Smart Hyde Park View Hostel Hostel

The cleaning was really neglected in general. We put the small sign so that the room was made and the towels replaced, no one came…
The bathroom was poorly maintained (the tiles were peeling off, the trash was all dented)
The room was tiny, poorly insulated and the window overlooked a wall…
Breakfast included only tea, for coffee you had to pay 1, 5 euros extra, I find it really shameful.
If it had been cheap, I might have been less demanding but given the price we paid, I expected better. Especially since cleanliness shouldn't be a luxury.

It's cheap, but the conditions are spartan. 8 beds, and the room area is 8 meters.
We were a company, and if we're there with strangers, it's sad.
There are curtains on the bunk.
There is a room in the basement for food.

It was an easy place to just show up and get a room. We splurged on a private room. It was perfect — just what we wanted. Like others said — very very small. Just enough room to walk around the bed and that’s it. I couldn’t even put my suitcase open on the floor. They provided towels and breakfast with the room and a very cute tiny bathroom. We had just come from a boat in Paris and this was much similar. I would say it was definitely not cheap for what you get hence the three stars. I think these tiny rooms would be better at $50 then $85.

Bathroom that falls in ruin, not maintained and dirty!

I've never seen anything like this before! Everything is old everywhere and you feel that everything is going to break! The staff very rude (except a young lady). Breakfast (Whether you can call that breakfast at all) can't get any worse. You wait 10 minutes to find a place and in the end there is only toast with jam and Nutella, which have used 20 other people before (with the same knife etc). The beds are sooo small and the room cramped up to no more! If I could give zero stars, then I would do this! Never again!

If only I could give zero sterene! Staff cheeky, hygiene the last, rooms too too small and breakfast can not be called breakfast.

The very small room. Just like the bathroom. The breakfast is very poor. You could improve by 4 pounds, but it is not specific to the time of making the reservation. The staff very friendly. Good price in relation to the other accommodations.

Good hostel com very good location, meters away from Hyde Park. The bathrooms in the shared dorm rooms are very small. The breakfast is very basic (toast, jam and butter, cereals, tea and coffee). The attention of the staff is good.

Good place to stay in London. The paste in the entry puts another name of hotel you have to be careful.

You get what you pay for. The positive is that it's a short walk to two tube stations with a good main street + Hyde Park. Otherwise… the bathroom was as small as an airplane toilet, the 8-person dorm could barely accomodate our backpacker bags, and we were told b/fast was included but it was a hassle to get it from them. Breakfast ended up being toast and cereal which was fine, but it got very crowded at times and I simply didn't like the vibe. Only a handful of friendly people which is such an unusual hostel experience for me.

For anyone who only needs the short version: This hostel offers what you need if you plan to stay for only a day or two. I was there for a much longer stay and I was certainly not pleased. First off, the rooms are much too crammed and the mattresses are a disaster. The bathrooms are about the size of an airplane's bathroom and if you take a shower, the whole bathroom will be flooded since there is nothing to separate the shower from the rest of the tiny bathroom. The walls are also incredibly thin and the windows are hard to open. I would also strongly recommend to avoid eating breakfast there as many of my peers became sick after eating there. I did once and felt weird shortly after. There are enough small shops around and the Indian shop nearby offered amazing samosas. The only good thing I can think of is the location. The next underground station is only about 10 minutes away, there are quite a lot of grocery stores, restaurants and other kinds of stores, and less than five minutes away is the Hyde Park.

If they could charge you for breathing they would do it, better pay some pounds more and go anywhere else. At the payment time I had only euros and they told me their private cash machine was free of charge, of course was not true and I discovered today that the fee was 5 euros… better sleep in the park next to it, at least ducks are nicer.

Friendliness and motivation of the staff is not available, make the impression as if you were overwhelmed or you do not understand your own booking system (had a seventh person tonight in our 6-bed dorm?!?! We had to take good care of everything that the guy goes out of the room and more than an unfriendly apology there was not), there were also problems at check in, the rooms are very small and outdated, no separate light for each bed, …
I do not recommend this hostel as I have experienced hostels for this price where you have been treated incredibly friendly and accommodating.

Outstanding location and a very good team. Good breakfast. Good quality for the price. Small problem with the hot water.

For a group for a temporary night, it's maybe OK
But otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it!
I don't know how other hostels are in London and of course Living in London is expensive and that's why a quality and more space is not so usual, but anyway I would have expect a bit more.
Some suggestions for improvement:
+ Offer more electrical power points/ sockets and also with an non UK format, so that everybody can charge his phone and electrical devices without a need of an adapter
+ There should be a power point / socket in every bed… or at least some USB plugins, that you can use the devices
+Towels and Shampoo should be included in the Price.

Very low price, but bad quality. The rooms and bathrooms are tight (there is no place to change), the breakfast offered is really small and of poor quality (toast, jam and butter and a coffee that would make anyone shudder). The staff is open and helpful and the location of the hostel is convenient to get to the center and as mentioned, the prices are reduced. For the rest I do not recommend it.

Good experience, breakfast is not so good and you shouldn't be too big otherwise you don't fit into the beds.

A bit small the rooms. If c fits you sleep bn… breakfast a bit poor but D besides free… very convenient location… very comfortable and helpful staff…

Do not stay here! not worth it. Manager yelled at us after we inquired about him doing construction IN our room during our stay. It was not safe conditions at all, and they did not care even though they told us that we should not breathe in the chemicals. They do not provide free lockers for your personal items, and rooms are humid and dirty. Staff was rude to multiple guests in front of us, especially young people. Overall, it was not clean and I did not feel safe. Cheap price and good location, but not worth it. Spend a little more and you won't ruin your trip to London especially if you are a young adult traveler.

Excellent location and very friendly staff. The problem was that the room (8 people) is too small and the people I stayed with were very dirty and problematic.

Well. It is not that bad as the 3 stars suggests, however it is not the most pleasant hostel I've been to. The staff is nice, the rooms are somewhat clean but the whole place is in need of a renovation. It doesn't have that patina that so many British flats possess, it is just plain old. The breakfast is the same every morning but it is 'all you can eat' so it is nice to have. The price for the rooms and breakfast are more than ok. I paid ~26 pounds for two nights with breakfast. They also sell a power plug converter which I obviously forgot to bring.

Excellent value for money. Super cheap bar here too but not rowdy. Tea room style. Comfy and spacious for price with nice bathroom. Would recommend.

It is nice and cozy, it is in a beautiful place and close to the center, but the tables that make of bed base in the bunks of the hostel are to destroy backs. The 6-bed rooms with private bathroom and curtains on the bunk beds are great but the heating is exaggeratedly high. What I miss in the rooms are plugs for every bed, which I have seen in other hostels. Instead when we passed the Hotel (it hurt too much back) we slept very well, but the radiator in the room almost didn't work and they left the window open twice. They don't make the room every day, but they have the detail of leaving you a Ketel to heat water, coffee, tea, sugar and milk, which is lovely if it wasn't because… they left two cups… but only a plate and a spoon! And they didn't replenish that all week. Notice, I didn't know you didn't make the room every day there. In Spain beds are made up in the most crappy hostel, so the girl at the reception put me face of hallucinated when I complained that they had stretched the quilt without further, leaving the sheets wrinkled underneath. I also miss a kitchen to make you the food and a nearby supermarket, which when you travel poor is very imprtante, and in another hostel yes that they had. Yes, breakfast, included in the price, abundant and rich. Moderately varied: cereals of various types, juice, toast, butter, nocilla, jams… The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel would come back knowing the peculiarities.

Fatal in compared to other hostels of the same price in London. You pay for everything, does not include anything, the towel is bought, when all the hostels you loan it with a deposit. Claustrofobicas rooms. You can only go up and down in an elevator where 2 people fit and you have to wait about 5 minutes to arrive. Too bad.

It is a Hostel, the room had bunk beds of 3 floors, 8 bed and a mini bath, but it is to go to sleep nothing else, so fine.
Important, take a little padlock for the locker/locker in the room.
The bad thing, in our room only four lockers worked, the other 4 were broken.

The duvets were all very dirty but otherwise everything was I. O.

My husband and I had a private room and my sister's stayed in the hostel portion. We had a great experience. Our fan didn't work and they brought us a new one right away. We had an en suite bathroom and a TV. Breakfast was free for us but it was simple. Ham, cheese, toast, and cereal. My sisters did not have a great experience. There was two outlets in a room of 6 guests. The front desk refused to provide them with some sort of power bar so everyone had a plug. Breakfast for them was in a separate area from the hotel guests completely and the lines were so long to get only toast or cereal, that they decided to bail and find something at the train station. Their bathroom was also out of order. So overall, I recommend the hotel portion and not the hostel portion! It has a great location and is next to a nice little pub as well.

The hostel is quite ok. Space is not much in the rooms.

Really a decent hostel, the rooms are okay and they have blinds on the beds! Suite bathrooms are exceptable, but not really anything to brag about. Lobby is really fun, and location is great!

Even with small rooms my experience was nice. The staff is awesome, Wi-Fi signal is very good and the location is also good. Would stay again.

Close to public transport but possibility to access the shops in the vicinity by walking about ten minutes.
We stayed in a room of 4 which was nice. However, there is a problem with the plumbing (stubborn flushing and insufficient water flow for the bathtub). Prefer the stairs to the elevator, limited to 2 people you will arrive more quickly on foot.
Suitable place for a short period of time. Breakfast included and correct.

Rooms minimum. Bathroom small, with shower. All the intimacy, provide a useful curtains, are included in every room of the triliteras. Breakfast normal. The Wi-Fi works something wrong. The cleaning leaves much to be desired, like the tiny refrigerator that you have to share all the "hostel".

The location is really good, right beside Kensington gardens. The place is clean and the staff very kind. The only problem we had was that towels for private bathrooms are not included and cost 5 pounds each. Besides that a really good hostel.

The rooms are crowded, but more than anything else there are no outlets (in a nine room all crushed only two electrical outlets) the beds are small and the room tiny. Under the beds there are chests of drawers but they can only be used for a fee (absurd since there is no room to move. It would be enough to make it more livable but they seem to have no desire to do so.

Friendly staff, but of multilingual anything. The breakfast is very limited and in a room very small and uncomfortable. The hot water does not work most of the day and the rooms and bathrooms are claustrophobic. The only thing good is the location and the good treatment of the reception staff. ¡¡¡Ah, and watch it, if you do the booking with Direction because I get bent!

The main lobby is nice but the downstairs women's toilet (s) were out of service for the stay. The dining room downstairs wasn't great either and didn't have enough plates or seats for everyone but at least it was free. If you moved outside of peak time I'm sure it would be alright. The rooms only have two outlets to share between everyone… so that wasn't ideal. There's a bathroom on suite which is a big bonus it even has a tub however the plumbing is pretty atrocious. Pro tip: you have to pump the lever 3 or 4 times and THEN hold it down so the toilet will flush. Also watch out for the sink faucet if you turn it on too quickly after you flush the water spurts all over your clothes. The situation if you payed for a twin suite was better; 2-3 outlets, spacious room TV, nice beds although a similar plumbing situation.

The bed were clean, a little hot in the room but to be expected in that one week of summer we had. Staff were super friendly, and helpful to boot. Breakfast was what you expect for the price of the room, standard continental, cereal and toast. Location was fantastic. No complaints from me. Only wish I could have stayed longer.

Very good location, but the rooms very small for so many people.

The location is pretty good, arguably the best part of it. The workers are quite friendly and helpful, nothing to complain there. The room, on the other hand, was a bit of a disappointment — too cramped and with no proper ventilation (not good in London's summer! ). Also the fact that the beds don't have individual power outlets, and the room lockers have to be hired, are a big minus. But overall, it's decent for its price.

The room was clean enough, we even got more blankets than the due, maybe it was a bit small for 6 people but not too much.
At check-in the deposit of £10 is taken and you are given the electronic key to access the common areas, to your room and to open the drawer that you find under the beds where you can store your backpack.
The bathroom was clean enough, obviously only cold shower (really freezing) and the breakfast was very good and included in the price, to be considered very low for a hostel so close to the center and well connected with transport (5 minutes walk to Queensway).
We found an Italian receptionist but in general they are all polyglot and you will not have any problems even if you don't speak too good English.
Don't count too much on the Wi-Fi, it is very slow, practically unusable.

Tiny rooms. In an of 6 beds (3 bunk beds), just had room to move is. Almost impossible to dress in this. It was almost a miracle to put so much litter there.

A nice room with 2 single beds and private bathroom for 2 guess costs us, 30£/person, the same day that we book it. So I think it was good value for money.
They have free television. They also have free Wi-Fi, but in the top floor, (in the room 606) it is a bit unreliable, it connects and disconnects often. It's better on the ground floor. The breakfast was included from 7:30 to 9:30am. The room and the bathroom was clean. There is a bar next to the reception and a food store in front of the hostel entrance. It's very close to the Paddington Station and Hyde Park and you can find the London tourist bikes points very close.
I would recommend it.

Bathrooms are dirty. The beds are not comfortable. Only upside is the added privacy of the curtains by the bedside so when others coming in and out of the room is not a disturbance. The included breakfast in the morning is from 7:30-9:30 am and it is very simple… Bread (nutella, butter and jam as toppings), cereal, milk, instant coffee and tea.

Really nice and helpful staff. The facilities are avg for a hostel. Nothing great but the staff seemed to work hard to keep everything clean. The breakfast sucks but it's free. Cereal and milk were ok but the juice was watered down and fake. Toast with jam. Good bread but cheap corn syrup jam.

-Rooms are much too small for the number of people, even a table with chairs fit there anymore, no proper seating
As serve slats only Holzsparnplatten and the mattress so thin, so that you can feel the Holzsparnplatten already at the pool
-Breakfast is unbelievable: there's just toast, which it, can cover with plastic forks and butter, jam, Nutella, otherwise there is only just cornflakes and Cerealies with milk, and the taste was not the real thing; to drink, there are my memories after coffee and tea; last but not least is "Dinner-room" so small that we almost always in the stand breakfast would have to
-The bathroom was the basic principle of a bath 'good', except that the shower will put this under water, because the a line of the valve is broken (in the room where we were)
-The window left to not close completely (in the room where we were)

-There is W-LAN
-In the "lobby" football is transferred in case of luck
-Kurzer way to a! Supermarket
-Directly opposite are two moneychangers and two small shops.

Very bad Service. I have in the bed shit and there was no way. From the outside looks the Hotel is reasonably nice, but at the front Desk catches the bad Service really. I would look for the free food it offers, because the quality is so bad as Lidl. And Lidl is also worth more. The Hotel has in my opinion no 0 stars earned. I will never again in this Hotel. I would NOT recommend it. Moldy Ceilings and floors, and vollgeschissene showers and toilets. The best thing about this Hotel is true of the billiard table. Thank you, until next Time. ;-)

Stayed for one night while in london for an interview I've seen reviews claiming this hostel is dirty and staff were unhelpful! I certainly did not find this to be the case staff were very friendly and helpful the rooms were clean and tidy if not modern yes the beds are quite small but what do people expect if u want 5 star luxury then go pay for 5 star luxury if u want reasonably priced affordable clean hostel then go here.

The hostel is dirty and the beds are horribly uncomfortable. Mattresses are very thin and the blankets are not washed between guests. Would never recommend this hostel to anyone.

We were in the part of the hostel, the first night in a room of 9 people and the next two in a 4-person room.
Worth paying a few pounds more and take a smaller room.
Breakfast only justito veery give bread and coffee / tea, otherwise not bad, it is a hostel downtown, clean and not very expensive.

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm with 5 friends. The rooms are en-suite. Perfect for a group of friends as you do not have to share the bathroom. Breakfast is included. Staff really friendly and helpful, we bought discounted pub-crawls tickets at the reception, we will come back ;-) thanks guys.

Booked without doing a lot of research. Has to be one of the poorer hostel experiences I have had. First the positives. -key card access -key card locker -ensuite washroom -Wi-Fi The negatives include -small beds I'm 6ft tall and it was a tight squeeze. Very uncomfortable and poor sleep. -noisy in the room I was in, it faced the street and there is a bar below. -poor ventilation. Rooms got really hot. -shower didn't have a proper door which resulted in water getting on the floor. -does not have any sort of usable kitchen from what I could see. Overall I'd recommend looking elsewhere it is close to a couple stops on the central underground line and includes a very weak free breakfast. If you want a good night sleep this is not the place. Also if you want to have fun we managed to get kicked out of the bar because no one was buying beers and just sitting around doing hostel stuff like talking or surfing the net. We had to go to the less social common area room in the basement. We weren't even taking up space that would have been used for bar patrons. They were left with an empty bar space.

Awesome place. Definitely a good place to stay.

I am most disgusted by the service and the unprofessional behavior of the staff at this hostel by daughter who has traveled 9 counties around Europe and stayed in many hostels but came to this one and due to the incompetence of the staff who made and error with a booking came her shouting at 3.30am in the morning to get out of bed and said she is not suppose to be there and all she wanted and paid for was a good nights sleep and they could not even provide that. I would never recommend this hotel and it will not end here.

This very good hotel indeed, arrived to a room with two single beds and private bathroom, on the top floor. Breakfast is not the best but resolved.

Excellent location.

The hotel is small but cozy at the same time. The rooms are simple, you don't need anything else to sleep. The beds are very comfortable with heating. During the three days I spent in the room it was not necessary that I plugged. Our room had a private bathroom. Every day make you the bed. There are towels and SOAP, but if you want more towels should pay extra. There are two receptionists who speak Spanish. The Wifi is free but can only be used in the classroom because it does not reach the rooms. In addition, the drinks there are cheap. They let you have the luggage in the luggage without charging you anything. Payment can be made in cash or if it is made with card an increase is paid. The breakfasts to some may seem poor with krispies, milk, yogurt, or ham and cheese sandwiches. You can make sandwiches and save you for the road while you're watching something. The only downside is that at the same hotel they only sell drinks, can not eat, but just in front there is a place of burgers, pizzas, kebab which are very nice and you serve superbly. Or but, in Notting Hill, just ten minutes walk, there is a spectacular Italian.

The beds are only about 1.80 m. This is far less than the usual minimum standard of 2m. There is no warning on the website. As a slightly taller man I don't fit in there. It's a bad joke. And it's a pity, because the hostel is decent otherwise. If you are small, that is.

We, a group of twenty-five students and three teachers, stayed at the hotel / hostel from 24 to 26 April. We were very satisfied with the cleanliness, the facilities of the hotel and the kindness of the staff. Breakfast is simple but satisfactory. The hotel is very conveniently situated close to Queensway and Bayswater tube stations in a nice neighbourhood. All in all good value for your money. Next time I am in London I will stay here. In the same hostel, for students, there is something cutrillo, a separate section, which functions as a hotel and where no access students and is very well. Pleasant, comfortable, quiet and clean rooms. Excellent reception staff: very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. And at a pace Park, metro and Notting Hill. Very good area. It is worthwhile if you search for a hotel in a good place in London.
The only bad thing is the breakfast: toast, some butter, jam, you and nothing else. And nothing of quality. By paying a supplement, you can get one better, but we can not test it. In front there is a coffee that is very well.
