Reviews of King Solomon Hotel- Golders Green 3*
We had a pleasant stay at King Solomon Hotel during our trip to London recently. Rooms were clean and tidy and they served superb English breakfast. Special thanks to Ms. Kawal Sethi (at the reception) as she was very generous and helpful. She really helped us in planning our London site seeing trip very well and also ensured our stay at the hotel was comfortable. I would definitely like to recommend this hotel and we would like to pay a visit again in our next trip to London.
Excellent service, environmental cleanliness and hygienic. Very friendly welcome with good travel resources availability.
Looks like a decent hotel I personally had a terrible experience, not recommending.
The worst possible place to stay! Never, I repeat, never, book that hotel! Everything is squeaky, we just got woken up by loud people from the top floor at 4:45 in the morning, they're proper loud and there's noone there to tell them to keep it quiet, and on top of this every single little step they do, we can hear clearly like a bunch of elephants are walking on top. This hotel is absolute parody! Room hasn't been clean properly, no bin in the room, we booked double bed and received a twin-bed room, bathroom is claustrophobic and toilet is positioned just next to a cupboard so you can't even sit properly on the toilet but you have to sit akward. Car park is ridiculously small and everything looks unsafe and dodgy. We are having a terrible stay here, good job we only booked one night. This is unacceptable in 21 century in a developed city like London! I can't be more disappointed than this… Note — this doesn't deserve 1 star rating!
Terrible service, no help with room problems and rooms aren't kept well. Don't recommend this hotel for anyone with a brain. Will never come back.
What a wow is what comes to mind where do l start, l have never stayed in a hotel where the staff are so rude and seem to think they can get away with it. My first day to check-in was a total disaster the receptionist guy called Chris has nothing close to what we call human deceny, the guy has was rude beyond comprehension. Had to address the payment issue with his manager after telling me no one is around to sort the problem payment was made a week ago. The hotel carpets on the corridors to the room are old and tied the windows don't open considering we are in summer and the room was hot. The general overall hotel is centuries back filthy tied looking dirty. One of the day staff plus the manager had good manners and human deceny breakfast what a wow not that great, unless you like boiled eggs am sure continental breakfast doesn't look like what l saw. Overall the management needs to invest more on customer service manners and tiredness.
Not really. If it's a hopeless situation.
I'm sick they have my money. Worst hotel in all of London. Dirty rooms, rude staff, Jewish quarter (and they don't tell you this on the website), Kosher food only in restaurant for all meals including breakfast; cramped rooms, you couldn't get into the shower unless the bathroom door was closed in order to open the shower door; the staircase is a nightmare and takes you a year to climb up and a year to figure out the maze getting to your room; unlocked lockers in the lobby area where you can leave your things if you need to leave your personal belongings either before checking in or upon check-out. Horrible place. Do not stay here!
Poor quality of hotel, aged infrastructure. Rooms have smell. Kettle is there but not long enough lead to connect to power. Hanging rod is there but no hanger. Shower is there but very dirty. Floor creak as you walk. It feels like a maze. On top of all. Bad management and service.
We booked a room for 2 people for 3 nights. The hotel itself is very basic. The room is standard, with just the necessary to spend the night. The bedding is good but the room is way too small. The Windows are small we got very hot! And the main road and just down the hotel so very noisy… at the level of the bathroom it is classic and clean. On the other hand the room is very poorly soundproof! We hear the occupants on the side shower and talk! As well as those who imprint the corridor!
The breakfast is very disappointing. Just mid-bread and bagel with butter/jam and milk/chocolate/coffee/tea/juice and cereals. For salted tuna/egg/vegetables.
For the price you should not ask too much but I will not put my feet!
The only positive point is this location (outside London so moin expensive) which is 20-25 min by Metro. The stop this is not even 500m from the hotel. Recommendable for small budgets but do not be difficult regarding the setting of the hotel…
Very good value for money Nice and clean. Breakfast Convenient location approx. 800 Mt. From Underground.
Very handy when you want to be in the center of Golders Green. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Manager is competent and listens to her clients. I will go back bH!
Really not a great place. Confusing layout and bin bags left in corridors outside my room and window that would not shut. Went to check out and another guest was complaining that every time the room above turned the shower on his ceiling leaked or something similar. Save your money and look elsewhere.
Terrible service, conditions and treatment. Not so much the fault of the staff, like how ugly the owner looked, boss, or whatever he was controlling and sending in bad manners. I don't recommend it. In the 21st century, it did not promote slavery. Does not deserve to be in Booking.
Nice place… quiet… good value for money. The only drawback is that on Saturdays the electric machinery does not turn on…
Cheap — in more ways than one. The room I was in was pretty basic — small bathroom (which had barely enough hot water on my first day), a lousy television with the most basic of cables, a radiator (which was fine) and two uncomfortable beds. The breakfast was also pretty basic — a few types of cereal (with milk, of course), hard boiled eggs, tuna and egg salad, bread with butter and jam, toaster and some hot and cold drinks. It was extremely cold while I was there, and setting aside the fact that I had to go through a freezing corridor (it was open to the outside) to get to the dining room, there was no heating there so we had to eat with our coats on. Overall, at a low price you pretty much get what you paid for.
Friendly staff good size rooms however odd hotel layout. Easy to find tube station for travel into city centre. One thing we did find is that breakfast is a strange, u get cereal and toast so fine to start the day with I guess.
We survivalcamp 6 days in this. The good thing first: You can survive this hotel! Highly recommended for extremely unpretentious friends of absolutely bad taste. The rooms are nicely decorated with filth of any kind. The ambiance was very appealing, at least for the one who runs on discreetly dreckiggraue curtains, filthy walls, carpets and towels. For the very hard boiled, this establishment keeps cold water ready for showering. A real delight when you get crawled in the morning like a wheeled out of the uncomfortable bed. But that's not all that this hotel has to offer. The absolute madness is the breakfast! There were every day really Eierpampe tuna mud toast, tomatoes and cucumbers of indeterminate origin. A five-star menu for the spoiled hedge bum. The staff were as motivated and friendly as you can be if you know that you have to go naked through the Arctic. So an adventure holiday that we can really recommend.
It was clean throughout and comfortable in the rooms. The staff were welcoming, friendly and informative. It is a great location and we had a brilliant time.
It's an unacceptable hotel. Should have a better muco conditions and services.
From the photos online the place and rooms looked way much better than reality. As soon as you enter your room you get disappointed. My room looked old, dark and very DIRTY (wall falling apart for humidity, carpet full of dust, bed sheets and towels full of stains). The bathroom was the only place that looked slightly modern and clean, but it was really small, no bathtub (like it shows on the photos online) and no heating system so it's freezing inside. The room is not that warm either. I totally do not recommend this hotel. Positive things: nice breakfast options (if you have breakfast included) and nice location (full of shops around, and less than 10 min walk from underground station).
All in all it could have been better. A household made but without more (molds shower joint, on the small curtain of the window too), a bathroom heater that does not work, a little in the room. A bedside lamp that doesn't work. We were told OK don't panic. But nothing was done, just check the day of our arrival then nothing.
Eccentric to the north of London, if you come from Luton to plan the National Express Bus also (£9 per person), you can hear the traffic too, plan to take the subway to get to the centre of London (about £20 zone 1-4 for the day). Small budget is for you or not if you count the transport supplements.
We've stayed in many hotels… this was by far the worst! Awful, awful, awful! 3 nights and the room remained dirty with dirty sheets… kettle was filthy in and out. Breakfast staff were as useless as the bland breakfast. Not even a 'good morning' was uttered! We had to carry all 6 suitcases up and down the stairs on arrival and when leaving. I should have guessed… this was the hotel my friend and her family stayed in when her handbag with her purse, passports etc were stolen from the breakfast area and the police had to be informed. King Solomon? AVOID!
The hotel cannot be worse. Pretty dirty how you can see and the customer service, lousy. It's the worst place I've ever been. The first night we were left without heating going with a child, in December we had to sleep with the capes and they did not give us alternative solution. Very bad experience.
The only good thing is that it is well placed otherwise nothing is professional with blackouts every day, rafistolées windows with towels and the shabby breakfast which is just cereal, scrambled eggs and toast. I highly recommend this hotel if you like comfort.
Old Castle. Comfortable bed. Old building wooden floors together poorly soundproofed.
Nice staff.
Not very clean, gloque, and room without hot water! By ocntre the price is interesting.
Toilets without a window. Insufficient ventilation.
Good value for money. Our bathroom was bit dated and in need of very deep clean. Carpets and and curtains also need proper wash. Rooms offer basic beds, electric kettle and TV with no remote and not working. Rooms are serviced daily with fresh towels and bedding change if needed. Continental breakfast available. Friendly staff St the reception. Car park for free and tube station zone 3 few minutes walk away. All together good stay.
A very rustic room, inexpensive, breakfast very spartan but ok. Value for money is Okey, CA 40 from the center, Wi-Fi chargeable.
First the good stuff. There's free parking, room was clean, spacious with decent beds. Now for the 'breakfast', which really needs writing about. It's free, in the same sense as a volcanic explosion — you just don't want to be near it! The main dish is boiled eggs, a lot of them! The quantity is important as they cook more than people can eat. This leads to an excess, which you either throw or store in the fridge and serve next day as BOILED SCRAMBLED EGGS! It goes downhill from there… There were also cereal bars which we thought they would be decent, but it turned out they were expiring the next day! Next were the bagels, which were probably leftovers, hard and stale. I wonder if they even paid to get these. Shameless!
The chart is a little strange, old and little updated. Lazy breakfast. Austere rooms and little decorated. The rooms were very good. Good deal.
The place has the old and narrow hallways. But they strive to do it right. The rooms are comfortable and the beds too. The location is a bit far… but with public transportation you get well anywhere and fast.
The quality you pay! Only good note is the price, the rest is all negative. Poor structure, corridors leading to the small rooms, smelly to die for, squeaky a lot and seem unstable. Small rooms, with very few spaces to put things (in the bathroom you don't even know where to hang all the towels) and especially not clean, minimum hygiene level. There is no elevator and from the room you hear all the noises, especially when it rains, because the rain on the glass (being the Attic room) makes a lot of noise. Wi-Fi for a fee and poor breakfast. Bad stay, not recommended!
The most inviting is the reception. The rooms are very poor and unkempt.
The room was completely different from pictures. Small, dirty and the heat was not working. The batheroom was very small and the breakfast very simple. Also we had to pay for the Wi-Fi… crazy!
I Have only stayed here for one night and I already Have it. The rooms are nothibg like the phones and you Have to pay for everything. The hot water is not 24 hours and the bathroom was so crampef you can hardly move. Smelly neglected and over all disgusting to say at.
For that price I would say the hotel was actually pretty good, given the standards in London. The hotel is in a quiet area, we were given a big room with comfortable separate beds and a view to the street. The bathroom was also clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly. You have to pay for the internet connection though, and it is only for one device. The buffet breakfast was good, but we stayed for 8 days and during our stay there was not a single change in the food provided.
The rooms look nothing like the pictures. The bed wasn't very clean and the shower was god awful. There's much better hotels out there for the same price. Would not recommend to anyone. The only good thing I can think of is that they let me leave my car there as I attended an event.
I was this weekend (Fr-Mo) at this hotel with my girlfriend to experience London for the first time. Actually you don't have to expect too much from a hotel who has 2 stars and it was quite cheap but the furnishings and the conditions were a disaster. If you are in this hotel you get immediately the impression that this hotel is dilapidated and needs a renovation urgently. At the front desk they were not particularly friendly and the room was for two persons a little bit too …narrow allowedly. In the washbasin you could see partly cracks. Furthermore you could see the formation of mould especially in the corners. In addition to that the TV showed a black display.
Reason: Apparently the hotel has forgotten to buy some new TVs cause the system of DVB-T is expired and the TVs which are in the rooms are with DVB-T but required is in the meantime, exactly since end of March, TVs with DVB-T 2. Anyway it ain't matter so far cause I was in the end the whole day outside so watching TV wasn't really necessary but if a TV ain't works in a hotelroom is conspicuously.
Every evening as I came back to the hotel in the evening and wanted to insert the card I didn't come into my hotel room cause the door showed a red light, thus locked, instead of green so I had to go back downstairs to the reception. After scanning the card by a receptionist it worked again but this was nevertheless absolutely unnecessary and annoying.
In one of the less busy areas of London, the building was quite unorthodox in its layout but the room was pleasantly big, the bathroom and bed were clean and the breakfast was very nice. One of the wall sockets were jammed but there were others so it wasn't really a problem. The TV wasn't the biggest but it's a hotel so you can't really expect a 52", overall though the hotel was very lovely, especially the receptionists (one man in particular was very helpful, helping get a new keycard when I had accidentally locked myself out of my room, and got us some bowls from the kitchen so I could make food in my room)
Wi-Fi for a fee in 2017. Breakfast with products of dubious freshness (see tuna pâté with corn and eggs with maize). Rude staff, except for the poor Muslim to turn the night. Tv without antenna cable in the rooms (when we pointed out they assumed we had stolen us…). Towels dirty and not washed properly. Bathroom too small, I am 1, 93 cm high and I can assure you that I could not sit on the toilet. Hair dryer and non-existent shower products. In the filthy carpet, there were blood stains in our room. You see if it's worth it… Ah I forgot, it is not so close to the center or comfortable as they want you to believe…
Cleanliness of the rooms very poor, small bathrooms and no air. Breakfast with products of dubious quality. The Wi-Fi will sell it for free but you pay. Tv without antenna cable useful as a hanger since in the wardrobe there are 4 counted (for 4 persons). Faulty smoke detectors. Secretarial Manager Very rude, unlike the employee of the night shift, very kind even if it has no faults in all this.
Do you want Wi-Fi? You pay him. Do you want to wash with bubble bath? You pay him because he's not in there? You want to dry your hair? Buy your hair dryer. To go to the bathroom you must be champion of Tetris, the sheets are not changed but only folded (I hope it was not the same with towels). The TV is a comfortable hanger since it lacked antenna. In the hallways there is a disturbing smell of smoke. They also save on breakfast by feeding two things on the cross and not washing the crockery. Only the radiator and the coin-operated boiler were missing to close it in beauty. Jewish Hotel, rich in Jews in a Jewish quarter. To your good heart give these people money.
Slugs found in room 45. We got moved. I feel sick. Let's hope I can sleep now. Here for 2 nights. Eeeek.
Good price, but the fourth is outdated missing modernize and slightly away from the best of the city.
A little dirty but otherwise very pleasant.
Small beds small rooms. Very difficult to find a room as this hotel is basically many houses comunicated by intern tunnels. Not enough staff to guide you. Very bad breakfast in this place they dont have variety. Very bad quality beds… I will never repeat.
Not to be sexist but literally every male staff was extremely rude. Day and night workers just had the most rubbish attitude. Shrugging their shoulders, playing with their phones, taking but not giving. Our heating in the room (no. 44) wasn't working so we asked the receptionist to give us 2 electric heaters and his attitude towards it just stank. The next day another staff told us he was going to come in to our room and take away the heater because we had too many apparently. There's no late night food, they only provide you with breakfast. In the morning you have to checkout at 10am, once you hit around 10.30am and you've had a late night, they send people to your room and start bugging you with phonecalls telling us we need to go as if they're doing us a favour. We PAID for this service. The pillows were dirty, make up marks and yellow drools. The bed sheets were rubbish because by the morning they would be half way down as it's just a cloth. Our window was broken so it was even more cold and as it's on a busy and main road, you hear everything. The walls are thin, you can hear everything. There were also bed bugs as I woke up with a pink bite just above my ankle. The cups given to us to make tea were a filth. You also have to pay for Wi-Fi. £1 for one hour. £9 for 24 hours and its only for one device. They had fold up beds and when I picked up the mattress to sort out my sheets there were large planks of wood as if they were supporting a broken bed.
I have stayed in King Solomon Hotel with my wife and son during half term. The staff here are the best I have ever come across. They are polite, cheerful, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Hotel is very conveniently located — there are plenty of shops and restaurants around, only a short walk to the tube station. Definitely will be back again on my visit to London.
Warm and Friendly! I had a very good experience in King Solomon Hotel for my first visit! the service and the staff were very good! I will visit this hotel again! Highly recommended! The breakfast was really nice as well!
The price was so cheap that we didn't expect much. Although basic, the room seemed to have been recently renovated. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and the staff were helpful. The beds aren't the best and yes there was some noise from people walking around in the room above but all in all it is worth what we paid.
The room's size wasn't too bad, but the bed was the worse bed I've ever slept in! During my stay, my coffee cup were not wash, not even once! The bath wasn't clean either! Lots of noises so very difficult to sleep. Left with a terrible backache because of bed, and not wanting to drink coffee as cups were dirty! Then they advertise the rooms have Wi-Fi, but you have to pay £9 per day on top of your rate if you want to use it! UNBELIEVABLE! Not worth the money!
Do not go there. Why? 4-bedded room is much to small! Wrapped Window! Do not clean! The dirt behind and under the beds! I'm not talking about a little bit of dust! Broken Slats! Another bed had absolutely none! Riesenloch in bed! Durchgelegene Mattresses! Rotten eggs for Breakfast! Water ran not correctly! Looks good, if you four share a room… Details to stay you saves.
The night staff at the reception is not friendly. The corridors are very smelly. The hotel is like a labirint and you feel scared to get lost and find a way to the room and to the reception. No lift and you need to go upstairs with your luggage in a narrow stairs. The hot water in the shower takes around 15min to work! You have to leave it on until heats up. The shower drain was clogged and the sliding shower door came off when I got into the shower. No phone in the room. The rooms are refurbished and the bed is clean and confortable at least. This hotel should be cheaper for what they have to offer.
The room was clean and modern. The bathroom smelt like egg though, which soon went after we left the bathroom door and windows open. Overall not a bad place considering how cheap it was.
Room was large and clean. The shower was hot, however didn't fit the holder so had to be positioned precariously to work. The room was a little dated, however for the price we were pleased. Staff were helpful. Overall a good experience and would return.
Great Hotel, Easy to catch The tube.
Prior to stay staff on email were obscenely rude and disrespectful, when checking in we discovered our room was the size of a stamp and the bed was a camp bed.
Antipaticos dirty and with a dead rat gift not recommended and not this nothing.
Run away, don't stay here. The King Solomon Hotel is a DUMP, plain and simple. The room that I stayed in didn't look anything like the picture on-line. There were what looked like prostitues in the parking lot waiting on their next customers. The dare I say Hotel, more like a hostel or a scary movie set, or a place that you will die at looks like it use to be nice back in the 80's or 90's when the people who actually weren't EXTREMELY LAZY and ultra CHEAP cared enough about the property to take care of it. The hotel looks like it has been really cleaned properly for a very long time dust everywhere and the rooms and Hallways weren't vacuumed or swept. No real security, doors left wide open. The rooms were so hot that I had to open the windows to cool the room. Unpainted walls and unsafe walking areas all over the Hotel. The rooms had paper thin walls. The toilet had a mini sink where nothing could be put on it not even a tooth brush or paste. Child size toilet. The towels were so thin and old that I had to air dry. The walls in the shower moved when you leaned on them the water faucet was loose. run away.
All the good reviews are FAKE, the motel is a dump.

RespondThe room was nothing like the pictures. Dirty rooms not even a lampshade. I will definitely never stay again. Dirty coushins, cold water, no heating. All the walls were paper thin and the bed was just a fold out bed. I would imagine squatting would be more comfortable.
Cheap, clean, modern large double room. Would have given it 5 stars but could do with some money spent on the communal areas. Note. The breakfast bar does start until 07:30 so not great if your on business in City.
STOLEN CAMERA
one of the employees stole our camera at €800, we called the police, and suddenly the device has reappeared in the room. The Manager has dared tell us that they had not checked the room before bringing the cops.
too bad that it ruined our stay which went very well, pity because the hotel was really good, but when you're not in confidence and that we are obliged to take everything with us, and well there is just no want to go back!
We sent an email to the Manager to tell him that it was shocked not having an apology from her. But no return.
Its got no mattress or pillow protecters in the rooms, the rooms are nothing like the pictures at all, theres loads of mould either in shower or windows, rooms wernt clean properally and tv's dont work properally overall it was I dump.
I was in there February 2013. I had to heat the room morning with the hair dryer because the heater was defective.
The Hotel is convenient for the location of both the bus stop that. Unfortunately the rest is by no means acceptable. Breakfast always the same (fixed), not international. The cleanliness of the room was at a minimum if not null, the common areas like hallways, lobby and breakfast room, were stinking and obscene. The staff does not know any languages, is very little congenial and very rude, also on the last night of the holiday, I was visited by a rat (in my absence) in baggage and have chosen the most important I had. Of course I noticed something was wrong, but rest assured I had back home. I forgot, I booked and paid for five people, but I only had four beds and towels for three. Great deal of shit.
We were 6 adults and two kids and booked two double rooms and one familyroom. Room 1: Smelled mold and sewage and the TV didn't work. The basin had blocked drains. There was only one quilt for two persons. Room 2: Smelled mold and the shower had two settings, hot or DAMN hot! There was only one quilt for two persons, had to ask to get another which was delivered late. Familyroom: Smelled mold and there was only one quilt for two persons, had to ask to get another which was delivered late. When we finally manage to get to bed late after a long day one of the beds was WET! Leakage from the sealing. So we had to change to another room. The new room was barely ok, I would say it was a two star room (the other rooms don't deserve a star) compared to swedish standard. Breakfast was english = less is more.
Very pleasant stay! Staff is very attentive and friendly, helped us with travel arangments. Breakfast was simple but very enjoyable, nice selection of cereals, lovely bagels. Rooms nice and warm, had a great stay.

I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights.
They are all very welcoming and kind,
The cleaning level is pretty good,
and the price is cheap by far compared to the rest of parallel hotels in the vicinity of Golders Green.
