Enjoyable pub to visit in a quiet area of Islington with. Friendly Landlord recommendation for get together with friends&family. Definitely a great size for any birthday celebrations.

We stayed at the Cuckoo last month on our vacation and were instantly smitten. A comfortable, spotless, and cozy room, great pizza, and an amazing, scenic, friendly, and very walkable neighborhood. I definitely want to single Gio out specifically… the Cuckoo couldn't ask for a better ambassador. We were clueless Americans and Gio had lucid and incisive answers for our many, many questions. The man also prepares a STOUT Screwdriver. We've missed Islington every day since we've been home and the Cuckoo is a big part of why.

We stayed in the suite and it was lovely and spacious with big windows & comfortable bed. A complimentary basket of snacks was included along with a box of chocolates for our Wedding Anniversary. The room also includes a Tassimo machine. Friendly staff, 10% or 20% off drinks depending on time. Amazing cocktails! Very good value for money considering you would pay more for a room at the Travel Lodge. Great location. We went to see a Backyard Cinema show at the Union Chapel which was only a 10 minute walk away. We traveled from Waterloo and done the following route — Jubilee to Green Park then the Victoria Line to Highbury & Islington. Then overground to Caledonian & Barnsbury. We used contactless payment as it was easier & journey was only £2.40. Then about a 5 minute walk to hotel. The room does not include breakfast, however their is a Cafe called Sunday only a short walk but be warned people were queuing outside by 9.30am so we couldn’t go in. It must be good! Would definitely recommend!

Stunning rooms and finished to a remarkably high standard. The bar is convenient and not at all noisy, and the whole building is in a very quiet suburb with good neighbours. A real find!

Great hotel very clean, hotel staff friendly and always helpful. 10 minutes walk to Caledonian Underground. The neighborhood is very quiet. Recommended!

Beautiful pub, looked after by Denise who is amazing. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a London stopover in one of the lovely rooms above.

Lovely local pub with very friendly staff, great atmosphere and delicious pizza. Dangerously close to us! We will be back soon.

The family room is nice to go with kids, very clean and all new, has a very large bed and bunk beds in an adjoining room, the hotel is very close to downtown, and just five minutes by bus from St. Pancras Station.
The downside is that there is no 24 hour reception, the owner is only when the downstairs bar is open and it is a shame that he does not speak any Spanish. The rooms were cold because the radiators didn't heat up.

They had a sweet pug… The service is good but could really work on the atmosphere and look.

Such a lovely place! Warm and welcoming owners, newly refurbished room and even free popcorn and fondue… mmm!

Obviously the building has been a pub forever, but it must have been gutted and refurbished in recent years to produce the modern interior. The barman was very friendly and efficient and they have a good selection of beers. It's clearly popular with locals. They specialise in pizzas, which are available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening and Saturday lunchtime.

Very nice place with amazing staff and a good selection of drinks. The hotel rooms look super cosy and I would definitely recommend them. Great job!

Went to the Cuckoo last night and had the most amazing Malaysian food. Well worth a visit!

Amazing brunch at The Cuckoo today, if you haven't tried Iraqi cuisine get down there now — mouth wateringly delicious, never had such a tasty egg and bacon with a subtle twist!
