Nice place… I livved 16 plus times.

Staying at the thistle holborne hotel. Very friendly staff en great service. Beautiful rooms etc.

We had two bookings, one for March and another in June. Message from Thistle “we’re not managing that hotel any more and your reservations are cancelled”. We had stayed there many times before. They apparently took the computers and card readers, leaving the staff to cope as best they could. One of our bookings was pre-paid. Have I had a refund from Thistle? No! Customer service? They don’t know what it means! Would I trust booking with them? Would you?

Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough! We chose it because it was a few minutes from selfridges and the other clothing stores I wanted to visit… but we really got lucky with the Amba. It’s clean, friendly, quiet (considering its location) the staff were amazing and the breakfast was fantastic! My partner is fussy about breakfast’s and he loved it. Also, I’m not the greatest sleeper… but I had a brilliant nights sleep when I was there! The bed was comfy as hell and I didn’t want to get out. We have already said we will be booking there again when we go back!

I stayed at the thistle hotel Piccadilly Circus last night, absolutely lovely room, comfortable bed, great coffee machine, and quiet space. Was able to screen mirror my phone so was able to watch Netflix on tv Breakfast was good, very accommodating. I would stay there again, thank you for your hospitality.

We went for a steak meal through groupon. We paid £36.00 for steak chips n a bottle of wine for 2 people. Amazing value n lovely food.

Steak was lovely as was the pepper corn sauce. Nice warm atmosphere & the staff were absolutely lovely & incredibly helpful. Easy location to get to as well.

Lovely hotel, great for large meetings. Usually a bit of a queue for breakfast and not so good on bar snacks.

My associates and I chose Amba Hotel restaurant to have launch and discuss few things related to work… everything worked perfectly. The food was fresh and served just right on time. The staff were very attentive and polite. We love the experience so much that we will soon go again.

The hotel has the best location in London, I stayed there for 5 nights it was very nice and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in Marble Arch were you can enjoy shopping and so much to do. The tube station is just around the corner.

There is also a car rental place around the front of the hotel entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful as well as room clean and modern and comfy.

I am staying here for four nights. First night when I checked in my room it was smelly, like it has a stinky kind of smell. Luckily the manger changed me to another room. However, the shower has some problem and it didn’t have cold water at all! So we barely took a shower on first day… make a note to the hotel but it takes forever for the management to come take a look. Location wise the hotel is good, very convenient and closed to shopping district, have good buffet breakfast also. But overall, I don’t feel like it’s a four star hotel, it’s a merely 3.5 star hotel as is.

Beautiful and very clean. Staff was excellent and friendly. The bed was too comfortable. I didn't want to get up. The breakfast buffet was yummy and had something for everyone. Free daily in-room snacks (snack bar).

Phenomenal location. Great people working there. Very friendly and always smiling. Very popular with tourists. The breakfast buffet is very good… Busy but very good. Everyone from the doorman to the reception to the belldesk to the housekeeping to the staff at the restaurant is very happy to help.

Great location. Nice sized rooms. Mini bar is included with a few snacks, a couple beers, wine, and a couple sodas. They kept it full everyday. Breakfast was good, plenty of selection. We walked to all the major tourist destinations from this location plus the tube was just around the corner. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice hotel. The location, the food, the staff all was very good. Our London trip was excellent and the hotel was very comfortable. Room are nice and cozy and of course no doubt an excellent place to stay for a tourist. I was very happy with my family in London stay. Thank you Everyone for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Had a private lunch for 30 here. Fantastic, calm, professional and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Function food is usually dull, this was very tasty. Very reasonable price, better than I could find elsewhere in central London. 6th time I've booked there.

Really nice hotel, can easily miss it though as the entrance is kind of round the back. Nice bar area and lovely staff throughout. The bedroom corridors are a bit of a maze but the bedrooms themselves are really nice and so spacious for a London hotel! I had an upgraded room and the complimentary mini bar was fulfilled with cans of coke, chocolate, crisps and Flapjacks. The breakfast was lovely and lots to choose from!

We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was very comfortable, exactly what you need after a very busy day sightseeing and shopping. The staff were amazing. The extra cost of the executive suite with access to the Amba Lounge was well worth it. I’m already plotting an excuse to come and stay here again.

For anyone that's coming to London and wants a central hotel near Oxford Street, close to all the main shops, like Selfridges, John Lewis, House of Fraser etc then this is the hotel to stay at. The rooms are a very generous size, not too small like a lot of rooms in London, they have a great relaxed bar, and superb restaurant, serving full English breakfast, lunches and great British dinners. The staff are so friendly, we've been staying at the hotel for ten years and we can't fault anything the bedding and furnishings and bathroom etc are just perfect, they've just had a refurbishment and the hotel has been decorated to the highest standard.

Is for the second time I am choosing this hotel which is an excellent hotel, comfortable rooms, amazing staff and service from reception, restaurant, cleaning are amazing good and the Customer Relationship represents — Luiza which she made the best for me and my friends to have a memorial weekend in London to this very central situated hotel with all shops around. I will come back to this hotel any time and with pleasure.! I recommend this hotel to everyone who want high standards in quality and service, comfort and pleasure!

What an amazing hotel with luxury and wonderful staff. I have used this hotel for years and I keep coming back because of the people that work here. They are welcoming and pleasant and try their hardest to make sure you have a memorable stay.

Short walk from Marble Arch tube and bus routes. Concierge service. Have not stayed overnight so unable to comment on accommodation, however conference room facilities are very good as is the catering which is served in a spacious restaurant with comfortable seating. Nicely decorated and presented. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Love this hotel. The rooms are well sized, equipped and quiet. The staff are all amazing and out to please. Breakfast and bar meals also good quality and tasty.

My airline put me up at this hotel when my flight was cancelled due to snow. Very nice and helpful employees. Room was clean and stocked. The buffet was delicious. When I get back to London, I would like to stay again.

Stayed last Friday night with my sister and cousin. Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. Used the Executive Lounge which was a real treat as was celebrating my sister's Birthday. Breakfast Saturday morning was really great.

Spent great time. Was clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pretty spacious. Within 3 min walking distance to the main shopping street. They have costa coffee in the lobby which stays until late night. Over all a great experience. Highly recommended!

Go to Amba Hotel Marble Arch quiet regularly for drinks in the bar when wife goes shopping. Excellent and friendly service, great ambience, reasonably priced drinks. The best bar staff is Iurie, very nice guy.

Hotel in the middle of London with all the amenities.

Stay for two nights, central and very large, on arrival I can not enter the room and I find that the opening is controlled by electric batteries that have downloaded and must replace. Room and bathroom small, fairly manicured, inadequate windows with various noises due to wind, good breakfast, expensive.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can see them on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Attended for a work related conference. The hotel was easy to find and the staff were helpful. I got the tube to Bond Street and it was a quick walk down Oxford Street (about 5 to 10 minutes) to find the hotel. The conference facilities were comfortable and well organised, with generally decent catering, though some of the lunch was a little odd!

A bustling tourist based hotel. Service is courteous but slow. Hotel now feels like oriented to UK residents staying than visiting overseas tourists. That is of course totally fine and a good UK business, but it isn't the relaxing, slightly quaint place it was. It is also fairly expensive for small rooms. With this hotel location is everything as it is close to Harrods and Selfridge's. There's nothing actually wrong with it but with so many hotels to choose from, for the monkey I can choose differently next time.

Good hotel but should improve the reception.

Overpriced. The service was very good. The location is good. The restaurant is super expensive with just OK quality and basically just meat dishes with no creativity or much work involved. The reception's checkin process looks like buying at a supermarket, with cashier's card readers and all. The rooms are very basic for that price per night. There are much better and cheaper hotels in London.

Had an amazing time in London. Having a great hotel to come back to is very important. Car parking facilities next door. From check in to check out our trip was made all the better for the hospitality of the Amba. All staff greeting us as we walked by them. Clean rooms excellent facilities and breakfast was wonderful. I challenge anyone not to find something they could eat. A very special time for us made even more special by the Amba. Thank you everyone. Definitely staying here if we return. X.

Nice hotel. It's located at a prime, busy area of London, so expect it to be a little crowded. I have only had English breakfast there, which was good, so I can't comment on the general restaurant situation. They have friendly staff who are willing to help you with whatever you may need. Unfortunately the reception used to take really long to pick up our calls from the room!

Not quite a review but more of a fast question. After looking at all the reviews we have decided to stay at the Ambra in the near future and like the Executive King Room as the room most suitable to us.
Advertised as having access to the lounge with free breakfast but there is also an option to purchase breakfast in the Breakfast room (? ) for extra fee. Can anyone tell me what food is available in the Ambra Lounge for Breakfast? Would asking for a room facing Oxford Street be noisy? Thanks.

Good hotel in London center. Renovated. Rich breakfast. We had deluxe modern room, spacious 23m2, but the bathroom is very small. Concierge service was poor. Room service poor. Elevators, long wait. Two of 4 were out of order. Lightning in room is too modern, all shut, all on, with no personal spot light at bedside. Friendly staff. All together: AMBA should improve.

Spigne na figure especially for location and room, very spacious. Service Decristo, perfect, however tickets I know arrived a day after the planned.

We got a really good meal deal through Travelzoo. The food and wine were great. It wasn't busy so we could choose where to sit and we were not hurried by staff. The place (including toilets) was very clean too.

Went there for afternoon tea. The dining area was beautiful, serene and had a wonderful view. The staff were very nice and professional. There was so a grand assortment of things to choose from and it was all just delicious. Wonder ambiance and it really sophisticated. Good place for a girls' day out or a romantic date.

We had a meal at the restaurant. We were a group of 7 people. The waiter was attentive taking our orders and ensuring we had all our drinks. The menu was very good and the haddock fish cakes for the starter was excellent. The lamb steak was good but rather too rare for me although I had asked for medium. The salad the other guests had were enormous and were taken home in doggy bags. There was a slight confusion. Over the ordering of the meal and it was sorted quickly. We had to ask for a dessert menu as it was not offered. My full. Glass of wine was nearly cleared away by an over efficient waiter. It was a pleasant place to go but not sure whether I would visit there again.

Amazing staff, on arrival we were upgraded to a deluxe suite and given the option of breakfast and room service on 'behalf of the manager' according to staff members. The upgrade was simply amazing. My uncle and I came down to London for both a seminar, business/network meetings as well as tourism reasons and the Amba so far have satisfied all our needs. Room service are brilliant, the beds are beautifully made and complimentary mini-bar topped it all. I cannot fault it.
Thank you for being so accommodating, I will definitely be staying with you again upon my next commute. Though next time maybe a girls holiday will be on the cards. The only problem we are currently having is with the iPad in our room which will not seem to get past the set up stage? This isn't a fundamental issue to us as it is obviously complimentary however being on offer I thought it worth mentioning.
Thank you once again for being so accommodating already, we simply cannot wait for the bistro!

Attended a conference at the Amba Hotel yesterday and I must say I was very impressed, the staff were very helpfull and extremely polite. The breakfast and buffet and lunch was very well presented and it provided something for everyone. Would without doubt recommend it to anyone booking a conference.

Great breakfast, small rooms but very cared for in every aspect. The staff is courteous.
Only drawbacks found:
Only two lifts for an 8-storey hotel
Room found dirty for a disservice (apologized with a pack of chocolates)

In the area, for the cost. It doesn't get much better. Staff are always happy to see you. Food in the restaurant is of a high quality. Rooms are ample with a free mini bar full of snacks. Shower is excellent and really don't have a bad word to say.

Rooms for the functions were adequate size. Bar staff were friendly. Decor was reasonable. Excellent hotel for functions.

The hotel has been great so far. They let us check in early and store our bags all day. We got two adjacent, connected rooms for the family. The breakfast was wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

The matress is very bad, worst sleep in my life. It's even worst than my 6 years old mattress that I suffer from. The room was so dusty. Towels are smelly. The 2 stars is only for the location and the price.

Stayed over bank holiday weekend. Great touches with the gift of mini eggs on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Very spacious room, complimentary mini bar a good touch and English Beer is always a plus! Grill was excellent and a good range of options across the family from a Spanish tasting platter to omelette and chips. Staff were excellent.

When names were called Thistle Hotel before, I lived a lot, and found the name had changed a little bit nervous at first. But stepping into the hotel, fears soon vanished. Staff were very attentive, a warm welcome to my arrival lobby, new and easy smooth check in formalities. After the finished procedure, came to the House, found the new place iPad, mini bar with complimentary snacks and soft drinks, extra points. Went to use the conference rooms for a business meeting. Facilities are pretty good although they should provide more options for connecting to the projector (they charged extra for the loan of a cable). Service was friendly. Food was too heavily biased toward sweet snacks.

Great food, comfortable rooms, well equipped. The breakfast concierge was a little disorganised organised but as an experience it was great. Comfortable, well priced, the staff are very acomodating. I will use this hotel again (over the hilton near by)

Arrived after a long flight, got upgraded at no cost and the room is great! Newly renovated, spacious, windows all have views onto the main streets. Breakfast was good. Definitively a cut above the average business hotel I've stayed in.

A gorgeous Hotel. Long, lonely corridors but you know you aren't very far away from the extremely friendly staff, who are always at your beck and call! The people are so very friendly here in London. The Bar and Restaurants are superb. The service is excellent. I exited the elevator every mornibng to see a beautiful Hotel Rep, wishing me "Good Morning. " VIP service on the 2nd floor private B-Fast Room. Eggs, Bangers, mushrooms, coffee, plenty of juice and table service provided by a lovely receptionist. I cannot rate this Hotel over 5 stars! I loved my stay here.

A great hotel in an excellent location for central London, This was our third staythere but at the end of our staywe were very disappointed! On sunday 30th Nov we made queries with the concierge about a taxi for next day to take us to Gatwick airport and he told us it will cost us 70 sterling. About 10 pm that same daywe went to the desk to book our taxi, and thistme another concierge that was duty told us that it would cost us 100 sterling! we did not book from the hotel but booked online and it cost us just 55sterling, we left the hotel feeling let down and on a very bad note.

After the changes that have been done for the rooms and halls this hotel is fit for a 5 star rating. Highly recommend.

Great location. Cannot fault that. But long corridor walks to get to lift area was bit of showdown.

Put here on company business. Dark dingy lobby \ bar area. Room was extremely dated carpet very worn and wallpaper pealing off. Breakfast was comically poor, I've eaten better food in an army mess. Overall avoid.

After a long long flight across the pond, I was greeted with delight and the good folks at the Thistle Marble assured me of a jolly good time. They were correct. The food was above excellent. When I asked for Gluten free food they tripped over each other trying to help me.

I stayed in this hotel for a week in February. The hotel is located on Oxford St (Primark) is a great location. However, the price, quality in this hotel was very bad. The breakfast was full of food, that we could eat, as it was not also British (sausage, ham) no vegetables at all. In addition, the room was OK but not great, Esepcially when taken into account the price we had to pay for it. A lot of people from the Middle East contain the population in the hotel.
