Reviews of The Pride of Paddington 2*
Good pint, friendly + helpful staff, plus the food looked nice that was being served to other customers.
Friendly Staff & a Good Pint. What more could you ask for? 🍺👍
Excellent atmosphere for two ladies wanting a catch up. Great bar staff… friendly and professional.
Nice food and friendly staff.
One of the best places in which I have eaten, with a friendly atmosphere and kind staff. I'm Italian and I still remember the chili I ate in 2014: the best!
Amazing place great environment really friendly great food n banter.
Super friendly staff and great atmosphere.
The staff were excellent and the service was great a credit to the company /brewery. And the beer, cocktails were OK as well.
I really enjoyed the fish and chips.
Does not response to any contact when a refund was promised, do not order from the app, the staff ask you to cancel it and order again via the bar, and never refund the app order! And then you can never get hold of them. The app refund should take 5 working day, but here I am 8 working days without a refund and no response and awaiting a substantial food and drink order refund.
Friendly welcome with good food and drink.
Very bad. Not recomended.
Shitehole bad staff no atmosphere.
Friendly and fast service, good food, good selection of beers.
Great lunch. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
Friendly staff always a bonus when the boss is a northern Irish man.
You'd expect a pub across the street from a major train station to be kitschy-touristy, but the Pride of Paddington is really authentic, with great pub food, a nice selection of beers on tap, friendly service, and super pub vibe!
Charming staff. The food was outstanding. The casual and friendly atmosphere endearing.
Popped in for quick bite… Really nice food. Good value… Vast menu… Good choice of gins… Drinks reasonably priced… Conveniently located near Paddington Station.
Homely atmosphere, welcoming staff and great food. Massive portions! Will return.
One of the best places in Paddington… good food, drinks, friendly staff.
Clean glasses would be a start and with staff that weren't rude when you ask for a clean one. Also gave double drinks without us as asking for them, and when you question why your drinks are £32 for 4 drinks and the bar tender moans about you asking not vwry good customer service at all. Would I recommend NO…
Our first day in London, right outside Paddington station, my wife had a burger and I had the Fish and chips. It was excellent. The fish was a huge portion and cooked perfectly. It was a great first taste of London.
Great food and service with friendly atmosphere.
Food was very good and staff lovely! ☆☆☆☆
Central. Nice food. Good range of drink and friendly staff. Shame I couldn't stay longer but I had a train to catch.
Wonderful location. Large portion and the staff know their beer.
As we thought it will be like a weatherspoon but no big portions but basic pub but the prices was extortionate on top of that charged us service charge! saw us coming thought we are tourist. Kid's didn't even ate so no won't go there again.
I had the fish & chips and it was spectacular, served with a beer that was a perfect match. Will definitely go again.
The moment you enter, you feel welcomed. Staff are friendly, attentive and prompt in taking orders aas well as delivering food. Decent food. Limited beer brands available, but the ones available are good quality. Nice selection of spirits!
Stayed at the hostel and it was so nice, the room Is en suite, plenty of space to move around, lockers, a refrig, microwave, flowers outside our window with view of the busy london life. Staff friendly And helpful. We'll come back again. Oh and the pub food is great also.
Highly recommend! Fabulous food and fabulous service!
This place is amazing. Real great food. Staff is very friendly. Quick as well. Good place for kiddos too.
In my life this pub is legendary. The Pride is always where I go before getting the train home from London even if it happens to be early in the day. Been here at 11am or 10pm it is the same. Busy full of people from everywhere all the time. Never quiet but always dishing out what looks like amazing fish and chips and other food. One day I will try those fish and chips. A great pub. Always thriving.
Great place for the tired traveler to grab a bite. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu consists of standard English pub dishes, fish and chips, and beef pies. The portions are very large and filling and the prices are reasonable. I had the chicken parmigiana it was delicious and very filling.
Nice pub. Had fish and chips for lunch. Batter on fish was rock hard and burnt with very little fish inside. £30 for 2 portions when most good restaurants are cheaper. Loved London and have never left a review of any kind. But felt I had to on this occasion.
Fantastic pub just minutes from Paddington Station. Hotel/airbnb on top of the pub gets you free breakfast in the pub too. The pub has outdoor seating which is what earns it 4 stars!
A good traditional British pub. I'm happy to try the fish'chips. A big portion! Delicious fish. Took on the advice of a waitress British beer to the dish. I didn't regret it. Everything was delicious. )
Nice place, shame that one had the impression to annoy one of the two waitresses.
Favourite pub in London. It’s serves all the classics in their traditional form. I’m a great location right across from the tube/rail station.
Room Perfect as location, good beers but not exceptional as well as food. Location.
If had a choice would give this a zero star. Staff are unprofessional, selfish and rude and customer service is appalling. Even the Manageress has no people skills.
Easy to walk to from the train station. Nice place for a quick stop if you just have a couple hour lay over at Heathrow. Just jump on the Express and a 5 min walk from Paddington station. Good fish n chips.
The best beer in the area, well accompanied by nibbles.
Good food, copious and beautiful setting a good English pub.
Absolutely loved it. I stayed one night in the hotel above the bar and so I ate my breakfast there. It is gorgeous small bar, beautifully decorated with various flags/money bills etc. The food was good and the portion was definitely big. The staff polite and nice. When I visit London I'll definitely have a beer there, especially that it's so close to Paddington Station, just a few minutes walk away.
Long wait before being taken care of
Sunday roast with good vegetables.
Disappointing. The fries included in the dish have never arrived although we have claimed several times, the special brunch (a variant of the English breakfast) is one of the least good I have eaten and the service is endless.
Traditional British pub, attentive staff, tasty burgers and excellent beer.
Typical English pub, very well decorated. With all kinds of drink and good music. They offer a very natural and well prepared food service at very competitive prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. During the day you can go with children and at night the atmosphere is very quiet. We have enjoyed trying many dishes of the menu and have surprised us its good presentation and good taste, everything is made with very natural products and very well combined. They have a wide range of beers from a lot of typical European beers, larger, to a wide variety of typical English beers, ale. Which let you taste.
Typical English pub with a lot of variety of beers, good affordable food to be London. Very good atmosphere of both clients and workers. Good treatment and good music of all styles, pub with good decoration and people of all styles.
I recommend to try it, great brewery, quiet environment, I have been a couple of evenings for a drink and one morning at breakfast for English breakfast and it is really to try.
Inside the room there is also a reception of ' Otello which I think is upstairs, frequented by young students.
Very tasty but expensive. Nice staff and friendly atmosphere.
A very mixed bunch of customers. Warm and friendly atmosphere. We didn't try the food, but it did look very good.
Classic British pubs, rivers of beer of excellent standard, good food and friendliness. Recommended!
They always have a promo beer at 3 pounds a pint, which makes it possible to try beer at a good price (to be London). Televisions to see the rugby and offers of food in days of special matches. Not bad.
Upsides — full of international families, hostel attached, good for station. Downsides — doesn't feel like a pub any more. Flags hanging from every surface, it's a hostel bar/diner I suppose. I mean, for what it is, the many international families seemed quite happy with the experience, so who am I to judge, but for me the atmosphere was a bit hollow and busy. Your mileage may vary, but it's not a pub any more.
One of the best pubs in all of London! As in London, the selection of beers is very diverse and leaves absolutely no wishes. Also the food is absolutely recommended and tastes very good! Very good location.
Very nice place. Lots of beer variety good atmosphere and well the food.
Recommended and reasonably priced. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Cute as an original English pub but you also eat well.
Good place for a burger and a beer. A few meters from Paddington station London.
They forgot about us and took an awful lot bringing the breakfast. The juice, of Tetrabrik, the sad bacon, the croissants are industrial bakery and I have seen stones more soft than these croissants. The bathrooms could be better. The service a disaster in general.
Amburgher Super Even the fries to scream, good also the sweet fries. Very good Scottish beer. To try.
A good pub and hostel within walking distance of Paddington railway station. The pub was good with a wide selection of Drinks and decent food. The hostel was good with beds at a decent price. The rooms where warm, had lockers and comfy beds. Plenty of power sockets for charging phones/laptops and there was a free english breakfast in the morning. Great hostel.
Nice and friendly pub. Prices are OK, food tastes good. You can go.
Very very good pub, good ambiance.
Is not really cozy… the tables are arranged like in a eat as much as you can in Soho. But after a few pints it doesn't matter;-)
A typical English pub in a great area, located in the heart of Paddington, right in front of the Paddington train and underground station. Also facing the Paddington Hilton hotel. Friendly staff and quick service. Tried their fish and chips, and it was good. Would definitely visit again if in the area or travelling from Paddington station.
Pub, also for breakfast! Big Daddy!
This pub is central as you like and ticks all the British Pub tickboxes to some degree. Great staff, good range of beers and ale, and pretty darn alright gasto style food too. It is slightly expensive and full of tourists, but it's a really charming vibe, worth your patronage.
Typical English pub.
The focal point for American football fans from Germany. At the London Games.
Very friendly staff. Good food. Great for pre and post train journeys from Paddington.
Good food — looking for a place to eat before catching the train with my little niece. We liked the menu, varied and not overly expensive to be London.
One of the best pubs in Paddington!
Nice pub close to the station. Ideal place to get a drink while waiting for a train. Staff were very helpful.
Loved it! Good location, comfortable beds, and good breakfast. The prices were pretty reasonable too.
Great service, atmosphere and food. This became our go-to place while visiting London. The staff was friendly and efficient. They welcomed us each time we went and it was sheer joy to have a comfort food place amongst the plethora of Indian restaurants. It's located right across the street from Paddington Station and within walking distance of the Lancaster London. I highly recommend this pub!
Simple pub grub and a decent number of beers on tap as you'd expect. Very close to Paddington and has a departure board in the bar which was very handy. Good for a quick stop.
Great food. Great beer. I had my first taste of Beef & Ale Pie there. It was fantastic! We are from the US traveling around Europe. This was our first stop for food in England. It was great!
Super Breakfast for a super price! Were there several times for Breakfast and once for "dinner". Nice Staff! You always get a place even if you sometimes have to wait a bit.
I ate the most tender meat that I could expect! Delicious pastries. Professional and courteous service.
Great atmosphere, good selection of beers, and good food!
This is a pretty decent and busy pub that is definitely the best in the immediate environs of Paddington station. There are a good selection of drinks and the meals are well cooked. Prices are a little on the high side for what you're getting and they have now banned vaping — meaning you have to sit in clouds of cigarette smoke outside. It gets really busy which, with it's spot near to the station means that pick pockets are rife.
The bar place is nice and traditional. Different beers, lots of space, good atmosphere. The food is okay, basic English dishes. The service is good. Hotel I can not review since I was only in the bar.
I used to like this place when you were allowed to vape in it but, since then, I've had to go elsewhere. Certainly the best pub within spitting distance of Paddington Station, it's a good litmus test as to whether the trains are running on time or not. Plenty of good hooch and the food is good quality too. Keep and eye on your belongings though, there is a bit of a pick-pocket problem.
Location is great as was the service. However, guests were allowed to check in at 3am drunk off their faces while being very loud. Also, the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the toilets were horrible.
Friendly people, cold good beer, fantastic food and breakfast — Hab ich geliebt!
A great pub rock trend with that music, frame and quiet atmosphere, a true English pub that might get dressed a lot of french Bistro! The kitchen and really good no complaints!
If you go through paddington stopped you!
Good food, fast and friendly service only expensive prices. Good experience, recommended.
Nice friendly staff. Well maintained decor. Should improve on cleaning. The food is reasonably priced and good in quality.
Very delicious, typical English food. Also, the beer is worth a visit.
I would give it three stars, but you can't beat the price, so I do 4. Sleep with a complimentary breakfast in London with 41 pounds is a great price. The property is well kept, clean bathrooms. Friendly staff, there is also a bartender/front desk receptionist italiana.
The defects are undoubtedly slow Wi-Fi. Too slow, about 1.2Mbps. Breakfast good but not very substantial, even if you choose the full english breakfast standing up a bit hungry.
GRIND
Neither the showers of my plan works. Both jammed. 3 stars.
In London for the Rugby World Cup. Excellent atmosphere, good drink selection. Excellent staff. Heart breaking beautiful Argentinian medical student bar maid. Ciao.
Friendly staff, good range of beers and the food is pretty good. Haven't tried them yet but the food challenges look interesting!
Exudes London atmosphere … my Burger was great and my husband says the same beer … we will be back …
I was in London between September and October 2015. At the time the Rugby World Cup was on and I thought the Pride of Paddington had a good atmosphere and was well decorated. We only had drinks here and did not eat as we thought the meals were a little expensive However, I did enjoy stopping here for a drink.
Very nice English full breakfast!
A nice place for a pint of beer or cider. Not good for a glass of champagne. The service was very nice.
Nice pub. Great fish and chips. Fast service.
This is a fairly average pub, and certainly a significant part of the clientele are vaguely confused tourists coming out of Paddington station in need of food and booze. Still, cask ales are well maintained and it is fairly reasonably priced, though I haven't had a food so couldn't comment on the quality.
Not a impressive pub but good for a beer after work and returning to the hotel.
Hearty English breakfasts!
Great fish n chips and bangers n mash. A little more pricey than the other restaurants in paddington but the portions were huge so worth the money. Didnt like the ale. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Proper beer, but mediocre food.
Don't go into this pub for any reason! There is much chance of being robbed!
Don't go to this pub for no reason! you could be robbed like some who come to the hotel to complain.
Great food, friendly staff, great beer. Good that they did not ask for id, because me and my friends who were there are 17.
I love the staff food atmosphere perfect way to end a stressful week.
Great place, great food and great service. Enjoy one of the best fish and chips I can remember and feel at home thanks to its waitresses and waiters.
My girlfriend and I just recently visited the pub on our English travels and enjoyed it so much. Great beer and great service, the ladies behind the bar were so friendly, helpful and we always willing for a chat we are defs recommending this pub to our Australian friends and family.
Fairly recently refurbished with an OK atmosphere, however the table layout makes it too cramped and you're always in somebody's way. Convenient when working in the area and for Paddington station, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
Nice clean spacious pub with a good range of food, not all of which is available! Staff universally friendly. Discretionary 12.5% service charge felt odd for a pub. Boo.
Poor service, staff didnt understand what kind of coffee I wanted and the full English breakfast was dreadful. Cold, bland and everything tasted readymade. Didnt ask us how we wanted our egg (not eggs, egg! ) cooked. Small portions as well. Small, unclean bathrooms. They screwed up the bill as well.
A nice little pub, just round the corner from Paddington station. The food and beer are both much better, and cheaper, than the more standard chain restaurants closer to the station. It gets busy, so you may have to wait a while to get a table.
Good place to sleep cheap, refurbished, very clean. This quite well connected by metro, bus, and even foot Center is not too far.
The breakfast is served in the pub and is very full and varied, part pub is a magnificent place to eat and drink, but a little expensive.
