the hotel The New Forest Inn, about 4 miles, dog friendly, served really good English food and big portions if your a big eater. At the back of the Inn there is a lovely walk through the forest.

A most charming place to stay where a warm welcome was backed up with a level of service that it is rare to find! Excellent food and wine complimented an already enjoyable visit. The ability to stroll into the New Forest as an extension of the hotels garden was a pleasant surprise and simply added to what was a truly wonderful few days. Thank You!

Pleasant location with a lovely garden. Bar area in conservatory. Meal well cooked & attractively served. Vegetables needed more cooking for my liking. Service was good.

Had better cream teas. Duty manager not very helpful to sort out problem about room booked. Beautiful gardens made up for it. Would not rush back.

My favourite place to stay in the new forest. Dog friendly, the food is fabulous and the staff are wonderful. We went twice last year and will return again this year.

Great place to get away with amazing food. Located in a prime spot in the New Forest. The staff are both friendly and efficient. The only negatives are that the hotel is now a bit dated and could do with a revamp and the mattress are in desperate need of replacing.

We stayed in the garden suite with our two dogs so had a total of four rooms. Three of the rooms were very nicely decorated, the conservatory needs a bit of updating. It was lovely to have our own private garden for the dogs. The evening meal was very nice and breakfast was good. Incredible good value for money. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I chose to stay at Woodlands Lodge Hotel because of the excellent location on the edge of the New Forest and it was dog friendly. We had a pleasant stay mid march '18 for 4 nights. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

A lovely quiet welcoming country hotel with an amazingly caring staff. The rooms are pretty and cosy with views over the splendid garden so prettily lit up at night. The menus are interesting and varied and the whole experience is first class. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Set on the edge of the New Forest, hotel garden merges into the forest. Our room was comfortable and looked over the garden. Our little dog was made welcome. Interesting menu with some very tasty options.

Nice country house hotel in the New Forest. The outside of the hotel is quite understated compaired the the interior. This country house hotel has a warm and friendly feeling, the reception area is very informal but well kept. The bedrooms are all decorated individually to a very high standard giving the hotel a very homley and cozy feel. All the bedrooms have en-suit facilities including a bath and shower or a combination. Some bedroms have four poster beds and a living room area. The outside is beautifully kept, the garden to the rear has some seating and a giant chess set. The rear garden also leads directly into the New Forest where you can walk or bike, maps of local trails are available from the reception area. Buffet breakfast of the highest quility, you can also have afternoon tea and dinner here.

We stayed overnight after a trip to Peppa Pig World. The rooms were gorgeous and the staff couldn't have been friendlier to us, including my two and five year old. We chose to eat dinner at the hotel which was amazing. Duck for me, lamb for hubby, and a kids menu. Breakfast was equally delicious with smoked salmon, waffles etc! Our room was a family suite so we had a space for kids to sleep and us. A perfect stay. We will be back!

Beautiful hotel, nice rooms and lovely gardens. Came here for my mother's birthday and they couldn't have been more accommodating, food was fantastic and the very friendly staff couldn't do enough to help you. The whole party went off without a hitch with absolutely beautiful food in a beautiful setting. Lovely venue that certainly deserves their rosette and trip advisor certificate of excellence.

Very nice looking hotel with lovely grounds. The rooms were both nice and clean although very cold as someone had left all the windows open, likely for the room to air and dry from cleaning, but with 1 radiator in the room it stayed cold for quite a while. The TV worked fine and so did both electricity sockets either side of the bed which we used. The staff were very nice and friendly, and I feel if needed to would have gone above and beyond for guests. Breakfast was adequate although a little on the greasy side and the eggs both scrambled and fried were under cooked as was bacon, a nice selection otherwise for food. The room size was a little cosy, but was more than enough for two people, the bathroom was tiny though even for one person, and unfortunately the whirlpool in the bath showed no sign of working which was a shame as it was a romantic get away. Also the finish in the bathroom left a lot to be desired, there were two wooden pieces filling gaps at either end of the bath. A minor note but the bath and shower looked pretty dated and were a really dirty looking cream which made it feel a little dirty even though everything was clean on inspection. The shower was tiny but water was hot quickly and also a decent flow.

Myself and my husband had a brilliant stay at woodlands lodge hotel. This was our 3rd visit and each time it gets better and better. We absolutely love staying with you.
The stay was for my husband's birthday so before we had our delicious dinner we decided to have a drink first. The first round was kindly on you and we were so grateful for that so thank you!
All staff were very helpful, chatty and friendly and made our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The room was beautiful, clean, had everything we needed and the bed was lovely to sleep in.
Dinner was amazing! We love the food at woodlands lodge and will always have dinner when we stay. Compliments to the chef, all 3 courses were so delicious
Breakfast again was yummy and started our day off perfectly.

Wonderful hotel with character (an ex-hunting lodge I understand) set on the edge of the New Forest. Our 2nd floor room was nice and clean with lovely leafy outlook from both bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were very polite and helpful. What more could you want?

Fun, warm, charming, beautiful, great customer service, and super dog friendly. We had one of the best weekends away we've had for years. Highly recommend. Great comfortable large bed, balcony,. Some of the ground floor rooms had their own conservatory too. Go along and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the new forest which starts at the bottom of their garden!

We had a family lunch celebrating an 80th birthday. The hotel was very peaceful, set in the New Forest, away from any busy roads. The staff were friendly and efficient, and made us feel at home. We had a large room to ourselves, very bright and airy. Our meals were well produced, good portion sizes and appetising. After lunch we were able to walk in the grounds before taking tea and coffee, and cake. Choosing Woodlands Lodge was a good decision, much better than picking a national hotel chain, much more character that resulted in a memorable day for everyone.

I was interested in visiting the hotel after glowing reports from my son who had been a guest at a wedding there in February; he had reported that the sit down meal and the evening buffet had been very enjoyable. So gladly accepted an invitation to an afternoon cream tea. The hotel is just off a quiet lane on the edge of the New Forest. The reception rooms overlook the attractive large gardens and people had spilled out onto the lawns to enjoy the sunny weather. There were a number of families celebrating birthdays and children were playing hide and seek in the garden. Our party of twelve were given sole use of one of the smaller rooms. There are a number of cream tea menus and we enjoyed the Hunter's afternoon tea. This comprised of finger length sandwiches which included smoke salmon and creme fraiche, honey glazed ham, coronation chicken and egg mayonnaise. This was followed by scones, both plain and fruit ones, clotted cream and strawberry jam together with a varied selection of traditional cakes and macaroons. Large pots of tea and coffee completed the meal. The sandwich platters and cake stands were generously loaded and, although delicious, a few cakes were left. The staff were very attentive to our needs and were warm and friendly. The quality of the fare and the excellent service made it an absolute pleasure. I very much look forward to my next visit.

Great dog friendly hotel. We only stayed for one night but will go back for sure. The staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough for you, rooms were good size. Very peaceful, quiet rooms. Shower was a bit small but ok. Only a couple of minute walk and your on common land, great for dogs and kids. This place could do with a lick of paint here and there but otherwise its great.

Wow what a fantastic Hotel! We visited for our close friends wedding this weekend and stayed the Saturday night.
Lovely welcoming staff, fantastic food and gorgeous room. We stayed in room 1 which was very quirky with the beams and has a lovely roll top bath tub but had a modern twist.
The staff were so efficient during the wedding and reception keeping everything running smoothly, bar staff were also very lovely. Breakfast was tasty.
We will def be back — so nice to stay in such a stunning individual hotel — as far away from the generic chains as it can get.

We have just spent a fabulous weekend celebrating a special birthday. Imogen and Rob closed the hotel for us all. We had a delightfully filling Afternoon Cream Tea with the best clotted cream I've ever tasted. Dinner in the evening was delicious. We danced the evening away and lounged well beyond midnight. We had a good night's sleep in our tastefully decorated room. After bathing in the beautiful roll top bath under the eves with sight of the garden and the sun poring in we had a very generous & delicious
3-course breakfast.
The hotel is sumptuously decorated and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. Unfortunately we didn't have time for a walk, but it begins in the garden! Minutes drive away is the open parts of the New Forest, fords, Burley and Lyndhurst.
What more could one ask for. Thank you. Can't wait to return.

Really nice and cozy hotel. If you have the windows open ar night, you can hear the owls. It's a rather old building, so you can hear the floors creaking, did not bother us though. If scallops are still on the menu, you should definitely try it!

Had a great weekend here for a small family wedding. The staff were great, rooms comfortable, food tasty and the location on the edge of the forest is very peaceful. Loved it.

Beautiful gardens, shame about the grumpy receptionist. Customer care skills poorly lacking from the lady who was working when I was there.

We stayed in a family room (meaning double suite), it was clean, spacious and comfy but the decoration completely outdated. The breakfast room still smelled of fish from dinner the day before. And the food wasn't good at all (couldn't eat the pancakes I've been served). The garden was ok, could have been much tidier. Staff was very nice. But overall it was overpriced.

Went there for a wedding at the weekend, was immediately nonplussed on arrival, no staff were there to welcome us and direct us to the waiting area, the task was left up to the bride's family. Upon entering the hotel I was shocked to see that I have the same cheap but cheerful wallpaper in my front room (less than £10 a roll from Wilkinson's — not what I expected for a 3* hotel) no drinks were offered upon arrival and we had to wait ages to get a member of staff to attend the bar despite ringing the service bell several times (this was a constant irritation all day). When staff did attend they were surly and had no idea how to tend bar. I was surprised by how small the venue was, during the ceremony and the meal afterwards I was reminded of sardines packed in a can and there were less than 100 guests attending! The ceremony was beautiful however no thanks to the staff I should add. After the ceremony my 8 year old was very hungry, I asked the manager if I could purchase 2 packets of crisps to keep us going until the meal and thought the manager was joking when he charged me £4! For two small bags of crisps that cost 64 pence in Tesco (I checked) when I asked him if he was joking he replied very rudely "we're a hotel" it turns out the crisps were the only thing apart from the salmon skewer starter worth eating.

A truly wonderful hotel. We arrived on a Friday afternoon just in time for tea in a very comfortable lounge. The room was large and airey with an immaculate bathroom. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was out of this world. With out a doubt we will be returning to this hotel in the future.
