Thry treat some of their staff extremely unfairly. Disgusting.

Many issues from cold food, a long wait, food missing, poor service. Our room wasn't ready on time, empty glasses everywhere so no clean tables in reception or the bar. We asked for a wine cooler and were handed a dirty one that he had just taken an empty bottle out of. Pedicure was just a toe nail paint and one foot was matt and the other had top coat on! My toe was also cut by the girl doing my nails. The pool floor was filthy and definitely no luxury or spa feeling about it. John the restaurant manager said he would speak to us in the morning and didn't. When I asked to check out he got someone else and walked off. We were awake most of the night because of the noisy room next door and when we had had enough at 4am we called reception many times but noone answered. We were told we need to email to Complain although we spoke to the lady on reception. A few other issues too and as this was supposed to be for my friends birthday and were really looking forward to it we are extremely disappointed and we both left deflated, tired and upset.

However wish to express some observations from our stay. The main thing we noticed was the lack of experience/training from the staff working in the bar and restaurant. Whilst they were very pleasant especially Harvey and Adam, who were literally running between the bar and restaurant during our dinner service, as was the manager. I appreciate with the train strikes, this could of impacted on your staffing that day. At dinner, we asked for a replacement water glass as there were water marks from the dishwasher, I feel that a shine or wipe would have made this better, as per some of the photos on your website/Facebook page, my husband also had a big crack around the rim of his glass. I had a red wine glass and my husband a white wine glass on the table. This is where we felt some of the lack of training is evident. We ordered our wine and a few minutes later our food, our starters arrived, which was served by the manager, still no wine, which we reminded him about, minutes later our wine was bought to us, but at room temperature, straight from another room! The food was lovely. After dinner we went to the bar for a drink, we asked about cocktails and were told that we were unable to have any even though a cocktail shaker was behind the bar. We were also aware that the manager was making cocktails for the hen party you had in. We sat and had our drinks, the poor young man then notified us that he needed to help in the restaurant bar leaving the main bar unattended!

Not very clean for a 4 star hotel, very dated need a up lift, have a swim when we got there then drinks in the bar I ordered a ham and edam cheese hot sandwich, when it came it was meant to be in sore dough bread but it was just normal bread sent back it took 1 hour to get it right when it came 5he chips was cold and not even a sorry.

We have come as a coach party for Christmas & we have been sat in the dining room for the past 2 hours waiting for our meal. The waiters haven't a clue who is having what meal it is all adhoc. Some have had a starter & others not. There seems to be no management to sort these issues out. People are fed up with the situation it has spoilt our holiday & this is the 1st night of 3 doesn't bode well. You have to go to the bar for any drinks you may want.

Just had our wedding here after a venue cancelled on us. Amy Lowe and John Murphy made our day absolutely everything we wanted and more. Nothing was too much of an ask for them or any of their staff. Amazing staff throughout. Loved every minute of it. Cannot Thankyou all enough. Venue looks stunning, was so glad we chose to have our wedding here. Went for a spa day it was terrible, went for lunch at 12, 30 didn't even get my bowl of soup till 1.15, fridge in room was broke, couldn't even open my door n o the balcony, wen having dinner part of the ceiling fell down, the spa treatment was lovely but everything else was awufull!

Had an absolutely fabulous spa day, great staff, treatments were amazing, food was fabulous and we will definitely be back😊

Great place to stay. The staff are all so helpful and friendly, the hotel itself is clean, tidy and very stylish and has an amazing location.

We arrived at 5pm to check in to be told our room was not ready. We came back a few hours later and were offered discount — we were staying in a suite but were put in a smaller suite than I previously stayed there. I asked to talk to the general manager but they wouldn’t come out to talk to me.
Room had no coffee mugs, bath robes, toilet rolls, no shower gel, no wine, no tea spoons, no wine glasses and no hand towels! When we got to breakfast in the morning (before 9am and breakfast finished at 9:30), there wasn’t any hot food left! Waited for hash browns and tomatoes but none were refilled! Waited 15 mins for a gluten free roll, which was inedible. Gluten free toast would have been more suitable. I stayed in the same suite 16 years ago and nothing had changed — needs upgrading and some tlc to the lime scaled bathroom. No one was available at checkout. Obviously understaffed! I’ve stayed many times but so disappointed this time.

Great friendly staff, very welcoming, our room was very clean and well maintained, we also had dinner in the restaurant which we both really enjoyed, a great menu and very well presented on the plate, the buffet breakfast was also very nice with everything you could want. Overall a very nice night away.

Stayed here for a week. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room is clean and breakfast was good. It is also located near to the Tesco (10 minutes walking distance). A very pleasant stay to sum it up.

A warm welcome from the staff. Nice clean comfortable room, with much needed air-conditioning. We brought our dog with us, for which we paid an extra tariff unfortunately there was nowhere inside we could take him to have a meal. We are lucky that it's been the hottest summer in ages. The spa was very good, very pleasant and helpful staff.

Just had a two night stay at this hotel. Staff great and clean everywhere. Rooms are very well equipped and very comfortable. But the food was not great, ordered plain steak as husband allergic to mushrooms so the bring it with creamed mushrooms! So I had to eat alone… then when it comes it is burnt and very chewy… not worth £27.00!

I attended an event at the Hampshire Court this week and had very little contact with the hotel staff, other than requiring a coffee on arrival. I was met with confused staff who were not sure if the coffee machine was self service or not and then decided it needed refilling. 30 minutes later it was still out of commission. Lunch was lovely but I'm glad we were served early as it appeared that they ran out of salads. It was possibly one of the hottest venues I have ever been to, even with numerous air con machines in action, it was unbearable, prompting many to leave long before the end of the day — disappointing.

Great staff. Nice Hotel. Spa is lovely. Avoid pool however in school holidays! Otherwise great.

This was our 2nd stay here as the first was a bit of a nightmare and we were offered a night as a apology. If the 1st visit had been like the 2nd visit id have give the 5 stars.

Swim my son at the hotel, they are really strict with where the mum's can get changed leaving you in basically a tiny room with no real facilities to change a baby. Pretty poor really. Dad's isnt so bad, poor links to the motorway being across town. Fine if coming from reading direction. Right next to a big Tesco store for convienienve. Not exactly the best in town to be honest. Cheaper and better location at premier inn on new road.

Comfy bed and room spotless clean. Front desk staff very helpful. Very good overall and excellent price.

I was there almost every day during 5 months, at the pool or the fitness club. Everyone was lovely even if they can't say my french name :) Perfect place to relax and work out.

Nice rooms good size, large selection of TV channels, food is tasty although the level of service varies depending on the staff on shift. Access to the fitness sweet is complimentary and the facilities are clean and about what you could want in a short break.

Two small pools, one is adults only. Good selection of baby swimming lessons and they offer lessons for adults too. Changing facilities are clean but showers are often undergoing maintenance. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Came here for a work Christmas party, the food was good but nothing special! It took forever to get out, the wait between each course was far too long! Aside from that it was a lovely venue and the prices for the bar were very reasonable.

Very typical of a large scale corporate hotel. Clean, efficient and generally well run if a little impersonal. Staff were excellent, reception examplary. Breakfast buffet average, but adequate. If you were critical you could fingers odd bits of wear on furniture, slightly tired details. Most objectionable was the toilet seat in the room was the wrong shape for toilet, it was not serious but a little off putting. Toilet is modern D shape fitted with traditional oval seat.

Great venue for a Christmas party. The food was ok but the DJ, bar and ambience were great. A good time was had.

Chose to use a generic 'spa day' voucher here, and was very pleasantly surprised! Not groundbreaking/particularly modern facilities, but had everything we needed to make the day pleasant enough. The day was changed to just pleasant to very enjoyable, though, by the staff. Brilliant customer service from start to finish, made us feel very welcome, and were happy to do their utmost to make the experience special!

Spa — The Four Seasons it is not! Nice staff and treatment ok for price. But facilities and decor seriously lacking. Tired, dirty furniture. Reception hesitant to let you have spa treatment only as they assume you'll try and sneak into gym (?! ). Find it hard to believe AA awarded Spa 4 stars!

Located perfectly for training courses at the business park. Great food and service and facilities as expected.

Amazing hotel very comfy clean rooms with everything you need. Amazing staff who can't do enough for you. Will definitely be going back.

Brilliant hotel, lovely food, great staff the only 2 things are that the adult pool could be a bit warmer and I wish the room doors didn't slam like they do, that definitely put a dampener on trying to sleep when people where waking up and going out at silly o'clock to smoke or coming in from the wedding that was being held while we were staying. I would definitely stay again though, special mention to Iva, Adam and Maddie. Thank you.

The Hampshire Court Hotel has a very large hall suitable for hosting large events. The staff have kind and helpful, catering to all my needs.

I booked an afternoon tea spa experience for two, which included an hours treatment. The adult only pool was nice. The service in the bar area was slow. The treatment was enjoyable but was ruined by the very loud air conditioning unit in the room. There was also a real lack of information and the absense of a confirmation emai on booking was disconcerting. I had to ring up twice to confirm the details of my booking and each time received a different response. It was a nice afternoon but could have been much better — paid a lot of money and didn't see the value.

Room 172 is the best in the hotel. Reception very helpful. Restaurant could do better.

Room 138 was clean, spacious, and had fantastic air con for this heat! Great friendly staff, and my spa treatments so far have been great. Very happy with the standard of the hotel, and the gardens are amazing as well :)

Had a lovely girlie spa day here, nice pool, sauna, steam room and mini facial. Lunch was fab.

Wow! This hotel chain has recently been voted hotel chain of the year and it's easy to see why. Arrived late Monday evening and enjoyed a nice and reasonably priced meal. Was assigned a VIQ room and took advantage of the complimentary mini bar and snacks. My room has a balcony that really catches the sun. Breakfast was top drawer with everything you would expect, English, Continental even a gluten free selection. I'm currently lying on an amazingly comfy bed wishing I had a few more nights here. Room is spotlessly clean and well laid out. Everything you need is provided, trouser press, clean iron, ironing board, safe in room and free Wi-Fi. Wow again, deffo the best hotel I've stayed in for a long long while. Great value for the standard of accommodation. I've not even tried the pool, gym or spa options. I would happily live here.

The room we had was clean and airy and comfortable. The bed was a generous size and made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom facilities were also good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities were good too, we enjoyed the gym and the pool and sauna. It's a shame that the steam rooms weren't working. The stay was let down by the limited choices of beer — no draught bitters, just chemical lagers. The bar was also short of mixers such as ginger ale, and spirits were in short supply too. The food was disappointing — simply not value for money. My wife had a steak and salad; the salad consisting of three lettuce leaves. I had salmon and vegetables, which were a very small portion. In the bar a 'reuben' (which was nothing like a real rueben), was a thin slice of salt beef, a thin slice of cheese and pickle in a paninni and a small portion of fries for over £10. There was a generous amount of food available for breakfast, but I didn't appreciate the obviously microwaved bacon. Would I stay again? Perhaps, but I'd not eat or drink there, but go to one of the excellent pubs in the area instead.

We went for a spa day only to find that, thanks to a third party vendor we weren't booked in. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and, despite being heavily booked they fitted us in and we had a delightful day.

I went to the spa for a couple of treatments and a bit of time in the pool and steam room. The treatments were really lovely, the girl who did them was very professional. After the spa we stopped for some food in the bar. It took quite a while for our food to arrive, but it was delicious when it got there.

Great family hotel. Only place we were able to relax with kids. Great staff who correct minor misdemeanors promptly. Generous timing for separate pool for the kids we were able to have to ourselves many times.

Friendly and helpfull staff. Located in Basingstoke near tescos in chineham. Attended a sales conference there and the rooms were more than adaquet for 50+ plus people.

Thoroughly 3 star. Myself and my otherhalf stayed here for 1 night as we were down visiting friends over the Christmas/New year period, we stayed in a VIQ room and were massively underwhelmed by our stay and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Definitely not value for money.
