Always friendly service from the regular staff, have stayed here may times over the last few years as a stop over for work.

The hotel is very very British. Yes a little old fashioned, but it’s oozing charm and character! But what makes the place is the staff… warm, friendly and helpful! I would be happy to stay here again.

Surprisingly quiet being close to main road and airport. Very clean and comfortable, furnishings dated but clean… good breakfast and gluten free catered for. Staff friendly and all in all a good overnight stay here.

Good sized room which was spotless. The breakfast was eat as much as you like and was actually hot which doesn't happen in most hotels. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, if I attend any future music events at old Trafford I will definitely stay at the Normanhurst hotel.

Stayed here overnight after long drive. Welcoming staff and nice sized room that was clean. Would stay again!

Really great stay, the staff were so helpful and attentive. Holly on the bar could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The dinner was reasonably priced as was the breakfast. Rooms was spacious and clean. Could not fault.

I have always stayed at the Norman Hurst when I have visited Manchester. The last time was one year ago when the hotel rated as 5 stars! During my current visit I found out that the original family owners of over fifty years had sold the business and moved on. Sadly this is no longer the fully functioning hotel it was. The fantastic Sunday lunches and bar with conservatory are closed completely! Everything is feeling tired and unloved. In my room the wallpaper was coming off in sheets, the bed throw needed binning, and the tub chair hadn’t seen a vacuum in months. Badly marked and feeling quite dingy. Sorry to have lost one of those special places that build up a clientele who return year after year because the standards were so high.

Room small but adequate, no fridge, poor shower and no bath mat (floor flooded after shower.
Breakfast was a true disappointment, unable to cook poached eggs for me?!
Plates cold, bacon cold, no vegetarian option, and if you don't like fried food you will have to go without!
Staff pleasant hotel clean.
Sorry, but won't be staying here again.

It’s a lovely hotel with helpful staff. The rooms are big and very clean. It’s really close to the main center and has parking available. Happy to come again and recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Very friendly staff and quite large rooms. We stayed with three couples and all rooms very very clean. The garden is beautiful and very peaceful. Great location and parking facility available. Highly recommended.

Comfortable but dated hotel with easy access to Old Trafford, the city and the airport.

Lovely food, dont seem able to cope with large parties in restaurant.

Staying here now. Friendly staff, not tried the food yet but it does look nice. The hotel is a mixture of old and new, the rooms have all that you need and is very confatable, it's very quiet here at night, but during rush hour mornings and evenings Brookland Rd is a nightmare, very busy. I am here visiting family, most of the guests seems to be buissness people, a lot of work being done on laptops in the bar area.

3 course meal mid week… never disappoints especially at £16.95 pp. The staff are great!

Close to hospital, very quiet and warm.

What an absolutely brilliant find. Stayed here twice now, and both times totally impressed. The staff are friendly and welcoming, it's a lovely old building, rooms are very clean and comfortable, bar is a great feature so you don't have to think about Drivefly my somewhere for a drink. Haven't sampled the bar meals, simply because the restaurent is such amazing value for money — excellent 3 course meal options for £16.95, you would be daft not to.
The only negatives are that the decor in places is a little tired and needs updating, but I was assured that it is in hand and as this is STILL a family run business, they get to it when they can… and that's the only reason I've given it 4 stars and not an otherwise well deserved 5 stars.
When I need to stay over in greater Manchester, this is where it will be.

Nice enough for the price — room was comfortable and breakfast good.

We had a lovely meal, really good value for a three course dinner. Plenty of choice of each, starter, main and dessert. If you eat fairly large portions then you won't be disappointed, for us it was a bit too much and when we go next time we will ask for smaller portions so we can enjoy all three courses without being over indulgent. The staff were really hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. We had a drink in the conservatory which overlooked beautiful gardens at the rear of the property, next time we go it will have to be a time when we can take advantage of the gardens. All in all we had an evening to remember and would recommend this hotel to all.

Brilliant smaller hotel. Very cosy & friendly, excellent value, nice quiet room and best full English breakfast I've had in ages, we'll definitely return when over that way.

Great location, excellent service. We simply needed it as the place to sleep for a few hours and it for the job. Bed wasn't the most comfy and it was quite warm at night, but I'd still recommend it. Make sure to look out for the awesome stained glass!

This was our second visit to this lovely, friendly hotel. Spacious, comfy and clean rooms. Great location, 5-10 mins walk from the tram station, quiet and peaceful. Very good breakfast, excellent food served in the restaurant and varied bar menu — all very good value. Free Wi-Fi. Staff helpful and friendly — perfect.

Nice rooms, great bathroom. The grounds are gorgeous on a sunny day so we ate the breakfast outside. Standard hotel breakfast fair. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This was our 2nd visit to the Normanhurst and this time to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday. Everyone had a fantastic evening. The setting, food and service were 1st class. I highly recommend the Normanhurst.

Stayed here for 1 night, my room was ok, a bit on the small side, bed felt hard when I sat on it however it was very comfortable, breakfast was good, although they could do with using heat lamps as well as the chafing dishes — both my sausages were cold
Rooms are quite noisy as you can hear the guests in the next door rooms (I was in the extension) I like the fact that they allow dogs to stay — I'd definitely bring mine with me next time!

Good food in a very traditional hotel.

The room was clean, spacious and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Mattress was a little soft for me, but I like it firm. Large car park, but ask before hand if there's an event otherwise you'll be in trouble! Doors shut at midnight, so you have to use the rear entrance. Very friendly staff. Breakfast had dull English buffet.

Had a really great time here. The staff is very very very friendly, the metrolink station is within 10 minutes walk, there is a supermarket within 5 minutes walk. Free parking and free Wi-Fi — which is good but breaks up every once in a while. Great breakfast! If we ever come over here again we will definitly stay in this hotel again! Keep going like that — we will miss you all!

I had a fantastic meal today for my birthday. Service was fast and efficient but friendly. The food was exceptional. I would definitely recommend a meal here x.

Really nice building and lovely grounds to enjoy the summer in. Decent Wi-Fi too. The food is nice, if a bit expensive. It misses a star as it is a bit on the pricey side and there is no ale option at the bar.

Hotel very poor. I stayed in the hotel and found it dirty, smelly and everything is dated. The hotel is located in a nice environment but is in need of complete refurbishment.
