Belvedere House Hostel

A very nice stay in a great location! Friendly staff and generally a trusting environment.

Very cheap, I went before the refurbishment and I was living there throughout my stay in London. Perfect location, close to museums and Hyde Park, plus great metro-bus connection. I had a great roommate, the kitchen and bathrooms also very good.

The price is of the most affordable in London, ideal for people who go to London alone to look for work or study, the staff are guests who in exchange for a few hours a week reduce their rent.

I highly recommend it.

I stayed at Belvedere House for about 4 months, and the experience was warm and comforting. The rooms and the common areas are brightly lit, clean and neat. The staff is very kind and friendly. I met a lot of people from different countries and have also made some very good friends. The location is amazing very near to Gloucester Road tube station, close to a lot of supermarkets and in a very nice neighbourhood.

Very good care and willingness of the employees to help us in everything. The location is excellent. The rooms are large and comfortable. The cleanliness of the place is continuous. Good prices. Highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is good and the transportation is convenient. Room space is also large, many sockets. There is an elevator. Electronic locks are used for access and security. But the public kitchen smells heavy and greasy. The bed in the room was not too good to lie.

I stayed in a triple female room for a night. The place is extremely clean, and the staff were super welcoming. Location was great too, near the metro. Small improvements can be made though, for example, towels were not provided but this was not mentioned at all during booking. They were available for rent which I only found out the next day when I asked the reception. It will be great if they can provide these information online so that guests will remember to pack their towels! Also, it was difficult to pack my stuff in darkness as I didn't want to turn on the lights when my roommate was still sleeping, but I had to prepare and check out. I know many hostels have multiple people sharing a room and they provide small individual lighting beside each bed (even a cheap mini reading lamp will make a big difference and they cost less than 3 euros). Since it was winter, the room was pretty cold so I couldn't sleep the whole night and got up to check the heating but it didn't seem to be running. The blankets provided don't trap heat properly. If they did, I don't think this will be a problem. Overall, it's a very nice place with good value for money and alot of potential to be excellent.

The location is great, on the line of Piccadilly, District, and Circle line. Generally the value for money is OK. The staff there are nice and helpful. The reception can help to collect the parcels. There are cleaners working everyday to clean the kitchen and public area, as well to empty the trash in your room. However, the shared toilet is smelling and extremely tiny; the bathroom's facility is terrible: the user needs to press a button every 15-20 seconds to let the water continuously come out of the showerhead, and the water flow is quite weak. The heating goes off after midnight and it is freezing in the room (in winter), and apparently the quilt they provided is way too thin to keep your body warm at night. Furthermore, the sound insulation is insufficient. To sum up, for short stay according to the price it is a fine place.

The hostel staff is very friendly and always available for questions or any problems. I stayed in a double room on the ground floor, spacious and bright room. The bathrooms are in common but many, for this I have never waited my turn. The cleaners are frequent, just happened to not find them well-cleaned owing probably to the carelessness of the people. A check in more, we probably want to. As for the kitchen, for cooking is convenient, but it is not airy, clean and there is no place to sit inside. The area where is located the hostel is extremely convenient for this reason, the availability of the staff, for the amount of young people staying in the building and also for the room, I would choose again, Belvedere house, despite the flaws that I have previously written.
