Reviews of Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa 4*
The food and service was appalling, I was unfortunately staying for 4 nights on a coach tour. Everyone complained on the first night and the general manager provided a pre dinner drinks on the second night as an apology. Unfortunately the food was no better for the remainder of our stay, thank goodness Tescos was in walking distance. This was the worst food I have ever been served in a hotel.
Absolutely disgusted in our visit today to the spa and hotel. Booked in for a spa day included a 2 course lunch was told by staff it was a lunch buffet the food I wouldn’t of fed to my dog was supposed to be a buffet … it consisted of microwaved chicken … jacket potatoes dry beans and brown salad that looked like it had been sat there for hours. Was told by staff there was a tour on I don’t see what that has to do with the food that we had bought and paid for with our spa package. 4 drinks including a shandy x2 pineapple and Malibu and a orange juice and lemonade came to £42 absolutely disgusting staff told us that this is due to people getting drunk and wrecking the place so they have raised the price of drinks to prevent people causing damage absolutely ludicrous. Paid £153 and would never do it again. Booked for a friends birthday absolutely awful. There was a couple behind us they refused to eat the food and said they would be complaining and the other people in the buffet area where horrified. Compete let down and waste of money.

Stayed for two night spa break returning yesterday. Fawlty Towers looks good compared to this hotel! The positives — spa and treatments were really good, all of the teenage hotel staff did their best given that they had no training or supervision or anyone in charge! The negatives — oh dear, so many that is was actually funny. *On arrival, cheery chap at reception but couldn’t check in as we had arrived early because our spa treatments had been booked (by the spa staff) before check in. He apparently couldn’t check to see if the room might be ready so we left our bags at reception. *visited the toilets near reception and they were very dirty and the stench was awful. *waited at the deserted bar for 20 minutes then had to go back to reception to ask them to find a barman who eventually arrived. *after much toing and froing it was established that we could have afternoon tea. Took another 30 minutes to arrive and was completely inedible. Two fillings, cucumber with cream cheese, and ready sliced cheese. Sandwiches were cheap white sliced bread, wet, only thinly buttered on one slice and awful. In an interesting first for an afternoon tea the wafer thin plain scones came with marmalade! Cake selection was abysmal. Hopefully I will be able to upload a pic to show the contrast between what we got and what was on the picture in the bar. Returned it as it was inedible and also had the incredible price tag of £21.95 each!
