Great food. Went for the Sunday roast, and I certainly enjoyed it. But I had to try the bacon jam on the side (it’s officially only a side for the burger). If they bottled that stuff, I’d pay good money for it. Absolute success.

Don’t go here if you are vegan for food! The vegan burger tasted like cardboard and costs £15 shame as the pub had a good atmosphere.

The beer garden is probably one of the best I've seen in a while.

Gorgeous pub, I had my baby shower there (19/09/2021) in “The workshop” a lovely private room in the beer garden. The ambience was perfect. Emily who was serving in our private bar was great, amazing customer service from her. My guests said the food was great too, everything was great, cannot fault anything.

Such lovely staff — always go above and beyond when come in with my baby. And v tasty food.

Absolutely loved everything about this hotel… price was fantastic, room (Cozy Cabin) was gorgeous and immaculately clean. Friendly welcome, amazing breakfast, lovely little extra touches like drinks in fridge, robe & slippers. Staff couldn't do enough for me and when I had my phone stolen, spent a long time helping me to contact my Daughter. This will now be my go-to hotel when visiting London. Thank you!

The lack of service for the room at the time, process simulation about that room has to make £500 worth in drinks but unfortunately no boss stuff actually went to our area so we had to go out into the general area and tell the staff that that was a payment for that room… and at the end of the night the manager had such an attitude on her about payment or something that he has left a very bad taste in my mouth such a shame.

Having been many times for Sunday Roast which were always great, we decided to give a midweek dinner a try. The main duck dish came so overcooked that the dish wasn't edible and had to be send back. There is no professional chef out there who would send an overcooked duck breast out of his kitchen. We chose what we thought the safest option and went for gnocchi instead. The food had so much salt that you could actually taste the salt flakes. Despite the fact that the first dish was sent back, no-one came to check on the quality of the second meal. Having complained again we asked for a refund on food which to our astonishment was rejected. The female manager handled the entire fiasco in a very unprofessional manner, if not with a smug face and we had to ask for service to be refunded as this was taken upfront. Your returning customer will no longer be your customer.

Excellent room, only given four stars because kitchen did not open until 5pm, also strange breakfast, bacon like rubber (could'nt eat it) and the egg appeared to be three eggs in one? Why can they not just serve normal back bacon with a normal egg? They also forgot the mushrooms! Good location near to station.

Nice pub and great food. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had and the staff are really helpful. The only negative will only affect guests of the hotels is that it's on a busy and moist junction. Lots of noise through the night and regularly woken up by loud cars/bikes and horns (not at all the fault of the pub/hotel though). Great selection of beers and food. Give it a try.

Carol (forgive me if I’m wrong with the name) who served us at breakfast is a keeper… Make sure she goes nowhere, highly knowledged about the area, A wonderful local lady with such a lot to offer Fullers as a business. Had a great chat about the history of the Listed building you occupy, the flooding, the refurb, and a great little chat about ‘Brixton back in the day’ from when I use to travel as a teen down to the Brixton of the late 80’s and early 90’s very welcoming to find a member of any hotel staff that can answer anything you need to know…

Very attractive pubs that has been sensitively modernised. The garden is great on a hot day, although the child pen warns of noisy weekends. A good variety of beer including some local brewers (Canopy) are well cared for. The food is also very fine.

Nice food and friendly service. The chicken was amazing and so was the brioche and butter pudding. The bar was a little slow but still friendly. The outdoor area is really big so lots of space. Highly recommended. Particularly liked the basket lampshades. They reminded me of mousetrap.

Locals were initially ‘over the moon’ when the historic Half Moon Pub in Herne Hill reopened. However, every local resident I speak to and from my own experience this pub has lost its spark and the love. The bar staff are unfriendly, untrained and there were lots of disappointed people last night asking for drinks that thestaff could not deliver. Barrels hadn’t been changed, they could not make a Bloody Mary and told me to go and find the Tabasco in the restaurant somewhere myself and were generally unhelpful and rude. There was zero atmosphere in there … as well as being overpriced. Such a shame compared to the great atmosphere and music of the old Half Moon, its the last time I shall go. Very sad indeed.

Excellent place to stay and eat. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and well thought out. Decor is right up my street and they have a great bar. It has an excellent selection of local beers and old favourites. I will certainly be back.

We had an amazing stay at the Half Moon Pub on the weekend, the weather made it even better. The atmosphere at the pub/hotel was amazing, food was delicious, room was beautiful with special little touches, staff were friendly. Overall made my stay in London very special. Would love to come back again and bring the kids. The train station was a stone's throw away.

Fab beer garden on a sunny day… eclectic clientele, nice chilled atmosphere. We had the burgers which were FANTASTIC… a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Also, for old school dry cider drinkers like me, the Cornish Orchards is absolutely delicious… sharp and refreshing without a hint of rotten apple… 5 thumbs up!

I visited this pub for the first time yesterday with my family and we had a lovely lunch. I would recommend the steak and chips as it was delicious. Expensive but worth it.

Lovely refurb job. Right smack in heart of trendy, bustling Herne Hill. Restaurant is edgy looking, with interesting decor. Have eaten dinner here a few times as enjoyed bith the food and ambience. Latest visit was slightly disappointing though — — don't have the Sunday roast beef late evening as it tasted tough/bit dry — — possibly left over from lunch service? The roast chicken was good though.

Generally a decent pub for a pint. Tried the food though and it was not good. Had the 'Roast chicken supreme breast'. It was a chicken breast in a watery soup of beans and potatoes. It was a Monday night and the poor guy on the bar was stretched, heard him say he hadn't had a break all day. Can only presume he had to rush out back and russle up this meal too. Definite waste of £14.

Ok the restaurant area at the back of the pub is the part I'm reviewing here. The menu is well presented and the decor modern and slightly upscale compared to most local establishments. Candle light accents the room lighting well here. The table waiting staff are friendly and polite and well turned out in their Half Moon aprons. Service seemed a little slow at times although they were not at all busy. The food is a little variable although appetizing. Chef could probably have given his potatoes a tiny bit longer the other evening. Peas arrived bright green as they should be. Chicken was well cooked and moist. Orange polenta cake could probably have done with more Orange sauce and Greek yogurt. Fresh raspberries would have been better than frozen for garnish. This evening came back to try the beefburger and chips. Chips were well cooked and crisp as they should be. Beefburger was good quality and well finished. Recommended if you are in a hurry.

Really nice place, we were having dinner at the restaurant (which was great btw) and when leaving we just decided to stay for a beer since the vibes were cheerful and nice. Stayed till midnight even if we left home thinking we would go back quickly after an early dinner. It was great!

The fish and chips were great but the service was pretty poor. Think it took about 20 minutes to get a drink on the table but the food came fairly quickly. The haloumi salad was over seasoned and under cooked. The atmosphere is lovely and they’ve done a great job at keeping the old world pub vibe in the main bar.

Great atmosphere for lunch in the restaurant area and affordable price. The place is very well decorated, has lots of room and the staff is friendly, even with our toddlers sing what toddlers do.

We stayed in the hotel. Fantastically friendly and helpful staff (absolutely all of them). Great accommodation. Their quietest rooms really are quite quiet. All topped off with a superb King's breakfast.

Would not (could not) make bloody Mary for brunch and refused to serve chips as a side on a Sunday. Restaurant also closed at surprising times such as brunch service on Mother's Day. The staff are badly trained and the whole place seems to have a strange strategy of not giving people what they want at the time they want it. Too many rules… Bonus is that it's very dog friendly.

Pub is absolutely lovely inside, the dining room is bright and spacious. Very kid friendly for Sunday roast! The food was absolutely delicious as were the desserts. We weren’t drinking so cannot comment on the wine or beer selection, but would happily go back to sample it all. Service was very friendly and accommodating of our two year old’s preferences.

Very poor service — I was given a cloth to clean my own table! Food OK but pricey. Obviously can't cope with the amount of custom they get on a Sunday afternoon.

Delightful weekend away. Rooms were quiet, despite a noisy street and rail station outside, though a bit too much faux copper in the decor for my taste. Absolutely brilliant breakfast.

We had a birthday party in the workshop function room out the back. Had about 50 people capacity. We pre ordered roasts which was an option of pork belly, beef and chicken. We served ourselves out of servings trays on the table which lead to some people not getting a fair amount of food — would have much preferred it to be apportioned. Great atmosphere and bar.

As a hotel guest, lovely service from reception and beautiful rooms. Very nice, quality decoration and furniture. Lots of small things that made our stay more pleasurable. Beds are very comfy and showers are incredible! Morning complimentary breakfast was superb. Both high class buffet and hot food to order. Would recommend to anyone staying in the London area. 20 minutes into the heart of London via thameslink or underground.

Clearly a big change from the old live music location. A lot of effort has gone into it and the staff are extremely helpful during the day. Looking forward to trying the restaurant, beer garden is very nice.

Nice enough, but no real character of its own beyond the Fullers brand. Unfortunately gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights to the point that a team of (not particularly friendly) bouncers has been employed. Not the most shocking thing in London, however not something you really want on a regular evening down at your local.

Good venue, bike friendly with areas you can lock up bikes in the beer garden, kid friendly. Okay selection of beers, bar tenders are very slow at serving drinks despite 4 x tap areas for a busy London pub, faster to often go elsewhere. Fast food delivery though. Only been open a few weeks but that should be enough time to train to your bar staff efficiently. Cosy but often very full, I want to like this place buttt. Just too slow and too busy.

Fullers has carried out a great renovation of the building. The front traditional pub area looks great and there is a lovely light and bright eating area to the rear. This is where my friends and I went for Sunday lunch. Sadly the service didn’t live up to the stunning interior. After queuing at the bar (minimal bar staff for a busy Sunday), we finally got some drinks and arrived at our table to be greeted with only forks (they later added knives). We were handed food menus, but no wine menus – needed to request these from our server (who changed frequently – this may have been part of the problem). Limited menu for Sundays due to roast dinners being offered (fair enough). One member of our party doesn’t like roast dinners so opted for the fish and chips only to be informed they had sold out, leaving only 2 other choices. The side vegetables for our roast dinners were brought to the table with no serving cutlery – the server seemed very confused when I asked for these. Requested horseradish numerous times only for a couple of very small pots to finally make it out to our table. When I asked for more, we were informed they had run out. If we wanted anything we had to flag our servers down, who seemed too busy clearing empty tables rather than ensuring the tables with guests were served efficiently.
