Great value for money. Not a big luxury hotel but all you could want in terms of friendly and courteous staff, clean rooms, good breakfast (no bacon), free Wi-Fi, water, fruit. They also helped me with some printing and scanning. Well appointed for travel links. There’s no bar or restaurant on site but plenty going on locally for food and drink, and they’re happy for you to have a takeaway in the breakfast room/lobby. We’d definitely go back.

Small family friendly hotel. Staffs were very helpful, specially Abdul at reception. No complaints about the facilities available.

Staff were nice enough but room was far from good. To small and in current weather, far too hot to be comfortable. Walked out and went to another hotel that although £30 more, was a 25m sq room, bigger bed, air con and situated on a luxury yacht!

If you need to be in Docklands for anything, especially Excel, stay here! Great VFM, staff very helpful. Had a single room with 2, yes 2, balconies! Ok, breakfast fairly basic but coffee, eggs on toast and sausage is adequate for me. Supplied iron and board and kept my bags after checkout till I was ready to leave. Great!

A good clean and well run Hotel. Good value for Money. Ten minutes walk to Excel. Rooms slightly small. No Bar. Clean and Tidy. Nice Staff.

The staff was always helpful. The breakfast was good and cooked on the moment. The rooms were not very clean and my bed sheet had some weird black "lines" on it. The room was really small and with the windows you see in the image: as a result It was really hot and opening the windows caused all the noise from the street to enter the room. No bidet. Also, they entered and cleaned the room even if I did not hang the "please clean the room" sign on the door (they also did when I hang it). Free unlimited water.

It was a really nice experience. A very quiet neighbourhood. And the room were nice and comfortable.

Small hotel with Friendly staff, room are very clean, best think is free fruit and free water, we had double room and its small for two people but comfy, free Wi-Fi, near to train station and shops with food, breakfast was included but its really poor-not to much for choice. For few nights adequate.

Location close to DLR station and many bus routes, lovley rooms and extremely helpful staff that male you feel welcome.

The room was tiny, but perfectly functional. There are a few shops and takeaways located nearby. Fruit, bottled water and juice is provided for free. You can use the kitchen to cook your own food. It's probably best to call them about parking as spaces are limited.

Stayed here 1 night while working and got to say well impressed clean room small but comfy very helpful staff compimentry fruit and water and a choice of hot food for breakfast no window in room but had remote control skylight free Wi-Fi free parking was full so I parked outside hotel Defoe worth a stay.

The rooms are very small, in the room there is the possibility of preparing the tea or coffee pero the teapot was dirty, you could not regulate the temperature of the air conditioner, good notes quite cheap and the breakfast included.

We stayed at the hotel for a night because of a concert visit. What was very positive was the permanent reception heater as we only checked in at night, after the concert. The staff were very nice and explained everything well, morning as well as in the evening. There was free fruit and free drinks. The room was clean and tidy, just like the bathroom. I have already experienced much worse hotels. It has a typical English breakfast … you have to like that;-) From the value ratio it was top.

I only stayed for one night, but for the given price I could not imagine better. Clean rooms and more spaceous then some other ones, a kind service and good breakfast. What was great that you get free fruits and drinks from the kitchen any time and you can use the kitchen amenities for your own food too.

Very friendly on arrival, carried bags to our room which was nice but clearly expected a tip and lingered at the door, I only ever tip on exit as good service should be part of the experience. Breakfast was included but if you like your bacon this is not the hotel for you as it's not on the menu. Rooms well decorated and very clean.

Room clean, comfy and had everything we needed including hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Perfectly placed for our visit to the x factor live at the Excel… ten minutes walk. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful in advising use regarding local transport links and amenities. Use of the hotel kitchen, crockery and cutlery made it really easy for us to bring food back and prepare it. Would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone.

The room was a bit small, to my liking… But the hotel is very well located, close to the Excel. And the staff (especially for breakfast. ) is very effective.

Great price, get a balcony room if you can — perfect if your a smoker and nice views too. The rooms are small but practical. With free bottles of water and juice being a nice touch in the kitchen that guests are allowed to use after-hours to warm up takeaways etc. Very clean also and at £48 for two people including breakfast I'm not complaining 5/5

Such a lovely and clean atmosphere to be in whilst at Comic Con… it's great cause there was also other people going to Comic Con staying at the hotel too! There is a communal kitchen on the ground floor that you can actually use to cook any food that you might buy… rather than having to order takeaways every night. Ensuite bathroom with a lighted mirror. The bedroom is so lovely and cozy, and comes with a TV and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is free and is made for you 7am — 9am. It was such a great stay and I will be coming back another time.

The room was located in the annexe and was very small and stuffy. Also the bathroom was in a fairly rundown condition.
When we wanted to have breakfast, the "breakfast room" (entrance area of the hotel) was crowded, which was not surprising even with the small number of tables. We were resented to later, they would call us. So we waited a beaten 3/4 hour until we could finally start the day. We were expecting something else, but the price is not right.

We canceled our stay there after 1 night and changed the hotel. The room was outside the hotel and was (also for London conditions) a disaster. Very bad air in the room, bathroom impossible. Breakfast in the morning was not possible as the hotel has a total of 6 tables per 2 persons. Breakfast room is the entrance from the hotel. Even 1 star is too much. The photos on the net have little in common with reality, the name of the hotel is misleading. I leave the numerous "good" evaluations uncommented.

Run by a bunch of good people, it's an affordable place to stay for a couple of days. The men in the reception are very helpful and always on hand to help out the newbies. Located in the heart of London Excel, it's only a few minutes away from the London City airport. The room service and the cleanliness could still be a lot better though.

Great hotel. Really nice rooms. They really go the extra mile, including free water bottles, orange juice and fruit 24 hours. Safe, iron, and fan in the room. Very friendly staff. Will stay here again.

We stayed last night 3-6-17. There were 6 of us in 3 double rooms. It's a small hotel but friendly and we had a lovely cooked breakfast. We went to a concert nearby and the hotel gave us bottles of water and fruit to take with us. The room was fine, quite a bit of light under the curtains this morning which was annoying but clean and comfortable.

Customer service was excellent welcoming atmosphere.

Great night — rooms look a lot better than the place did from the outside. Everything was tidy, reasonable rate, free fruit and juice etc. The breakfast was basic, a selection of toast, eggs, sausages and beans, as well as cereals. Easy enough to get to (when the buses are running), would recommend!

A small hotel in a reasonably quiet position about 10 minutes walk from the Excel centre and a DLR stop. Noticeably courteous and helpful staff on the desk. The room was a little on the small side but in good condition. Very clean. Comfortable bed, slept very well. Bathroom a bit cramped but OK. Breakfast was included but I didn't have time on this occasion. Quiet residential area with a few shops nearby.

Small independent hotel. Great shower, comfortable room, complimentary water, fruit juice and fruit as well as the usual tea and coffee facilities. There are microwaves you can use to heat your own food too! Free parking for 4 cars. The only reason I have given 4 stars not 5 is that the annexe I stayed in was a short walk up the street — okay as the weather was good but could have made going to breakfast a trial if the weather wasn't good. Overall very good.

Nice place. Good breakfast. Good rooms. Very close to excel and Docklands. DLR and bus stop routes into zone 1 are great.

Avoid it, it's not worth it! It's just too noisy; it's impossible to sleep! Road noise plus, outside the room noise (elevator doors, people walking, people getting into their room) TV from the guy next door, and every step the people upstairs took! The floor squeaked very loudly! In order to change rooms we had to pay more for something that was advertised "every room is soundproof" … Liars!

The Hotel is fine. They're very kind. Something away from downtown though five minutes from a subway station. Small but dignified rooms. It's not cheap, but the hotels in London never are. I would recommend it, among other things because the breakfast (included in the price I paid) is very generous. It also has good Wi-Fi. In addition, good value for money.

Brilliant. Very modern, perfectly clean, no noise from outside & comfy beds.
The little touches like the fridge, shated kitchen, free fruit, juice/water and lighted mirrors make the place so much better than impersonal giants like holiday inn etc
Excellent customer service and a great location, just down the road from excel with easy access to airport and DLR to the underground, we were in central London in less than half an hour, hotel is in a residential area, but its busy enough that you feel safe walking around at night, plus free parking! No bacon for brekkie but everything else was tasty and plenty of it.

Small but clean, tidy, helpful staff and handy for train to airport. Nothing else nearby though.

Beautiful interiors, neat, tidy, wonderful staff, and decent environment. Complimentary fruits and breakfast are very worthwhile. Highly recommended for a really comfortable stay and home like feeling.

The best hotel I've stayed in while I've worked in London over many years, I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in and around London. Great access to where you want to be, the service is second to none, book it now xxxx.
