Very close. Very bad neighborhood. Be careful if you're late. Slamming from 7 a. M. Mini toilet, not even one person fits in the bathroom, you have to go in side. You can barely sit in the toilet by closing the door. All the bathrooms in the hotel are the same. Baratillo breakfast, bad, bad. Hot water spoiled all weekend and didn't bother to fix it until Monday. They sent us to shower in another building. We ordered a covered in the evening to eat a salad in the room and were denied it. A disaster.

Cuz I only stay here one night, I didn't ask to change my room, even there was no refrigerator in a room. The guy at reception lied it is on internet. Even they kinda discriminate people of checking-in. After checking-in white couples first before the check-in time, I could finally make it. Of course the toilet is too small even for women. Yes, cuz Spanish were loud and noisy but I can hear everything which means the room is weak of sound. Even through window, employee saw my room which sucks.

Rooms are small but good, cleaned well with comfortible beds. The food in the restaurant is not very good though. I orderd steak and chips but the steak was really dry and clearly frozen. Not that I expected differently in a budget hotel but for 13 pounds I expected a little bit more. Also breakfast very basic. Staff very friendly. Overall I would come again and recommend this hotel.

The website needs to be more detailed. Paid extra for breakfast for it to only include toast or two types of cereal. Then had to pay out even more money for a small English breakfast. There was nothing on the website to say what breakfast included or if there were extra charges

Quite modern finish, well appointed rooms. On site parking at extra charge, all though Street parking nearby is free after 1830 till 830. Continental style breakfast is very limited to just cheese, ham, toast, jam coffee and orange juice. Breakfast served in the attached Cafe that sells more items like cakes and pastries. Clean rooms but can be noisy as everything is laminated or tiled floors, other guests are very noticeable when walking about or arriving back at nights. All doors shut with a loud bang which can wake you up. Close to shops and lots of restaurants and other fast food type places.

I wouldn't even give it a one star but had to so I could post. Arrived in the evening as flew in from Ireland. Checked into the hotel and went to the room where I wanted to chill out after a long journey and to shower but when arrived the stink in the bathroom was ridiculous as their was a pair of someones filthy trousers hanging in the bathroom and a stinky sandwich on the window sill. The walls are paper thin so sleep is a no go. By the time I had complained it as late and knew I wouldn't be moved so I waited until the morning but I had to wait hours for a new room. Some of the stairs have no railings very dangerous. The new room was cleaned but the safe alarm kept going off had o go down the reception and inform staff. They couldn't find the key and took nearly half an our before they decided to remove it from the room. I eventually 24 hours later could have a shower but the door was being knocked on constantly so just had a quick one. Will never again stay in this hotel.

Rooms were a bit small, but big enough if you're only staying for one or two nights. Good location, not far from the tube station and just over the road from the park. Breakfast was good too, a self-service style but staff were on hand. A nice cafe on sight too selling cakes and sandwiches to take away. A nice, relatively cheap, good quality hotel

Finsbury Park is opposite with great views from the front of the hotel. There is a lovely pub called The Twelve Pins minutes away for a nice friendly lunch or drink. Would fully recommend the Pembury.

If I could I wouldn't give a star either. Hotel not recommended to any type of clientele. The only positive side is the Italian reception guy who responded to any of our requests, the other guy who replaced him is of an unacceptable ignorance. We paid an absurd amount to sleep in an attic with the bathroom dirty and full of ants. We asked for some extra crutch since we were 10 days and were supposed to hang a few shirts but were told they didn't (and it seems impossible) and there was not availability of additional pillows. The cleaning ladies from the early morning slam doors and windows as if they were at the market and disturb the sleep.
We asked to stay more nights because we needed them and they made an unreasonable price.
I hope they close this shack soon.

Located in an area that, although not central, offers all the means to reach all the attractions of London.
With the exception of a very kind Italian receptionist, the reception of the staff is a bit cold.
The rooms are very small. We were kindly granted one of the largest with bathtub, but the bed, positioned against the wall, is very uncomfortable, the mattress is practically destroyed and the night feel all the springs on the back since, moreover, it was laid on a Plywood sheet. The room is a little soaked in smoke smell. The bathtub is comfortable and large, while next door there is a washbasin with mirror whose size allows you to barely wash your hands. The room is equipped with a flat-screen television without Italian channels and a hairdryer for wall-mounted hair. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is only available in public areas. The positive note of all this is the great breakfast served at the bar. The ladies continually fill the trays. There are: hot pastries, toast, coffee, milk ', tea, fruit juice, cereals, jam, butter, salami and cheese… All in all this hotel would only deserve maintenance and a little bit of convenience. Although the price is one of the lowest in London, it does not justify having to sleep so uncomfortably. At least a good sleep should be guaranteed.

This place is terrible, arrived to check in and have been given a key to a room upstairs, went in and saw somebody's luggage and belongings, somebody was obviously staying there. After complaining to the front desk, they have allocated us to a replacement room which was a twin room rather than double as originally booked, the room was so small that we have refused to stay in there knowing that we had paid the full price for a spacious room. We have been offered another room, which believe or not was occupied as well, so again we have been offer some tiny room but at least with double bed in it. So imagine how many people does the reception could let in to your room while you're not there! Absolute shame!

Once home I've been in contact with the stupid manager for nearly 3 weeks trying to get the refund out of him and still not got it the whole stay was a complete shabbles steer well clear of the rubbish tip!

I stayed at this hotel in the older facility that is in the back than the building that you see on the street. As far as the breakfast room and the entrance, I have to say that they show up well and also the breakfast is fine. Our room… Fear… he's in a building that you recognize from the smell when you enter. On the wooden stairs squeaking… He's welcoming you to a stale stink that tells you… : "Welcome to the realm of carpeting. " The room is small with furniture that if you are not careful you will remain in your hand. The bed instead, comfortable. The room on the whole is clean. But guys, the bathroom is really ' special ' sink as big as a salad bowl. The shower small with a nasty curtain. Tiles and everything else… No comments Scary.

We are neither particularly ambitious nor very critical in principle, but this was the worst hotel we have ever been in. The entire bathroom was smaller than the toilet cubicle at Heathrow Airport. The sink was the size of A4 and could not meaningfully be used due to a file located in. A part of the towels changed only once during our 5-day stay, a maid was not. The room was generally very small and without wardrobe or Only the possibility to hang something up. In the closet, storage facilities were missing. The door rattled loudly at any draught.
The breakfast was extremely poor: no eggs, no bread (toast only), no fruit, no fresh. Every day same sort the same cheese, sausage, old coffee, only one only one type of tea (in England! ), cheap orange juice concentrate, no glasses (only scratched Cup).
Only the proximity to Finsbury Park station and the nearest bus stop was positive.

From the outside the hotel looks very pleasing, more attractive to the eye than your usual London stopover hotel. However that decor does not spread beyomd the front desk, whilst my room was clean, which is the main thing, it was in serious need of aome TLC. The walls were covered with scrapes and scratches from previous careless guests. The walls and ceilings are also paper thin. The double glazing does a wonderful job of keeping out the noise of the busy road outside, which is just as well, because the sounds of footsteps, water pipes and other guests hairdryers is more than enough to keep you going. My biggest issue is this though, no drinking water in the rooms. Having attended a concert on the evening of my stay, upon returning to my room I needed something to rehydrate me. To my dismay, the tap in my bathroom was clearly marked "not drinking water, " so I had to pop my shoes back on and venture out in search of some that was. Now, admittedly, I didn't ask anyone for assistance or guidance, but I found no drinking water in the building. I couldn't even find a vending machine to buy some. Personally I think it is criminal that there is no drinking water in the rooms, unless you are willing to boil the kettle and make tea, which, as I already said, the rest of the hotel would be able to hear me doing. There were some good points though, the room was small but not too cramped and the bathroom had all the amenities that you would expect. The bed was pretty comfy too.

This is a terrible hotel. Stayed here in August 2014 — we got the smallest, most lousy room in the basement. The bed creaked so much we couldn't fall asleep and furthermore it caused us back ache. After a day of rainy weather we went back to our room only to find it SOAKED in water — the windows were leaking and there were literally pools on the floor. Several belongings were wet — we showed it to the staff, they didn't care. Actually they were not apologetic about anything at all (even though we were very patient and calm when we explained the matters). We did get another room, but it still had a creaking bed, and he internet DID NOT work in either of the rooms. Breakfast is a joke, dry sandwich bread and cornflakes. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at Pembury Hotel, rather we'd say: Don't even consider spending your time and money here.

This is the worse hotel I have stayed in ever. At 44 years of age and a regular traveller, I'd like to relay my experience. I booked the hotel for a long-weekend stay of 3 nights at a cost of £614. 55 (VAT inc). It's proximity to Finsbury Park was the main reason for booking as myself and my wife had bought tickets for Arctic Monkeys on the Friday night. We checked in and had the room next to lift (209) so that clanking and clunking was with us the entire stay. We had 1 pillow each, both deflated to the point of being useless but were provided more on request. The breakfast consisted of bread, sliced cheese, jam and cereals. No milk in the chilled jug so was given a glass of milk to pour over the cereal. No bacon, no sausage, no beans — you get the idea. The tray of bread slices were pointed out to be mouldy, whereupon a disgruntled assistant proceeded to remove obviously fungus-evident bread from the tray, leaving bread from the same loaf that wasn't showing evidence of mould for guests to enjoy. She wore blue gloves though, so that's OK. The room was extremely small and cramped. Opening the wardrobe door obscured the wall-mounted tiny TV. On the final morning I asked reception why the breakfast room wasn't open. We were told it opened at 7:30am. I pointed out it was 7:45 and the receptionist apologised (nice chap) and went to speak to the kitchen staff. He explained that there were guests waiting for breakfast to which we heard 'I don't care!

It seems from these reviews that this hotel can be hit or miss. I personally had no complaints about my three night stay. The bathroom was fine, hot water was fine, toilet was fine, sheets were clean, room smelled fine, etc, and all for a very reasonable price. It's not exactly the nicest corner of London, but the Piccadilly line is right next door. Staff could have been a tiny bit more helpful. If you're willing to take a risk, this place can be awesome.

For a cheap London hotel, it's OK. Rather poorly soundproofed rooms and shower of 2 m square, breakfast was a bit stingy, but these are the only complaints. Otherwise the hotel was recently renovated, very comfortable bed (rare in this price range in London), Wi — Fi free, clean and quick hot shower,.
In short, for a cheap City Trip to London, I recommend it. As it is close to a metro station still in zone 2.

After paying an amount by which you can go to a hotel of truth, we arrived at this site, which is the only one who had free rooms (maybe for the area, which did not seem nothing safe).
Upon entering the room decided to go, already the Hall smelled really bad, a kind of sweat but much stronger. But the worst and that was what made us decide that while living there our belongings and the mattress where supposed to sleep, they were covered with small ants and we started to notice itching all over the body.
The go down to reception to demand that they return us the money and removed completely the responsibility claiming that it was not the Manager. All this at the same time an indignant couple argued with the same receptionist.
The only thing positive is that it had free Wi-Fi, although you had to leave the building and entering another that was just around the corner.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The Shower did not work in our family room, the water just kept flowing from the tap. The tiles were missing from the side of the bath. The bathroom its self was like a sauna! The wooden tolilet seat was covered in deep scratches. We had 1 pillow each that was as flat as a pancake. And to top it all off I found a cockroach walking accross my bed and over the tea cups! There was no one available to talk to or to issue a refund. I have written a letter of complaint and no one has contacted me. I was then told by a guy who worked there, whilst I was writting my letter of complaint and I quote " You! move! your in the way of reception! " I couldn't believe it! I explained that I was writing a letter of complaint. He said "well hurry up and write it and go away! " DO NOT STAY HERE! I am still awaiting my call back form the one boss they have. They do not have managers or anyone of authority if the boss is away in a meeting. After paying £99 for one night I have een left feeling most disappointed and a feeling of cockroaches crawling over me in the night. My question is. If I have a cockroache on the very top floor. Are they over the rest of the hotel aswell.
