Stayed here this week 27/10 with our teenage daughter as it was her birthday the week before. I must say the pictures of the rooms were a lot nicer than the actual place when we arrived. No little extras like rugs, cushions or bed throws as in pictures. Windows didn’t shut fully so could hear everything outside (need replacing) Very disappointed as no breakfast served in the morning, we had to try & find a place to eat, most little places were shut down. I thought the hotel looked a bit tardy & in need of a refurb in places. Halil was nice enough on reception but also forgot to tell us we needed to use the door card to operate the lift so we stood there for a while thinking lift was broken! As for luxury bathroom products, soap only. Good job we had our own.

Place is clean, rooms very upscaled, rooms are nice size, staff is friendly and helpful, small children’s play area with toys, great location to major London attractions, easily assess to the tube. Very beautiful public attractions place, love the festivals they have here, especially Diwali. Love seeing the enthusiasm in this place, is it as if entering this area just makes you happy. The traffic lights here have have men-men and women-women couples walking signs on them which I found really nice! There are busses and stations in good distance and many food options in this area as well. If you visit London do give it a look!

Lively place in the middle of all hustle bustle. You can easily spend entire evening here with friends and family. Just walking distance from here you can get good food outlet options also. Getting public transport from here is also not a problem. There are lion statues here onto which if you can climb, you can click lovely pics.

Trafalgar square has it's own sense of wonder. With the street performers there is something for everyone. Chalk art, singers, Yoda and even Pikachu! You could easily be kept entertained for hours. The fountains and monuments are gorgeous and make a beautiful backdrop on a sunny day. We were hoping to visit the museums whilst we were there but were unable due to having a small suitcase. Which is understandable and just means we have another reason for us to go back to visit again, not that one is needed!

Lovely as per usual! Full of life! Great site for nice pictures. With the National Gallery at the back, it gives a great option to art lovers. The museum is free of charge and has marvellous pieces of art for anyone's delight. You can make a day out of this visit.

Trafalgar Square is a great place to spend time during the long summer days. In addition to seeing great attractions directly on the square, including the world class National Gallery, the impressive National Portrait Gallery and historic St. Martins-in-the-fields Church, it is also well worth just lingering around the square to relax and enjoy your time. Do walk around to see some of the statues and structures at Trafalgar such as Nelson's Column and statue, the Equestrian statue of King Charles, other statues found on the four large plinths, in front of the National Gallery. The busts against the north side of the square and four huge lions around the base of Nelson's Column. There are two lovely fountain pools at Trafalgar Square. These are attractive during the day and night as well, when they are illuminated. In addition to visiting the attractions at Trafalgar Square, you can then proceed through the Admiralty Arch, along The Mall or through St. James Park towards Buckingham Palace. Or you can make your way east along The Strand to see likes of the Courthauld Gallery at Somerset House or the Temple Church grounds. Alternatively, you can watch or listen to a performance in pretty much any direction from Trafalgar Square as this is also in the theatre district of the city. In the end, there are so many good reasons to spend time in Trafalgar Square. We very much enjoy it here during the summer when its warm outside and the days are long.

Very lively place with many street performers. The illuminated fountains give the whole a gaity. The proximity to the National Gallery is a real plus.

Famous place with its immense lions, to see especially when your children saw "the night at the Museum"… of course do not forget to visit the national art gallery for art lovers.

Love the atmosphere here. From the tourists to the street performers, children enjoying the lions and the fountains. The cafe was even reasonably priced, I got two cans two ice pops and two cakes for about £10. There was a man who was giving away free rings, obviously with a donation. What a great idea. X.

Familiar with the English language textbook area, where people from all over the world will be washed. The area is very roomy, work fantany, a lot of policemen, which creates a sense of security, around a lot of restaurants and cafes.

Lots of restaurants to find great food and shops to see cool items. See amazing artwork from the greatest painters at the national gallery. And buy some cool art souvenirs at the gallery gift shop. Take selfies in front of the statue or the fountains in the square. My only disappointment is that there aren't a ton of public toilets outside of the gallery. But other than that, the square is an awesome place to visit. Come visit today!

Trafalgar Square is one of the most emblematic places of London. I love to go every time q I can walk and take a coffee. It is a place full of life, with performances or activities. There are public bathrooms so when you're a tourist it is also a stop useful.

Opposite is the National Gallery, which is one of the busiest areas in London near Chinatown, with a wealth of nightlife: a variety of restaurants, casinos, theatres, souvenir shops …

Big Square for a meeting point. There are usually people doing performances or playing instruments. There are a lot of people passing by and there is a pay toilet service if you feel like going to the bathroom. You can take very nice pictures with the big Ben in the background.

Probably the most popular square in London. Tourists do not end for a second. The area itself is large and different. There is a fountain and a place to sit and all sorts of entertainment shows and a National gallery here. From here a nice view of the Big Ben.
By car do not try to get into the city center, it is almost unreal. Very slow traffic. In general it is better to walk in London. Here at every step there is something interesting. A wonderful city.

As an iconic spot just based on history you should have a gander, however the atmosphere and artists here are amazing. There's also some amazing trivia in the all the sculptures. Like the lions, that sculpture had never actually seen a lion. He sculptures from other art — head from stone pieces around he'd seen and the body from his pet dog! Also the material used is from the canons melted down. The man (You can look him up so you're actually learning) only had 1 arm (eye & testicle too) the statue also has 1 arm, his right arm is actually his navy sleeve pinned to his waist — you can see this from the round about is best spot.

Super friendly place, especially at the end of the day or people take the time to stroll. To see the fourth pedestal with a completely shifted sculpture.

Square to rest a little along with its fountains and to see street artists, are impressive of great the four lions that surround the granite column (50 meters) of Nelson.

I visited this landmark not long ago, and I have to say that between Trafalgar Square and the nearby Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben, the House of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey; all these historic places are definite must-sees for anyone visiting London. When I last visited London, I arrived by tube from northern England to Piccadilly Station around 6:45am. There were very few people out and about at that time in the morning, at least when I went that was the case. I walked from Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square to take in the sights, enjoy the beautiful architecture, and snap a few pictures. Then I walked down Whitehall Street, past the many monuments and statues, to where I spent some time at Big Ben and across the street at Westminster Abbey as well. As a lifelong student of history, I think I could've spent all day at the Abbey alone, perusing all the different areas of the parish and reading of all the historical figures buried there, however I moved on with my tour back across the street to the House of Parliament building. After taking pictures of the Parliament building, I continued walking down the sidewalk of Whitehall Street to where the Parliament building ended and came upon a quaint garden somewhat secluded by a barrier of vegetation separating it from the hustle and bustle of busy London. A nearby placard informed me that this garden was known as Queen Victoria's Garden.

A great public place. A lot to see around. Lots of people from many different places. This is truly international. Many places to visit. The subway is the best alternative to arrive.

Trafalgar Square is one of the iconic and historic landmark of London. Located at the heart of London with close proximity to Big Ben and Number 10 Downing Street, Trafalgar Square is the main entrance to Buckingham Palace, the Queen's official residence. Not only its opening space serve as a venue for free concerts and other public gatherings, it represents diversity, especially with all the various restaurants of world flavour around it and the connectivity to other areas of London. Most of night bus lines start and/ or end there. Its beauty is most admired in the night crossover lights and the movements of tourists. One of the venues to visit in life.

Trafalgar Square is a very nice place especially the statue with the Lions. Also nearby is the gallery which is very interesting once again. There are also many artists and artists in Trafalgar Square that enrich this place. If you are in Trafalgar Square I recommend a visit to the National Gallery or the Martin. The place is very centrally located in the city which is very good since you can reach all the attractions within half an hour. I recommend the arrival by Metro.

Nerve point. Either by transport or by walking routes to get to know the city. In addition to the count with 2 of the most important museums of the city.

Definitely the most famous square in London. On one side you can see the famous National Gallery, a real monument to culture. The fountain in the center of the square is very suggestive and beautiful. In the distance from the square you can glimpse the London Eye and Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.

I was in Trafalgar Square on the occasion of the festivities for Chinese New Year 2018, the year of the dog. Lots of people, shows, parades, lots of stalls and street food. Recommended for those who have never been there! The square is also close to the National Gallery, a great art gallery with free entrance!

Meeting place in London because of its situation and the meaning that its protagonist has for the English. I don't see anything special besides this. A wide square, with different spaces, that offers the possibility of carrying small children, but where the best is not in the square itself but in the National Gallery, located on one of its sides.
Good places to eat and drink in the surroundings.

Great place to meet with friends. Unfortunately, the weather does not always play with, but this is true in almost all of England. The gift shop nearby has great souvenirs of the stay in London and generally England.

So much to see and do here. Major tourist trap! Leicester Square, Chinatown, Charing Cross, all within walking distance. Go in any Direction and you will come to a landmark. Make sure you wear good comfortable trainers to walk around in. Many places can be quite expensive so if on a budget, do your research to know where you can save some money.

It's a place to see in London. It is also not incredibly memorable but the place is nice and still worth the trip.

A beautiful place always full of tourist from around the world. Flanked by Canadian House, National Gallery and Gateway to the Mall and Buckingham Palace. A symbol of commonwealth glory. The street artists from amateurs to Masters of craft can always be found around the square showing their skills from Music, painting to Magician crafts. These artists made this square alive. One of the many things to see when you are passing through the English capital. It's a little strange to put a note to a monument, a place or a place to see. Indeed, there is no service to note and finally some will find that it is worth a visit while others not… So I'll let you make your own opinion.

Very nice place. There are always people on the road who present something, for example disguised or similar. Except maybe in heavy rain.

Had a great time out with various activities, shows, entertainment by street performers. Great security by police and UK Guardian Angels patrolling the area for our safety, much respect to the SWAT food service handing out free hot meals to homeless and anyone passing by. Great community spirit, plenty to see. Awesome day out for family and friends.

Trafalgar Square is a beautiful place. The statue agrees for me your good with the four lions that there are around and the two fountains placed right next to it.

Very nice. You should definitely look at it. A legend says that when Big Ben Beats thirteen times, the Lions rise to defend London. :-)

A sight to see during his trip to London. The National Gallery is on site The Nelson stands in the sky a small pretty fountain and some artists are represented on the place.
From there it is also not far to the London Eye. And around the corner is Soho who likes Chinese fare.

Very amazing and One of the famous and one of the most beautiful square in London. This square is often used for temporary events such as Chinese New Year or concerts but is also the centre of cosmopolitan street artists. There are always talented musicians and strange comedians who will give you a laugh or give you chills!

One of the main squares of London, quite crowded but equally accessible, is a stone's throw from the museum and many other attractions. It is spectacular both in winter and summer as there are constantly street performers ready to perform and it is excellent as a stopover during the visit. I recommend one of the many roofbar that are in the area, offer a pretty good view.

Great place. You can go on foot to the shopping area and to the museums etc. Besides taking a couple of pictures. Buses pass in front and Buckingham Palace can be reached on foot by the Front Street of the square.

Nice to see both day and night, two very different faces. During the day you put a local musician who sings well and is pleasant the atmosphere of the square.

Although the fame is very big, but really not how special the square is. I'd say it's a good night scene.

Historic, beautiful place with Lord Nelson's statue on the high pillar, which looks directly towards Westminster Abbey and is therefore a good landmark. Many local, tourist sites and the National galleries with Feiem entrance.

I loved this square, we went walking to find it and saw a live performance of a street actor, who also interacted with his dog. In a moment we gathered about 200 people around that man to see and also at the end of it we saw that they had drawn chalk all the flags of the world on the ground. It is memorable because there is a lot of life in it. There is a great fountain of water and some very nice statues of lions to take pictures.

It's central London. Pin. The two museums are excellent and free of charge. Sitting in the square and watching people pass is the most entertaining. Obligatory appointment of the city.

Nice place situated right in the centre of the city. Shops and restaurants all around the area very reasonable in price. Very close to the attraction but very busy. Lots of tourists and street artists showcasing. Every time I have to pass through it there something going on!

A passage is valid in all seasons: arriving or leaving for a visit, from here leave, or arrive, many roads leading to other historical sites of the city. The impression that gives me when I arrive is that of a breath to the lungs: whatever direction you get there, the look opens on this wide square always different because of the various installations that follow each other or for the huge and unmissable Christmas tree, when season. To be lost in the adjacent streets to find the jewels that meet around there.

One of the must and most visited place. This is close to the center point of London (center point is the Charles I statue) Events, stage shows, London Diwali celebrations and other countries cultural festivals also do take place here. Most of the parade route are through here too. Nelson's column, the Lions in the square are of particular interest for the kids and adults alike. National Gallery is not to be missed with famous painter's paintings (incl Van Gogh's Sunflowers). Some of the nightclubs, theatres are also a short walking distance from here (towards Leicester Square or Piccadilly Circus). Walk down the Whitehall for brilliant sight seeing buildings from Old War building, Horse Guards Museum (don't miss the parade and the evening inspection), 10 Downing Street, Imperial War Museum and of course Big Ben! Other countries embassies can also be seen nearby here! Plenty of food places in and around this area. Free water is served in any London eateries — just ask for plain tap water. Toilet facilities are also available in the Square and the National Gallery. Wheelchair accessible in and around the area incl National Gallery!

It was one of the first places I discovered in London. It was night (nothing strange considering that at 16 hours is totally obscured and for Christmas, so you could see a huge tree and a small Bethlehem, along with fountain and sculptures. Next to the museum and in a central and crowded area, ideal for taking pictures and immortalizing the surroundings. One of the places to visit in your first trip to the capital of London.

Beautiful open air monument, worth a visit and a few minutes of attention.
On this square overlook monuments worthy of note and rich in history. Museums, churches and access roads to the Queen's House, nothing is missing. Ù certainly the average tourist crosses it without deign a glance, but if you want to spend a few minutes contemplating the structure, traffic and monuments that delimit it… well, then you will find a corner of London where it is pleasant to sip a coffee Or stop to enjoy you a nice anemon.

It's a nice place, but it doesn't have good lighting in the evening, you find the National Gallery, a place to visit. During the day you can enjoy different art samples.

Beautiful square where the monument to Nelson, several fountains of water, its statues where one of them is changed every certain time by different artists and lions! They let you ride on them and take pictures over them… Unlocks of Trafalgar Square is the National Portrait Gallery, also surrounded by numerous places to visit… Recomendadisimo!

An impressive place. Best to stop by in the twilight hours or after sunset.

A bit overflowing but great to explore the city from there!
You can start with a free visit to the National Gallery, where from Rembrandt to Van Gough up to Monet really many well-known artists are exhibited. But better to do in bad weather. You need 5 hours and then you still haven't seen everything!
On November 5th (Guy Fawks Night) is a demo on the square with lots of bambule, then you will be attracted by your city accompanied by lots of fireworks!

Great place, lots of going on. Often small artists in the background to listen behind the National Gallery. To relax and linger very nicely. In the evening the Fountain Illuminatiert and the gallery is illuminated, very beautiful.

There are two good things about this apart-hotel. The location and the coffee machines in the foyer. That's it. There's something like 139 rooms, and only four washing machines and TWO driers. And not the industrial type that dry your clothes quickly — no, they have the type you have at home that take an hour and a half. So what do you think happens when everyone has put on a load of washing, then wants to use a drier? And don't even get me started on the 'kitchen' which was the reason we booked this hotel (and which looks nothing like the kitchen they are using as an ad by the way) — we could have stayed cheaper at a neighbouring hotel and used the difference to buy breakfast every day. We had two pots, no frypan and the instructions for the microwave were non-existent. There was a book, which contained one page about the microwave, telling you which light was for what. It didn't tell you which knob to turn, or what button to push to get the microwave to function. As we did not have a kettle or a toaster, I thought I would try toasting bread in the microwave (it had a grill function) but without instructions it was hopeless. I asked the front desk staff, and they said that there weren't any. Now, every microwave I have ever bought comes with an instruction book, how hard would it have been to put photocopies in the unit?

The place is clean. Public toilets are available, they cost 20p. But if you throw more, you don't get a change.

Beautiful square overlooking the National Gallery, one of the main museums in London, to be visited by force! Also in this square almost every Sunday hosts several festivals, I was able to visit it when the Japanese festival was underway, there were many stalls of Japanese food.

Still here till 6.10. Great location. Nice room. Clean, studio room. Everything we need for 2 & staff seem happy to get extra towels etc if needed. Coffee machine in foyer & we have found Marks & Spencer round to corner for food & drinks to bring home. Walking distance to everything, theatres & restaurants etc.

Wide square where street artists often perform. It is in front of the National Gallery. From there they can take the avenues that lead to Buckingham Palace.

Beautiful! I was lucky enough to get there on a beautiful sunny day. The music, the multitude of people, the colors, the artists made it special to my eyes.

Trafalgar Square is good for tourism and preaching the Gospel of God, that those who will hear will and to those who will not. Very attractive for tourism with a lot of people from all works of life, irrespective of colours. Though I was accosted by a security personnel, but I am defending my faith Christ Jesus, who is coming back very soon.

A bit of a busy place but an integral part of London… Although with the famous Italian squares can not compete to see for the diversity of people who frequent it.

Excellent location. Walking distance to many of the main London attractions. About 2 minutes walk to either Charring Cross or Embankment tube stations. Loved the coffee machine in the lounge area downstairs. Stayed in studio room on mezzanine level overlooking the street which was a bit noisy. It's nice to overlook the street but a higher level would have been less noisy. Studio room very good size, good size kitchenette but only 2 of every item no extras! Clothes cupboard very dark inside needed to use torch to see inside drawers! Also could do with a couple of hooks near entry door to hang outdoor jackets etc. No room for them in cupboard. This is our third stay here. Will stay here again if back in London.

Toilets are now NOT free. There is an entry fee. Very inconvenient when you don't have the appropriate coin. What is Council Tax spent on? They'll be charging for oxygen and daylight next! Can we claim a refund if we don't use the toilet but just look around? Museums are huge and filled with valuable artifacts and are completely free of charge but aren't essential for survival… Is this just taking the p***?

The center is the statue of Admiral Nelson who defeated the Napoleonic fleet in the historic battle of Trafalgar… battle that cost him his life…

Great place of interest, great to take photo s of Nelson's Column and the fountains, great for meeting friends and has photo s taken with the buskers outside. National Gallery is great to around see Monet's water-lilies and van Gogh's sunflowers and constables hay wain. We had afternoon tea in the National Dinning rooms lovely views over the square. Great tea we couldn't eat it all, good selection of teas, would recommend it. Wheelchair access able.

Iconic part of London where officials try unsuccessfully to get tourists off the lions protecting Nelson's Column. Beyond that some great museums and landmarks are only a short distance away. Avoid the tube and walk. Its more fun!

World famous for good reason! Landmark not to be missed. Great museums near by: National Gallery. National portrait gallery. These museums offer free access. You will pay for special exhibitions. If you are lucky, you might catch one of the many live events in the square. Look up to the splint for changing exhibit. Good meeting point. Very close to Chinatown and Leicester square. Easy walking distance for Covent Garden. Trafalgar Square great for the tourists and the locals.

A historic place. Always lovely and fun to spend time here. You can sit and relax and do some people watching. You will get to see people from all over the world. The 2 fountains and the Nelson Column with its 4 giant lion sculptures provide a great photo opp. You can see many street performance from music to magic to street art. Right across from it is the National Gallery which is a heaven for art lovers. Best of all is that all this costs nothing.

Great location for a stay in central London. Close to the museums and theatres. Staff are always friendly. A star off for a crappy view but I know not everyone can have the best view. Didn't mind that there was no cleaning on a four night stay.

The location was perfect. Just down the street from the tube so going out was easy. The room was amazing and the view was perfect. The people were all of French origination as far as I could tell so there was a bit of a language gap there but they did there best to help us when ever we needed it. Would stay again. Only issue I had was there breakfast was expensive. About £12 per person which is crazy. Other than that loved my stay.

Set in a heart of London this hotel is well connected with public transport, it's in walkable distance to all main London sights and their staff is extremely kind and helpful.

Location alone makes this a great choice, but including the grear pricing and room size makes this a winner!

Nice location with some decent amenities (mini fridge, microwave, stove top, kitchen utensils). 24 hour Tesco down the street and several restaurants near by. Very close to two major underground stations. Walking distance to a lot of sight seeing locations. Free Wi-Fi (fairly fast too) and room had a cat5e plug if you prefer to go wired or have your own access point. Rooms are a bit cramped due to the table so storing luggage is a little bit of an inconvenience. All in all I was very happy with the stay and would stay again.

Location is perfect, and generally a nice simple little room, with a small kitchenette, that is perfect for a short break.

A truly cheap hotel/residency, priced as if it would be a 5 star one. Terrible and unpleasant service, extremely loud and with ridiculous window fixtures allowing all the incredible noise of 24/7 street cleaning trucks making sleeping a true challenge even for the most tired customer. The rooms are dirty and old, the water pressure make it a challenge to keep up with personal hygiene and the wireless network does not allow almost at all to send even the simplest attachment by email. I will never ever come again and warmly suggest anyone NOT to try this truly painful yet really expensive experience.

Great location! Overall good experience. Pet friendly, super calm. However windows (at least on floor 6 and above) are really dirty outside (-1 star). Inside the room is super clean. He can hear a little bit the neighbours when walking in the corridors.

Nice place. Very nice service, clean and calm. We really feel at home and they are pet friendly! and even-though some of the furniture was not that great our cat really enjoy the sofa =).

The rooms are small and the showers are extra small. Decent water pressure. If you've come to this Apart-Hotel and expected to work however, don't. Their 'Complimentary Wi-Fi' SUCKS. 382 packets transmitted, 174 packets received, +1 duplicates, 54.5% packet loss You cannot work from their Wi-Fi. Expect to have to reconnect to a different router / access point every 2 minutes because their Wi-Fi is not stable. I'm not sure if it's the internet in London, however an MTR shows most of the packet loss happening at their access point. It makes you frustrated to the point you want to slam your laptop closed and go to cafe down the street. They seriously need to work on their tech infrastructure, and get someone in here who knows what they are doing.

We stayed for 4 days. EVERY single day the cleaners went in and ouside all the rooms on our level. The walls are so thin that when they close the doors the room shakes and its really noisy. They did this for around 2-3 hours per day. So if you wanna sleep late or take a nap its impossible. I told the staff 3 days in a row about this and they said they would ask the cleaners to just close the doors more gently. But nothing happend. I also talked directly to the cleaner (who could barely speak english) but when I did she just shook her shoulders after she finally understood what I meant, and just after I went back in to the room she started doing it again. Terrible terrible service.

Here again I would definitely do another repeat stay! The staff is amazing, and there are more than you would expect in a self-catering option: they are knowledgeable and attentive. The rooms are HUGE by UK standards; I had stayed in 1B suites before, never knew the studios were so roomy too. You won't be disappointed with the facilities, staff or location.

Hotel spotless and clean.
The service is very good opportunity to leave his luggage at the day of departure.

We stayed at the Citadines from December 20-27, 2013. It is a wonderful place to stay — cozy and quiet and perfectly located. Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and many restaurants and shops are just steps away. The staff is friendly and helpful and saw to our every need. The beds are comfortable. There is more than enough space to move around and spread out. We very much enjoyed our first time stay in London and are looking forward to returning in a few years. The Citadines is the only place we will stay.

Very nice hotel, coffee & tea, top location, very clean and well maintained rooms (incl. Bathroom) around the clock free (most of the attractions are within walking distance).

The rooms are small and the building is old and in need of a lot of repair. The kitchen was only big enough for one person. You couldn't hardly lift your arms in the shower. The water pressure was crap, you had to run around under the shower to get wet. We were there in summer and the air con was on ther blink. Supervisor did his best but the owners need to spend a small fortune modernising these items. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food great. It is in an excellent location.
