St Christopher's Greenwich Hostel

Very nice hostel, friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms and great location. Good price for a great stay! I spent two nights there this summer. The first night in the ladies dorm and the second in a single room. Both were clean with good beds. Breakfast was nice and well organized. Good coffee too by the way. Very important in the morning ;)

If you want to sleep, look elsewhere. If you want working toilets, this might not be for you either. If you are used to normal temperatures at night, you won't be happy in their 2nd floor rooms. If you like to feel the base from the bar downstairs in your bed until late at night while sweating in the free sauna aka your dorm, then by all means, go book this gem! The breakfast is great, it's fairly clean, the three-level bunk beds have curtains and outlets, and the filthy common room in the basement does have a microwave, but no cutlery. 2 stars because it is cheap.

Great hostel at a great price friendly helpful staff, clean bed sheets, free ear plugs. Great food and bar. No towels included but rentable at a reasonable price.

if you're looking for 5 star hotel go to Hilton, this is a proper hostel with great staff, nice vibes and great location.
if somebody is paying for you, like the spoiled girl before me…, then go to the Ritz in Piccadilly.
If you're looking for nice and easy going people in great location…, this is the place!

Above a pub that closss at 2am and ppl leave at 2, 30 expect no sleep at all very noisy do not go there, might refuse ID and no refund.

Its nice but too noisy at night, I coud hear de bum bum from the bar till… But after all so good so happy And very close in time spending to the town centre. 25% discount on anything even alcohol if u staying in, witch is great.! Definitely I'm gonna be back if needed to go to London again. See you there guys.

Do not listen to everyone else saying “You get what you pay for” because I’ve found and stayed in cheaper hostels with better service and greater amenities than this one. I am a college student so I know what it means to be on a budget but do NOT SETTLE for this hostel! It looks nothing like the pictures and the bathrooms are never cleaned properly. There was pee in the corner of the shower for FOUR days straight, although they “clean” everyday. It’s NOT free breakfast! You have to pay for it and the food is disgusting. The drinks were a cool deal and the karaoke nights were fun but that doesn’t make up for everything else about the hostel itself. It’s a bunch of young people working he Bar and the trying to play housekeeping in the day. The rooms are so small and so cold with no heater or A/C in the rooms so I can only imagine what it’s like in there on a hot summer day and the lockers to keep your stuff with you in your room are nothing like other lockers at BETTER HOSTELS! DO NOT SETTLE HERE! You’ve been warned!

As much as I loved it x They could provide a kettle in the privit rooms x.

It is an excellent hostel, has the best service, a great atmosphere since at night there are events, the houses are super private because although the room can have up to 12 beds that are bunks of 3 you go per bunk, each space has its curtains so yes there is no light on It enters and you have enough privacy, this super central and close to the University of Greenwich and its center besides that next to it is the train station and in front the bus stop, the best hostel in which you could be.

Ok for a quick drink, well located to the Travelodge in Greenwich high ztreet.

Great facilities very clean and great staff. Great location right next to train station too. Belushi's was really good food was good and a great atmosphere. Altogether not what I was expecting so pleasantly surprised. Noise from the bar… that's what the free ear plugs are for.

Lovely staff and great little pub with dj at weekend. Very basic hostel in good location albeit really noisy til about 3/4am. You get what you pay for tho.

Awesome hostel. Free washing and ironing, good rooms, and free breakfast is pretty good. One of the better St christopher's inns I've stayed in.

The only real negative was the showers. The staff are friendly, the food was good, the beer was cheap and the location was supreme.

Checking in was fine, I was told I could come and go as there was a 24 hour door. I came back not too late to people still in the bar. I assumed the bar was still open so I went to order a drink and the bar tender told me firmly it was shut. Puzzled I asked why the other people were still getting served and she told me they were staff, go talk to manager and “are you even staying here” I found her to be quite rude as she could have just said it was a Christmas staff party.
The manager got up, followed me and accused me of swearing. I felt very uncomfortable and have never felt so unwelcome in a hostel before. I got my bag and found another place to stay at midnight. I felt his behaviour was unnecessary and extremely rude, wouldn’t advise to stay here.

Very good place and As I am an usual guest at all saint Cristopher's I could say the staff here is amazing expecially the bartender, Chance I think his name is, he helped me pointing in the surrounding and helped me pointing where I could buy some medication.

There is no kitchen at this hostel, there is no where to hang your clothing or put your things when you go to use the showers so you have to put your things on the floor, showers are push button meaning you get 15 seconds of luke warm water. No where to open your bag in the room or hang your coat there either. Cobwebs in every corner, every hinge in the place creaks insanely loud! Woke me up all night from doors in the hall. It takes 15 seconds to lube a squeeky hinge. The chill out rooms smells like a moist fart. Breakfast was not included like every other hostel. Location was okay hence one of the two stars. Close to the Naval College but no where near Londons main attractions. I wouldn't recommend this hostel. Second star was because the staff were great. But the hostel itself was a small step up from a homeless shelter… A very very small step. Actually some homeless shelters have places to hang your coat… Spend the extra few pounds and go somewhere nicer. Sorry St. Christopher's not impressed.

Friendly staff, bathrooms and showers were large and clean. Located in Greenwich near the market, great location! The hostel is connected to a bar which is great for discounted beer and food. Just make sure you have your earplugs at night as the bar gets pretty rowdy until the early morning.

The hostel is definitely the right place to stay if you visit London for a few nights. You are a little outside of the city center but Greenwich is like a village of its own and has so many little things to do. You are right next the overground station which is great and the place was very clean.

Small hostel but quite comfortable. A little noisy on the weekend.

Top destination for backpackers. Friendly and quality staff always available. Chillout room with plenty of dvd and books. Microwave, kettle, fridge and tables and couches all around make the room look like even more than just for chilling! Breakfast of the champion and discount on food and drinks a plus! Sport on TV in each corner of the pub at the ground floor. Washing machine and dryer are free to use. Bus stop and dlr station just beside. Actually you will not find a cheaper destination with so many comforts anywhere in London. A++ and Five golden stars.

Very happy with it as a hostel. Like the food discounts you get when staying. Beds could be longer. They're a bit short for the taller guy.

PROS: This was my first stay at a St. Christopher's Inn. The staff who assisted me was new so check in took a little longer but service was very friendly at checkout as well. The room was clean, though a bit warm due to no air cooling system. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. Breakfast seemed basic but decent. The bar offers lunch and dinner options. CONS: The pub downstairs wants badly to be a bar, hence the loud music late at night. If you are a light sleeper you may have trouble here. There isn't much in the area apart from a couple of pubs and Sainsbury's. Breakfast was nearly 100% gluten so if you're intolerant or celiac, you will have problems finding edible food other than fruit.

Great hostel. Free washing machine and drier and priced well. Will definitely stay again.

Close rooms. There was no air conditioning (the room was very hot). The old building. This is a bar + overnight. Breakfast for an extra fee (sandwiches + juice, coffee, cereal). It's only through the backyard. There may not be any free places in the bar T. It is open to all visitors from the street. The cupboards for the things are small, you have to pay for the lock. The towels should be yours.

Good hostel for the price too. They have Wifi, 3£ unlimited breakfast, and good sheets. They don't have air conditioning and it got way too hot though.

It is not just a budget hotel. St Christopher's Inn is a warm and friendly place to unwind. Members of staff are kind and very customer friendly, although they could have employed more staff. Most of all, the bed sheets are clean and the rooms are clean. There are sufficient toilets and shower rooms. For a reasonably priced backpacking, this is the place where you need to go.

After a tiring journey by bus up from Scotland. They would not take my booking because I didn't have id. First ive came across this. Had to cut my stay short. Not happy. Maybe it should be made a bit clearer, when booking that you need id.

Very good hostel. Great atmosphere, quite clean. Only downside is no kitchen facilities.

Great location, good atmosphere, breakfast was a bit of a let down but other than that it was perfect.

It is more like 3 and half, out of 5… thought about giving 4, but breakfast let it down.
The pub and food is great, staff friendly, and the Cajun chicken burger and chips were great and good value.
At the end of the day, I know it's a hostel, and the overnight cost of staying here is great value, but it's the little things, the pillow is no thicker than a flannel you was your face with, so had a restless night, hey I like a good pillow.
Breakfast sounded great when it was sold to me, the lad said there's everything… To me that means full English breakfast, but reality it just cereal and continental crap, I'm English, if I want continental I will head for France.
If you had a decent pillow and proper English breakfast you would have go a 4.
Overall I would stay again.

High music until 2 in the morning, no kitchen for guests and breakfast is not usually included, but it is a very clean and cozy place.

I've stayed in a lot of pub/hostels and this is a really cool hostel the food is really nice and you get chips with your burger with us a first in london and if your staying you get 25% discount and makes it really good value for money, the staff are cool and professional the rooms big and clean I would stay again no problems.

Staff is a bunch of thief, cold shower, impossible to sleep, no plugs in the rooms. I'm use to live in diffrent hostels in London and this place it's simply a bin trash. I had to sleep in the chilling area because my room was fucking loud and there was another guy sleeping on the couch for similar reasons. When I asked for the refund to leave that place, at first hey told me that I would lose only one night but they kept two (20 pounds). I paid 3 pound of key deposit and when I asked for have it back (becuase he "forget" about that I guess) he gave me back just two and when I told him "Dude I paid 3 pounds " he replied "it's only two". A friend of mine left his mobile for 5 minutes on the bed and someone steal it. When he asked to watch at cctv recording they asked 80 pounds. You know what? Was better waste 20 pounds and went back to Venture Hostel than live there one day more. One star is a gift. Assholes.

Nice terrace, good cider.

The sports bar downstairs is a part of this hostel situated literally next to the Greenwich Station. It has a calm atmosphere between the big matches. I visited it for a quick lunch grub. The food arrived fairly quickly and you order it at the bar as usual. Overall, pretty decent place. I suspect it gets much busier during Premiership matches. Mind you, big flat TVs at each corner so each table gets a decent view!

It was very noisy because it is in a bar. No bathroom in the rooms, it had a mixed sex bathrooms outside. No ac. Never going there again.

The place it self was ok no complains but the stuff! I have many complains about them. It was my first time in London and basicly my first time out off any other country. Its hard for a person to get to know the city and the comments that I was left with by one meber off stuff was very rude! (he said how can you travel like that) grrr. And if a person asks for a taxi the next morning at 5 they book it for the next day so I was late for my national express bus, (thank goodness not for my flight because I wanted to have a spare time in the airport). The taxi driver called me 2 days after the booking I asked for (I've already been in spain for a day) if you dont care about the people and you can manage yourself book the hostel, but if you want some help in something don't bather or go to the pretty blonde she's great ;) very helpful.

Local and health more than limits, poor overall quality. The service depends on the server/bartender.

My experience with 9 nights was:
More than a hostel is a Bar/Pub with rooms on the top floor.
Rooms: small but very clean.
Service: very friendly young people who even helped us find House. For any problem, they provided all possible assistance.
Food: very good, but takes at least an hour in serving you better you go to another site.
Area: excellent. University. Cultural and with many dining options. In front of the subway.
Bathrooms: shared but private enough. Mini rooms — showers.
The best you'll find in relationship quality — price near Central London.

Perfect for young people. A mi me thought it was brilliant in relation to the price.
Negative: The rooms are quite small (very).
Positive: the common room is fine: you have microwaves, sofas, TVs, magazines, books, Wi-Fi, and know great people.
The breakfast is not bad.
The bathrooms are "shared" but that is relative since they are closed showers that you can put all your things inside and get dressed there. Completely individual.
There is Wi-Fi in the common room.
The boys attended us up to great, helped us find a House.
Area: perfect. Students, near shops, places to eat, the Observatory to 5 minutes. And in front of the metro and bus station. Very safe.
In conclusion: I've been in places muuucho worse and much more expensive.

Not a bad place, but honestly it feels more like a bar that happens to have a few beds than a hostel that happens to have a bar. I don't expect hostels to be quiet, so I brought earplugs, but the music was so loud that I could literally feel it through the bed until around 2am. That's also a shame because it's hard to meet other people who are staying in the hostel because the music in the bar is so loud that you can't have a conversation. Their website says they have lockers in the rooms but it's not true, you have to pay to rent lockers in the basement and there aren't enough of them. They do have wireless but it doesn't work well, and only works at all in certain rooms (half the restaurant/bar and the basement). Also, the shower heads are not adjustable and are apparently designed for people who are taller than me. On the plus side, the staff was really friendly, the food is pretty good and the bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean, and it's just around the corner from transit.
