Smart Hyde Park Inn Hostel Hostel

Cheap, just a short walk from the Bayswater stop, around has numerous supermarkets and places to eat. The rooms were very hot at this time (but it also got particularly hot in general), clean sheets given at check-in, rooms and clean bathrooms (as long as people don't get dirty. ) in general I found myself very good, in the evening there is security that does not let in who doesn't have the entry card. There are rooms where the lockers open itself with the card on which the corresponding number is registered and others need a padlock, bring it for safety. Recommended.

Brilliant location for Hyde Park as it's just around the corner — good sized rooms and great bath/shower combi in the room. Continental breakfast is cheap and delicious and fills you up for the day. Price is very reasonable for London and we would stay agsin.

Pro: cheap, okay location, polite service Con: LOUD, HOT ROOMS, STANDING WATER IN THE BATHROOM, BROKEN LOCKERS, PLASTIC MATTRESSES this place is sadly a dump trying to look good. The price is good for the location but even that is a bit sketchy. There was standing water in the bathroom so deep it almost came over my shower shoes (which you will need). My room was in the basement and there was no airflow. Also, no fans were available (this is an easy fix, management). The mattress was what you would find at a sleepaway camp with old lumpy pillows. The curtains around the bed were a nice touch if it weren't already like a sauna. I'm typing this at 2330 and the party is still going strong in the dining room which is good for some but rude to others. I'm incredibly disappointed.

Good location, but factory effect, with hygiene that sometimes leaves to be desired. Avoid going there in May — June, when there are school groups: unable to access showers and kitchen early in the morning.

The hostel is exactly what I needed: Accommodation, no more and no less.
Hygiene
I had no hygiene issues with this accommodation and most of the showers were also fully functional. The toilets were a bit small, but there was plenty of them.
Meals
There was a small breakfast in the morning where you had a (in my opinion) too small selection. But there are many small bakeries and small restaurants nearby, where you can have breakfast very well and cheaply.
Accommodation
The small rooms disturbed a little bit, because I was in a relatively small room with nine other people (whom I luckily knew) (there were 3x3 high beds). However, this room layout is by no means continuous and there were also rooms for three or four (or more) people. However, the split did not present a problem after a short period of time.
Location of the hostel
The location of the hostel is very good. There are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby and Hyde Park is only four minutes away (walk up the road once) and there is even a relatively close tube connection.
Conclusion
All in all, it can be said that this hostel was an adequate accommodation. I was just sleeping and having breakfast here and something else I didn't want to and didn't want to.

The hostel is well located however the rooms are tiny with full of bunk beds say goodbye to your privacy, bilingual staff is an advantage and the price justifies what is proposed c. — to-d the bare minimum.

Site terrible, all stained and neglected, nothing more to enter an awful smell that fortunately the nose is done to him because if not there is hell to endure. We went to a room of 30 m2 with 6 bunk beds, 3 floors, 18 people buried there, such as rats. Fatal. A shame the truth… If you can, no vayais.

If you want to stay and not spending much money is well. It is a hostel, the beds are comfortable. More for young people. Breakfast to base of toast and cereal. Milk, and coffee. The rooms can be shared, and not all of them have bathrooms inside the room.

Not a single place in this hostel was clean, and the room was too crowded, letting me no place to walk if there was luggage on the floor. Uncomfortable bed and pillow, extremely hot and humid in the night, no reading light and a bit smelly. The toilet was the worst of all. Light in the shower rooms was tricky: it turned off automatically so I had to finish the showering in the dark. Still got no place to put clothes and towel; the water was either freezing cold or too hot, which was very annoying. Kitchenwares were not clean and the whole place was unpleasant to use. Pathetic breakfast offered with great price, but for those who really want to enjoy his morning I still suggest eat out because you're not allowed to use the kitchen in the morning. The only advantage was the location: two metro station near by getting to downtown directly and lots of restaurants and supermarkets in the area. For its competitive price, sacrifices must be made.

The mattress and pillow are a very low quality, it didn't sleep well. I couldn't get a normal shower, the water was not getting warm. The overall looks of the inside of the building wasn't great at all. A few friendly and helpful people. The breakfast was also very bad. It wasn't anything special. At my opinion you pay to much for what you get. 2 starts because for the few friendly employee. For the rest I would give it a star.

The breakfast is good-liked: milk, muesli, coffee, orange and apple juices, white bread, honey, jam, cocoa cream, butter. On various trifles close eyes, a stream of people big and for all will not trace. Near the street with cafes and food. Magician. The hotel is close to the center of the city. €10, you can walk the Cheres Hyde Park in about 40 minutes.

Great. Only recommend 5 if I would have booked a room with travel groups.

Great location. Very close to two metro stations and one of the main parks. Good cleanliness, spotless bathrooms Despite the amount of guests. Only flaw: Room 16 without windows!

We stayed at the hostel for 4 days and had a really great time! Nice staff, perfect location, good hygiene and outstanding service! The rooms are cleaned daily, the bathrooms are pretty small but very clean and breakfast is simple, vegan options are provided (thanks! ). We had an issue in our room and the staff upgraded us to a single room immediately! The people at the front desk were very friendly and helped if we had questions. We would recommend that you bring your own towel since they aren't provided and make sure to book a room with an amount of people you can handle! We'd love to come back again!

The Good: cheap, great location. Two tube stations are very close, street with a market and a lot of different restaurants is nearby. The Bad: triple bunk beds, very confined space. The ugly: 1x1 shower/toilet cabin (picture! ) for 9 people bedroom with faulty light sensor. Verdict: if you only need a place to sleep and don't have standards for accommodations, this place might be ideal for you. Otherwise, stay away.

Good coexistence, clean and pleasant.
The only bad thing would be that the site was a bit deteriorated (inside) and that when it came to breakfast with so many people it became chaos.

The price of this hostel is quite cheap, and the breakfast, although a little miserable, is included. The rooms are composed of bunk beds also three storeys, you are very crammed. The bathrooms are tiny, but there is a hair dryer. The hostel is 5 minutes from the metro station "Queensway" (Red Line, Central). Blankets included, no towels.

Great place to spend the night during a few days holiday in the city, I recommend to take the single or double room because wider and with bathroom in the room. Great common room for breakfast where there is the opportunity to make new acquaintances and ask for information about how to get around the city.

The female dorm was small, but at least the beds had curtains providing some privacy. The carpet in the female dorm was grimy & needed to be vacuumed daily, but I don't think it was vacuumed once while I was there over 3 days. There were lockers beneath the beds, but you must pay to use them. The shower & toilet in that room resembled an rv bus bath — extremely small. There are WC & showers on other floors, but they are not necessarily clean or operational. I used 3 different shower rooms, and each one had issues, such as non-locking doors, no hot water, broken shower heads, etc. There is no lift, so don't bring large suitcases or luggage you cannot climb stairs with. The best part of this place is the location, but other than that, I wouldn't recommend it.

The hostel is in good location, has a couple of metro lines that bring you to the center and more sites, bus stops, supermarkets, shops and restaurants around…
The staff is friendly and they know several languages, including Spanish.

The rooms are OK, they have each bed their curtain and you have a cabin to store your suitcase even though paying. The bathrooms are not bad as you have more than one if the room is of many beds but the water comes out rather cold and without almost pressure still being on the first floor.
Breakfast is not bad as you have to drink juice, coffee, infusions and toast.
Overall the hostel is OK and I would recommend it.

Pretty okay for a hostel. If you’re looking for cheap and a good location in London, then this is for you. As you’d expect for the cheap price, it’s nothing fancy, but there’s a kitchen (bring your own mug! ), beds are okay, showers and toilets are easy to locate. Staff are there if you need anything and you can go in and out the complex whenever you want as it’s 24/7!

Horrible experience… dwarf rooms for 6 people, you have almost no place to put your stuff, the curtains of the bunks do not cover the light if someone turns it on, bathroom fatal… The most crappy breakfast I've ever seen. There is only Wi-Fi at the entrance, not in the rooms. It is preferable to pay a little more and not go to places like this… horrible.

I liked it quite, nice place and clean. With breakfast included and there is kitchen. In a 9-bed piece, not a problem.

Be prepared for cold showers, smelly rooms, and cramped beds. I'm about 5'8 (1.73m) and I had just enough space to lay down and barely touch the top and bottom of the beds. The rooms are packed with around 16-18 people, and the rooms are not very big. The bathroom doors don't always lock, and the temperature for the showers is VERY spotty. I had to wait at least 5 minutes before the water barely got warm and even then it would frequently change between warm to ice cold. The only upside is that from my personal experience the toilets seemed to be relatively clean, but small of course. If you plan to just have a place to sleep for the night and not stay around for too long, for the price and location it's decent, but other than that it's not that great of an experience.

Well, a good thing with hostels is to keep your expectations low, and this one does the job alright. It's dependable, you get breakfast (though its only cereal and toast) and the Wi-Fi is fast. Good enough for me. Wish people didn't snore as much though, but you can't blame the staff for that.

An excellent place to spend your time in London, a place where different cultures unite to make your visit a unique experience, a super cozy place with top quality service.

I advise this hostel to anyone. No hygiene is present in the premises, the employees are depressed, the rooms are narrow and the beds too small for people exceeding the 1m75. Also the promises of reimbursement are not required when one has to leave the hostel earlier by obligation.
Pitiful, I do not advise anyone and will never go back in my life.

This hostel is located a short walking distance from Hyde Park, and within about ten minutes walk of Paddington Station. The quality of sleep let’s down the hostel. Rooms lack adequate storage for luggage, have poor ventilation & heating. This made me concerned about the security of my luggage, so I ended up having to pay extra for use of the luggage store. Showers where clean, but poorly maintained, water pressure and temperature was variable during the morning rush. The free breakfast is a bonus, but prepare for long queues and slow self service set up. The team work hard to keep the tables clear. If they invested in better toasters and a service counter I’d be prepared to pay extra. A security deposit is required for each person staying. This hostel is not great for those with mobility or accessible facility needs.

Well kept and good value for money.

Before I get started, I have to mention, that I am usually not staying in hostels and ended up in there accidentally. Anyways, after checking-in in a nice lobby, we went to our room, a 12-bed mixed-bedroom with 9 strangers to us. I am aware that space is limited in London, but packing 12 beds (three stage high sleepers) in a room, which is 200 square feet (about 20 square meters) big, is just adventurous. The room in general was dirty. Someones luggage was two plastic bags. The night was not restful at all. The lockers beneath the high sleepers, which you have to pay extra for, were extremely loud and used frequently, as there were 12 people in our room. Someone started talking to himself for 30 minutes and the smell was disgusting. In the morning, after I had an encounter with a cockroach in the toilet, which was not clean at all, I decided not to take my chances with the shower, checked out and booked into a nearby hotel. Also, if you have breakfast included, you need to wear a neon green wristband from check-in on. I'd rather eat nothing than walk around with this. Don't ge me wrong, if you are used to hostels, this might be good for you. But for me, no matter where I am, an overall cleanliness is a must. And squeaking lockers and terribly smalls rooms are no positive thing either.

Convenient, fun atmosphere and very comfortable. Stayed one night in a 2 person room. Stairs are quite narrow and very winding and the beds were very creaky, but the mattress was REALLY comfortable. Bayswater station just one block away. Would absolutely recommend for a fun budgeted trip to London.

In advance I can only recommend to book no bed in the 20s dormitory. The images on the internet are deceiving.
Much is rundown and dirty, which probably justifies the price.
The beds are very small. From 190cm it gets uncomfortable. Then stretching is no longer in there.

A hostel normal, clean, closed areas, but what they were fixing when I went, so I imagine that the toilets will be better. For the price I will go to another the next time.

Busy place, friendly personnel, inexpensive accommodation. Very good for short stay and perhaps for longer stay too, very good location.

Grimey. Super cramped and hot. Fans do nothing. Everything felt gross and unclean. It's a cheap place to stay, but if you're anything like me and enjoy cleanliness and good sleeping conditions then I would look elsewhere. I was suppose to stay in the hostel four night and couldn't stand more than one.

On my fourth day I say quietly that this is a place for kids, convenient for the strategic location, helpful staff and pleasant rooms. On the other hand they do not accept payments with ATMs (Maestro Circuit) and in some rooms the bathrooms are tiny (difficult to shower in the 68 for example). Minimal problems considered the hostels I've seen!

Even if it is the same room for several people. Each bed has enough privacy. The bathroom, while small, is comfortable, clean, and functional. The bed, pillows and linens are clean. There is a kitchen for the people hosted, which allows you to economize on the trip, there is a great area to get to know more people as well as the dining room, the terrace, the living room.

Do not go here. I'm not a picky person, but I was genuinely shocked at the conditions in the 20 bed dorm — no air conditioning, and a single fan in the corner for air circulation. Staff does not keep track of who gets what bed and so people fight over beds. I don't think that room ever gets cleaned. Breakfast is included… it only includes cereal and bread, so I hope you like that! It looks nice on the outside and through pictures, but on the inside it's awful.

A normal Hostel, can't believe they will ask you money for everything, 10 per deposit, 1, 50 per lockers which are down the beds, 2, 00 if you want to store your luggage there, you feel like if you are being cheated. Otherwise the breakfast included was like always, cereals, bread, and jam, not enough for me but I didn't expect anymore, the room was clean and the private bathroom too. I would repeat because I don't know any better hostel or hotel with such a good price.

You get what you pay for: low price-not a lot to expect! The best thing is good location. The rooms are with "triple" bunk beds, you have to pay additionally for the lockers (you cannot use your own locker), kitchen is super small for the capacity of the hostel and cannot be used in the mornings. The breakfast is served and good for majority of people; if you dont like/ eat a lot of bread/oats/… you wont get anything else. In the evening kitchen was really packed as well and hard to cook in the kitchen. Otherwise the staff were friendly most of the time and its good to meet new people around here.

Hotel very small. It is as advertised, something basic and inexpensive place to sleep in a city costosisíma. Beds in shared rooms are like a capsule. You can not be so demanding for the price so that's ok. It is very well located and the staff is friendly.

Hostel economical, very clean and well located. Does not have a lift which makes it a little difficult to access the rooms on the upper floors (6 floors)

DO NOT STAY HERE! I got my phone stolen while I was sleeping and now have bed bug bites all over my body.

The bathroom interior, is a little small, but the water is hot, night sleep warm, and breakfast is simple, homemade, but okay, we have lived an experience very positive, sufficient rest and in the morning to discover the magnificent London.

Double the prices because they feel like it? I was paying for two of my friends to stay there thurs to sunday they then needed to stay 2 more days and was told on saturday it would be £44 to stay 2 more days. They then came to me on saturday night to get the cash when they returned they were told to stay over sunday night would be £22 to stay over monday night would be another £40

Great location and breakfast. Staff are attentive and helpful. Secure storage for those that arrive before check in or leave after check out. Security deposit is required which is a bit annoying. Rooms are quite hot, under bed storage is by an extra payment each night, the bathrooms are a little bit of a squeeze and it's not very quiet but that is totally dependent on the other guests.

Absolutely ridiculous to expect six people to stay in a room with barely enough room to stand. The three-story bunk beds are extremely dangerous and very uncomfortable. The toilet room was smaller than a portaloo. Breakfast was unsatisfactory. The only good point is the location as close to the underground, supermarkets and restaurants. Would not recommend and would absolutely not stay again.

The room we were placed in was right next to the boiler room. The temperature got to dangerous and extremely uncomfortable levels even though it was winter. The beds are cramped enough that anyone over 5'8" would need to keep their knees up if they would like to fit lengthwise. The bathroom and shower near our room were broken and smelled terrible. The working bathrooms were tiny. The hostel places a number of arbitrary policies on the customer in order to take some or all of their deposit. Overall it was an awful experience and I can't discourage going here enough.

Enough for a hostel in London, even if you have bad things like that you charge for lockers.

I stayed in this hostel for two weeks and I could write a book about all the stuff that happened to me during my staying. But let's just highlighting the worst experiences: the rooms are clearly not cleaned every day, even if it's a cheap place to stay, it doesn't mean it has to be dirty; the beds are roughly big enough to fit a 1.60 cm tall person (lucky me) and they are quite uncomfortable; now, I'm not a choosy person, but there was also one window in a whole 20 people mixed dorm and trust me the smell was not great. They Wi-Fi works very poorly and my food got stolen from the common fridges one day (not the hostel's fault) but they weren't helpful at all when I reported the fact to the staff. Last but not least, the toilets: clean in the morning, horrid in the evening, there are no distinctions between ladies and gents, that included me finding all sort of hair and human liquids and I guess this is why — even being very careful not touching anything with my body — I got an infection (due to the proliferation of bacteria in the whole toilet area). The only good thing were some people I met in the hostel and its location. Choose this place only if in real need.

The only thing that is good about this hostel is location. The room had one window that was towards other building and the air was not changing — the room smelled. Temperature outside was 20°C and inside 30°C, you can imagine the condition for falling asleep in that. Bed was short for me and believe me, I m no tall man (170cm) But it saved us a lot of money for staying in London even though the impression of this hostel is verry bad. And the Wi Fi connection that the reception tells you about verry proudly is useless. Its not designed for so great amount of people connecting to it and it kept falling down or the connection was slow like in 1995.

Stayed with my friends and I really liked it. Reception was fast and polite, room was pretty small, but clean and beds comfortable. Free Wi-Fi in the common area and complimentary buffet breakfast was a great bonus.

No the easiest hostel to get to, but well laid out, clean and good facilities. Decent showers and good sized rooms.

I stayed here when my nephew was competing in the London Triathlon. It was very convenient to Hyde Park where most of the races were held. It was a good value for the location. The rooms were tatty and the main room small and dark. The front desk neglected to mention that breakfast was available. The towel fee was an unpleasant surprise — although I have since encountered it at another hostel. A pleasant surprise was that I left my adapter plugged in to a wall socket in the main room — and it was still there when I came back late the same day.

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. This is a homeless shelter parading as a hostel. Anything that you can imagine could go wrong with a backpackers went wrong: — cold showers — homeless people in your room — dirty sheets — 5ft beds — small claustrophobic rooms — no cutlery in kitchen — no towel hire — plumbing through the walls makes very, VERY loud noises throughout the night — No Free Wifi Avoid this place at all costs.

Very good site is close to everything and is very economical.

I am a visitor this hostel. It's so excellent because of : have great staff to service, provides guests best assistance and advice to the pest way to get some information about United Kingdom include the British capital London and how to use the trains and buses cheaper costs. I think it's better economically and fun place to travel. Thank's.

I have stayed in this hostel a couple of times on my trips down to London. I cannot fault the location! Using the two tube stations, night buses to the front door and a free map from reception, all the attractions in London are within minutes reach. There is a free breakfast, its a bit too basic and busy for me but I guess its nice that its included if you did want it. The room was cleaned daily but the shower and toilets are a squeeze. All in all, it's an inexpensive, clean hostel in Central London! Certainly worth the money :) See you guys next time.

Worst hostel I've ever been in. Rude and arrogant reception and very dirty and smellyeverywhere especially in the rooms and toilets. We payed for one night and one second later they told us: "If you don't like your room and want to change it, you can't get your money back because it's non refundable". Better pay 2-3 GBP and save the your anger about this shabby accomondation.

If you are looking for a cheap place in central London then this will be great for you. The big rooms with 21 beds are very good thay have curtains on bunkbeds so you get some space. You also get breakfast included witch is coffee or tea, toast with jam and cornflakes. The 4 bedroom are much more quiet and very better then the big rooms. You will also find some interesting characters staying there. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful. The reason I like this hostel is it is great value money and you are not that far from the all the tourist stuff.

If you want to see how far a human impertinence can go book there. If chickens are smart then the name is justified. Do yourself a favour: Don't be a chicken and book else where. Or after you have slept in the cellar, in a room with 20 beds, 3 level bunks, with a chicken window looking at a concrete wall with air as thin as at Mouth Everest, with a toilet you may not fit in even if you have lost recently 50kg, a shower bought on auction from the nearest prison, a Wi-Fi connection for free but unfortunately out of service unless you open your wallet and paid money for this sh**** you may be asked to pay GBP 2 extra for your left bag. From which place these guys pop out and how they found their way to London is unclear, but they can do the humanity a favour and go back where they belong. Because you certainly not belong in London, mate! Avoid the Smart chain hostels and the Hyde Park hostel which is part of the chicken chain even if scared enough to show it.

The two times I've visited London left me there, not bad, the water is hot, roommates if they are good or bad depends on luck, is it cheaper for this part of London, there are more economic but in places removed from the best of the city, is a great place, if you want to be as in a hotel 5 stars forget If you want to save money and be in a fun place and with life is a choice, women should bathe without shame, are mixed showers, lived there 4 months and also only went for vacation, is ok.

HORRIBLE! the hostel is viejisimo, is falling to pieces. Looks like a hospital psychiatric taken from a film of fear. Blankets are laughing, with only showers cold water and also when we were there was no light. Super small rooms foreign sheets. Do not I recommend it to anyone. You also charge for towels, and there is no key in the doors of the rooms, so can somebody entering your room.
