Stayed here last night and although they have every little touch in the room that you can imagine they have forgotten one fundamental thing, the family live directly above the bedrooms and the noise is terrible! Constant footsteps (they sound like a hurd of elephants) up and down up and down, honestly it’s kept me awake all night! You can even hear their microwave beeeping, children running up and down the stairs and at times they were bickering with one another (very loudly). I was surprised actually as on the booking form it stated ‘not suitable for children’ yet the owner is happy for the guests to be subjected to all the noise coming from the family upstairs. If you wish to live above the guests rooms then you need to make sure that the guests equally experience a god night sleep and the noise from above does not disturb. Owners, you need to address the noise issue or remove the option of staying in any rooms below your living area as this really isn’t fair on the person sleeping below. It was also very cold in the room and I only stumbled across an electric heater early hours of the morning when I got out of bed to try and turn the radiator on.
No longer run by the people on the website and certainly no longer a silver award worthy destination. Angie and Steve are nowhere to be seen (previous owners). DO NOT get the single room with private bathroom and toilet unless you like getting dressed in the middle of the night & walking down a corridor to go to the toilet. The main issue is the mish-mash rooms, you will struggle with the way they are laid out and to understand why they are set out the way they are (my room had seven light switches on the walls? ) They provide a free continental breakfast, which you will find is a few boxes of variety pack cereals, one multi pack yoghurt, a small bottle of orange juice and a jelly pot! Oh, and a one pint bottle of milk that's stored in what I can only imaging is one of the loudest refrigerators ever manufactured (constant fan buzzing). These are kept in either your bedside cabinet or wardrobe. The fridge WILL keep you awake at night and is also impossible to turn off as they are attached directly to a fused socket in the wall. A cooked English breakfast is available but you'll need to tell them you want one the day before as they buy it from the cafe over the road and bring it you. The menu offered is not actually what is on offer either. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean however, hence the 2 stars.
