I had a great stay here. Very clean, spacious, and a friendly hostel. Great location and transport links. Can't fault a thing, all facilities are spot on. Superficially, it is also nicely decorated and cosy.

The quality of the care, services, events, user-friendliness! after, the rooms, it's a hostel, it depends on your neighbors :) very good time for my part!

I've stayed here several times now. The first time was 3 years ago when it was my first hostel experience. Now, I live in the UK and when friends come to visit I always have them stay here, especially if it's their first hostel experience. I've stayed in both 4 and 6 bed co-ed rooms and have never had any problems. All the roommates I've ever had were fun and I usually ended up going out in the town with them or grabbing a drink at the bar. The communal kitchen is big, modern, and you can store your stuff there with no problems. The only thing I have to nit pick at is the pillows, they're horrendous. They're unbelievably thin, I always bring my own. The rest of the bedding is completely fine though! I've only stayed here in the months of March, September, or December (when it's cooler) so I can't speak on the lack of AC. But I can tell you the heaters work great!

This is a good place to stay. I was in a private room and it was very clean. Although it was the basics it was sufficient. I would stay again but preferably in another room as we were close to the tube and it was a bit noisy but this can't be helped. I wasn't a fan of the luggage room as it was not lockers so not as secure as I would like and I felt nervous about leaving my belongings there. Anyone was able to enter that stayed at the hostel to put their baggage in so something could of easily have been taken no one would have been any the wiser. Luckily though everything was fine. Apart from that issue I would definitely recommend this place. The atmosphere was good and staff were friendly and helpful.

My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights nights in an 8 bed coed dorm room with private bathroom. The hostel had really great and comfy beds (no curtains), a great lounge area, and it was in a great location close to the city and metro. I didn't always feel the safest at night walking, but no issues. The bathroom in our room was always tidy and we never had issues with showers and what not. I want to give 5 stars, but I have to deduct a star for check-in. I arrived an hour early and was asked to wait an hour — no biggie. After the hour, I was told the room still was not ready yet and I had to wait yet another hour for my key… Not impressed as they have a check-in time for a reason and nothing was offered to compensate for the extra hour spent waiting in their lobby.

The facilities are pretty top notch for a hostel. We had a great time meeting people down in the bar. What brought my review down a few stars is that we arrived at the hostel just after 1, and we were told check in wasn’t until 2. Fair enough. We had just arrived from Canada and we wanted to relax a little bit and shower, so we lounged in the lobby for… well over an hour. After 2 we kept checking in to see if our room was available, and we were being told they would let us know. FINALLY after 3pm my boyfriend went back to the desk to inquire about our room and we FINALLY got a key. We were sitting right beside the desk — if we didn’t keep asking, would anyone have told us a room was ready? So the service at check in was pretty disappointing as our first experience in London. Also, there is only one mirror in a 4 bed shared room, so if someone is in the shower there is no where to get ready. Other than that, it was a fine stay.

Excellent hostel. I did experience a pretty unfriendly check in. Australian guy with long hair, beard and a face piercing. He seemed like he was too cool for school and couldn't be assed. Worst staff member I've encountered out of all my travels… and that's saying something. Otherwise, I would have given this hostel 5 stars. Everyone else was nice.

Centrally located hostel. Clean room and bathroom, it is cleaned daily. Quick and hassle-free check-in. Staff friendly and helpful. In the basement there is a bar with a good selection of drinks. Breakfast can be added for 4, 90 pounds. In the immediate vicinity are several pubs, restaurants and a supermarket. London's East End (Brick Lane) is within walking distance.

The location is central, the rooms were large and the bathroom was good. Breakfast was nicodico. But the neighborhood is a little very meagre. All in all: Not quite as lean as I thought …

Stayed at wombats multiple times, always fast friendly service. Comfortable beds and secure lockers with key card entry which doubles as your locker key. Fantastic central location only 5 minutes walk from Tower Bridge and Tower Hill tube stop.

One of the best hotels concepts in Europe. You can't position and operate a hostel any better. The founders are Austrians from Vienna. My worship, you guys have it on it.

Good experience with Wombats. I didn't want to pay too much for one night in London so this was a very good alternative. Price/quality ratio is high. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was basic, but fresh and tasted well, it's worth the 4 or 5 pounds. Towels were included, which was good for me as I forgot one to bring. Location is overall very good (next tube station is a 10 minute walk and Tower Bridge about 15 min), but the neighboorhood is a bit trashy maybe. Cleanliness is very good (at least in the rooms) and I liked the fact that there is a private and big enough locker in the room.

We met wonderful people there (customers and staff). Rooms are very functional and there is plenty of services and space to rest in common areas. There is a canteen and a fully equipped kitchen downstairs. And the bar is amazing (great space, good drinks, nice bartender/maid/DJ, foosball/beer pong/ping pong/pool tables, …). Awesome place! :-)

Goods for 2 nights there and they are all thrilled.
Easy check-in, nice, clean rooms and nice, courteous staff. The breakfast was delicious and varied. In the basement there is a large kitchen next to the bar, which is freely accessible to everyone and if you still want to move after cooking, you go 2 meters further to the table kickers and the ping pong table.
Was positively surprised and would love to spend a night there again.

The hostel trusted as I have been there twice. The location is very close to the centre, with a bar, gym, relaxation area, room to hold your luggage when you don't have the room. Check-in is available 24/24. New and well kept furnishings, rooms with heating and private bathroom quite large.

Second best hostel I've ever stayed at, hands down. The rooms were clean, newly renovated, spacious and everyone had their own plug next to the bed for easy phone charging access. Private lockers for each bed were wonderful, price was great, and the pub downstairs was huge, cheap, and accessible. The only reason I rate it second best is because the first was the same but only cost me €5 a night and had their own airport shuttle (in Dublin). But considering this is London the prices were very really reasonable, especially for what you get. I felt totally safe.

Beautiful hostel run by great people. The rooms are big, clean and spacious. With big lockers for each guest. Each room has its bathroom:The shower is separated from the toilet in two separated rooms, which is great. I found water was not so hot as I expected, but it was not cold either. Wi-Fi is free and works very well in here. There is a bar in the ground floor with nice music and vibes: people having a drink, playing giant Jenga and having fun. The kitchen is pretty big with room for everybody to cook and save their food. I would definitely come back.

I spent one night here, and I have to say this was the best hostal I've ever stayed at and I've stayed in multiple hostels. What makes this such a great place to stay? 1: The staff are amazing and happy to help with anything. 2. The place is super clean and spacious. 3. Great showers 4. The bar area was a great place to meet people and had bar games. 5. It had quiet areas, in which you can chill out. 6. Good Wifi 7. A variety of breakfast options 8. Good location in London. 9. Lockers in the room were very high tech, you were given an electric keycard and everything. 10. It just had good vibes. It's hard to explain how good this place was, you just have to go and stay there. I only spent one night, but I will return soon. p. S You even get a free drink at the bar.

A great hostel. It's very international, with quite young people. The rooms are very spacious and clean. In winter, the heating is quite high, which makes you sleep beautifully. In the girls rooms The sink is separated from the toilet, which is very useful to be able to makeup/comb without hogging the whole bathroom. The bar area is very lively. Breakfast is worth it.

It was nice. Clean overall, but I can't give it perfect scores as my buddy spotted bedbugs on his bunk. That being said, they immediately changed us to a new room so they could clean it out and gave us tokens for laundry (and some drink tickets for the inconvenience). They took it very seriously, and if you've traveled much you understand it happens sometimes.

Very good hostel … Room clean breakfast can be booked to do so, also delicious and good choice … u train just 5 minutes away … Very quiet and in the "cellular" a few with multiple employment opportunities … Super all round.

Amazing place! Very cool and very cool the kids, both the reception and the bar. Would go back as many times as I can! And the blonde of the bar… Beautiful woman!

Awesome hostel! Massive bar area down stairs packed with games and good, reasonably priced drinks. Loads of atmosphere and extremely easy to meet other travellers. Rooms were comfortable, a chair would be helpful so you don't have to sit on the floor to up your shoes on. Beds were fairly sturdy and relatively quiet when moved in. The separate toilet/shower/basin is very handy in a dorm room. Staff were knowledge and extremely helpful. Security was top notch, multiple looked doors and key coded locker ensures your stuff is safe. Breakfast was good, although some hot food would make it better value. Very enjoyable stay! Can't wait to visit again.

Great, clean, friendly staff, and the basement bar is worth all the place: 3 pound beer, billiards, table tennis, beer pong, good music in the background. Recommended.

Wombat's London location is great, although there's still plenty of room for improvement. The location is less than 10 minutes from the Tower Tube Station and Tower of London. Check in was quick and professional, but lacking in the human touch that often comes with a hostel — perhaps it's too big for that. Additionally, there should be advanced warning of the requirement to leave a copy of photo id in exchange for the key card. Inside the entrance the reception is a relaxed lounge that invites guests to chill and read a book or catch online. Downstairs, the bar area provides another space for relaxing; although service doesn't start until 18:00. They don't serve food beyond chips/crisps and pizza, however there's a well-equipped kitchen for guest use. Breakfast is £4.50, although it's only a 'cold' breakfast: breads, cold cut meats, cheese, condiments for toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit salad, oranges, apples, veggies, and drinks. Rooms were clean and bright, with sturdy wooden bunks, each equipped with a personal power outlet (UK & 1 USB) and light. Toilet and shower facilities were attached to the dorm room. Towels are provided free of charge. Everything was kept suitability clean.

I love the wombats! Have been there several times now, offering everything I expect from a hostel. It's clean, in a "6 Persons — Room" it has its own shower, free Wi-Fi, with a USB cable I can charge my devices and do not need a travel adapter. The price is within the usual, well-affordable framework.

I had a great experience here, booked in 5 nights, decided on a whim to to to Barcelona, halfway through my stay, I gave then 24 hours notice full refund. Easy to deal with. Also rooms are clean, nice, nothing spectacular but no issues either. And convenient location, 10 min walk to the tube.

Great budget accomodation in a lovely Hostel, close to Tower Bridge and other attractions. Huge range of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The beds all have a personal light and charging point and all come with a personal locker for storage of belongings.

Great facility with unique environment. Offered free drinks coupons in their underground bar where you can meet with the locals for beer pong, ping pong, jenga, and other games or just kick it. Facilities were clean and secure, and the pricing was fair. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling alone or in a group!

Great location near all the main attractions, cool neighbourhoods and public transport. Well-equipped, tidy rooms, with their own very clean and fancy-for-a-hostel bathrooms (in my case — 6 bed mixed dorm), large secure lockers, and comfy bed. Common areas very cool. The only downside I think is that is feel very impersonal because it is so huge — 6 floors of rooms. It has more the ambiance of a hotel than a hostel.

Very clean hostel with spacious rooms. Check in and out was a breeze and the storage room was great as we headed out to explore after checking out. Location was great as it was less than a 10 min walk to Aldgate East station and an easy walk to many restaurants, markets and attractions.

Good location less than 10 minutes from the Tower and the Tube. Nice Indian restaurant down the street. Free towels and sheets, but no soap and shampoo. Awesome bar area. Pretty clean room.

This is a really nice hostel in a great area in the city of London. The rooms are a nice size and updated. Each bed has it's own light, shelf and outlet station. Towels are provided and the the beds are very comfortable. Each person gets their own large locker to store your stuff in which alleviates any stress about leaving valuables unattended. If you forget anything, it's likely that they'll have it available for you to borrow which helps when traveling light. One thing I wish I had known prior is that mirrors are limited. If possible, bring your own for getting ready!

Here is my recent review. Worth a read: The only good thing about this hostel was that it is clean and also the janitors and cleaners were great. The staff in customer and front desk are space cadets who only cared about youtube videos. Bad things…
— every 5am the fire alarm went off in room 008 ground floor. Woke all of us up 3 mornings in a row.
— rude staff. I told a Spanish staff member about it. He helped intially. Though when I complained again as it continued he asked me “What do you want me to do about it? ”
— the front lobby has all its windows opened at night. Meaning all the chain smokers who smoked after 10pm had smoke coming into the lobby. Meaning I had to passively smoke. I was sick and it just exacerbated my cough.
— looked like you guys were serving alcohol to 15 year olds. An Austrian traveller and I observed this in the bar.
— they didn't have a pub crawl available meaning that there didn't seem to be such a cohesiveness of people to make friends straight away. Their activities are very limited. In all honesty. I would rate this hostel in the negative 1 star if I had the choice. I have been travelling for 7 weeks and this hostel was the worst out of the 10 hostels I rated 4 stars and above. I and 2 other guys from Vancouver also said this. One Vancouver guy even cancelled his last night. And when he was asked why he told them. It was then met with hostility and this hipster look.

I liked this hostel a lot. I wish the kitchen got an upgrade though. One more fridge and better maintenance on the stoves would be nice. When I was visiting half of the stove tops and ovens didn't work making it quite difficult to cook with 10+ other people in the kitchen trying to do the same. I also wish they had a cheaper breakfast option of "Just coffee". In the morning it would have been great to have some coffee before leaving for the day but you had to pay 4.5 pounds to get a breakfast ticket to get anything from the breakfast kitchen area.

Very impressed with this place. Staff all friendly and willing to help, hostel is clean everywhere you go, and well equipped with everything you I'll need. Good lockers that only you can open, safe locks with key card.

Good location and friendly staff. The bar is also very nice and cheap and the perfect place to meet people if you are travelling alone. I had a single room for 2 people and we paid 50£ each per night so I'd expect to have at least shower gel in the room. Rather than that it was clean and nice. Recommended.

In my first time in London I had the luck to stay on Wombats! This was amazing and I recommend for everyone who wants a good stay in the City.

I stayed in the 8 bed dorm and from my experience this had been the cleanest hostel I've been to. There was a toilet, shower, and sink all within the room and the three things were all separated. Three people could use the facilities at one time. The Wi-Fi was fast and worked well in the rooms. The bar/kitchen area downstairs was really nice too; there was almost always someone there which was a great place to meet fellow travelers. I will be flying out from London on my two month Europe trip and I will book this hostel again for my last nights in Europe.

Great new facilities, comfortable beds, outlets at each bed, and en suite bathrooms make for a superb experience. The keyless lockers for each bed tied to the room key are a nice addition. The underground bar and lounge had a fun vibrant atmosphere and good prices on drinks.
