NEVER BEEN TREATED SO BAD! Due to another booking through Airbnb regarding an apartment which we on the day of arrival, couldn’t get but had already payed for, we had to stay at The Melville Hotel Albion House Hotel and The Exelsior Hotel instead, since King’s Cross Hotels Group apparently were to take care of our AirBnB-host’s guests (us) while he was on vacation. Since the day of our arrival, we have been lied to about why we couldn’t get the apartment, slept in small and dirty rooms, been yelled at by the personal (and manager), been lied to about who the manager was, been sent from one room to another because of the hotel’s extremely bad planning and we had to explain our situation to more than 6 different employees in only three days. They made us feel like we were the problem and I have never been treated so badly in my life! The King’s Cross Group made our trip to London a terrible and poor experience – DO NOT BOOK THESE HOTELS.

Really small room, we were kept awake by residents screaming at each other till 4 in the morning in the halls and no porters intervened. Great convenient location and lovely staff, but basic facilities.

Nice hotel. Room of medium size, clean, comfortable bed but unfortunately with view of the back of the trash yard and no possibility to open the window. Fortunately has a ventilator on the ceiling.
Bathroom convenience too small, shower not deep enough as the shower curtain quickly becomes sticky and it's annoying.
That's enough for one night.

No adapters for euro outlets. There is no air conditioning that's okay, but the window is uplifting and with a broken mechanism. You have to make a skill to open and fix. No cutlery.

Room too small does not correspond to the attractive images of the site, unequipped (no bedside table, HS soap dispenser, no double glazing, air conditioning. ). The bathroom (still not closing I confirm) and the toilets were outside and attached to our room separated by a papier-mâché wall. So we were awake at all hours of the night. Television looks like a postage stamp. The housekeeping really leaves something to be desired (dust on the shelves, kettle, floor limit). I found an empty tea bag on display. Work started but not completed had been done like a hideout misery!. The window looked out over a small courtyard littered with rubbish. As for the staff of the reception I put a zero point: Very unpleasant people doing only the strict necessary, making no effort in communication. In summary, even if we spent very little time, I am more than disappointed and will not return.

Nice rooms, it had a very nice view, I think it was a good price and we got it cheaper at it was last minute I think. But not sure. Check in took forever and wasn't overly friendly. Grumpy to be honest.

A service not at the heights, which is not able to insured the room rented, for water problems the 1st evening and gas the second… And who meanwhile we lodge in a taudit… Having to pay in advance, you find yourself easily trapped.

€395 for 4 nights during the period of April. Weak spot: No breakfast, tiny room, no insulation, problem at the piping level, cleanliness to review/strong point: The location, no road pass, bathtub.

I put a star because the location is very very good, is Pegadito to King's Cross — St. Pancras. But that's it, that's the end of the good. On the internet there was a kitchen, and there is no kitchen. The very poor attention, on the Internet also says that you cater in Spanish and there nobody speaks Spanish. The hairdryer though is included, there are a few for the whole hotel and we had to ask for it at the front desk and they took a day in let us.
As for the room, the size was just right and needed for four people with quite uncomfortable beds and a very very small bathroom.
Important: We didn't realise there was a hole in the bathroom and one of the days we found a mouse in the room. When we said it at the front desk, they told us they would do something to cover the hole and they just left the workaround we had done with newsprint to try to cover it up.
We were on the ground floor and heard noise at absolutely all hours.

Dirty Beds and very small rooms.

Unfriendly staff, dirty room, shower not working properly, the bed sheets were dirty and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. Also, the price is very high (okay, it's London… But still. )

The room is absolutely small. You will need to prepare everything by yourself, also u can always hear the noise from street. No lift also the stairs are narrow… it will be a tough job to lift ur heavy luggage to ur room.

Nice staff, from the outside ok. We had rented an apartment that had three beds (2-2-1). The covers and mattress worked Sauber, but two mattresses were located. The walls had high-fat, the bathroom moldy silicon. The obitator had already torn the delicate. Even in the fridge, you didn't necessarily want to put something in it. The washing machine and stove remained unused. In the house it was very clairvoyant, but that doesn't stop at the design. Be sure to take slippers with you or take more money directly into your hands. We're not booking it again.

Great location near the tube and St. Pancras train station. Noisy during afternoon and evening due to park with basketball court across the street until they close it around 10 p. M. Tiny, tiny room with a bathroom hard to use because it's so small. No elevator. If you just need a room to sleep and shower and change and don't mind barely enough room to move, especially in bathroom, this is o. K. If you expect any other hotel amenities choose elsewhere.

Well… We always stay there when we come to London for a weekend because it's so cheap. It looks a bit dodgy but actualy it's very clean. Don't expect modern interiors though. It's a safe place to stay, staff is nice and kind and easy going. Ask for room facing back yard so you can open the window They have Wi-Fi and the location is a winner.

Room was tiny, shared bathrooms. Good location next to train station.

The room smear small but clean. There was a hairdryer and the bed was more comfortable than my own (which is pretty comfortable. I wouldn't go as far as saying that the check-in staff were amazing but I got what I needed in good time. The location is great for underground and national rail. There is a park and basketball court in front of the hotel that my room looked over. It was busy and noisy with music etc but personally, I enjoyed watching and listening. The park was closed and locked up at around 10pm or 11pm anyway. I had a good night's sleep for a very important day. This place is not spectacular, but it certainly delivered what I needed it to, and I would use it for business purposes again.

The room is small but okay. The cleanliness of the hotel is a big problem. When I checked in my room, the room was dirty and was not cleaned at all. The floor was still dirty during my stay and the housekeeper did not change my bath towel.

Cheap, for the area. Nice room, accommodating staff. Quiet night. Leave the shower running a while to get warm.

The hotel room was in the basement next to the laundry. Every day from 7: 00 we had people in front of the basement have washed the dirty laundry. The bathroom was tiny and dirty and if you took a shower about under water was. Apparently they knew of the fact so directly every day a fresh towel in various crannies was clamped so that the water flows not into the room.
I've booked a late checkout and should pay 10 pounds yet again on the last day. After a heated argument I've annoyed then paid and the licence went straight to your own pocket. No receipt, no.
The good location and near the city centre alone can convince.
For 180 euros the night I could have book also a "Edelhostel" me with good location plus breakfast.

I made a reservation with free cancellation. After that, I changed my mind and cancelled my reservation in the free cancellation term. I received an email which was written the cost of cancellation was 0. Even though free cancellation and confirmation mail, they charged me 588 pounds. I've contacted the hotel about the issue but they didn't respond regarding the problem. It's been two weeks and I'm still waiting my refund. This hotel is not reliable. Don't go!

Great rates for a hotel close to Central London. A few steps from King's cross station for the metro. Bathroom facilities are shared (washbasin in the room while the rest is shared with the other rooms of the floor). Great if you do a visit of a few days. Small but functional room with tv. There is also a kettle and instant coffee.

Pretty good for the price very convenient for trains and tube.

We stayed 2 nights, we got too cold, no heating, we slept in a sweater and jogging… Despite reports from the first night at the hotel. No intervention on their part.

Hotel, if you can call it a hotel… we were not House 41-42 Argyle Street but 38 I know even more what Street! In short, a House of 3 m², ensuite bathroom, but my husband couldn't even to dry in this and it's not a big guy!, dubious sharpness, (black joints), no shower… products bed I even speak not, TV: channels "beuguaient" constantly force lighting and extinguishing it, renovations just below, in short a stay of m…
I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this "hotel" even for a short stay, as was our case.

Great location as it is in close vicinity of public transport and restaurants. As for the hotel. The furniture and bathroom are knackered and the bathroom has mold. The sheets had unidentifiable stains. Our room was near the entrance so we had the pleasure of constantly hearing people slamming the front door and running up and down the stairs. No breakfast due to renovation work, but this was brought to our attention on arrival, even though we had booked the room with an extra breakfast order. We got a rude reply when we commented on the fact that we had not been informed about the cancelled breakfast service. No value for money. It presents itself on the pictures as a rather clean and proper hotel, but is is rather rundown and does not give you value for money.

The customer service was really friendly and helpful, Rooms looked lovely at first glance but looking deeper there were a few too many flaws — There was a crack above the Toilet door frame, extremely dusty under the bed, TV picture was terrible! it looked as if we were watching a Cartoon Strip style program and it was The Big Bang Theory, Bed sheets were very clean but ripped, 3 Lights were not working, neither was the towel heater. There was a strange switch that never turned anything on — Which i'm assuming was meant to be the vent so bathroom got very steamy, the shower door didn't close properly the grout in between tiles in bathroom were very dirty and if given a good scrub would be really nice! Shower didn't extend very high meaning tall people have to crouch when in the shower to wet neck up, There was little to no storage space and some could definitely be fitted under the be and no coat hooks on doors except inside the bathroom — meaning when we hung things up they got steamed and moist due to shower. Some of the wooden blinds in the room were also broken so did not shut correctly. Check in stated that it was at 11am when booking but you can not go to your room until 2pm, and after getting a 9 hour bus to london and walking 2 hours to get to the hotel, this was rather inconvenient. You were able to leave bags which helped a lot. Writing this review made us realize just how many things were wrong with the room, but they did not affect the stay.

Dreadful grubby experience! The smallest bathroom I've ever seen together with miniature sink, impossibly small shower, no ventilation, rusted shower curtain pole and mold. Bed and other furniture was falling apart, access to the double bed is only possible on one side as the room is barely big enough to get the bed in. The photos on the web site are completely different to the room I booked. Staff are completely incompetent. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Last time I went to the Melville, hotel on the same street and managed from the same people, everything was cool. So I decided to repeat on excelsior which it is supposed to be the same. The shower is over the toilet. That seems inapropiate for the cost of the room. The staff is kind and it is near to the tube.

Friendly service and always willing to go the extra mile.

Booked for a room for a week. Got a Crappy room at the attic. Looks good on the outside but seriously a dump. Renovation is a joke. Electric kettle is rusty in the inside. Cups dirty, no towels on arrival, waited for half an hour at the reception because maid is still cleaning the room. My advice, go for something else cos 60 BP for a night is a robbery.

Friendly staff and a stones throw from Kings Cross and the Underground. Not a bad word to say.
