Reviews of Britannia International Hotel Canary Wharf 3*
They have taken £149 as a pending transaction. They blamed me for my key not working. The shower flooded the bathroom everytime I had a shower. I went to make a cup of coffee and found an open UHT pot of milk that was empty or it was so old it had evaporated and started to curdle.
Small price for a very nice hotel. I d deffo go back. 💯
First on minus 1 floor… rat traps 🐀in the hallway so got moved rooms. Overall I think I stayed in 4 rooms over the long weekend. All very outdated, dirty rooms, boiling hot and whole Place really needs a revamp. My partner saw a mouse in the lounge so the bar got shut for a few hours 🐁 then was back open 🤯 the bar shut at 9pm on Sunday night. The amount of people we heard complain at the front desk was more than I’d ever seen before. Only good thing was the location, its close to shops and station.
Bit cold and the heating didn't make a blind bit of difference to the room. The room was a little tired and warn, but having said that it was only £58 a night. Staff on the other hand are fantastic, very helpful and polite.
Avoid this hotel. They have charged me twice for the same room and each time I have rang to speak to someone about the issue I've been hung up on. They have stolen my money and are seemingly absolutely fine with this. Aside from that, the checkin process is extremely long, we waited an hour to do so, and I heard other customers on more than one occasion mention how their room had been improperly cleaned. do not stay here. They are thieves.
Got there Saturday night to be told they have overbooked and don’t have a room for us. Not just us — about 60 other people aswell. Forced to pay 3 times the price to get another hotel short notice. No cancellation email or courtesy call although they knew the problem had happened earlier in the day. Not so much as a sorry. Absolute joke of hotel with the worst staff on to handle the situation. Will forever tell everyone to avoid this place!
Room was dirty, major cues in reception all the way though the morning, the beds was hard, then the fire alarm repeatedly sounding at 2-3 am very loud, that’s with out the people right out side your hotel jumping out on every car asking if they wanna buy hash etc, and currently in the middle of writing some thing to your selfs about the lady who was sitting in your fire exit to the left of your steps with a lady of the night standing there playing with her hair etc in the way of the door and behind that was a lady who looked out of her nut and then you had the blokes sitting on the wall etc, and it ain’t rocket science this lady needed help and when brought to your security’s attention be looked very shady, some one must be getting paid to turn a blind eye there or they are scared this is not acceptable, and we had to physically pull the guy over to the lady this was early hours, but I would like to know if this matter was logged and what’s going to be done about these issues 9-22 9-24 was our rooms Saturday night, this is appalling feel free to message me when you get this as it’s about to go to the news, right in your face and your ignoring it, I ain’t no clever clogs but this ain’t right.
Very clean, everyone very very polite, very helpful. We had a great stay & would definitely go back again.
Amazing hotel spacious rooms great staff and food and drink very selective, right near docks but plenty of restaurants nearby, ideal for services into city buy underground or Dlr. No air con though but can't complain.
The Britannia is an older style of hotel but I stay here because it is reliable, very clean and can be very good value. There are two types of rooms — this with windows and those without. Without is cheaper but the upside is you get an amazing sleep because it is so dark! Definitely a place to consider if you need to stay close to Canary Wharf and don’t want to spend a fortune. It is worth noting that the staff are also friendly and do try and meet room requests etc.
Arrived at the hotel having booked a twin room without a window, arrived at the room to 2 twins pushed together and the bedding was made up for a double, asked for it to be rectified and got moved to a family suite with a window, however the window was smashed and maintenance was happy to let themselves in the room whilst I was changing! So I decided to go to the spa and get a massage, which was scheduled for 3.30pm but was pushed back being told shell only be 2 mins until my appointment started at 4.10pm. Whilst I was in the appointment which was next to reception, staff outside were shouting and having heated discussions, not a very relaxing atmosphere when you've paid for it. The spa definitely needs ripping out and putting back in, showers are full of mould, and my mother the day after went down to sewage seeping into the showers. The stairs up to the pool are painted white however where you walk is black with mould. The plugs in the bedroom, only 1 was working which wasn't ideal before hiking around London the day after with barely any charge on my phone. The elevators aren't worth trusting, with one having a smashed in panel inside. About 7 years ago I came to this hotel with only good things to say, however now I have visited again, I would definitely not recommend for anyone. Waste of money, and with the overground next to it, there is not much I can say about a pleasant nights sleep.
They lost our reservation but we managed to iron out the details eventually. I’m pretty sure they upgraded us for free to make up for the fuss. Location was pretty good, although not in central London obviously. The staff were a bit hit and miss, with some being very helpful and others looking like it was the last place they wanted to be. The room was spacious, if faded and a little past it’s best. It was unfortunately overlooking a building site, but that can’t be helped.
I had a great time here with my girlfriend. The 2 reason I am not giving it a perfect score is because they didn't have my complete purchase done. If I have to pay a certain amount of money. Then I expect certain things to just be done. The second reason is because when I went for dinner, the hall was incredibly hot. I understand the time of year and there is a hot plate but again. If you pay a certain amount of money. I expect a level of comfort.
Good hotel by value for money.
Really liked it. Staff really helpful and competent. Love and clean and comfortable. Great value for money. We booked two nights on the room breakfast and evening meal with wine deal. Sounded too good to be true but it was exactly what it said. Couldn't fault breakfast. Ample to suit all tastes from full English to porridge cereals and fruits etc. If you are tied to a low fat medical diet. Evening meal the same from soup to mains to desert and a full bottle of wine with your meal which for house wine was impressive. Lively bar with sports drinks reasonably priced for a hotel or you can sit and relax after a hard days sight seeing looking out over the wharf. Lots of people relaxing and conversing. Nice. Nice conclusion for us after a lovely days tennis at Wimbledon.
I paid £52 for a night for two people. Pretty reasonable for London! The hotel itself is very dated and there is graffiti on some of the internal walls. There is also a bit of a distinct smell as you walk through. The beds, I thought, were comfortable. The stay was ruined by a hotel alarm going off at about half 2 in the morning (I think it was that time). It seemed like it was a security alarm, rather than a fire alarm, but I'm still none the wiser as all guests were left outside for an hour, without any explanation from the hotel staff/management on what was going on. I simple announcement would have been sufficient as everyone understands that sometimes things go wrong. The lack of communication though really got some people's back up, especially those with very young children. Overall a poor experience and one that I think will be echoed by everyone staying there that night.
Hotel located in the heart of the new London docks district (Canary Wharf). Good location, close to buses and Metro. This hotel has nice comfortable rooms, large beds. It's clean and well kept. Feel free to go swimming in the small pool and enjoy the hotel's sauna/hammam/Jacuzzi. Very nice after a hectic day in London.
The building is not new but kept well. Great view of the river, large and clean rooms, great English breakfast including which is not easy to find in London hotels and especially great buffet dinner at only £12 per evening. Recommended.
Old fashioned Hotel, need for a renovation activity. Great room but a little dusty.
Nice place on the edge of the Thames… friendly staff… average room.
Sharing an experience after 4 day stay. Pros: Low price as compared to others. Centre in Canary wharf Cons: No Wi-Fi, just 30 minutes free session. Got tiny room which promised to replace but couldn't happen in 4 days. If you're not getting anything in town, can stay here.
A dirty hotel. It smells like dust and mattresses with broken springs.
Ideal for school trips, large 2 bed rooms, private bathroom with bathtub and shower curtain, in the bathroom there is a normal power socket that can be used without an adaptor, some of the rooms have a great view of the water, but depend on which side the room is located on.
Breakfast buffet was top, was constantly replenished, generally very good service.
About a 10-minute walk to the Canary Wharf subway station, so you are very fast in the middle of London.
The rooms were spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful on the whole. The breakfast was one of the best we have had. Traditional English breakfast, buffet style but there were also many options for the international visitors. There are several bars and eating options within the hotel. We tried all the bars and the Indian restaurant. The location is excellent. Close to the train station and a short walk to the river bus. The pool, gym and spa looked clean and inviting. If only we had remembered our costumes! The hotel is like a favourite old aunt. A little old fashioned and eccentric but tries to make the most of what's there. There are some wonderful touches throughout, the boat on the ceiling of the dining area, beautiful statues by the lifts, lovely ornaments everywhere. Everything we need for our weekend was provided. If you want ultra modern, this is not the hotel for you. We like traditional and loved it here. My only negative really is that the windows really need a clean on the outside. We will definitely return though.
Terrible. Very poor attention, and poor condition of the rooms.
Absolutely ridiculous!
The service left to be desired. The guy at the front desk was very rude. We went into the restaurant "Italian" and also here bad service. We won't be back.
Should be a 4 star but … Breakfast is awefull … Absolutely classless. The lounge area is great. Big leather seats and a bit old world. Bed is a rock with sheets but room was large and comfy … I will stay again asking for extra duvet (cushioning bed)
I mistakenly Booker on the wrong date and the hotel made no gesture to repay me at least partially! I had a very bad person on the phone! I especially like that I am a student and that this booking to spoil my week end: (
I imagine once upon a time this was a really high end hotel and is still quite nice, however it could really do with a touch up at some point. The furniture has seen better days (the sofa had a big rip in it) and the room smelled heavily of cigarettes when we went in. The bath definitely needed some work on it BUT the room was absolutely massive and for the price we really couldn't complain too much. It has its downfalls but it's still nice.
The service is good, but the room leaves some places to be desired.
Mostly passable. The staff where nice enough but the entire hotel was a bit dated but at least it was cheap enough to be acceptable. The pool area on the other hand was a massive let down and to be charged extra to use it was an insult. The metal stairs were rusty and loose, the tiles had mouldy sections, the showers had mouldy grouting. I attempted to use the steam room but that was near impossible to do in any comfort as the bench was concave so all the condensed steam settled in there making you sit in an inch deep puddle of cold water. The sauna section wasn't much better with broken and missing wooden panels and the Jacuzzi was not very warm and also had no steps to get in or out you just had to kind of jump/climb over which ever edge you where near.
Although conveniently located to Canary Wharf, that is about the best that it gets. The property itself is in desperate need of refurbishment. The rooms are what you'd expect to find in a 3 star hotel given the state of the furnishings. With a major overhaul of the property, this place could rival the best hotels found in the Canary Wharf area.
I was 3 days in London with friends and stayed at this hotel located in Canary Wharf, a quiet neighborhood, the Metro is easy to get to from the hotel just an 8 minute walk, where you can take both PA Jubilee and DLR, old hotel, room and pretty, negative has Wi-Fi which is fee, in the room there is no refrigerator, the desk some drawers were without handles, moreover as price quality is fine.
The Britannia International is my favourite hotel in London. We had a fantastic view and slept with the curtains open every night. The room was spotless and the staff were extremely helpful. It was close to the underground so we were able to travel easily around London we will definitely be booking this hotel again.
The hotel is located in a wonderful neighborhood with a very short distance of the Metro's first shopping centers, good close to the hotel you can find.
The full buffet breakfast and delicious next to the window overlooking the Canal.
The feeling of staying in a hotel almost old but stylish and nice feeling in English.
Stay with the best price in a hotel four stars with the mehrbon and the staff polite.
Staying in this hotel got together, I recommend otanam.
11-Floor Rooms Spectacular view €250 x 4 nights. And the room does not mancavanulla.
Enjoyed my stay here although not the kind of hotel I would normally choose. The place has an old fashioned charm and grandeur to it and the room was clean and spacious. Food was acceptable. Short walk to Canary Wharf tube to venture into central London.
Stayed here a few times and never a disappointment. Huge hotel with magnificent views. Has a pool a spa and different restaurants and bars inside. Close to transport and many bars. Parking is £21 for 24 hrs. If you can arrive after 6pm you’ll save yourself £6 as long as your gone by 8am. Good service.
Old and shabby room with fully attitude carpet, completely dirty windows (barely seen out the window! ). Dirty towels on arrival (completely dirty and not changed from previous check out). Wi-Fi only in the lobby (7 floors below) and in the room only for 25 minutes free! I can't find a single positive element. Bad experience, I would not recommend it absolutely.
Not recommended. The price is low for London conditions, but the hotel is also underground. The staff is too bothered to let you see the age of the equipment etc, but that doesn't help in the end. Never again.
Good hotel with good location in dog's Island, comfortable price to be London, with bus stop in front of the hotel and the Metro (Undergrown Canary Wharf) at 900 meters, but you can go on the bus. Comfortable rooms. The only thing I could catalog from regular is that you only get Wi-Fi for 20 min. If you need more time you must pay it.
No European plugs, no handers available (adapter sold by the concierge at 5 GBP) Bad sound insulation no internet connection in the rooms.
The room was great.
Good service.
Room Service possible 24h/24 being French, I found that there was not a wide choice for breakfast.
Wi-Fi is available at the front desk only.
On the site, they say that there is access to the spa and the pool, for the guests of the hotel, but arrived on site, you have to pay an extra fee…
Otherwise, great stay!
Bad service, never came to clean my room being here 4 nights despite Q I went three times to claim, the rooms are old and you have to pay for Wi-Fi.
I stayed here one night as I was looking for a nearby hotel and I came across this one. I booked a normal double room but I was upgraded to a double suite. I was happy to hear about this, but as soon as I walked the room's door, there was about 20 steps of stairs which lead to the room that was located up the stairs. I wasn't aware of this because I had a suitcase with me and I'm only petite; so had to carry it all the way up the stairs on my own. The suite was lovely, the view was amazing. The bathroom had a bath which turned into a hot tub. The TV wasn't that great, very small for the suite. Food was excellent. The breakfast wasn't nice at all. It was a buffet style but hardly any choices. Otherwise it wasn't too bad but not too sure if I would stay again.
The hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel location is close to a Tesco express and not too far from Canary Wharf tube station. The only issue I had was perhaps down to personal preference. I prefer a softer bed.
Kind, and ready to give help for any problem. I recommend it.
The hotel was very nice and the room was very clean.
Breakfast compared to London prices was varied and of quality.
We were able to enjoy an offer, and quality-price, and distance to downtown was ideal.
The heating was not going and also I have taken a big scare with the latch of the bathroom, I almost think I'm stuck.
Stayed for a Saturday night. Nice room, clean and comfortable. Breakfast included for a really good price. Staff friendly and helpful. Gentleman who restocked the buffet at breakfast did a fabulous job.
I have stayed here twice in 5 years and I’m going to return in July 2018. It’s a great hotel with such character the beds are really comfy. The rooms feel homely and clean, The style is of a time gone by. I like that. The bathrooms and baths are really nice. It’s just a Home from Home to me. You feel safe of a night time. The lifts are safe. The rooms are cleaned daily. The food and drinks are great. The service from staff in impeccable. Britannia Hotel is one I’ll use again and again as I return to London.
Britannia International is a fairly mediocre hotel, which is nonetheless acceptable for an overnight stay. The decor is lacklustre and tired. Lift indicators don't fully work. My room was an inside one i. E. No windows — this was not really a problem as the view isn't likely to be up to much. The room was a good size, though the toiletries supplied are naff, the (good sized) bed was poor, bathroom accessories were loose and one bedside light didn't work. Location is fairly good for Canary Wharf. I wouldn't recommend it for central London or the main tourist attractions. I paid about £100 for the room for one night — I'd certainly think it was poor value at full price. You can easily do worse when looking for a cheap overnight stay in London, but I reckon you can easily do better as well.
Ye oldie Goldie and depressing. The value for money cannot be poorer.
Brilliant hotel with spacious rooms in antique style. All Londintypisch with kettle and tea. Nice view. The hotel also has an inexpensive Indian restaurant, a pizzeria and another all-you-can-eat restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Location in business district with excellent access to the city.
Simple and outdated setup. Simple breakfast. No free Wi-Fi in the room. Convenient location to the Jubilee Line subway station.
In the modern London area, not central but well connected via DLR South Quay station. Clean, comfortable, comfortable. The breakfast room has a nice view on the water.
Beautiful hotel but I'm sorry to say my experience @ breakfast this morning was very poorly. The gentleman that came to my table was very rude and unprofessional. When I asked him politely to clean the table where I was sitting, he replied to me that I could sit somewhere else that was clean, and I asked him why was the reason I couldn't have that table? He started by taking the crockery away and when he wiped the table that he didn't even cleaned it properly, he then spilled the crumbs onto my lap with no apologie. He was obviously put out. He then began to reset the table, but quite angrily. We could have chosen another table to sit, but we wanted to sit by the window as it has a nice view. We weren't the only ones that noticed the rudeness of the breakfast team. And that's the reason for 1
Pleasant Hotel with luxurious interior fittings, pleasant rooms and excellent accommodation.
It is a hotel that in spite of being far from the center is very well located because near the one you will find a mall and a subway station. The hotel itself is simple but the staff is friendly and the buffet breakfasts are very rich.
The staff at the front desk served us quickly and were very polite. The room is large enough that it would make more sense to live there rather than a studio flat in London! The decor however, probably something that you'll find more in line to the people who set the decor in the godfathers house.
Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean too but shower was a little annoying and the head wouldn't stay on the wall. There were no plugs near the beds to charge phones or tablets/laptops which was also annoying. Great views and breakfast staff were helpful. Breakfast was fine. Coffee was strong and bacon was undercooked as always in breakfast buffets in the UK. Would stay again though.
It looks good from the outside. But upon further inspection it wasn't all that. The rooms were dull and substandard. However it was clean. The staff were great. And my advice is don't pay for a room with a view. That's what I done. There was seriously no point as the windows were dirty on the outside.
The reviews we read about this hotel online were so negative that our expectations were low. We were very pleasantly surprised. We booked for 1 night, last minute at a discounted rate. The reception staff were professional, the decor was fine. There was an elevator. It was very quiet, no noise from other rooms or outside. Our room was windowless (expected), but surprisingly big! The bathroom was modern, with all the usual free toiletries to use. Everything was clean. The only 2 negatives were that the double bed was 2 singles pushed together and no fridge in the room.
Old Style Hotel but strategically located.
Very simple rooms with no air conditioning.
Nice rooms but terrible staff. Stayed here for five nights had a lovely comfortable room and the rates are very competitive. The staff are another story. Had dinner here one night and when I paid the waiter decided to keep my change. I wouldn't mind but I was going to give him a bigger tip if he gave me my change back. The girl at the bar wouldn't give me a pint of coke. She told me the till didn't have that on it so I said that's ok charge me for two cokes and put them in a pint glass with ice she told me she couldn't do that. The lights were on but nobody was home. Went for the cooked breakfast one morning and it was of such bad quality I refused to pay for it. So in short stay here on a B&B package and go for the continental breakfast if you want a cooked breakfast go over to canary wharf.
Reasonable value for money if you check on line for deals. Great staff. Nice food available on site and even room service is reasonably priced — though bottled beer only on the menu. Bar downstairs has draught beer though. Health suite is nice but smelled like onions when we went. Decor does show signs of use but overall liked the place.
Very close to Metro station located in an area of London in full constructive ferment will be interesting to see the evolution in the coming years.
Large rooms, a little rundown most of the cheaper rooms dont have windows. Very confusing room layouts, room numbers dont follow logical order. Double beds are just 2 singles pushed together so you have an awkward seam down the centre. Good value when on cheap deals. Parking is available, but costs £21 / 24hrs.
The facility is a little dated but still in good condition. Cleanliness and service are satisfactory. The price on offer made the choice advantageous.
-Location was really nice (Canary Wharf financial district) — Access to public transport was simple — Access to shops (eg. Tesco) -The DLR noise was disturbing at some point.
Worst stay I've ever had due to: 1) dirty rooms and unfriendly staff 2) food quality of the restaurant is extremely low 3) extra charges for anything, including room Wi-Fi 4) when going to the pool (1h before closing time) they turned off the lights with us in there and asked us to leave, this happened only 5 mins after going in, telling us that we may use the receipt the next day. When we went back today they asked us to pay another full day fee. 5) bad location, the only view we're getting is of a construction site.
It says free Wi-Fi. Well, it is free for 20 minutes, then you pay 7 GBP for it. The rooms, though big, are very worn. Would only recommend this place if nothing else nearby is available.
Couldn't fault the place, ideal for the price. Okay, its away from the centre but the underground is on its doorstep and the view we got was spot on. Would recommend and will definitely be coming back.
IT was bad. The Room was very Hot.
It deserves 4 stars. I spent my weekend in this hotel with my partner and overall it is a very good hotel. There are a few things that need improvement. For example, they should make all rooms with windows because the room gets very hot when the sun is shining right through the glass. Some fresh air is needed in the rooms. The bed was making lots of noise and it had wheels so it is another thing that should be improved. Overall I had a very relaxing time because the station was only 7 minutes away from the hotel so I have also been able to reach the shopping centre in less than 10 minutes.
We stayed in the Executive Room, it was probably thee worst hotel I have stayed in. For the price which I don't think was cheap I expected more than what we got, a very substandard budget hostel feeling. On arrival the front desk did not greet instead asked for my reservation number. The room was dirty and full of dust, the sofas were ripped and badly faded, carpets looked liked they were salvaged from a house demolition project. The bathroom was dated with the spa bath not working and it had a massive hole in the side looked like a maintenance job that was not completed. The basin plugs missing with hair in the plug hole. The room next door had a massive party going on till 3am with people taking drugs and smoking weed which we could hear and smell from our room. I called security several times that evening and instead of taking decisive action instead they knocked and asked them to turn down the music a little. Shortly after that the music and parting was back to full volume. Every time we travelled in the elevator we would leave smelling like we worked in the back of a curry restaurant. The small screen TV was on the far end wall which meant you could not lie in bed and watch TV but instead had to stand up close if you wanted to see anything. This was supposed to be a romantic weekend away, but turned up to be a weekend to Hell. When checked out I reported the awful weekend with not a single person interested in what I had to say.
Stayed in a room on the 9th floor. Booked a windowless room, but it must have been quiet as we stayed in a normal room. Hotel is outdated, but warm, clean and staff were very pleasant.
Good location, reasonable prices. Towels and bath stuff is getting changed every day, everything is on a good standard. A few restaurants on ground floor. I went for "italian" one, ordered pizza, but did not like it. Wi-fi is free, but only for 20 minutes, which from my point of view is a huge minus. In a conclusion it's a good hotel, can recommend it, if you don't mind staying without internet.
Decent breakfast but over a period of 15 days, the menu never changed! Well lit rooms! Limited Wi-Fi net connectivity (free: 40 min from room or unlimited from hotel lobby; rest is chargeable @ GBP 7 a day) The Indian restaurant Spice is a disaster (it takes at least 45 min to an hour for waiter to deliver food and if that's not bad, when asked for reason for such a delay, you get a response that the chef was busy — please avoid Spice! Other restaurant and pub within the hotel premise are decent.
Unfriendly staff, old and dirty rooms. Everything costs extra (Internet, Printing out boarding ticket). If you don't bring the envelop of you magnetic room key they don't let you in the breakfast room, but nobody informs you upfront about this special & "customer friendly" process neither it's written down on the envelop. In the empty Indian Restaurant within the hotel you have to wait 2 min that someone notices you than you wait 5 minutes to be seated and after asking how long will take to get food the waiters responds: "This is very good question, Sir, around 45 minutes. "
Good location, OK rooms. Some furniture is old and worn out. Have to pay for Wi-Fi now. Pool actually closes half an hour before the advertised closing time. Room service is expensive and my steak was well done instead of rare. Room does have a wonderful jet bath tub. Overall OK and good price but could be better.
The Hotel is dated, and I agree with others that the rooms could do with a refresh, but it's not that bad. What is bad is the breakfast, it makes me feel ashamed that an international hotel can serve such cheap breakfast with awful coffee, awful dish water tea, and I could go on. I'm not one to complain, but in this case I had to. The response from the waitress was inadequate, saying that it was filtered coffee (which I agree with) and that everyone else drinks it, which I gave it the benefit of a bad batch, but nope, it's terrible coffee. Oh, is it normal refer to a juice as juice when it was likely 60% water, and I mean that's 60% on top of the already obvious natural water contained in apple juice. Listening to the comments of the Americans next to me, referring to the sausage as weird and with that left for disposal, this hotel is not what England is, it's a foreign bad import and should buck up their idea especially when they charge £13 for their breakfast. Other than that, the staff are not rude, just clearly tired of being moaned at!
The hotel itself was fine, however, the whole experience itself was ruined by the Indian restaurant inside. After an evening at the O2 we went to the restaurant at 9.35pm as the hotel staff told us it was open until 10.30. When we tried to book in the the staff told us we couldn'the enter as they were taking their last orders at 9.45 pm. It was 9.35 when we went! The staff made no apology and just shrugged their shoulders. I believe the hotel should consider reviewing the lease as service like this ruins the reputation of the hotel. I have stayed at the Britannia several times when visiting the O2 but I will never return after my experience on this visit!
Location : good (5 min from the subway, rooms: good (however, there is no window to open — only air conditioning, Service good, food : good (however, if you like, no English Breakfast, mus with white bread, Toast, Butter, slices of cheese and ham. Of course, cereal, etc.
Location: The Hotel is easy to reach from the Metro Station "Canary Wharf" in about 5min walking distance. Via DLR Station "Heron Quays" in 5min. With the DLR from London City Airport getting to the Hotel. Hotel lobby: Makes a more refined appearance, and at the reception you do not need to wait if at All for a long time. The Taxi could be Booked in advance (Hotel — Victoria Coach Station £ 30). The room: It was clean, cleaned and made daily. Generally the room was in the clear English style, with carpeted except in the bathroom. There is a TV but had no hair dryer and no mini bar. Wi-Fi: In the whole Hotel Wifi was possible, even if it was in the evening very slow.
We really liked this hotel. Very elegant. For a sample see the curtains and lamps. Is in Canary Hearf.

RespondGunter — 29. Feb 2012
We have 3 people in the period 23. To 26. Feb. In 2012, the Britannia Hotel used and were very satisfied. In regard to cleanliness and friendliness of the staff, there was nothing wrong! The Breakfast is good and plentiful, provided you book Breakfast the English. The 4-star Standard does not match the categories of the Hotels on the continent — but that is also previously known! The location in Canary Wharf and the connection to the U-Bahn and the DLR are fantastic. Green which is only a stone's throw away, and to attempt necessarily. We would immediately go there again!

RespondAir conditioning could not be regulated (30). Window on, air conditioning off, then it was sleep possible at night. The repair of the drain was in 6 days is not feasible. Cleanliness in the bathroom not even a star. If someone pictures am in need of ready. Toaster in the Breakfast room for a one person household. Dry cheese etc. Coffee the day before cooked? Service staff overstrained. Not recommended.

It would have been a fantastic hotel in the 1990's but it doesnt translate to today. The customers were diversed which we loved but most of them sat in the reception complaining about the hotel; rightly or wrongly. Elizabeth line gives it a great connectivity to Central London as does the Jubilee Line. Interiors (furnishings etc. ) needs a major facelift if they want to keep the pace with the other hotels nearby especially if they rate their hotel a 4*?. Management approach is minimal. In other words It is just like a budget hotel located in a nice location.
